will update soon, once i have a room

(copied from roughing the punter).

roll $755. had only 3 short naps, one in Mc gees car, the other 2 in various closets in the convention center of a large casino, and was never found without being able to slip out on my own. dont really have enough money to play anything, am losing slowly at $2-4 but still think im playing well. lesters nugget idea was a very bad no action game, so i went elsewhere. am waiting to check into my free room today, and i had no way to plug in my laptop and sit online earlier. and was too tired

also was too tired to play the tourny kingofdonks suggested, want to wait til im in a room, and have a good long rest, mcgee said i was being responsible by waiting to set up the stake some other time instead when well rested.

think i shouldve stayed in Jean.

also turned down a free meal with a girl named Monica who once dated Jamie Gold, who knows of lots of online blogs. because of the asian guy whod also be around who didnt like me, i was afraid i was being setup in some way because he knew i had over $300 in cash on me, and id had to rode in a limo with them. at first id have sworn this woman was really Prudence, she also said she once worked at the rio, possibly as a bartender? now she has a lot of money, but didnt really have a source of income, just plays a lot of poker

will update more when i have a room, and sleep--and the blog too of course
-------------------------------------------

also had a weird dream involving lightning making me have gay sex with some mexican guy from prison in a 3 way. hope they allow me to check in before 1pm, i seriously doubt it.

phones been dead, along with the laptop most of the time, no clothes but these 2 tshrits and no place to put anything, so cant get from Johnny. i dont know what to play, but know now is the time to sleep, not play, and i hope kingofdonks appreciates me not playing when i knew id not be at my best and wanting to put it off for a later time. roll is $755, at one point after leaving Jean i was up to $979.

and im sure this will be my last room. i think i should return to Jean and grind online, or take a room for a week and put 100% of the remaining roll into whatever wec suggests probaby BCP. of course now im too broke to do anything, including relocating.

even if i cant beat the rake playing $2-4 i think i should at least be breaking even, or not losing more than the rake

  1. Hang in there Tony, and keep blogging. It's interesting to hear how you're getting by day-to-day. Sleeping in those closets is kinda funny, but I'm sure you'd rather have a room or apartment.

I hope to be in Vegas in July - if you're still around, I'll try to help you out with some food or a stake.

    Good luck.

    1. thanks very much, ill certain still be in need of one, even if im better off than i am now. regardless of all the ridicule i got for it, (except from Mc Gee which speaks well of him) dont u think i did the right thing not taking and playing a stake from kingofdonks when too tired from lack of getting enough rest?

i know the reason i need more rest is im a lot older than most of the readers.

  2. Really think if you're going back to the on-line grind, Bovada's your best shot. But even as quick as they are with payouts, I don't think you have time to be waiting around to collect. Take 100 and sit in a 1-2 game somewhere and see what happens. You have to take some kind of action as you're slowly bleeding out.

    1. wecs solution of going thru 2p2 to instantly buy and sell on BCP is better and faster than bovada. am way too scared to sit in $1-2 with $50 or $100, i could lose it fast instead of slow, but everyone may be right about it being the only ticket out. i still need a loan or stake of at least $500 worth of buyins to play NOTHING else but $1-2, everyone who knows me well and isnt a troll know i beat it long term as long as im not stressed about losing my money, thats why it cannot be my money, then i play much better than i would on my own money. this shouldnt be so hard to understand. But some still have this peverse idea id play worse with a stake.

Well ... what can I even say? lol

btw -- I had a nice online chat with your mom the other day. You might want to call her and your son just to say "hi." It is what sons and fathers do.

This dream is the easiest ever to interpret, because Lightning does actually love his gay Mexican prison 3-ways.

  5. Tony just my two cents on things. From knowing u for awhile and reading your blog you win money at NL. That's your bread and butter. It's how u ran your roll up to 15000 awhile ago. No new info there. That's your only hope IMO short rolled or not, but it's your life. Good you didn't take a stake when u were tired but that's a generous offer from kingofdonka and he seems like a good guy so take him up on it if he offers again. You have done pretty good in a few tournaments. Worth the shot.

