now everyone will understand why i belong in Jean or CA instead of vegas

not only did i blow way too much at Palace station on VP (which i then won back later on the VBJ at slots of fun, today i blew way too much at slots of fun betting way too high on the same VBJ (once i got stuck i bet about $250 on one round of bets, which lost) and my new roll is down to $2900 now, and i still need to send mom and son their Christmas, king of donks even sent me a text reminding me of this. too bad neither of them has a paypal, it makes sending cash a pain in the ass. i see ads for $1 WU, but there isnt a WU anymore in Lyons, the closest one is 9 miles away and my mom would be pissed if i did that instead of mailing a check.

the morning started off badly, (had $3443) and i went to use my riviera coupon book on the way to slots of fun when i woke up about 6am. lost BOTH the $10 BJ match play, and the $25 BJ match play so walked out of there pissed, (still with way too much cash on me--$882--even after the $1200 deposit in cali--due to wins since leaving cali). and by the time i quit playing the VBJ at slots of fun, i was down to $372 in cash. seems all my problems stem from having too much cash on me at times. but im sure not spending a ton of money to go to a bank before i play in a cab, and then not having enough for doubles and splits, nor am i leaving it in the hotel room i was checking out of. not really a good solution unless u have a long term place to live no other person lives but u. in commerce theres an excellent solution, ur money is at the cage which is an easy walk from ur table. but in vegas they do that for hotel guests only and i have to constantly change casinos for 1 day at a time because if u stay 2 nights instead of 1, u only get the coupon book once.

but yeah in Jean the VBJ gives MUCH better odds and payback and rules than the one at slots of fun here in vegas, even though slots of fun can pass 100% i think. difference being i think the one here in vegas needs the comps to make it plus EV and Jean can be plus EV without the 1% comps.

and the loss was made so much worse by the huge bet on the final hand. one piece of good news, if i am still around vegas in jan and feb, i have $75 more in free play coming for both of those 2 months. Thats if i dont go to Biloxi for the promo. or back to commerce where hopefully i can still win at the same rate i was, although some think i just ran really above average both trips. i seriously wouldnt know without making 100 more trips.

so how am i supposed to survive in vegas with only $2900 unless i move back into Vinces, which of course he would let me do, with a new price of $75 a week instead of $70.

Herbie thinks i should do the LVH freeroll this week, there will only be 6-7 of us splitting up $2500 and its chopped without playing any time less than 20 qualify. but do i have time, and will enough show up for there to be a game? its pretty dead over there. ill be there at noon today, and hopefully others show up too. otherwise if no game i cant get the hours in and i fear once they get their hours there will be no game all day friday, and i really need to include friday to make it. freeroll is 11am saturday.

maybe one of u will come qualify seeing its $20 hour (with double hours +EV) but we have to keep the game going. at night its easier to get it going sometimes, more tourists. id hate to get slightly under 24 hours, then not be a game to get the remainder of the time in. 25 hours wins u the minimum, 30 hours for the maximum. i got between 6-7 hours last night. Mark would certainly appreciate it if readers showed up. i found out i had $39 in food comps there too, so i can eat a few cheap meals.

im sick enough i missed out on the stations freeroll, that wouldve been easy money and i was about 8 hours short. potential of really big money if u do well in that tourny.

lets hope the hot water works in the shower here. i never could get it to work at the riveira, and didnt test it at palace. and i wish id made one final attempt to go back by that motel near commerce i left the bags just in case my stuff was still there before i left. my mother told me i was about at the bottom in judgement according to the mental health doctors as a teenager. and thats my worst subject. my highest was in my other type of intelligence.

yeah i wish id used the $3400 roll for poker, id like to know how id done with the higher roll. i told lightning i was going to the wynn, but instead im in my room on bovada. im worried $2900 isnt enough for $1-2 and $1-3 NL in vegas, but it seems its what im playing anyway. certainly isnt enough to travel to KS NOW. but later in the year works out better.

nor am i worried about NewYearsEve. ill either go to Jean, cali or stay at vinces a few days.

  1. Yes Tony. It's pretty clear you lack good judgment. It's a shame, because your inability to make good decisions keeps costing you over and over and over. It's hard to see how you can improve your current situation given your inability to exercise any semblance of decent judgment.

