GET ME OUT OF HERE

Yeah, im sick of playing this VBJ and no longer have any confidence in my ability to win on it, and the only real time i had confidence in that is when Kimlee first made up the chart, and i had enough money to follow the chart. Even Cutter thinks his chart is no good, but he just wanted to see if i can follow it, by sticking to 1 spot and no martingaling. of course his chart is useless, (it has me betting $3 on neutral counts where i have no edge without comps). Oh, and i guess when i first came out to Jean last Nov i also had confidence id win on it. Now of course, someday, when i have a much much larger roll, i still think its a good machine and then im sure i will win on it overall.

I did so well at poker last week in vegas, and i know that Josie and the BlackPimp are right, and that i should be playing poker. (which is why i put $40in real cash =($100) on lock.) I'm currently not up on lock yet, but i should be playing a lot more at once as Vook suggested, and vook said all of the pros quit playing on lock, but i found out by asking at the table some of the other players were on intertops, so that dont mean anything. of course u cant chat on DON sngs, so that was a cash table i asked that at. what he said was that the tables hilighted in blue are the ones he thinks are segregated. But that cant be, some of those are $2 omaha8 ones, all the omaha ones are in blue, and some of the ones saying NEXUS and i dont have the slightest idea what that means.

Really though, its definitely live poker i want to play again and am tired of not playing. NOT online. I just have to pick the right games in Vegas, get my hours in, play games i can afford, (but still avoid $2-4 limit holdem) and not go on tilt. and of course, stay 100% away from any machines. especially the poor paying ones id always lose on at boulder and sams. 1c spin poker. I am thinking for me that will be the TX station game, the suncoast game (on the right day) samstown (thurs only) and possibly palace, boulder, or maybe the orleans or V omaha8. but i really dont know, as my bankroll is really limited. and i wish it wasnt limited so much to where i cant play NL. i might have a stake coming up in a couple weeks or so from a guy on facebook whose never staked me before when he gets into vegas. 3 $200 buyins for cash game, return the stake and 40% of the profits. of course, if i dont win, id get nothing. But it will end up falling thru just like all the other stakes i never got.

now of course, if i was much younger, in my 20s instead of my 40s, i would take that money with no fear, and play $1-2 NL in a second til id either had some good wins, or lost it all. why? because i wouldnt be too old to start back over out on the streets with nothing. the younger u are, the easier it is to be hired, be given cash panhandling, or to sleep outdoors. as far as that goes, the easier it would be to find some girl whod let u live with her, or even a gay guy if u are into that. Wish id not got pissed off at hooters and upset Mike the boss too many times when losing stressed over money.

too bad vegas has such poor choices for low rolls, compared to all the good choices LA has, but which are raked far too heavily. las vegas is basically only for those who can afford either $4-8 omaha and up or $1-2 NL and up. Still think Tampa is the much better choice, or small cardrooms in WA and deadwood. at least in tampa i could ALWAYS play 3-6 hilow around the clock with a lot less paid per orbit in blinds. i wonder if ill be getting any use out of that sleeping bag? and i worry about where ill store my clothes. am pretty sure its ONLY vegas casinos that let u store things at the bell desk and thats only cause in vegas casinos have hotels. u see if there is no hotel, there is no bell  desk to store luggage.

and i need to find out if Cutter can get me into samstown for 2 nights, or where else he might be able to get me into. would be nice if it could be in summerlin or tx station or boulder. just anywhere i can play games i can afford, such as half priced $4-8 blinds so the blinds wont eat me up, but still be able to beat the rake unlike $2-4 limit. i dont understand why so many casinos offer this for holdem, but not omaha. and i really need to find out just how good games might be on UP, and i wish Mc Gee or anyone else with as much UP experience (such as WSOP2007) would make a long detailed post in here about playing both mtts, sngs, and cash games on UP. would give me a better idea of what to expect, and i wonder how easy it would be to find normal full games instead of just 6 max. and its about time UP started offering omaha. maybe they would if the release of Caesars website wasnt being delayed.

