How and where do i find cheap housing?

http://twinfalls.craigslist.org/apa/3807360304.html this seems to be an excellent choice as far as cheap housing, only $100 a week or $375 for the entire month, problem is there is only 1 thats available, and it is NOT in NV, so i couldnt play on UP. But id gladly take it if anyone could get me in there for a month, and then id have to take a greyhound to Twin Falls also.

there is a shuttle bus going to Jackpot NV where there is a poker room takes about an hour on the bus and the bus only runs wed-sun.

Nicest thing is in a small town like that, id probably feel a lot safer being in a cheap motel, sure wouldnt feel safe in vegas, and not in reno either, probably would in Wells though. i wonder how easy it would be to earn the monthly rent on seals with clubs if i put all my roll there? the real issue is if theres only 1 room to rent at this motel, there would go the whole idea.

Britni used to find me suggestions like this on craigslist, in some of the weirdest towns and locations across the country, all were like way under $400 a month. some of them in weird locations like WY even. And today was NOT GOOD on the VBJ, i quit when it dropped to $1001 from $1110. there went back yesterday mornings $100 profit. Overall though, once I began playing properly again and limiting my max bet to 1%, i have actually done better than EV would suggest. up to $57 now in comps for when ill need to use comps again for rooms starting tues.

and the good news, i wont have to worry how i can go buy food. Not only was AKgal nice enough to mention she would be passing thru Jean within a day or so and could go buy walmart for me (with my money of course) Chad from TN who posts on my blog and RTP is also going to be in town next week, who ive met before. Chad had told me earlier in the day he would have a car, and be willing to get the food and come say hi out here in Jean. Am also hoping maybe we can go into Vegas and accomplish some other tasks while he is in town. He seems to be trustworthy from his facebook page.

and im back to about 290 seals, but still not nearly enough to be making any withdrawals yet, so no income for quite some time.

and no it dont bother me i never got on the list for public housing, i certainly dont expect to still be needing rental assistance 2-3 yrs down the road, nor be in vegas then. besides if a place opened today i might worry its in an unsafe area. although i know of some people in nice areas getting rental assistance how they do it is beyond me. the only thing id really like is my Apt in Lyons back, but in some small town in NV instead of in KS. But it cant be one of these border towns that dont work for online poker.

there were 2 young girls here who seemed to be in their early 20s with their grandmother, or at least they were calling her that. wouldnt thought she was old enough to be her grandma. anyway one of them came by, briefly scratched my back, and said she hoped i won, seen her do the same thing to another guy at the tables. wish i knew her facebook info, that was really nice of her. at first i wondered if she knew of my blog. and at the time it was very early on, i was actually $20 up. i didnt start losing until the one regular who plays all the time, (sometimes with his GF who also chain smokes) sat down with the cig. the one that hurt was when the dealer got BJ 4 hands in a row, when i had 3 spots out all with plus counts, dont remember ever seeing that before. but still overall im still up in cash from when i was at my lowest point a few days ago. i had $210 cash then plus the bank, now its $289 cash plus alot more in the bank with all them withdrawals. so im still about $250-300 better off.

and i got a food tix yesterday morning, so as soon as they change menus at 6am im ready to go eat, starving for a good meal, eating the last of peanut butter sandwiches, didnt want to eat before i slept, and when i woke up theyd already switched to the overnight menu at 10pm

consider my bankroll to be $80 lower because $80 of my huge past due internet needs paid immediately, have already got emails it could be shut off anytime, and the guy on the phone said they wouldnt do that until its 60 days overdue. i should call them again i think

need to figure out how to fix an alarm clock thats 1 hour 22 min fast, but i wont worry about it, will just look at phone and laptop until i change rooms. not worth bothering to fix.

I plugged your new home address into neighborhoodscout.com and I think you would enjoy your new digs:

    s.i.

134 3rd Avenue South, Twin Falls, ID 83301 is found within the neighborhood we call:

The City Center neighborhood of Twin Falls.

The description below refers to the neighborhood by that name. Please note this while reading your neighborhood description.

