From a riviera tourny

Either i cant hear when theyre playong music or that isnt when it shuffles. I only heard the sound once counted exactly 208 cards and didnt hear the sound again Won $290 and im sitting in the riviera toirny on break. Only 5 of us and some busted and rebought. Will test my theory again one more time to be sure at a quieter casino. To get a meaningful edge i must learn when it shuffles. Without the other promotion that is.--------------update----

am now in my room only to eat and to recharge my phone. i am up $598 for the day, about half on the VBJ, some from the tourney win, $150 minus $10 tip, and also over $200 up in the $1-2 NL. rolls about $14,200.

  1. You do realize the machine does not reset once someone new sits down. So IF your theory is correct, I highly doubt it, than the "loud bump" could happen 10 hands after you sit down.

  2. Tony:

    Three questions:

    1) If you verify that that "clunk/thud" means absolutely nothing, which is assuredly the case, does that mean you'll acknowledge that you can't count cards on the machine?

    2) If you can't count cards on the machine, thus are unable to gain any edge on the machine (which, again, is assuredly the case), will you stop playing the machines?

    3) Why do you respond to do few of the comments to your blogs? This format sucks overall, but it could be salvaged if you would reply to more comments.

  3. hmm, a long time ago unknown "confessed" that he was lester. now he's abbreviating everything as s.i. which is what seattle irish does.

question 1. no that wont mean i cant count the cards, it just means i havent yet discovered how to tell when the shuffle takes place. certain people do know but they are not willing to give the info out.

question2. i dont accept that i cannot gain an edge. i think i just havent learned HOW i gain the edge yet.

question3. maybe it often has something to do with by the time i finally go to my room and go to bed, im too tired to hunt thru all the comments. its hard to reply from cell, i hate typing on a phones tiny keyboard. would much rather use an ipad than iphone.

  4. In item 2 above you admit you don't have an edge. You concede that right now it is a -EV game. Why do you play?

  5. In question 2 above you concede tha that you do not have an edge. Why do you continue to play -EV games?

  6. Tony,

You admit in your response to question 2 that you do not have an edge, making this a -EV game. Why are you playing a -EV game?

  7. Tony i believe the virtual VBJ machines are continuous shuffle or are shuffled after every hand.

  8. Tony when are you moving your blog back to AVP? You would get a lot better feedback at AVP. This having to wait for comments to be approved kills a conversation or a debate.

  9. Tony,

Why won't you post my comments?

  10. Snevman my laptop isnt working. Im on cell. Missed seeing comments earlier. Vince taking me to buy new laptop in 30 minutes. On most bj forums theres a consensus that with comps its close to an even money game. With some special slot club promos it can go over 100% withoit the variance of vp

Tony, you and I both know this is total BS when you play machines with 96% payout. You play them because you are addicted and you can't stop, just admit it.

I have my own problems with online BJ, but at least I admit it is a -ev game when I play outside of the bonus period.

Yes, I knew you were referring to the 3-2 "good" machines. My point was, it is quite irrelevant, and a BS attempt to justify playing those machines, because you are quite happy to put in thousands of dollars in a 96% payout machine. If you actually have the discipline to choose the best payout machines and reward program to make it neutral or even +ev to play, then fine, then you can talk the talk and walk the walk. Otherwise, it is all just so much BS, just like your $200 bounty.