    1. +1. Tony, it's not the cash on hand that causes you to lose... it's the inability to say no - your addiction to gambling.

  2. Tony. This is a strawman argument.

Who told you to go to Vegas to play VBJ or VP? No one!

  3. My plan was to win the megamillions lotto drawing last night and fly to Vegas today and buy a 43rd floor 3 bedroom condo at Turnberry Towers on Friday. So I could have played at LVH right across the street to keep the poker game going and rack up freeroll hours if I had won the megamillions drawing Tuesday night. Dangit...

PS: I suspect big HOA fees but if I had won the megamillions drawing an inflated HOA would not matter....

    1. Actually HOA fees are pretty reasonable compared to Mandarin Oriental ($1500 a month!) and it's a cute little hi-rise. There are still issues with the pool on the 222 side but I'll live.

  4. How do you know the VBJ in Jean is +EV (i.e. countable). You've never put in a shred of effort to find out if the virtual shuffle representation is accurate. Instead you just hope it is. A real AP risking his life roll on a machine would damn sure verify his assumptions are correct first. But you're just too lazy.

    1. practically every AP on RTP claimed the machine is beatable and accurate on the count, some with far more knowledge than u, and u would never accept it. i do about 100x better on the Jean machine than the circus one so im sure its true.

    2. No, I wouldn't accept someones word. I would verify myself by analyzing observed data.

  5. Tony your life will never change because all you keep doing is the same thing. I actually feel sorry for you but I still dislike you for a number of reasons.

Almost 99% of people who come across your story actually start out rooting for you and I was one of them many years ago.

All by yourself you turn them around by your words and actions and all of a sudden most of them are rooting against you. Well done.

  6. It doesn't matter if WE understand. However, I believe you might be a bit remiss in YOUR understanding. NUMEROUS times you came to the very correct conclusion that you should not be playing the machines and you make a good move, then on a sheer whim, you RETRACT your good move. Look, it's not that all your decisions are bad; it's that once you've made a good decision, you find it difficult to stick by it. You and Herbie need to find a +EV situation, share an apartment, maybe get your teeth cleaned (decent women HATE bad breath/rotting teeth) and exercise some patience in building your roll.

  7. Exactly what is your plan in Biloxi? I live here and can give you any info you need. Hotels are somewhat affordable but there is no public transportation and no hotels within walking distance to casinos.

    1. i was told the motel for $202 a week with kitchenettes was within 6 blocks of the poker room, and theres a big sign next to a bridge. and when i was last there, there was a bus connecting gulfport and biloxi, although it didnt run many hours. dont know why it would no longer run. the bus looked like little trolley cars.

the promo would, if i played all month, would gain me $1200 so if i won $2k id actually get $3200. ($1200 to be paid at the end). if i did poor and lost $200 for the month, id still win $1000

      Delete
    2. Doing poor means losing 200, but doing well means winning 2000? If you can win 2000, you can lose 2000.

  9. if what this guy posts is true, maybe i should play here. that way u avoid horrendous drops on very small pots.

Technically speaking, Players Club is now called Players Casino since they moved a couple of years ago and added "California Games" in the back. I recommend it. Friendly, low key place. Reg infested but that's nothing to worry about IMO. They have a small jackpot that starts at $1k and goes up $100 a day. Obviously it's nothing life changing since it usually hits by the time it gets to $3-4k if not sooner, but it's all house funded. No drop for it. Also, not only no flop no drop, but no drop on any pot won under $19.

  10. Antonio. You just lost $700 in two days. Take a breather before it gets worse.

    ReplyDelete
  11. $202 a week translates to a little over $810 a month (average 30 days a month). Your roll is $2700. What if you have a losing week or two and you need to pay rent??? You worry about tough games but not a game being reg infesyed. Am I missing something in your logic/math?

    3. remember guys, if this was the real alysia chang, and she was serious, she wouldnt suggest skydiving. shed suggest something i might actually try. remember i wouldve been willing to go hiking with claudia til grump said id be unable to survive at it, just to be in her presence.