    Real Estate Prices and Overview
Median real estate prices in the City Center of Twin Falls are $94,741, which is less expensive than 92.3% of Idaho neighborhoods and 77.4% of all U.S. neighborhoods.

Average rental prices in Twin Falls City Center are currently $414, based on NeighborhoodScout's exclusive analysis. Rents here are currently lower in price then 80.6% of Idaho neighborhoods.

Twin Falls City Center is an urban neighborhood (based on population density) located in Twin Falls, Idaho.

    Notable & Unique Neighborhood Characteristics
Many things matter about a neighborhood, but the first thing most people notice is the way a neighborhood looks and its particular character.

    Notable & Unique: Diversity
Did you know that the Twin Falls City Center neighborhood has more Yugoslav and Dutch ancestry people living in it than nearly any neighborhood in America? It's true! In fact, 3.2% of this neighborhood's residents have Yugoslav ancestry and 4.9% have Dutch ancestry.

    Notable & Unique: People
Of particular note, 7.2% of the people in the City Center neighborhood currently reside in a correction facility, held due to punishment for a crime.

In addition, with a nice mix of college students, safety from crime, and decent walkability, the Twin Falls City Center neighborhood rates highly as a college student friendly place to live, and one that college students and their parents may want to consider. NeighborhoodScout's analysis shows that it rates more highly for a good place for college students to live than 86% of the neighborhoods in ID. This often also means that the area has certain amenities and services geared towards college students, from undergraduates to graduate students.

    The Neighbors
    The Neighbors: Income
Some neighborhoods with a lower average income may actually have a lower childhood poverty rate than another with a higher average income, and this helps us understand the conditions and character of a neighborhood.

The neighbors in the City Center neighborhood in Twin Falls are low income, making it among the lowest income neighborhoods in America. NeighborhoodScout's research shows that this neighborhood has an income lower than 91.9% of U.S. neighborhoods. With 17.6% of the children here below the federal poverty line, this neighborhood has a higher rate of childhood poverty than 58.6% of U.S. neighborhoods.

    The Neighbors: Ethnicity / Ancestry
Culture is shared learned behavior. We learn it from our parents, their parents, our houses of worship, and much of our culture – our learned behavior - comes from our ancestors. That is why ancestry and ethnicity can be so interesting and important to understand: places with concentrations of people of one or more ancestries often express those shared learned behaviors and this gives each neighborhood its own culture. Even different neighborhoods in the same city can have drastically different cultures. In the City Center neighborhood in Twin Falls, ID, residents most commonly identify their ethnicity or ancestry as Mexican (11.6%). There are also a number of people of Irish ancestry (10.0%) , and residents who report German roots (8.8%) , and some of the residents are also of English ancestry (6.8%) , along with some Dutch ancestry residents (4.9%), among others.

  2. Frostystink just to address your ridiculous post on RTP. I don't really give a fuck what Tony or anyone else thinks about gays or minorities. People have a right to feel any way they want. If they actually do something that violates someone's rights then they will be held accountable. Don't worry about me. Tony seems to take up enough of your time. If you're gonna play the PC card you might wanna temper some of your posts. Can't have it both ways. Pretty typical tho. It's ok for you to make derogatory comments just not Tony. Where was the outrage over at RTP when some douche used the word chink in a post. Only Pokerdogg said something. No response from anyone else but you guys are so concerned about racism. Bullshit. It's just another good reason to bash Tony. Don't get me wrong he shouldn't say those things but there's a lot of things said over there that shouldn't be said. Ok I've said my peace. Go back to your stalking. Enjoy.

    1. Your fallacies in your post:

      - tony can feel any way he wants about gays and minorities, but people can't fee how they want about his feelings, or the wrath of nottbc is coming

      - Tomy's derogatory comments are based on hateful feelings, other's derogatory comments towards him are based on what he actually says and does. When's the last time tony was beaten and robbed by a black guy?

