starting to come back

well the losing sessions at samstown are over now, both yesterday and today were close to $200 wins, and i got my cell phone bill paid. Incidentally, i need a new cell phone battery terribly bad and cant afford it, it dies very rapidly and sometimes shuts off on its own. keeps getting worse.

so im back to $1700 again from $1400. and once my walmart moneycard recredits the transaction that failed to go thru, ill be back to around $2000. and once moms check arrives which got sent to me in thursdays mail, ill be back over $2300 and then ill feel a whole lot better. it says on the walmart debitcard website that it takes up to 10 whole days to credit back transactions that got cancelled. this is why u never ever want to use the walmart debitcard instead of the bank if at all possible.

Plus i learned something else really bad about the debitcard, (that doesnt apply to a bank card). if it gets stolen, (and used fraudlently before i get the card cancelled) im shit out of luck. they do NOT limit ur loss to $50 like my bank is required to do by law. so its not all that safe.

am so glad im finally realizing that the samstown game is evidently beatable after all. Unless ive just been running extremely hot. Also ive got over $80 in food comps there, more than i thought, i must be putting in many hours.

now here is whats really bugging me, and is why me ordering this for mom was such a hassle. I first tried to use my bank debit card, and it got declined, and i couldnt reach them by phone that morning to find out why. well, i managed to reach them by phone yesterday, and found out why. seems a bunch of cards got comprimised somehow, and they sent everyone out a new card, cancelled their old card, and a letter explaining why.

this really upsets me that the bank would send that out without phoning and emailing u to warn u because how do they know if u still live there? see my bank didnt have a valid address for me since i closed that mailbox at the flamingo. So they had to cancel the replacement card too once i told them. and now ill just go to the bank, show ID and get a new temporary card. (but they still will have to mail the permanent one).

their is no excuse whatsoever for them not emailing people,IMMEDIATELY or calling people, whenever this becomes neccessary, and ill give u a hypothetical situation to explain why. and i will tell the bank manager exactly what i think when i go in to talk to them.

Lets say i lost my money in the casino and was in a taxicab home, and was stopping by the bank on the way, knowing i had plenty of money in there to pay him, and i couldnt get my card to work at the atm (since they had cancelled it without telling me--) and also it wouldnt work with the cab readers credit card meter. lets say then the cab driver calls the police and the police dont want to hear my cards been cancelled, and say i need to pay. see all the horrible trouble that can be caused by the bank not calling or email u immediately to notify u, instead of sending a letter in the mail?

and the bank wasnt really understanding me on the phone, because they claimed that cancelling the card was to "protect" me. its NOT me thats being protected, because im not responsible for fraudulent transsactions. its themselves.

had my bank not cancelled my card, id have never tried to use my walmart debitcard, and i wouldnt have ended up being charged twice because the debit card didnt go thru the first time when i forgot to tell the salesman over the phone its a mastercard instead of a visa.

so yeah, i have to go to my bank, and maybe wait 10 days before my other $281 is back on my walmart debitcard. what a pain in the ass.

Now i know to some of u $100 is a lot of juice, but remember mom offered me that out of the blue because she knew i needed it more than she did, and she wanted to help me out. i sure wouldnt have asked for that much. and she had no idea when she asked all this aggravation id go thru, nor did i. i thought it would be easy and id only be out $281 in the meantime instead of being out $562.

her birthday is coming up march 25, and i can repay her then. certainly not now, i need it too much. im in far more desperate shape than her. She owns her house, owns a car, has a more stable income, and doesnt manage her money as well as me in my opinion, because i feel like spending money on farmtown is a waste, and so is tea this expensive. she thinks it makes her healthier and she feels better physically. the reason the tea is so terribly expensive is herballife is a multilevel marketing company. Right now im just praying that check dont get lost or stolen, or ill really be fucked, and that walmarts dont make me wait forever to get that other $281 back, cannot understand why their website says it takes up to 10 days.