yeah, feeling like u are going to lose, and knowing u cant afford a wide enough spread to be +ev without comps, doesnt make me feel too thrilled to sit down at the VBJ and play, and is why ive spent hardly any time at all on it lately and so much time sitting in the room finding ways to play online. and of course, makes me want to play poker in Vegas again. i really really miss the $1-2 NL games and days where id win $100-200 for the day instead of the tiny minuscule daily wins ive had in Jean. This feeling is fairly new (the feeling of wanting to spend all my time in my room to avoid playing the VBJ) because i used to want to spend as much time as i could on it feeling like i needed to to try and make money. now all i want is to try and do something else, and anytime get ahead, no matter how small, such as $8, i feel like quitting and cant with cutters system on a plus count, so then by the time the count is no longer good im always down. at one point this morning had i lost my double down id been down $75. eventually i quit the VBJ with a $7 loss, and then went and redeemed my unclaimed $18 cashback id not picked up for some time (u have to earn $180 comps to earn $18 cash) and id always picked it up much sooner in the past. so my new roll is now $1135. (not counting the money on lock) and it seems i got my rakeback on lock yesterday, it must be paid same day, recovering me $4. does anyone know exactly which sngs or games lock segregates? there was $77 on lock when i quit yesterday, and when i woke up today there was $81 on lock.

maybe its a good thing ive lost the confidence ill win on the VBJ, and want to get back to poker? only thing is with such little money i really dont know if i can win at it either, and certainly not by enough to pay for a place to live. Only if i was playing $1-2 NL would i be winning enough to afford housing. as long as i am still in Jean, i'll be spending even more time in my room on lock, and once im finished typing this post ill join additional tables than just the 1 i am in now for $10. (actually worth only $4) Yesterday i was doing 3 at once, but i think id be able to handle 6 without too much errs. of course when i play that many at once, they are not the same price. and theres none between $10 and $25. the ones between that are the $15 6 max ones, and i didnt want to play 6 max ones.

and now that lightning is gone theres no one to take me into vegas to play or to live. (only if i can get a lawyer or drs appt). isnt Josie supposed to come for the wsop? and wtf happened to Mr Cutts that was coming to vegas?

  2. another important reason to be back in vegas is i wont be able to afford my phone and internet bills anymore and since no one will pay them again, ill need to be where i can get free wifi. anxious to check out that new setup in the former goldspike downtown, is anyone willing to investigate it and post about it?

  3. think i am understanding vooks point about lock. u see anything i win (or lose) will be a smaller amount, therefore to win $40 in actual money, id essentially have to win $100. therefore maybe as soon as i am in vegas i can figure out how to get my documents ready to send off to Intertops. i was told i can take the shot from my cell, but i cant figure it out, never have understood that too well, wonder if Cutter or anyone else visiting Jean could figure out how to do it from a cell?

  5. I don't worry much about losing online poker funds. I don't panic-withdraw everything after a win for fear that a site might get shut down, the way you do. But I wouldn't put one red cent on Lock, and I can't believe you did. I think you'll never get it back. That site has turned into a pyramid scheme; they can only pay off withdrawals when they get more money deposited.

See Shamus's nice write-ups about the situation:

You're kinda caught in a bad spot. 1-2 I think has always been your best option however your roll is pretty low. You might be able to last longer in Jean but I doubt you will increase your roll, just keep a roof over your head and tread water. 1. and of course as everyone here knows, id much rather play on a NV site if they would just verify my location as NV. not my fault they control the way u get online, and make u either use wifi or a wired cable modem instead of any type of broadband aircard.

      Delete
  14. here is a post i made on 2+2 in the lock thread that describes why i deposited there. its a LONG post.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

reading this thread for the first time, and i just put money on lock a couple days ago. why did i put money there? here's why.

    1. i cannot get a NV ip address to play on any newly legal NV site, because i am on a 2 yr contract for a broadband aircard modem and those give out AZ or NJ ip addresses only.

    2. the casino ive been living at (goldstrike in Jean) dont offer free wifi like most places in vegas.

