Everyone comment and tell me all u can about california players

Started with $83 today $1-2-3 nl lost it rebought $100 more and now have $238 on the table. At least im starting off slightly up. One of my problems here in cali not counting the stress of the extra expenses is i think im not giving these asians enough credit for a legit hand. Thats because all i hear in vegas is how bad cali players are. So when i have $5 invested preflop and its raised to $20 and i have at suited kq off or jk suited and im stuck i call when i know i shouldnt because im probably dominated if i hit. Hands which i fold easily in vegas with its smaller rake and blinds i find harder to laydown here. And i think its probably a flaw also im more inclined to make loose calls when i feel stuck. Are there alot of good regular players who are asian? Is it possible to be asain and still be a solid player? Unlike many guys i dont like asain women dealers their accent and constant use of the word sir instead of being warm and friendly calling me by name is annoying as hell.

I know i dont belong in sanjose with my limited bankroll but then again i feel the games are exceptionally good here and should be beatable by over $1500 a week longterm.

  2. In SoCal many Asian players tend to be much more aggressive than what we see in Vegas and many of these are very good. I find when playing there at the beginning of a session it pays to be very patient, playing few hands until I get a lock on the players' tendencies. You will then know who the weak players are and you can focus your attention on them. This advice is nothing new, I know, but I think you will see good results if you try it. Good luck, as always.

Here you go again Tony. You just don't fucking listen or even want to listen to advice people are trying to give you to HELP YOU. You know you don't belong there, but you still stay.

It doesn't matter if a person is white, black, yellow, or orange with green spots, asian, caucasian or from some negroid background. You are dumb Tony, a person's ethnic background makes no difference to their ability to play cards. Many of the most brilliant people in the world are from non white ethnic backgrounds. Asian people were thousands of years ahead of us dumbass white people in technology and medicine for hundreds of years before the dawn of the mechanical/electrical era.

Your trouble Tony is that you only hear what you want to hear. You listen to idiots say how bad people play in California, and you rub your hands together with glee and can't wait to get there. Unfortunately the truth is far from reality, as once again you are now finding this out.

Us Asians are terrible players, it is not possible to be Asian and be a solid poker player. Just treat us all like fish and you will do just fine.

  6. Yes winning 1 day is PROOF you are a solid player and can beat cali games.
Also play 1 HU sit n go with pokerdogg will Prove you are a solid player and can beat the cali games.

And by the way the day that you make $1500 per week on a decent sample size of at least 1000 hours is when I will quit playing poker forever.
But not to worry because you never keep track of your hours or +'s or -'s and have no clue where you stand for an hourly rate for each blind level of NL games you play like all pro's do know about themselves.

Records are a great way to show you what games you are making money at and how much per hour.
Only people that are scared of looking at their true results do not keep track.
Have you ever seen a fish keep records? I have not.

Tony, I've never played in Cali, I've no idea what the players are like there.

I can tell you this, some of the loosest action players at my local card room are Asians. On the other hand, two of the toughest players in the room (not talking about me) are also Asians, and one of them is a female.

BTW, I don't play on Bodog.

  9. Tony,

Now that you have an iphone, download an app called "Poker Journal", it only costs a few bucks. With this app you will be able to track all your play and bankroll with the greatest of ease. You just make a 20 second entry when you sit at the table and another if you rebuy or cash out, simple.

Regarding asian players. Just think of them all as you do online players. You know nothing of their play unless you have played with them before. Assume they all are average players and then adjust your views based on their play. You cannot stereotype every asian player. It is just the same with all young guys wearing headphones, hoodies and sunglasses; you can make assumptions but they will often be wrong. So, just pretend that you can't seem them, like playing online, and make your decisions after you see them play a while.

Playing is Cali has certainly stressed you out, this is not good for your mental health nor your bankroll. Go back to vegas where rooms and food is free and the games are beatable. Just show some fucking restraint and stay off the machines. Having met you a few times I don't believe you are a moron, however at times you certainly behave like one.

Oh, by the way, this is the worst format ever. Your "blog" is sucktastic. As a "journalist" your readership deserves better. Many are losing interest and I only check back once a week or so just to make sure you haven't been mugged and are still alive. Do us all, and yourself, a favor and move this to an interactive format. Sucktastic is an understatement, but I like the word.

    Good luck,

    snevman