      - some dude using the word chink was actually tony. Most posters don't bother individually responding to every single overt instance of racism or homophobia on his behalf

      - what's more indicitative of stalking - participating in an online discussion board, or showing up to someone's hotel and driving them around and giving them food?

      Delete
    2. this is 100% not true, most of my feelings toward certain minorities are due to certain past bad experiences. Mainly its because i dont like racism, and i feel a lot of those groups are very biased against people of my ethniticity. and i never ever used the word chink, do a search of that word on RTP and u will find out who used that word. Not even familiar with the word. Also ive never felt like u really care if ur posts are true or not, ur main interests are simply in saying anything negative. And ive always spoken well of Asians, they are quite honest and well educated, thats why i was surprised the guy made so many errs. mainly i was bothered by his cigarette and his stupidity. the only thing about him being asian was it made it difficult to understand his accent and thats always an irritant in talking to asians, especially a lot of these dealers, and ive always been angry about how unfair it is a lot of people cant get hired as dealers (one of the only jobs id really enjoy) and yet people overseas are hired and then bussed to the USA, this has a huge effect on the unemployment rate among americans, and we should all be very resentful of this. even asians living in america long term should resent this. Blacks should resent this, its pretty rare to find black dealers too.

    3. Frosty just a quick response. My point was that if people wanna take the high road and speak out against inappropriate comments regarding race or gays they shouldn't then use derogatory terms like retard or make personal attacks. Kinda hypocritical. Should be able to express yourself and make your point without the personal attacks.

Tony does say things that he shouldn't. I've also been around him a lot and have seen him talk with people of every race. If he truely had hate for those people I don't think he would do that. I think his opinions were probably formed more from fear and bad experiences not hate. If you are that interested in fighting racism or anti gay folks what else do you or anyone else do about it besides call Tony names.

Tony didn't use the word chink. Tar bash did then changed it to chinaman. Also made a derogatory comment on how Asians talk. If Tony said that there would be tons of comments and personal attacks. Only one person commented when someone else made a blatantly racist statement. Why was that?

I hardly stalk Tony. I've known him for three years and help him out as a friend. Maybe the concept is foreign to you. You and others get so worked up over a guy you've probably never met. Some people seem to follow his every move. I just think its odd to try to inject yourself so much in someone else's life that you don't even really know. I'm mainly referring to the other site.

    4. I've never called tony a retard on my own volition - I simply quoted him after he called a woman a retarded ugly old hag.

  3. One last thing. Since you and the other members of the PC police are so concerned about gays and minorities do something about it besides trash talking someone on a blog. He's probably not gonna change and he's not really doing any overt acts just expressing his views. I'm sure you can find some noble causes to assist gays and minorities. Share it with the others. Don't be a hypocrite. Become an activist. Change the world or STFU.

I think it's admirable (sincerely) that you help out Tony. I also think it's appropriate to challenge Tony on what he says and how he says it.

I am a member of the "PC police", so I fall somewhere in that group of folks that seem to frustrate you. To be fair, I do think there is a range of possible options that rest between "STFU" - "Change the world". I try to be an active ally for the GLBT community, but I've yet to change the world in a significant way.

Next time you're in Vegas, I'll buy you a beer and we'll talk it over.

    2. SI Ill take you up on that. Can't turn down free beer. Just wanna clarify a few things. My comments were directed at a select group of people posting over at another blog. Came across harsher than I wanted. My point was that some people were expressing outrage at Tonys comments about gays and minorities but in reality it's not an issue they do anything about any other time. I don't think someone needs to change the world but if its that important of an issue to them then do something else besides mick and berate Tony. That's not really doing much.

It's admirable that you are doing things for a cause you beleive in. We may have different thoughts on it biut Ive always believed people have a right to their own opinions. We may be polar opposites in out beliefs but that doesn't mean we wouldn't get along. You seemed like a nice guy the time we met in person. Funny thing is I've been accused in these blogs numerous times of being a racist however I've never posted anything of the sort ever. People have used my handle on one site to do that but a third grader should have been able to figure out it was some troll with too much time on their hands

I've always judged peoe on behavior not race. If I don't like certain people because of their behavior it's not based on hate its just my prerogative to like or not like who I choose. I don't bother others unless the cause me to. It's all pretty simple. It's a big world with a lot of different people. No need to hate anyone unless their behavior is affecting you in a real way.