Ill be in town next week and might be able to meet up for a bit of poker. The tourneys haven't been too reliable at the Hard Rock tho but might be up for a short cash game if you're still in town

  6. Tony,

I just finished watching this film, and am wondering if you've ever seen it:

    http://www.amazon.com/Strike-Dice-Betting-my-Father/dp/B004ZZUL28/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365367780&sr=8-1&keywords=Strike+dice

If not, you SHOULD - you can rent it for $1.99 on Amazon.com

I would really be interested in what you think about it, and if you see any parallels to your own life. I'd also like to know what you think about how it ends.

    Take care and good luck.

    1. watching long videos always adds $10 to my internet monthly bill, so ive been trying to avoid that. couldnt pay it anyway.

    2. You are great at excuses for things that interfere with your true ambitions.

    3. Tony, just find a WiFi connection and you can download the film to your computer - then watch it offline. Total cost = $1.99

    4. Tony's not going to pay the 1.99 for something he doesn't care about.

If it was called "how to beat VBJ" or "two girls one professional machine player and a casino broom closet " he would be all over it.

  7. You're on the fast train to Brokeville. Prepare for the worst while you still have some $$$ in your pocket and aren't completely desperate. In other words, get a job NOW because they'll smell desperation on you when you need the money. Check in with Walmart or Target or ANYWHERE and see if they can do anything! Check in with the halfway homes that others have suggested. Stop the gambling ASAP!

  9. Tony - this is a quote from you on RTP
"sure i did better when i played poker, but ONLY when i had a large enough roll to play NL. it was easy to make money at poker with a bank of $3000-5000. but without any money, what other choice did i have but to play in Jean? the free housing was extremely needed, and there certainly isnt any decent online site like stars available"

Why don't you move to Canada so you can sit in a room and grind Stars all day?

    1. if i had a passport and enough money for a place to live, since Canada is freezing bitter cold, i would

    2. Tony, as I am perhaps your only Canadian reader I'm going to go ahead and weigh in here. Not only do I live in the land of "freezing bitter cold" but I am not even in the Southern part of the country. Look way up past the border, yep, keep going and you will find the modest city where I live. One thing you need to remember is that even in parts of the world that are "freezing bitter cold", summer still occurs. In fact we have already had a few days above freezing and I've been outside running and playing with the kids in just a t-shirt and shorts. Later in the summer months temperatures might even reach *gasp* 90F!! Anyway, sorry for blowing one of your excuses out of the water. Goodluck with your closets.

    3. There are at least 2 of us. Since I live in the Vancouver area, it is rarely "freezing bitter cold", but it is quite wet most of the time. Summer though, is quite dry and warm.

M.Prosk, Tony probably needs a winter jacket in temperature that you venture out in shirt and shorts, us Canucks are used to "freezing bitter cold".

  10. won $12 in $2-4 tonight, at one point was up $54. and was also down over $40 once. its hard to win at this limit, new roll $767

    ReplyDelete
  11. Tony,

$2-4 limit will bleed you off slowly. I have played at lot of limit poker and at that level you are wasting your time and what little is left of your roll.
Perhaps at a $3 rake (which I believe you mentioned before), maybe you have a chance of making a little..depending on table. What is the rake and drops where you are playing? I have never seen a $3 rake in Vegas.

What is going on with the Social Security? Are you still "comfortable" enough that it is too much hassle to fight for?. Sleeping in closets, probably hungry, I just do not get it. You should be at that office every day all week, if that is what it takes.

You need to do something and $2-4 limit poker is not the answer.