    3. i dont have a steady address, (like an apt where i pay bills) so i wouldnt be able to use wired cable to have a NV ip.

    4. i do horrible in 6 max games and 6 max sngs, and really wanted to be somewhere 10 max DON sngs run all the time. BCP and Bovada didnt have enough of these and a larger % seemed to be 6 max only.

    5. i tried to get on intertops but they didnt approve my documents, and im waiting for a friend to show me how to do this on my camera phone coming into town in a few days. they said they were'nt clear enough.

    6. i have very little money, and cant afford to risk losing this money. so i liked the idea of my $40 purchase of someone elses lock money thru BOA being $100 to play with on lock. i thought my money would go further this way. also i felt the games would be weak since all the good players stopped playing.

    7. i needed a site that allows player transfers, since i have no steady address to get a check at. 2+2 has always allowed transfers so people dont have to worry about having their money stuck on lock. im very amazed more people dont just use 2+2 and pay the vig so they dont have to wait.

    8. they say to "buy low and sell high" and i figured thats exactly what i was doing. lets say tomorrow lock decided to start accepting bitcoin deposits and withdraws. u see, lock money has nowhere to go but up.

    9. Being lock money is worth less, i can play $25 don sngs on lock with an actual cost of only 40% of that, which means i have a lot more buyins for my small roll. otherwise id have way too few buyins.

that being said, i still wish i had my intertops documents approved, and had other choices as to where to play. such as a place to live with free wifi in vegas and for wsop to open their site, and for both wsop and UP to start offering DON sngs. i fear no legal USA site will ever offer these and thats a big worry. u see, it was the only game i ever did really well at online, that was consistent with my poker skills. (my skill is playing with MANY players not with few, and i liked the way the games ended when down to 5 players. plus i liked the double or nothing Omaha8 games too).
    -----------------------------------

i wonder if the moderators in that trading forum thinking of changing the policy realized what a terrible harm it would be to all the 2+2 members least able to afford it, who depend on the trading forum to survive and remain indoors, pay their rent, food, phone and internet each week, and that is why they still allow lock trades. Believe me i wouldve been one of the ones horribly screwed had they done that after i bought the lock, fully expecting to be able to sell it back thru 2+2 anytime. seeing i have almost no money and no source of income, id been far more screwed than most, because others can afford to lose $10k without it affecting their life a lot more than i can afford to lose $100. the moderators should remember alot of us never bother reading these threads unless an emergency arises with a need to. about the only threads i frequent much are the UP poker thread and the backpage steve thread, and some of the poker game location BM threads. so of course we would be puchasing lock with no idea the powers that be were thinking of ending that.

if they do decide to end lock trades, can i please get a PM a few days ahead of time as a warning? once i can get set up on a legal NV site no hassles, and they start offering the games i want, ill no longer play on lock.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Tony -> pls stop talking on 2+2 about getting approved on intertops. And whatever you do don't mention any if the people trying to help you. Technically intertops is not allowing new US players to join. Only privately

I stil don't recommend playing on lock.

  15. anyway i busted out of that tourny and i had so many chips too. some donkey with a ton of chips named redacted, probably a mispelling of retarded. but my lock balance is up to $143. however if it was on another site, id have a bigger win because the money would be full dollar value.

Feel like going and eating in the buffet, sick of this food in my room, and would like zippy to send me an email. i dont know his email. He has the OLD number for me and not the new one, and u cannot send PMs on RTP like u can on AVP. But ive earned almost no comps the last 4 days in Cutters room because ive been afraid to play the VBJ, afraid ill lose. So i hate to be out $13 on the evening meal but i sure want some good much better tasting food and i cant afford to buy the kind that tastes good at walmart because that kind of stuff needs fridge and microwave, but its cheaper than eating in the buffet. and ive not seen Cutter at all since he gave me the room.

    1. then send me your cell # on AVP. If tatude takes you away from Jean, then there's no reason for me to go there. Tatude can take you to walmarts himself, right? I was trying to do you a favor, but it looks like there's bigger heroes in the room now.

