getting a few things taken care of thats been needing to get done

well i just got back to the house, and as usual, im playing online PLO8 while im eating a pizza that just got done in the microwave, while im updating the blog, dead tired and will sleep soon as this is taken care of. But of course, updating this blog is my primary responsibility i have in life.

So i went over to a store on rainbow planning to buy a laptop battery i was sure carried it, and they didnt have it. so i then went to another store on sahara, and they said they could order it for me and to pick it up in 5 business days, and they charged me $58 upfront which i paid. they also claimed that was less than most places would charge me-no idea if thats true.

So i still cant leave town yet (to keep me from playing VBJ) because of this wait--and the wait for that Permanent greendot visa to come in the mail carrying my name. im still doing quite well on the VBJ too--made another $180 today. also won both poker sessions, $185 at the V in the $1-2 and $228 at the stratosphere in the $1-2. have had almost zero losing sessions or days in the last few weeks. I was out like $400 or more on the VBJ at one point however.

and so id have less cash to help make sure i had no big loss, i went by the bank, gave them my correct address (instead of the gold strikes address theyd been using) and deposited $800.

my tooth isnt bugging me lately but of course it will still need done soon as i figure out who i want as the dentist sometime. just odd it dont bug me when i did so much a couple weeks ago. ive been avoiding sugar and cold ice though.

at a point last night--had bovada been included as part of my roll (which it cant of course) but if it had, my roll wouldve been around $6000. not bad considering where it was most of last year. and its nice to have a new phone again (my old smartphone is active again). but i think i got a bum charger--it charges at home--but wouldnt charge on the table at the V no matter which outlet i used and the battery dies extremely rapidly on playing any type of game on the cell, even if plugged in. i think it needs another new battery, and i need to take that into a store and have them look at it and find out whats wrong. its a $300 phone, or was when i bought it, i could probably get a bunch of money if i sold it on ebay, and i dont want it to have to be replaced. paid $15 just the day before for that bum charger too.

im curious to know--when am i ever going to start losing on the $1-2 NL, and on the VBJ? i am starting to lose on bovada--im down about $22 while typing up this blog post. usually im buying in $200 and playing 9 max $1-2 PLO8, but often thats not a game going with a seat open. (if its going, its full)

all the women i wish i had in my life, most all of them are on the bus, or walking down the street by a bus stop. wouldve liked to have taken pictures for u of 3 different ones today.

so what else should i get done besides seeing a dentist that is? ill have a working phone, working charger and working laptop on the bus soon i think. and no i havent given any women any money i feel like all the money needs to be stockpiled for massive losses that might be coming in the near future--and maybe a small portion of this should go for tourneys. to play daily $300 survivor ones ud need a massive roll of at least $15k. and id still like to relocate elsewhere.

YES!!!! Do this! Avoid offending and/or getting punched in the face, but snap a photo and post a link of a "TBC-Type". I think most people are curious as to what type of female you find attractive.

    Playing it softly,

  2. Glad to hear you are finally doing well Tony. Still think you should give your Mom and son a visit. You've got the ability to afford it now.

My advice however: continue to minimize the VBJ and VP. Remember those were the bad leaks before and could very easily become them again.

You're finally doing better because you're playing POKER. Please try and remember that.

    1. Wow Steve. Nobody has ever given tony that advice before. Gosh, I guess that's all he needed. Wow.

  3. Tony:

You might feel "rich" now. But you're not. Please believe this. You don't have money to waste. Not on VP . . . not on women . . . Don't travel anywhere. Keep focused on playing poker. Keep playing as if you only had $2,000. If you need to spend money on things you need - laptop . . . food . . . YOUR TOOTH!!! spend the money.

You're doing better than in years. Don't start slacking off!

    1. This,

Keep the mindset you have at $2,000 and jeep grinding. Of course no chance this will happen.

  4. TBC, come play 2/5 or 1/3 at the Wynn tonight/tomorrow. I'll be wearing my "+EV at the VBJ" T-shirt, so it shouldn't be hard to spot me.

  6. Tony, why on earth do you want to leave town? You've got your roll up to nearly $6k playing 1/2 NL in Vegas - just stay where you are, grind it out and stay off machines. You'll be fine.

I know you never listen to advice, but I'll be in Vegas last week of May - if you're still in town.

    1. no vegas dwp--thats not true. ive gotten my roll up that high, because ive been lucky--ran good--and won about $1000 of it on VBJ, and also that tourny win. im also doubting that will continue

    2. tony will run thinking he is leaving his bad luck behind him and then just spend his money on travel cost and then then run into bad luck on the road. then he will blame it on something or someone else then try to come back to vegas and cal. and then try to make a come back by sponging off his so called friends. IF he was smart he would vist his mother and son for a couple of weeks then come back to vegas and keep trying to build his roll up for the WSOP coming up soon.BUT we all know Tony and he will run untill he hits bottom again......

