hi from starbucks at eastern and desert Inn las vegas

Vince is inside the doctors office up the street and he will be by to pick me up in like a half hour or so.

I met Nick from RTP last night, seems like a decent guy, (but i didnt get in a car with him) to go anywhere. am wondering if he is now suspicious of that VBJ machine, dont think he won on it from his last post on RTP. met him yesterday at TX and he got my food, which was very nice at Fatburgers sat and talked and earlier he played $2-6 spread limit with me a little while. at one point, i was up as much as $140 in that game after early on being stuck about $80 or so then i won a big pot before he arrived, and gave back my NL overs button immediately after winning it with the nut flush against a drunk.

then final 2-3 orbits really pissed me off as i lost back all the win but $50 (never can seem to get a BIG win in vegas anymore) so i left with a roll of $1040, much less than the $1130 i was briefly at at the high water mark.

Vince has been very helpful in letting me stay there a while and rides back and forth to the casinos for the $40 he owes me that he cant pay. He's been making way less at work, would like to find another dealing job instead of working for cox cable, and his other roommate lost most of his bankroll and hes worried how he will collect his rent.

im going to see about those 3 free nites, but i think i need to either get back to the commerce, (maybe even back to Jean if i stick to 1 hand and quit wasting money on wifi) or maybe down to the riverside in Laughlin. i dont think i have enough for any game in vegas except texas station and its too easy to lose money fast in that game if u are getting sucked out on and without a working phone, UP is not an option. its just i worry i was overly lucky at the commerce the last time and that i will NOT be the next time. i wonder how id done had i done only 1 hand the entire time i was in Jean, or how id done playing sams or texas or suncoast had i not got off the bus and came straight into vegas with the whole $1600. also i need to go by a virgin mobile store, see if they can turn on a phone for $30 and if it will work for UP. its a really shitty phone but u can get email on it. its the old style flip open phones.

ive forgotten what day lightning is supposed to be here.

  1. Glad to hear you are doing your part to help Vince out with that $40 loan. Good luck wherever you land....

  2. Lightning and his brother will be in Vegas starting Sept 1, which is next Sunday. Also, Lightning's brother has mentioned buying you dinner at Gordon Ramsey's steakhouse. (hint: it would be a very nice meal, although I know you prefer chicken fried steak)

    1. LOL Josie. :) I don't think Tony would pass the dress code at Steak and I couldn't afford paying for MY OWN meal there! I'm just a poor, retired teacher. Burger King, yes, for you or Tony but, alas, O'Shea's is gone. Maybe In and Out Burger.

    2. I am pretty sure that the King of Komps would not be buying Tony dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak. Maybe a $3.99 special at Steak 'n Shake, but even that is not a gimme.

  3. You didn't come straight to Vegas with $1600. You paid an extra $25 to go directly to the VBJ machine and blow $600 in 4 days.....then you went to Vegas where there is live poker...and since then your roll has been steady.

Now you are considering going back to Jean. Quit obsessing over VBJ and play solid poker somewhere....it's the only way.

  4. Tony I'm not sure Vince wants you airing his financial life on your blog. I know I wouldn't want people to know those details.

  5. It's funny how you travel around looking for some kind of magical fairy tail poker game that doesn't exist.

  6. Tony, I too remember Thunder's offer for dinner at Gordon Ramsey. You should definitely take him up on it. While you may not like steak, and you say you don't drink, I'm willing to bet a nice $65 filet and a couple of $16 glasses of Cabernet may change your mind as to both. Plus, you can get a nice appetizer of your choosing and really put a dent in Thunder's sweet, sweet roll.

  9. serious question:

you say it is worthless to keep statistics on your play because the players are different each time you play. why do you think you can find a beatable game? won't the players be different each time?

  12. Tony, my roll is currently only $160 and since your roll is so much bigger than mine and it would be the Christian thing to do to help someone in need with less money than someone as rich as you; would you be willing to stake me in some games this week in Vegas?

    Thanks,
    James

    3. pretty sure this is James from NJ, who used to call himself martingale, that may be his bankroll for poker, but he certainly isnt anywhere near as bad off as me, without a car, an income or a place to live. i need it more than him of course. i meant when im no longer stressed for money myself i feel i owe it to help others, not while im still in such dire shape. actually i was ignoring him, but since u trusted me not to be (thanks) now i felt like i owed it to respond.

  18. after Nick picked me up in his car and then it went out on us and we sat near an auto parts store for about an hour while we waited for it to cool enough to pour in antifreeze, we then went to the V, where i did quite good, but then later we went to the Palms got longhauled bigtime in a cab since he drank too much to drive, and found out the Palms manager reads my blog. guy calls my allin $132 preflop with 10-2 hearts preflop (wtf) and won with 22. still at $1280 though, $100 profit for the day, did quite well at the V earlier. my room ends in the morning and i might end up staying in Jean for fri and sat with comps already earned, but ill have a ride to play poker if i do

What is the point of this exercise??? Just keep grinding till you go broke or end up locked up. Oh well I have to eat dinner now my wife is calling me.

Are you barred at TI ? They have running a promotion for a long time where you get paid $599 a week for playing 60 hrs. You also get $2 an hr in comps on top of that....That's $12 an hr plus any profit you make in the game.