    2. I just offered him a ride from Jean to Vegas this week if he got set up with a room. No plans to go to Walmarts. Pretty busy but if he gets some free rooms and needs a ride ill go get him. He's a big boy I'm sure hell decide what to do. If you wanna give him a ride great. I could think of a few things better to do than a one hour drive in 110 heat but I threw it out there if he was able to get free rooms. That was all.

  16. eating in the buffet, the buffet is $14 and thats more than rooms cost although today they cost more than that. and i did pay with comps instead of cash, because i guess ill be leaving Jean soon if i can get things worked out.

    ReplyDelete
  17. i know most will say it was a poor use of money but i just couldnt stand that shitty food anymore. they kind of overprice the buffet though and if my roll wasnt so tiny id saved the comps and used cash. i do really need to work on playing intertops instead of lock, id have made more money. hopefully the phone camera thing will resolve the issue and ill have no problem finding a buyer for my $140+ lock back

    ReplyDelete
  18. after eating so much, i feel like i just want to relax in the room, but im sure not earning much online since im not getting full value for it. wish i could just retire completely, which i should be able to do as old as i am and as many years as ive been playing poker. only thing is, i should have way over $50k now and be set for life. Then i could stay home and not gamble all the days i want. yeah i mismanaged my money in the past, but as long as u put the work in (work=time) it shouldnt matter if its +ev play or -ev play, they do affect ur income but they still involve just as much work. society sees it different however, and doesnt support those who play -ev games for a living like those who play +ev games? why? because society, just like woman, care only about money

Notice that Tony seems to feel that anything that takes up his time is work and should therefore be rewarded by society. Even if it involves doing nothing more than putting money into a machine that is guaranteed to spit less money out. I find this fascinating. There is no comprehension of the idea that most forms of work at least attempt to add something to society, even if it is only the tail-chasing obsession of consumerism. One could make the argument that sitting in a bar all day drinking is "work" since it takes up time and, man, those beers are heavy lifting.[/QUOTE]

    by Kat

now what this guy does for a living is play poker, so he also contributes nothing of any real value any more so than id be doing sitting at the same tables. so who is he to judge others? Just because he is making more than me due to him having a much bigger roll, doesnt make it right for him, and wrong for me. People need to get over this idea of it only being okay if they have a high standard of living, and it not being ok if they have such a low standard of living they cant afford anything. People should do what they are cut out for in life, regardless of whether it makes them any money. they wont change, and shouldnt.

    1. Tony, I think you misunderstood what Kat was saying. He is not saying society owes him anything for the choices he has made in life. He is saying that if you expect to get something back like a pension you have to put something in. Gambling is not putting anything away unless you fund your own pension through IRA's, savings, etc. Do you really believe that society owes you a retirement for being a addicted gambler?

      Delete
    2. Tony, Kat is making more than you for many reasons. He studies poker. He plays at the right places at the right times. He doesn't piss his money away by martingaling at a machine when he gets frustrated by a session where he loses. He treats poker like a regular job or profession.

I think about great athletes like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, two of my favorite all-time basketball players. Part of what made them great was not only their personal gifts in playing basketball, but their work ethic -- the countless hours they spent practicing their trade.

You may have have been cut out to play poker. You have an understanding of the game and are good with numbers. What I have never seen is the discipline necessary to be successful -- putting in the time reading and studying, controling your emotions, exhibiting the proper behavior at the table in order to maximize profits.

Your blog used to be about poker. More and more, you fixated on your desire to play VBJ. The move to Jean gave you what you were looking for -- like someone handing a junkie a big stash and saying "enjoy yourself." Look where you are now. It looks like that woody you have had for VBJ has finally been satisfied.