also, im really worried my new bankcard will get lost in the mail too. i hope the employees here are honest.

and i hope vook makes an effort to see me when hes in town soon. i explained to him about how the buses and free samstown shuttle works. he might be out.

and in other news, how much should i have before i get another bike? i dont want to really be below $3000 let alone below $2000. want to feel entirely secure i wont go broke. how much do u guys feel the $2-6 spread limit game is beatable for a week longterm? at what point should i play NL? how much will that phone battery cost? there is a nearby tmobile store where i can speak to someone in person close to samstown. who would want to go out to Jean, and fill their car up with gas with my comp dollars, and give me a reasonable amount but still less than they wouldve paid? I know if i had a bike, id do a bit of playing in the NL game at boulder station, but i dont want to walk it or wait outside across the street for a bus in the middle of the nite. i have no idea what that game is like either. still am considering moving downtown near grump to play at the nugget everyday, but feel my roll isnt enough yet, and not sure where to live downtown. Grump might know. also moving is going to be very difficult, because i dont have near enough suitcases to put my things in, and suitcases seem to cost a ton. is why i never buy them. Really wish a friend could spare bedding, kitchen things i dont have, towels etc too.

  1. I think one of the last comments in the Weds blogpost which was from S.I. asked about that uber expensive tea. I guess the question that comes to my mind is does that special tea go well with filet mignon?

    Good luck (of course), Lester

  2. LOL.

It is YOUR responsibility to inform your bank and other people you do business with if you move.

And why do you always focus so much on your short term results and if that means a game is beatable or not?

I had the same thing happen with American Express and the extra charge dropped off in two days.

  5. You think you manage your money better than your mom?

That's one of the funniest things you've ever said. Who owns a house and a car and who is homeless and sans license?

    2. that host is so far out on the left no one listens to her. The Bible says true Christians will be considered fools in the last days. We have come a long way downhill from the america of the early 1900s.

      Delete
    3. Ah yes. America in the early 1900s: When women couldn't vote, black people could get lynched, and children worked long shifts in factories. No SSI also. Good times. Good times.

    4. there was NO racism back then, no one had any reason to dislike blacks, black kids grew up with BOTH parents, not just one, loved and feared God, and were taught to treat everyone with respect instead of to hate the white man. Racism is a new phenomen because white people have gotten so fed up with crime, violence directed at them in poverty stricken areas for just being white, and being told they are to blame for everything. Its no wonder some feel a lot of resentment towards blacks they didnt feel 100 yrs ago. there was no crime back then either, because schools still had prayer and Bible reading.

    7. Guess Tony never heard back in the 60's and before, that blacks sat in designated areas in the back of the bus, could not pee in the same bathroom, eat in the same restaurants, sleep in the same hotel, or even drink from the same water fountain.

Ahhhh...those were the days huh TBC?

  8. Tony, you're a nitwit. I love how you state banking laws, but FAIL to state the most obvious: the debit cards are property of the bank that you get to use to access your ACCOUNT for convenience purposes. They can cancel your privilege to use the card at anytime for any reason and they don't have to notify you IMMEDIATELY or even at all. Maybe when you close a mailbox, you should open another so that you can receive mail. Oh wait, you'd rather blame others and businesses for your laziness in updating your address let alone get another one.

    1. Tony has a point here ... and I've been in Commercial Banking for quite a bit of my career. The same thing has happened to me recently - when I was in Vegas, actually. I live in London, and was vacationing in Vegas when suddenly I could not get any cash from the ATM. I'm thinking - WTF?

So I called the bank, and got the same story - an online vendor had a security breach, and the bank cancelled all debit cards as a security measure and re-issued. Fortunately for me, I also have a US-based account - so could just transfer money on the Internet and use my US debit card. But the bank holds BOTH my email address and my cell phone number - they should issue an alert both via email and SMS to notify customers so they don't get into an embarrassing situation.

