NEED A BIKE

Still doing ok, won $82 today, rolls still in the $2300s, and i wish i had some icecream or some fruit in here, having been buying the absolute cheapest items possible at walmart since im paying cash. which means NO candy bars, pop, etc. I get shocked when i see poor people buying expensive meats. I really dont feel all that comfortable walking about outside after dark. Especially thru the parking lot of walmarts, or up the street towards AZ charlies and boulder station, instead of sams town, or even a walk to the eastside cannery. nor do i like the idea of standing across the street in the middle of the night at boulder station heading back the other way towards samstown. lots of broke and desperate people out here and a terrible lot of them look like they are under 21. wonder how many are runaways.

i certainly dont have the roll to do so yet, and i left the poker room out $28, i am only up for the day because i won $109 on the video poker at sams town i shouldnt have been playing. But what i need--is another bicycle. and of course the cheapest and ugliest looking one i can find that might not get stolen. and this time i need all kind of expensive locks.

with another bike, i could zip right thru any scary lone isolated dark areas at night so fast, i wouldnt mind going thru the parking lot at walmarts, and zipping home from boulder station or eastside cannery in the middle of the night. But when should i buy it? what should i first have my roll up to? it will drop the middle of next week, once i start paying rent and phone. also my net will be $90 next month again. damn that 10 GB limit. I still think if i could find a safe cheap place near grump id be better off downtown near the golden nugget. paying $170+ a week for a cockroach infested place really isnt all that cheap, id like to pay monthly when i can for not over $500 including utilities. also i miss playing NL and im starting to think i might soon have enough for it. But i am running way above average and am probably due for some losses. what i dont want, is to ever go back under $2000. Lost a $25 sng tonight when on the bubble as a heavy favorite, AK against AQ so that was quite upsetting, ($50 swing). means i might soon need to buy more from vook. bought $50 off him yesterday, or id been up to $2400 now.

it shouldnt be neccessary to put UNOPENED boxes of cereal, macoroni, and noodles in the fridge to safeguard it from roaches is it? even unopened? mom said to keep ALL in there.

also curious what a $2-6 spread limit player with average promotions should be able to win longterm per hour. more than $6 i hope.

  1. Are u asking what is the win rate for. really good $2-6 player, or the winrate for yourself?

I imagine it should be somewhere between the winrate for $2/4 limit and $1/2 NL. What is your winrate for those two?

    1. i wouldnt know, my phone didnt let me seperate the 2 when showing results.

i know im $11 an hour overall between all games combined, i stopped keeping records because most of those were NL and i figured id start up again when back playing NL, that way limit games wouldnt mess up the results.

    2. Tony, didn't I make a post about how to create new limits on that application, so that you can track the different games seperately? I thought I did that months ago.

  3. so the making good decisions thing didnt last very long.

it doesnt matter if you won or not but playing machines is a bad decision. poker is the best way to get where you want to go (where ever that is)

until you get over the idea that you have to finish the day in the plus column and the inability to to accept any kind of los you have no chance to be successful.

    good luck

  4. I think you could make $6 per hour on 2-6 limit, but not much more. Also assuming you are playing during a promo period and hopefully game has a single blind.

What is the rake and promos where you are playing 2-6.?

FWIW I think live 2-4 limit is unbeatable with the rake.

    1. its $1 and $2 blinds, rake is $3 and $2, and the promotions differ by the day. 2 days its the promo i talked about for aa. saturday its the whip it promo i discussed with the tshirts. other days its $400 for the same suit flush if u get 3 of them, which hardly ever happens. all days its $50 for same color only aa

      Delete
    2. You're playing a $2-$6 game that is dropping $3+$2 with horrible promotions and $3 in blinds every orbit? The only way that game is profitable is if it has a full kill that qualifies at $20 in the pot instead of the typical $40 and even then it's not worth playing as you would have the roll necessary for $1-$2 NL.

Didn't you claim to be 100x smarter than others?

      Delete
    3. im up about $900 since i rented the apt thats all the evidence i need, not quite all came from that game. the blinds arent dropped, they are left in the pot. the game would be harder to beat with a kill instead of easier, because it would cost u more every pot won. i dont think i really have enough for $1-2, id have to min buy instead of a normal buyin, and even then id have barely 20 buyins

This page list 41 physical VP machines at Sam's Town with paybacks over 100%. That's in addition to well over 100 with 99%+ payout.

And you're playing some stupid 95% payout game because you can martingale it?

Yet you aren't addicted to gambling?

    1. well i just dont have a high enough bankroll for them 25c deuces wild, was told i needed 8k

    2. But your bankroll is high enough to play Big Split Poker at a 5% disadvantage?!??!?!?!?!

      Delete
    3. Brilliant reasoning Tony. To play a 95% payout game, you need an INFINITE bankroll, yet you play them. But you don't play a 100% payout machine because your bankroll is not high enough. Just brilliant!