    4. Tony, you would have survived that hike. grump just said that so he could bang Claudia out on the trail.

  13. lost $266 on VBJ slots of fun, new roll $2434. shouldve never left LA unless God is punishing me for not going home to KS

    1. That is certainly not the only thing God is punishing you for...after all you are a fake Christian which is a sin.

You gamble - you covet your neighbors/friends goods, gf's and wives, etc and are a jealous, hateful, bitter person.

      Delete
    2. You can leave the "should never have left LA..." stuff in the garbage. The translation is "I'M A GAMBLING ADDICT AND AM UNABLE TO CONTROL MY IMPULSE TO GAMBLE ON -EV MACHINES."

It's not "LA" and it's not "Jean", nor is it "Las Vegas". It's your addiction to gambling and your refusal to do anything about it.

      Regardless - best of luck.

    4. seattle irish, by relocating to a part of the country no machines existed, i was doing my part to stay away from them. u got to admit, while i was in los angeles, i never lost a penny sticking money into a machine. so why is that such a bad idea in ur opinoin?

      Delete
    5. Tony:

It's not a bad idea to go to LA. Avoiding addiction triggers is important.

However, you've never been able to avoid machines for long; you've continually gone back to places that have machines and youv'e continually tossed money away on them.

Knowing you won't be able to resist some impulse to come back to Vegas (or AC, or Miss, or Reno, etc...), you will continually be facing the teeth of your addiction and your failure to address that will keep this cycle going.

Still - I wish you the best.

  14. I have been following TBC for a year and half now. Someone once said " the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results" this applies to all losing gamblers. I know because I am one of them. I am retired and have a home, food, and a wife who takes care of me. I am very lucky and I know this. I am just going to wish TBC a Merry Christmas and hope everything works out for him. Keep plugging away. Thats all any of us can do...

  15. new roll $2222 but thanks to Andy, its now back to $2247. i am NEVER NEVER ever going to play at the LVH again. way too many of the players are jackasses, especially Isaac and Richard, and its by far the worst game in town. SI was right i should play with tourists, and Herbie was wrong.

    2. Indeed. I actually had a protein shake and went to the gym here at Peppermill before going into my cash game last night. I actually felt relaxed and alert before dominating the table. Mooohhaaaaahaaaa. I freakin' love Reno. But no, TBC should not come here. It's full of regs and he wouldn't take care of himself to keep himself alert and there are dem machines.

  18. Okay you went to LA and your roll swelled to over $3k. You get back to Vegas and it's in danger of falling below $2k. Do you see a cause and effect here? Have you been sleepwalking through life not understanding this? If you are such an awesome poker player, how is it that you've been doing this for 20 years and your roll is almost depleted? Connect the dota, man.

It's not working or you wouldn't be swimming in circles.obviously you have survival skills figure out a way to get your roll up to say 4k and head home to your mom get a job and stay rooted in the gospel really you have no other sane clean outs. It's funny at the nugget 2 summers ago I think you thought I was staring at you and asked me if I was poker monkey I should of tried to help you then, take my advice get away from the grind it's eating up your witness....gl

  20. i have my roll back to $2320, and i qualify now for tomorrows freeroll chop, but i feel like a big donkey and i messaged SI and called lightning about it.

i made the worst fold ever preflop, and almost as bad a fold earlier with AQ to a button raiser in the BB. after losing so much this week, i had my $40 min buy up to $180, and i just didnt want to lose it all back.

game was unbelievably good for LV. all the grinders had left, 3 guys from KS, young kids, old drunken cowboy, others from cali, guy who didnt know the rules, etc. ive never seen a table that easy and i wasnt getting nothing to play and i didnt want to lose it back.

i have TT and finally call $2, older drunk whose got a mountain of chips and been busting everyone playing extra loose makes it $20 and a brand new player calls. i fold, because im playing scared. flop comes T64 with 2 diamonds. old guy bets $30 and guy calls. turn comes 2 of diamonds. he bets $50 other guy calls. river comes 6, so id have caught the nut full house. same guy puts the other guy allin for about $40 more and id scooped a massive pot, and all he had was 88 and the other guy couldnt even beat it.

i finally left but only cause i was so tired, that is NOT the type of game u should leave, but i dont have the roll and i need to get up in the morning to be there on time