I have played poker with you enough times, I believe, to make some basic judgments about your play. I think would be able to make a profit playing O8. I do not think that you play well when buying in short in NL Hold em games. It would be relatively easy to fashion a plan for you to increase your chances for success at poker, but it would include doing many of the work ethic things as I previously mentioned. I have never seen you willing to do these things that other professional poker players do.

i find it funny how people in the lock thread say the site cant afford to pay anyone til more new deposits come in. no one is making new deposits anyway when they can get twice as much buying off others wanting to sell. thats not the case at all, sites dont make money off new players depositing, they make money off the RAKE. people sitting and playing is where the site makes its money. not off of deposits. thats a really dumb thing for so many on 2+2 to say.

I will not stake you or loan you money for reasons I have stated before. There are people who feels differently as history has shown. A crowd funding campaign may or may not work. It doesn't have to be a hand out, you can easily structure it as a loan or a stake, set out project criteria. But, you obviously are too smart to think of that.

  22. Lol @ 50k making you set for life! Shit, that's 2 years of life, if that! You are a lazy bum that just wants everything handed to them for free. You are not going to make a living playing poker... $1k is not enough to make it thru all the variance. Good luck with fantasyland

    1. 1k probably isnt, although many blog readers think it might be, particularly the black pimp, who needs to start posting here again. but 50k sure is, i could make $100,000 a year for life off of it invested wisely in the right things.

  23. "Wish id not got pissed off at hooters and upset Mike the boss too many times when losing stressed over money."

So, now we know what happened at Hooters, and why you got banned from there. Tony, your options for playing poker in Las Vegas are now so low, you might as well head for Reno, Laughlin or California.

"another important reason to be back in vegas is i wont be able to afford my phone and internet bills anymore and since no one will pay them again, ill need to be where i can get free wifi."

Pretty sad that after people bailed you out and got you back infront with free accomodation in Jean, and all your bills paid up to date, you now think it is more important to find a better card game where you will no doubt have a massive tilt and lose hundreds, rather than spend about $150 and keep your bills paid up to date. Well Tony I know one person who will not help you out financially again if you do not do this.

    1. Koala, most people consider having a roof overhead more important than phone or net, so its actually better to save up the money for that instead of phone and net, but ill see how it goes, i dont know this early what ill be able to afford, i never know from 1 day to the next. i do know ur offer was immensely helpful and provided me much needed time.

  24. You do know that bing powers Yahoo? Obviously not. And that Yahoo (bing) is shit compared to google.
The last time yahoo was a decent search engine was around 2001.

  25. "but as long as u put the work in (work=time) it shouldnt matter if its +ev play or -ev play, they do affect ur income but they still involve just as much work. society sees it different however, and doesnt support those who play -ev games for a living like those who play +ev games? why? because society, just like woman, care only about money"

Do you see the difference between someone who plays +EV games and someone who plays -EV games? The second person is making very poor choices. Should society reward people for making poor choices? Most people in the Republican party would say "No." You're going against the GOP, Tony. You've lost your way...

  26. new roll $1162, and am checked into a room for 1 day only in my own name, and sent zippy a PM on avp. really dont know my plans and tatude is still asleep, no one in vegas can get me a room if i went, and cutter wont be in vegas til wed, he is in laughlin. also i plan to sell the lock money back and get on either UP or intertops if at all possible

  27. Tony. Think. A site has no new deposits. They keep taking rake. When you have 100 beans and once a day you remove one bean, how many beans will you have after 100 days?

Hint: The answer is NOT "some beans, m'lord." ----posted by Kat

    ------
but what Kat forgets is the rake LOCK is taking isnt coming out of just lock deposits, its also coming out of intertops deposits, etc. all those sites are using the same network of players, at least for the smaller games. and theres so much total money on the network just the money already there would pay all the bills many years into the future.

  28. and of course the reason i hesitate to take food from zippy is the food will be of no use unless im sure im going to still be in Jean, which is probably what will happen if i cant get a room in vegas. im too afraid of sleeping outdoors to use the sleeping bag without it being an emergency. and being where i can play poker, not sure that qualifies.

  29. This is sad to even have to address some of the comments from the drama queens at RTP but just gonna set the record straight one last time. Ill keep it simple so that the few fucktards over there who act like gossiping schoolgirls can understand.