      Delete
    4. truthfully, i think overall ill lose LESS on the 96% payback. why? becaue instead of betting $1.25 average per hand, my per hand average isnt going to probably be over 5c with the martingale, though some bets are way more, many are only 1c.

losing say a half a percent on $1000 worth of bets is still more than losing even 10% on $50 in total bets, but its still dumb to play it, cant argue that, just wanted to play something else since i didnt think i could no longer play good poker that day.

  7. I used to live down there between Nevada Palace (now the East Side Cannery) and Sam's Town and never once did I have any issues.
Never got accosted. Only ever had one prostitute try to pick me up. Never got in a gun fight or a knife fight and only bugged by a few random bums/beggars. In fact, I've been bugged more since leaving that area.

And I, like you, have the misfortune of being born white.
Grow the beard out, quit shaving, it will make you look more destitute so the others think you are one of them and won't bother you since y'all kin.

  9. You keep saying you need to buy things...bike, microwavable dish, etc. What happened to all the shit I took you to buy? Or the bike you already had? You need to keep this stuff & haul it with you place to place. No need to buy it twice.

    1. u havent read my blog for some time, and u missed alot of important news. the bike got stolen ages ago, otherwise id have never moved out of the hardrock and went to laughlin, it wasnt only due to claudia losing interest in me. Just was tired of living there without a bike. and i didnt think they could legally move my things out since id been there more than 5 weeks, but they did. never did find out the law on that. i have nothing to put the things in, i would need a terrible lot of suitcases. nor wouldve i have had a way to haul things.

  10. The roll you need for any game depends in part on your tolerance for risk.

With an 8K roll you have about a 1% chance of going broke playing FPDW with the .05 cashback Sam's Town offers.

About half of that increases your risk of ruin to around 10%.

The roll you report currently would give you about a 27-28% chance of traveling to tap city playing that game, somewhat like shoving the last of your chips pre-flop with AK suited and getting called by AQ suited.

By the way...Boric acid is a complete waste for roaches, the only way to have a chance is for the guy to spray them, 2nd choice is get a Fogger from Walmart (and even that is not good cause it just makes them hide deeper until it is safe to come out). Actually, long time ago I used those bait station/trap thingys where they walk in and dont walk out. They seemed to work ok (ie Combat)

    1. most people commenting, including mom, said to use the boric acid. u didnt mention about unopened macoroni, noodles soups and cereals. trap things would only kill like one roach, be a pain cause id have to touch it. no idea what a fogger is.

  13. im going to go ahead and pay next weeks rent even though it isnt due til wednesday, since im down for today anyway. (no point in being down two days). at least then ill see a reason for being down instead of the urge to return and get even. went to walmarts and loaded up $1000 on the debit card so id have little cash on me. also got the icecream and lunch meats. and if its not too late in the day, i might go grab the blanket at the thrift shop. first ill eat a pizza on my new 92c pizzapan for the first time. and of course im broke on lock except for like $1. maybe i shouldve got more roach powder.

  15. I'm down on that area of Boulder Highway almost daily> BLD station, Sams town, Cannery all have bike security in the parking lot 24/7. Boulder Highway is fine to walk, keep your head down and mind your own biz and you'll be fine. If somebody says something to you that doesn't mean it's a good idea to stop and strike up a conversation. I think it's safer than a downtown side street at 4am.

    1. the bike security at the cannery really sucks, its far from the employees unlike samstown, and the last time i still had my bike and parked it there this summer, i was worried sick, for i seen bike frames and lone wheels no bikes chained up there. (proof of thefts)

      http://www.paynepestmgmt.com/faq.html
Cockroaches have long been one of the most common household pests in our area. We've developed years of expertise in solving cockroach problems. Our control strategy depends upon the species of cockroach, which is why inspection and identification is an important first step. Upon identification of the species and analysis of the situation, a strategy is developed. Payne Pest Management technicians utilize baits, carefully placed out of reach of children and pets, to eliminate cockroach populations. In other situations, insect growth regulators, which inhibit the ability of the cockroach to molt and grow, are used in combination with other methods. Additionally, we provide information to clients about the ways that they can minimize pest immigration and avoid providing harborage for pest populations. So you see, cockroach control is really best achieved through a combination of techniques - an "integrated" approach to pest management.

  19. I'm hesitant to say this Tony, but dare I say that it sounds like you have your life somewhat on track? Is that possible? Saying that, though, means I fear that you will easily slip into your old ways and start gambling in the bad games just because you have the money to do so. I hope you keep your days of <$1k bankroll near & dear to your heart so that you never forget how easy it is to slip back into them.

Slow & steady wins the race, buddy. Hopefully this time through, you've learned that there is no easy way to get to where you want to be other than hard work and perseverance. I'm pretty sure that your religious beliefs are consistent with that statement.