I am really confused. You're a DAD. I'm not sure if your definition of "primary responsibility" jibes with others'. Whatever. Look, a root canal and a dental implant for tooth #31 is going to set you back about $3k. Consider your sock roll at $2,000 if you want your tooth fixed right.

  9. ive taken the liberty to reprint part of Rays comments--so people can see why i trust him. he is a good man--his commitment and desire to please God is MORE important than his desire to do well at poker. it shows how his priorities are in the right place in life--and how mine are NOT. so im going to correct this. on Tues vince is going to store my refridge and micro, ill take an amtrak, visit mom and son for a week in KS on the way to toledo and then be where i am around someone i can relate to--who will make sure my priorities in life are where they should be--help me find a good church--and ask God to help me not be so bitter and angry towards others. i can also stop in IL and see lightning along the way. i emailed mom and talked to her about Ray too. (oddly enough--she dont read my blog or at least admit to it--and its just as well). has always said she was too afriad to.

our time on this earth is short--compared to our time AFTER we die. and the Bible says--what should it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? i need to repent of my sins--my anger towards people--my bitterness, envy and resentment--and ask God to give me self discipline, self control--and to live my life in a way where everyone would love and respect me and think this guy is a really good person at heart.

now here is what Ray said--The people i have met playing no limit hold em are totally diff. then the old men that grinded out a days wages. Its just diff. now for me that is all. Maybe it is better for you but the game led me to playing machines and taking chances i would never have done in the past. That took away from who i am and what i am and i lost sight of what life is really about. A pain i can't describe but only tell you was horrible. Losing site of who you really are is like turning the other cheek to god and what is right in this life. What is life without putting God first? Not a very good experience i can assure you that.

Besides that i am your friend, and sometimes when friends are honest it hurts but they mean well. Grinding out low limit poker in structured games was a fair way to make a wage daily, it seems to have turned into an ego marathon now.

Didn't mean to offend you, i am just partial to the game of Hold 'Em in general i think. I just flat out hate hold 'em. You know it wasn't meant to offend you, i have just found since the started this hold 'em game everywhere you can't find the old games at any casino's around me anymore. They don't play plo8, stud, stud hi low, it kinda wrecked what i loved to play is all. I am sure you know i didn't mean to offend you in particular i was taking out my anger about how it messed up the other games i loved to play. I guess those days are over in this area. I miss seven card stud, hi low, and limit omaha games, in michigan you can't do online poker yet. it really sux.

  10. ray--id like to further discuss ur poker abilities. i think the reason u feel the way u do about NL holdem--is u arent as good at it because u have no experience like i do. this is why u are bitter towards NL--and thats a sin u should ask God to forgive u of--and also of coming off as a smartass towards some of my closest friends.

i too love stud and omaha but those games arent coming back--and we have to deal with the reality. those games are more fun than omaha--but i was broke back then--u cant beat the rake in them--and in NL u can make real money. a good $1-2 NL player can make as much as $40-50k a year. Part of poker is learning how to read other players--thats the area u might lack.

i do agree however--those old time games do take more skill.

    1. what good does your experience do you? you're a weak tight passive slightly above break even player in 1/2 nl as a short stacker- and in many games you play in you're a dog.

  12. FWIW I see Card Player has a new article that agrees with my long time assessment that Los Angeles is the best place for a professional poker player (although LV is so close you can jump back and forth). Of course, everyone is different so one place might be better than another for a particular individual.

For those that have not seen the article....the list
    1. Los Angeles
    2. Ft Lauderdale
    3. Las Vegas
    4. Atlantic City
    5. Baltimore

  14. feels kind of like you WANT to lose...or need to i should say...youve been winning at poker, there is no reason to play VBJ or other -EV machines, you need to work on control to not play those, going somewhere else probably wont fix anything.

  15. Tony we've listened to and followed your problems finding affordable housing. This problem is solved! Your never ending low bankroll. Problem solved! You seem to have more friends and interaction with new people than I've ever seen. Go see your family for a while and come back but anything other than that and I'm starting to think you like the danger that comes with having a $1,200 net worth.

Tony, I don't know if anyone else noticed, but you said you were going to see your Mom and Son. This is wonderful news and I am very happy for you. You have had a great couple of weeks building up your roll. Now you can relax for a couple of weeks and spend time with your family and your friend. Your family is definitely the most important thing in your life. You may not realize that now, but one day you will. My mom passed away in 1995 and there is not one single day goes by when I wish I could just talk to her one more time.

Tony go and have your vacation, relax and enjoy your time out away from the stress of the tables. Take care.