Tony, do you remember that conversation we had when I was driving you back from the Strat to your apartment? About why you keep expressing this need to "feel safe" when you have had virtually nothing bad happen to you (safety-wise) despite spending many nights in Las Vegas and other cities? Just what exactly are you so freaking scared of?

    4. u dont know all the terrible bad experiences i had around minorities back in Toledo OH age 18-22, that have scared me for life about where ill live. one involved getting beat up at some older black ladys house who claimed to be a Christian, then lied to the police and claimed it never happened. others involved a guy coming in my room with his gun, and forcing me to give him money. and various other incidents.

the reason im more fearful now is Obama and Holder made it clear they will not prosecute if the offender is black, and the victim is white, remember the new black panther case that got dismissed. if a white person learns self defense he is given the George Zimmerman treatment. and in the eyes of Blacks, all hispanics are white, and they think im white and hispanic when really im white and native american. people dont even realize native american is a race anymore or think about it, its like we dont exist so they classify u as white or hispanic because they forget there are still Indians around. Also there is a lot of prejudice shown towards native americans, whites, and Jews that isnt ever shown towards blacks, asians or hispanics, so its why i defend those races alot harder.

    1. You should move to Boulder City. No machines or gambling within the city and it's far enough that it'd be a big deal to get in to Vegas to blow off on machines. If you had some self control and could stay off machines, you could take trips in to Vegas to play poker.

  7. ive found looking on craigslist for places outside of major cities is useless. the best way is to bring up that cities newspaper, then view their classified ads for rent. otherwise u will get ads several hundred miles away from where u want to live.

  8. Just to address one other thing that was brought up. I've said that being exposed to continuos name calling threats etc on these blogs COULD contribute to some of Tonys blowups in real life. It's not an excuse to do so. He has probably been teased all his life. Reading comments like that day after day year after year has to take somewhat of a toll. There's a big difference between constuctive critism and derogatory comments from the troll. Nothing wrong with telling him what he's doing wrong. I do it myself just not with the name calling and sometimes I do it off the blog.

I just have told him its not healthy to read all the derogatory comments that go over the top. It's usually a select few who follow him from blog to blog to harass him for some reason. I don't get it. If I hated someone that much I wouldn't read their blog. That simple. If he didn't edit the comments here it would turn into the circus that every other unedited blog did. A bunch of name calling threats and insults. Would any of you allow that on your personal blogs if you had one? I wouldn't.

  10. And just to be clear. It's not right to hate or dislike someone based on the color of their skin. It's not ok to hate someone based on sexual preference. You may not agree with it it may make you uncomfortable but its no reason to hate someone. Spewing racist or anti gay thoughts can make others unsympathetic to you and cause people to dislike you. Some thoughts are best kept to yourself. Tony that's my thought on it. Done without name calling or put downs. You're free to do what you want but know that there are repercussions to doing that. I think you'd come across as more likeable if you curbed that stuff. You come across much better in person.

There are some cheap places in Vegas - there are HOMES you can rent from $350 to $450.

Is the issue that you feel you don't have the discipline to avoid temptations if you're in Vegas, or that you don't think there's anything "safe" in your price range in Vegas?

    1. yeah i looked at that site, it said $100-500 a month, now the lowest one was around $400, and it wasnt in henderson at all, but NLV.

the real issue is with almost all landlords they wont rent to someone without proof of income except places by the week severly overpriced. nothing to do with other issues although safety is quite important and another serious issue is no way could i survive and make income if i took that much out upfront to get into housing. this wouldve been a great idea to get taken care of when i had money

      Delete
    2. Yeah, unfortunately people who have rental houses as an investment want to be sure they are going to get a good return on their investment so they are going to want proof of income. No one is going to want to rent to someone and risk losing out on that return if there is no proof that person can pay their rent. Otherwise, you have to go with the more expensive rent by the week places. They take a higher risk by renting to deadbeats, so they expect a higher return thus the higher rent prices. That's just basic economics.