However - Tony - I would advise you NOT to cause a scene when you complain to the bank. You have a legitimate point, but remember to be polite - you don't want to get banned from the bank too.

    2. when i go to the bank as soon as i am awake the right hours of the day, (or depositing moms check arriving soon) i am going to tell them to make sure i will be INSTANTLY notified this way the next time. This should always be an option, many people do check email and texts constantly same as me on their smart phone. probably way over 50%, including most of those on food stamps

      Delete
    3. It may make you feel better to tell someone that, but realistically it will make no difference ... unless you make a scene, as previously mentioned.

  9. What makes you think most people check or even have an email account? I know lot of people that never check their email and there is still quite a few that don't even have one.

As far as calling, does anybody answer the phone anymore? and it is your responsibility to keep your address up to date. Maybe you should get a PO box....Even if you move they can then forward your mail.

  10. eBay for the phone battery. You will save a ton over buying retail. Go to ebay and search for "(your phone model) battery" and see what comes up

And friends are more than just people who are supposed to run your errands for you and give you stuff.

    1. i need to talk to them in person, to make sure i dont get the wrong thing. afraid to risk buying it used, who knows what id be sent. not worth waiting around either for it to arrive.

    2. Well to put it into perspective, I don't know what kind of phone you have but my friends phone needed a new battery. It was 49.99 for retail, and $12 on eBay.

For a guy who skimps out on $8 blankets, you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss. A phone battery has a finite number of charge cycles before it is rendered useless.

  11. Whew, great news that the Sam's Town game is once again beatable. It's too bad they didn't have a big sign outside the casino that flashes "Beatable" or "Not Beatable" as that'd save you a lot of time.

I think what you meant to say was that you really wish a friend would give you lots of household things FOR THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME to replace the stuff you were given before that you abandon every time you must IMMEDIATELY be somewhere else.

  12. won $110 at sams town tonight, and about 15 minutes earlier was winning $238, so i decided to leave and go home and eat. won a little online at home, rolls up to $155 on lock now. Sorry to hear Grump will no longer be around. Whose the bloggers still actively playing poker around here? rob? he dont even live here. we have lost way too many bloggers in the past year. Rest assured i will never change, or quit gambling. The only change ill be making is my bankroll will be getting much higher over the year.

P.s. i forgot, not touched any VBJ machines since returning to vegas. Of course, thats because ive not been around any of the ones like they have in Jean.

so im winning $238 at sams town and a guy sits down whose quite drunk and loud. he starts raising any 2, and gets lucky on a pot. then he does same thing next hand, i reraise and miss everything, and a new young black kid who just sat at the other end of the table won. then i get a pocket pair, and reraise the drunk again on a 3rd pot, black guy gets involved, reraises and beats my 55 on a board of 994 where i called him down til the river. then next hand same thing, drunk raises, i reraise with TT and black guy again reraises and this time has AA after having KK the hand before. and i left after dropping over $100 so fast. he got 2 monster hands in a row, and i could tell he didnt respect our raises, but i wasnt the idiot who was drunk. i left same hand the drunk guy left, while the black guy won close to $200 in 15 minutes. game broke as we left.

    1. The video poker machines at Sams Town are very beatable if one knows when to get of the machine. Anyone can make an easy $100 on the JOB 9/6 machines if one gets off when up a hundo, not hard to do.
The electronic roulette machines at the Fremont and 4Queens are also an easy $100 if one knows when to get off the machine.
The Main St Station casino is also an easy $100 to make on there 9/6 JOB machines if one knows when to get off the machine.
If one lets greed or is chasing losses you are toast.

    2. A sample-size of 1. Well, that's all the statistical significance you need to reach a conclusion. I guess that means as soon as you get "rich", it'll be super-easy for you to find a woman - since the vast majority of them are looking for a man to support them so they can stay home and be a housewife (and sit behind you at the poker table for recreation).

      Good luck (of course).
