wasted day

so when sickcall looked at the SSI website for hours of operation, it lists closing time at 3pm monday-friday. But when we went over there, we found out it closed at noon on wednesdays. who wouldve expected that? and now i still dont have the status letter i need to show welfare when i come back on march 13.

and this casino is no longer giving out food comp tickets for the buffet, they want us to spend our comp dollars. well i earn very few a day and need them for rooms. Andy ordered me a bunch of food on amazon ill get in about a week, and sickcall and I grabbed a few remaining items, like canned beans, peaches, juice mix for 17c each, applesauce, etc. also used up my $80 in samstown comps.

good news is i won $198 on the VBJ earlier in the day, so now the roll is at $1551, and the final $250 of paypal is still on its way to my bank.

we did make a stop at southpoint on the way back, and there IS a VBJ machine, same kind and rules as in Jean, but so many more players hard to get a seat, theyre filled up. its simply due to its location compared to Jean. the comps arent nearly as good, no 1% there. they do offer 0.30% cashback though which can also be used for comps if u dont want cashback. Theres a few apts nearby that look safe enough, but they arent weeklies.

McGee is conviced i shouldnt cash out the one $43 bitcoin i have on seals, but to play there instead, says the players arent good at all, and that also i should NOT discontinue my phone, that i need to keep my number if i want to try and get help with social agencies.

  1. Tony is there some kind of bus service, that goes into Las Vegas that passes through Jean, ie Greyhound etc. It is really a long way to expect someone to make a round trip twice in the one day to get you there and back. Maybe you could catch a bus into Las Vegas and stay overnight somewhere cheap. Do what you have to do with the SSI and catch the bus back to Jean. Just a thought.........

    1. absolutely not, the closest to any bus is southpoint, 20 miles away towards vegas.

  2. Even though people don't hitch hike anymore I doubt it would be Tony's first time. There are always 50 Truckers in the parking lot of the Gold Strike and it's only 25 miles. Getting back would be the problem. there is no way there is local or long distance bus service though. It's an exit and a casino with a gas station and that's it. i don't know if Truckers would even give people a ride anymore or not, probably violates company policy no exceptions is pretty standard but i have no idea.

  3. Tony:

To be clear, my comment about cashing out the bitcoin was in reference to it being at it's peak value right now; McGee is considering a lot more data points (weakness of play, ability to fill up your down time, fewer opportunities to explode at staff, etc...).

Value asside, I think you should go with McGee on this.

  4. How did you roll jump to $1500+? This seems like out of the clear blue, as just the other day I remember you posting it to be around $800. What happened?

    2. Poker meister I am interested in this seals with clubs idea. Do you have to buy these bitcoins at. $43 a piece? What happens if tomorrow they plummet to $5?

    6. I didn't see where on your blog to sign up? I clicked the banner and it took me to the seals with clubs page but I have no idea what to write as a referral

    7. I just signed up, but don't see the freerolls???

    8. KeepFloppin is the referral name, but using the link should be enough for the referral.

    9. Sad to see that the once mighty blog of one of the most famous grinders in all of Vegas has now become a ghost town filled with spammy attempts to get referrals on a dinky site like Seals With Clubs.

Still happy with that decision to become a full-time VBJ pro, TBC? Seems like things were going a lot better in the past when you actually played poker but of course you know best.

    10. I can't be bothered looking for it, but it sounds like Tony is getting all the validation he desperately craves on RTP

  5. Tony why did you not go to the SSI office at 8:00am like most people would have done?

  6. Too bad Tonys barred from Bally's/CET because his dream scenario is happening there now.

Free Rooms Promo at Bally's poker room
They just started this great promo for a 2 month test, March and April, if successful then maybe more.

Play 6 hours of poker between 9am and 9am and get a free room that day, midnight to 9am counts for previous day.

Free rooms are Sunday thru Thursday($15 resort fee per night if gold, if platinum or above no resort fee)

Friday and Saturdays are $45 a night with 6 hours.

There are some exception days and some blackout days as follows:
    March 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, and 23rd +
April 5th-8th and 19th and 20th will all be $75 with 6 hours.

    Blackout 3/20-3/22 and 4/9 and 4/10.

You must have room already booked when you go to supervisor for comp after you get the 6 hours. Confirmed you can book North tower rooms and get the comp or south tower, but North is much better, standard rooms only no upgraded.

Must book with caesars/Bally's and not with orbitz, etc.

  7. so, you overplayed your online roll and went broke, then tilted on VBJ and lost a ton of money.

    History repeats itself once again..

  8. Tony posted on RTP that he lost $410 playing VBJ, he was pissed and that made him hit the max bet button, lol.

  9. I don't think being a pro VBJ player is going to work out.

Would you consider becoming a pro Candy Crush Saga player?

