Palms poker promotion changing--lets hope the room dont close down--and i still dont have my bankroll back in shape.

also Carmen is out now--i sent her a text a few times about how its going at the Palms. shes doing well and is in school. much better than i am in fact. i couldve done well tonight--but i didnt--because i wouldnt quit with a $76 profit once dead tired and the bus was running--and kept right on playing--thru the morning crowd--and ended up with a $59 loss. and now i really am tired--so ill keep this much needed update a little shorter than Rob would keep it.

Speaking of Rob, a redhaired older lady and her asian BF who play here daily sure seem like they could be Prudence from the way she talks about her breasts giving her a big pair, although he isnt named Tom, so i guess it isnt, also i assumed Prudence is much slimmer and younger.

heres the rules on bravo ive often been asked about the Palms promotion by those too lazy to look it up.

and since they fired the manager who came up with this promotion (worth about $100-150 a day if u sit there 12 hours a day) more than im able to sit there at my age--i dont know what the Promo will be in Feb--and theyre not sure they will be able to even keep the room open.

but nothing will change til after the super bowl ive been told--so feel free to come on down tonight or tomorrow. if it ends--i dont have the slightest idea what i can afford to play or where ill go. ive been told Club fortune isnt often even running a game at night--curious how true this is.

and with that--i must sleep--will cali or vegas now be best for me? im afraid to give up my cheap place to live--nothing else will be that cheap ever--and im afraid ill lose there too. im one in a thousand who isnt comfortable sitting in a $1-2 NL game in vegas with only a $1500 roll. People first coming to america arriving in vegas for the first time would be thrilled with the potential opportunity with that same roll, but not me. im a realist and a very old man.

  1. Wow - a Rob joke (laughed at it!), you calling out others for being lazy, and the TBC version of the poker Statue of Liberty.

    Gold, Jerry -- GOLD!

  2. Tony:

You're 47. You're not a "very old man". Stop the negative thinking, cinch up your belt, and do what you do!

  3. LOL..... I've never known Prudence to play at the Palms. Or wear a red wig. And if she caught you thinking she's an "older lady" they're be hell to pay.

I'm interested to see what the Palms does with the poker room as well. I hope they keep it open. I know a fair number of people who work there, many of whom used to work at the M, and I'd hate to see them lose their jobs yet again.

  4. If your an old man then that explains why i need reading glasses now. And i can totally relate to sitting that long in a poker game. Good to see you finally wrote again.

  8. There are many 60 year olds who can sit 12 hours a day sessions playing poker. To say you can't at 47, wow you must be ill with some disease. 47 should be able to pull many all-nighters if need be.

  9. Tony: I think you need to book an extended stay at Casa St. Vincent de Las Vegas and as an experiment just try the panhandling thing for 7 to 14 days and see how your roll reacts? Oh, part of this experiment involves no poker, no vp/vbj, no scorpion fight betting. And... don't be a buzz kill at Vince's if he watchs the superbowl there. Maybe for once in your life swill a few beers with a friend and root with him for whatever team he is backing. I think if you spent ten bucks on chips and salsa and just told Vince hey bud I really appreciate you letting me rent from you so here's some superbowl goodies let's party bud I think that Vince would be pleasantly surprised...

  10. after spending the entire night at the Palms, after paying Vince $10 for gas (too late to go on the bus) and getting up $90 early on, then suddenly losing it all back plus $50 on a bunch of beats, got very frustrated and went out and played big split poker, lost another $91 playing it, went back in the poker room stuck alot for the day, then finally started hitting hands. got back to back same color aces once, and eventually left the game when it broke up $47 then went to circus, picked up the free play. am now going to sleep dead tired.

    1. Outstanding, Tony. Throw in hookers and you'd have almost all your worst flows summed up in one post. Tilting. Chasing. Machine-monkeying.

What would it really take for you to make a change? Apparently there is nothing done to date that has allowed you to learn from that experience. Same poor decisions every time.

I wish you the best, Tony.

  11. How can you play all night at one place and lose all your profits, but not play for 12 hours if you think its worth $100 to $150 to you? I know it must be tough for a 47-year-old guy, but I have to imagine the overnight session is pretty close to 12 hours anyway.

  12. rake has been changed to $3 and $2, other changes must not have been decided yet, and todays the last of my room at circus. new roll is $1846 after paying $23 for a haircut and beard removal.