I have friends who have investment properties and rent to low income people and it is a pain in the ass. You never know when they are going to stop paying, and they often trash the place when you kick them out. Even if you don't kick them out, they still do a lot of wear and tear.

I know I couldn't own rentals. I just invest my real estate portion of my investments in REITs.

    3. ive always considered myself one of the better tenants though. not drinking, not smoking, or using drugs, never having friends over, never having a party, with nothing ever being damaged, makes me a perfect tenant, because nothing is destroyed. just me alone, no kids, no pets, and i always move out if i know i cant continue to pay the rent instead of staying there not paying, claiming the money is on the way until u finally get fed up and go thru the court to get me out. i leave the first day its due to maintain good rental credit and the rent is always paid the day its due.

how i can possibly be a bad tenant simply because my income is unpredictable and comes from unconvential sources is impossible for me to understand. its so easy to get a new tenant immediately if u let another person just like me move in without too much upfront, so u cant use not being able to replace me as a tenant as an excuse.

although u are too PC to admit the truth, a lot of them deadbeat tenants either have kids, or one thing in common, (a different ethnic background)

      Delete
    4. Tony, if you could get past your prejudice you'd find the world a much safer and happier place. Here is my truth. I live in an apartment complex of 40 units just off the Strip. I haven't actually done a head-count by ethnicity, but I'd estimate "whites" are in the minority. The only person I used to find slightly intimidating was a white bounty-hunter who carries his rifle to the car when he heads out to work. We had a pot-luck here a couple of weeks ago and he turns out to be a nice guy. In fact irrespective of their race, most people here are friendly and quiet. This is not some PC veil that I am casting over the place. It's simply that the vast majority of people are decent and are getting on with the mundane but fundamental realities of life of working to pay their bills. Open your eyes.

      Delete
    5. u probably arent living in a place people pay by the week, and pretty much anything is safe by the strip except for by the stratosphere. most everything by the strip is really expensive. only in the bad area between paradise and maryland parkway does it get cheap

I hope you are not aiming for just "better than the absolute worst." And no -- you are not a perfect tenant. A perfect tenant would fulfill his contractual obligations and then move out. You still deprive the person renting property of income by suddenly moving out when you are obligated to pay, leaving them with an unplanned open unit.

    1. Cutter claims that site is no better than seals, others say the same thing, plus id have to commute to withdrawal, and they also dont have any omaha, so some of my friends suggest i just play on seals and dont worry about it

    2. they are wrong, and laughably so.

normally i don't write to you because it's completely pointless, but i felt it would be inhumane to not remind you that there are piles of money on ultimate poker waiting to be scooped up, and you're in the middle of nowhere playing blackjack and micro-stakes poker on a sketchy site using a currency that could become worthless at any moment. wow, tony, wow. i would laugh if it weren't so sad.

    3. but the games on seals are easier to beat, thats really all that matters

    4. How do you knowthe gameson Seals are easier than UP, when u have never played on UP?

    5. seals has omaha, UP does not as of yet, and i have an easier time beating omaha

    Friday and Saturday $45/night.

And could walk across to Mcdonalds and use free wifi to play online poker at Ultimate Poker.

thats like $73 in real money. or was.

its nice when u get to the HU portion of the tourney and u are a 45-55 dog in chips, and then ur opponent suddenly sits out the entire rest of the tourney, gaining u about $27 more bitcoin

    4. i didnt take first today, but i still made the money of course. buyin is a little over $12 in USD and there is usually 12-15 people in it, often an overlay, today the overlay translated into about $36 in USD. almost never play more than 1 table, i dont play more than 1 table live and i still win, so i dont understand the need to do differently online. also the list of games isnt very much

    5. If you win playing 1 table you will probably win more playing 2.

    6. you don't understand the need to play more than one table online? really??

how about to take more money?

I don't think there are many $12 tournaments live are there?