  10. So a guy drops you $750 and you piss it away. Way to go.

  11. http://www.kfdm.com/shared/news/top-stories/stories/kfdm_vid_3902.shtml

this explains in detail WHY the social security office was closed on wed, instead of being open til 3pm, like sickcall was told online they were mon-fri. it was so employees wouldnt have to get paid overtime. seems a news station in tx picked up the story because of a lot of angry people

  12. also, the other day, after waiting online about 30 minutes and finally reaching an SSI representative, they faxed me a status letter i needed saying i currently had an appeal in the works, wrote down the goldstrike in Jean as my new address, and told me a letter was sent out to Vince by my local office that got sent back to them. they told me they didnt know what was in it, so i needed to call my local office. i cannot find a number for the local office anywhere but if anyone who reads this gets SSI in vegas, its written on the paperwork u get in the mail. ive searched online, and all i can find is the nationwide 800 number, and i dont want to be on hold 30 minutes just to request the local number. so id please appreciate that number. this info cannot be found online, the govt has a policy of NOT publishing it to make sure everyone calls the national 800 number instead.

    1. You honestly and truly don't have 30 minutes of free time in your busy daily schedule to get a potentially vital telephone number?

Did you consider that you can play Candy Crush Saga while waiting on hold?

  13. also i found a missed voicemail i didnt know about from the other day when my phone updated, it came from SSI, but now that the voicemail has been deleted, isnt showing up in my cell phone call logs for some reason. i couldnt understand the voicemail too well, and i was supposed to call back a JASON who wondered if i had any additional medical info to help them decide my still pending case. i evidently wrote the number down wrong i thought i heard that was hard to make out. for i called it, got a recording in french, had to wait and press 1 for english, and then it said there was NO roadway emergencies in my area and hung up. so its the wrong number. now i dont know what to do, so thats another good reason to call the local office and ask advice. i cannot figure out why they are only showing the nationwide number on all websites and phone directories. the appeal was supposed to be decided by March, but it seems they havent decided anything yet. also i am in the process of trying to disconnect my phone, so then what will i do? u are the ones who said to shut it off that i cant afford the bill

    1. Remember all that money is pissed away on the machines yesterday? That would have paid the phone bill for 4 months, just saying.

    2. do u say the same thing when u lose $400 in the $1-2 NL game? same difference, because all the money was put in in ONLY +ev situations. only thing i did wrong was "having that much of my roll on the table"..

(in other words, i had no business betting anywhere near that much) the fact i had a 51-49 edge when i bet it notwithstanding.

i still cannot decide for sure if i am doing the right thing planning to disconnect the cell. sickcallmggee says absolutely not to do it or i wont be able to be reached by the govt and places to get me help. paying for a 2nd phone is even more stupid, since the most u can suspend service is for 1-3 months and then id be stuck with 2 phones bills a month

    3. Poker allows you to put money in as a 75-80% favourite regularly, VBJ, not so much.

    4. Tony, this will solve your phone troubles. Once you get it, give it to SSI.

    5. Buying a prepaid phone commits you to absolutely nothing and has an out of pocket expense of very little. But you wouldn't know because you're too lazy to look into it.

You can throw it in the garbage when you reconnect your regular phone and how much you use it dictates your cost.

    6. Tony, the poker anology breaks down for you. I don't stress about losing $400 at 1/2 NL, but that's because I things like a job and savings. Also, you overbet your betting scheme by a lot, the poker equivalent would be getting 3 buyins on the table at once, and getting the money in the middle as a 51% favorite. Of course this wouldn't happen because the casino doesn't allow you to by in for 3 buyins at a time. My 9 year old daughter could show you a thing or 2 about work ethic, your excuses are tired and old.

  14. Diconnecting your phone in the middle of your SSI appeal would a pretty bad idea. But, so was not getting a medical diagnosis to support your claim, months/years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Tony take a couple of freaking days off and get your SSI taken care of. SSI should be your #1 priority not VBJ, a good count etc...Stopping your phone service would be a bad idea.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As above, take the time out , get to the office and wait, and fucking wait until you are seen and get this sorted.
No phone = no contact = no SSI, etc, etc.

Ask for some housing while you are there as well.

  17. Tony.. Keep your phone on until you hear back from SSI.... If you have an Iphone you should still have that voice mail in deleted messages..since your back in Vegas why don't you go back up and explain the message was not audible and find out what you need to do to speed up the process. Keep us up to date..

  18. Tony why are you worried about that phone contract? How often does somebody run a credit check on you? Would they give you credit if they did?? For most people I would say you signed the contract suck it up and honor it but you are living and eating off of comps with no hope of that changing anytime soon, in fact it could even get worse. When you fall to a certain point it becomes every man for himself. Find a cheaper phone option and notify the SSI office of the change. And stop acting like this office is in China and open 8 minutes a year, nobody's buying it!