    1. they are in the next level of the appeal, theres NOTHING at the SSI office to do, and all i can do is wait about a year while they decide, or if i find an atty willing to help for free, or a doctor, go over and see them. the one on roughing the punter turned out to not be legit of course, he never anwered me back. all the work with ssi has been done, all i can do is wait til i have the help of a dr or atty.

also theres no different between the drop and the rake, means the same thing.

      Delete
    2. Stack may be referring to the jackpot drop, which is different than the rake.

      Delete
    3. Rake = house cut for offering the game, drop is often assumed to be a jackpot or promotion everywhere other than California where the drop is the rake.

Jon S - I tried to register under a different name and it was rejected so I re tried under this name assuming recognition would help.

Tony - do you think the doctor and attorney are going to magically appear at the SSI office if you wish hard enough, much like your hope of getting a girlfriend and a large loan not a stake?

  12. Hi Tony,

You must be so very stressed out but before we get to that....

I want to thank KING OF DONKS for his kindness of paying your internet bill. I think he should be renamed the King of Kindness.

Anyway, hang in there....review all of your options once you've had a decent night's sleep and think about a good plan for the next week or so. Take it day by day.

Tony, play some 1-2NL. Play a little hit & run...wait for a good hand - win some money and leave and for goodness sake STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ALL MACHINE PLAY. Baby, you can't afford it. POKER BABY!

    1. I seriously think that's the only answer...find a drunken tourist game, buy-in for 100, play TAG, and cash.
Tony, if you continue playing for pennies on-line, or sticking bills into any kind of machine, you will be completely broke soon. You will have nothing, including no food or shelter. Zip, Zero, Nada, NOTHING. Your internet access/phone will be next and you will be completely out-of-touch with what you would probably call your "support group"-here, on the other blogs, twitter, etc. You will be ALONE!
You are running from, hiding from, and ignoring your dire situation. You continue to stay in your comfort zone, pretending everything will be fine and that you can survive playing/gambling the way you have been recently. You are wasting precious time and money, and you have little of either left. It's time to take action!! Get up right now, go look in a mirror and ask yourself this question-Am I a degenerate gambler or am I a POKER PLAYER? We all have our opinion on the answer to that question, but what is important is how YOU answer it. If you are a poker player (as I have always thought you to be) then GO PLAY POKER!! If you are a degenerate gambler, well then, best of luck to you on the streets, Tony.

    2. I really agree with Sorocco. I figure you think you cant play 1-2NL cuz you can't afford to jam with any two big cards. so what...so don't jam!

TONY I'VE PLAYED 1-2NL with you...sitting right next to you, in fact. I KNOW YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME WITHOUT LOSING YOUR SHIRT.

    3. Josie,

Respectfully, you're giving him bad advice. He doesn't have a reliable source of income like you or I do with full time jobs.

As someone he knows and trusts, you really should be telling him to stop playing. Tony needs to focus on getting himself away from the gambling scene altogether. He's rapidly spiraling downward and will wind up on a park bench or worse. Perhaps this is what he needs to catch a grasp of reality.

From what I've seen online, though, he does not have what it takes to beat the game. He should be crushing SWC but he's gone broke countless times. He should have been break even on lock or the other online sites but he's gone broke countless times. I don't think he's cut out for poker any longer.

Anyway, as someone he trusts, please try to encourage him to find other revenue sources such as the SSI help or the halfway house that others keep mentioning. There are resources available to him, but he continuously refuses to get help. Challenge him to do so.

      Delete
    4. Jew Boy, Tony is never ever going to try a halfway house or anything else that would seem logical, so I've stopped wasting the keystrokes. Now I try to encourage something that he MIGHT actually consider. My point is if he can throw away $57 on fucking video poker, why not put it to use in a place where he has a better chance of winning?

Believe me, I've told him to go home to Kansas, live with his mom for a little while, try to get a job there, play online there...see his son. He's told me more than once that he'd rather be homeless than live with his Mom in Kansas.

He's capable of playing live poker. He plays the polar opposite of how I play but he can do it.