I haven't told Tony to not post at RTP to get more money. I actually thought it wasn't a bad idea for him to take the offer a few weeks ago but that's his business. I overall I've told him that there are a few trolls over there making the same stupid comments everyday and mist of the comments were negative but there was some good input also. It's really his business what he does not mine.

I voiced concerns about his job offer and actually spoke with Clint. In the end I told him he should give it a try. Clint got transferred that why the job fell thru.

I've know him for 3 years unlike alot of the shit talkers who post who haven't ever met him. I give him input on things with the caveat that he should do what he wants he's a grown man. Been consistent on telling him to get permanent housing stick to poker no machines and try to get on assistance. I've helped him with a few other issues. It's funny that people who make fun of him and harass him on the blogs then try to stir up trouble. He's smart enough to know who is trying to help him and who's mocking him. Not saying all my advice is right but its just given to him to consider.

Hopefully some of the posters over there find something more worthwhile in life to do. Don't understand the mentality but I don't associate with folks like that so I not understand. Why would someone devote that much energy to someone they don't even know is beyond my understanding.

    1. At the end of the day, you're the guy who's always willing to play poker with the gambling addict. You're also the guy constantly encouraging the gambling addict to gamble more, granted in what you perceive is the "correct" way for him to be gambling.

It's kind of like the guy trying to get the alcoholic to drink in the "correct" way by showing him some classier bars.

A real friend to Tony wouldn't support his addiction.

    2. Ok. Thanks for telling me how to be a friend. Tonys gonna do what he's gonna do. Been doing it for 20+ years. I've also tried to get him into programs and help him with other issues. Poker is a better option than machines IMO. I don't just hand him cash but hang out with him on occasion or give him rides etc no that I have to explain. He shouldn't be isolated because you don't agree with his lifestyle. He's not hurting anyone and has an interesting story which explains all the interests in his blog. He's gonna gamble regardless. Not gonna beat my head into a walk trying to stop him just try to steer him away from machines. They have been his downfall tho he's done fairly well with comps with this last one. He's kept a roof over his head. I think 1-2 NL is better for him but he can do what he wants.

  30. TT not mad and I don't hit women so you're safe. You give yourself way to much credit. Just a piece of advice I wouldn't think being from Toledo is something to admit. Anyway hope your broke ass has a nice weekend. Try to find something in your life that's interesting so you won't have to worry so much about others. It's gonna be a huge challenge for you but at least try. Try not to be a bitter old man for the rest of your life. TTYL :)

  31. in 5 DON sngs on lock, and not counting the lock poker money, the new roll is at $1224. won $12 VBJ, and the other $50 was won by spinning the wheel they do every fri and sun, many of the spaces are $2, i got extra lucky to get the $50. by far the highest prize. am trying to see if cutter can also get me 3 nights laughlin free so i can play poker at the riverside if not vegas. at least im laughlin im not trapped without transportation, there is a city bus if u reverse ahead of time to the galleria mall in henderson across from sunset station on weekends for $20 ran by the RTC.

  32. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Where do we stand on Operation GET. A. JOB.? I'm STILL willing to drive you wherever you need to go, as long as its forward progress towards receiving government assistance or finding a job. Are you willing to put in applications and accept work? Willing to invest a few small dollars into seeing a doctor? Willing to call legal back and schedule time to go see them?

Just calling isn't enough. Find out what documents you need in advance, what you can expect to accomplish during your meeting and what specifically you're asking for from legal.

Are you working on ANY of this?

I literally beg the rest of you blog readers.. do not further assist Tony UNLESS its in making forward progress towards a more stable, income generating life. He needs to either be declared fully disabled/incompetent or to get a job. There is no in between in society.. you're either one, or capable of the other.

  34. Tonys not going to get a job. He's going to scrape by until he can't anymore, and then he'll panhandle again......He's been circling the drain for quite a while at around 1k. He doesn't take good advice like yours. People have given him GREAT advice for years on his blogs. He has NOT ONCE taken that advice. TBC will do what TBC has always done. Nobody will change that, not even TBC.