  22. need to contact verizon but im not able to reach the correct department i need to speak to til 8am. i went to make a partial payment of $40 on the $165 i currrently owe, and wanted to talk to someone about payment arrangements, and couldnt get my debit card zipcode to work paying online, and i had no idea what the bank had as my address. finally managed to get this straightened out with the bank, and went again to pay the bill online. sad thing it switched the amount i was planning to pay to the FULL BILL, not just the past due amount or the amount i wanted to pay, and now i need to call them and get this fixed, the lady was understanding but she went to transfer me to a different department that wasnt open til 8am. so i might be out quite a bit more money than intended.

other people, including everyone on this blog, never have to worry about paying their bills when they come due, because they can just use a credit card instead of a debit and get the bill later.

    1. We still have to pay our credit cards off each month. At least I do. I pay for everything I can on my credit cards to rack up the rewards points or cash back rewards. Then I pay the credit card full balance each month so I do not have to pay interest. Mostly I just save my Amazon rewards points and give myself a free present each year. Paying interest is for suckers. Other than my small mortgage I will never pay interest to anyone ever again. I'd rather earn interest than pay it.

But I always have the money on hand to pay my bills each month, and I budget everything out. I keep track of all money that hits I earn in May. Then on June 1, I assign every last dollar to my various bills, expenses, savings goals and investment goals. And my phone is synched up to my budget so anywhere I go, I know how much I have allocated to each category. So if a cool concert is coming to town that will cost $25, I will look at my Concert category. If I have at least $25 in there, I will buy a ticket. If not, I will skip it.

Wrong again. Those of us who are responsible realize that the credit card bill will come due and we will need money to pay or else pay huge amounts of interest. People with good incomes have expenses also. Just because one makes decent money doesn't mean that finances are never an issue. A credit card just delays paying the bill.

    3. where does most or income come from, working or gambling? if working, why did u have an account on RTP? thats a site for professional sportsbettors

      Delete
    4. Tony, one look at his RTP join date should answer the second part of your question.

      Delete
    5. The Internet is a free place for everyone to congregate. You're not a professional sports bettor either. You don't know the first thing about sports.

What people actually do is either make sure all bills and expenses are paid before gambling, or if a pro gambler they keep their gambling bankroll seperate from their regular life expenses money.

You're never going to get caught up on your bill paying $40 at a time. The balance owing will continue to grow, and their patience with you will lessen and lessen. Just bite the bullet and pay the full $80.

  24. Tony I have a job offer for you. It is in Boise Idaho pays $18.00 hr and $50.00 per Diem for living expenses. it will last 6 months. In that time you can make $30,000.00 plus with your $50.00 a day for living expenses you can rat-hole your whole check every week. I know you will find every excuse not to do it. but the offer is there. If interested I will give you my number later.

Unless this offer involves sexual favors or selling body parts, I strongly suggest you consider it.

Imagine what you could do with a 30k bankroll. You would be bankrolled for a life of 1/2 no limit with virtually no chance of ever going busto. It would be the answer to all your prayers/dreams.

    3. would like to know what the job is, if it would be too much for me physically, i tire very easily, hopefully it would be in the office. and why u think i would be able to do the job without experience. are u the one in charge of the hiring, and why u would have an office in idaho? if u dont want to post all the details here, u can send me a PM thru facebook that only i will see. sounds like it pays pretty well though and a lot better than a fast food job, im just worried i would lose the job within a week, almost every job i had 18-21 i would lose and is a large reason why i gave up on it.

    4. Tony:

Here's a tip - next time someone offers you a job for 30x your gross financial worth, don't start off with a list of reasons you can't/won't work, or a list of reason's you're likely to fail.

Start off with something along the lines of, "That sounds like a really exciting offer. Please give me more information, as it sounds like something in which I'd be very interested..." Try to remember the power of positive thinking!

    5. You won't tire easily after a few weeks of working AND eating right. You need to get foods with real nutrition in you, like green beans, broccoli, asparagus and other veggies.

Your body will easily adapt to living right and you will have more energy and not get tired.
