I moved to reno the other day, and i wont be around during the WSOP

well im holding my own at the poker in reno, winning a majority of my sessions, (although today i did just better than breaking even overall and yesterday i gave back the 2nd sessions win after holding onto the first sessions wins). actually ive done better at live table BJ the last 2 days than anything else. i didnt do so well online UP either since coming to reno--am out about $50 or so of what i had online.

the fridge, the microwave, the heater, the TV and the hot water work ok here--and thought the wifi worked ok too, but tonight it keeps going off. im better off playing live anyway--but wanted a chance to clear the UP promotion so i didnt deposit that $100 on there before leaving vegas for nothing.

havent visited all the poker rooms since coming to reno yet either. and ill soon get a chance to see a few other places also. ive still got about $3600 or so left after buying some groceries today etc.

what i am quite surprised by is how LOOSE the games have gotten in reno. sometimes 6-8 limpers preflop, deep chip stacks on the table, its sure not tight by any means--i expected the game to be far more tight. wonder if it being the weekend has anything to do with it? and ive not yet played any stud or omaha, just $1-2 NL.

found out my room comps offers have expired since they werent booked fast enough, so i had none to use. and also, Vince sent me a text that i got $40 in free play at dottys next time im back in vegas. probably will expire long before im back there. Was also hoping to spend more time with Nick than i did this weekend, but he pretty much dropped out of sight since he was with his girlfriend. also i got me a water pitcher today, and some cereal bowls for an unbelievably low price.

there sure are a TON of places for rent and not too expensive all up and down about every street. still not sure how long to stay here--and which place to commit to long term that would be more like an apt. or how long certain promotions will last. but the good news is--at least the poker games are LOOSE.

and my tooth was bothering me more again today--really worry about needing that dentist soon, and im much more broke than i was the earlier time i worried about it. Glad i still got the cricket--or id still be offline now. (am logged in, but cant get on UP--since im using cricket instead of wifi). also, im glad my phone works in reno too.

advil certainly seems to be the best for pain medicine as opposed to tylenol

  1. So where are you playing? You didn't mention it. Grand Siera again? Downtown? Way out at Peppermill/Atlantis? You think El Dorado is still the best?

    1. The reason the eldorado is better action is the rooms rules. U can straddle $4 in any position but the button and buyin up to the largest chipstack. So at least 4 to 5 players have $500+

    2. I thought only rude rich people buy in big. What has changed since you post that last month?

    3. well im sure these people are richer than me. what was rude was a DEALER buying in for the $600 after getting felted. thats ok for a customer, but for a dealer to imply "im superior to u (by buying in THAT MUCH on tilt) is just wrong for the room she deals in.

also, the people buying in that deep--arent usually the easiest players to beat either. i only mention it cause im shocked how deep stack sizes here in reno are. WEC will be shocked too.

  2. The WSOP runs through July 14th this year. If I was a betting man, I'd wager that you'll be back in Vegas before it ends... #lock #surething

    3. I don't think WSOP time is a great time to be playing in Vegas. Tony, and players like myself, shouldn't be wanting to play with a table full of guys signed up for the $2,500.00 event the next day. Tony shouldn't want to be playing in a city full of good players; Tony should want to be playing at a table full of people who play in their monthly hold em tournament down at the Eagles, and the occasional cash game with their buddies.

I know not every player who plays in the WSOP is a good, or even decent, player. But I'd rather take my chances with a town full of tourist conventioners over a town filled with poker players.

    4. Angerisagift, that is a PRO TYPO, typing hundreds instead of thousands.

All kidding aside, the numbers are probably tens of thousands. Most people are travelling to play in one or two events, marjority don't play in the main event. Add to them, people that goes for the side cash game action, others that play only satellites, and friends and family that may dabble in some cash games.

    5. SI, I will be playing in one of the WSOP events this year, first timer. May be I will do a trip report on the cash game action afterwards. I hope it is as juicy as what some have told me in tbe past.

  7. Tony your tooth is dying. I told you this MONTHS ago. You need a root canal or to have it pulled.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Tony, here's some cold reality. You can DIE from the tooth infection...especially at risk is someone with poor diet that doesn't exercise. Get it taken care of. ASAP

    1. we dont know if theres an infection--because its not been examined. people who dont have money shouldnt get medical care--its a luxury for those who are well off--and thats why we resent them at times.

    2. You recall, like two weeks ago, your mom offered to pay to have it looked at, right? Had you done it then, you'd at least know how serious the situation is. But, "of course," you didn't bother putting effort into doing something that needed to be done.

    3. ounce of prevention is a pound of cure.ppl that only have less than 4k to their name shouldnt b gambooooooooooooooooling. medical care isnt a luxury BUT gambooooooooooooling is. i think more ppl resent ppl who donk off money at the casino than ppl who need medical care

    4. Healthcare is not some luxury reserved for the rich. Something you literally can't live without can't be a luxury. If you aren't getting care you can blame yourself, not society. I mean you can get a tooth pulled for $80 in vegas

    5. i wonder what else is a luxury? education, clean air, or girls that kiss ppl on the lips

doing quite well at Live table BJ, even though i lost a hand where i split 22, got another 2, then an 8, doubled, got another 2, drew to 19 on the next 2, and then got a 7, doubled the final 2, and lost $125 on the hand.

    1. You don't think you're a donkey because you played the crappy VP. You think you're a donkey because you lost at it. If you won you would be patting yourself on the back all the way home. This is why going broke is inevitable.

  11. Tony saying "we don't know there's an infection" is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard you say. I've had 3 or 4 root canals now. Here's the symptoms - extreme sensitivity to hot or cold liquids/foods; intense throbbing off and on, which is your tooth's way of screaming "HELP I'M DYING, HELP ME!", because your tooth is literally....dying. And if that decay and infection spreads to your brain, WHICH IT CAN, you will die. It's true. If you won't spend the money to get a root canal, at least go get the tooth pulled. Don't spite the rest of your body because you're a stubborn fool.

    1. Tony, you should send up a "GoFundMe" account or something and raise some money for your dental care. I mean, if you die, who's absurd comments are we going to respond to?

  12. Tony, you complaining about no private charity offering dental service (like God wants) and it only being available through the government reminds me of a story.

A man was in his home, and a sheriff's deputy stopped and knocked on the door and told him a huge flood was coming. "Don't worry, I am waiting for God to take care of me!" he replied. The deputy urged him to leave but he refused because of his trust in God.

A couple hours later, as water was filling his house he was forced to go upstairs, and then to the roof after that. After sitting on the roof for a moment a man with a boat came by and threw him a life jacket. "Grab it and swim over!" he yelled, "We can paddle to higher ground!"

"No thanks, God will save me, I'm sure of it!!!" he replied.

The boat left and the water kept rising, just when his roof was ready to go under, a helicopter came and threw a rope down. "Climb it and we'll take you to safety." The man in the helicopter yelled.

"No, God is going to take care of me, I know it. He always does!" was his reply again. The man in the helicopter tried to reason with him, but he was determined to wait for God.

Finally the man's house went under, and soon after he drowned. He awoke in heaven and when it was his turn to stand before God, he was a little confused.

"LORD, I always served you, why didn't you save me when I needed you?" he asked.

God replied. "I sent a deputy, a boat, and a helicopter, what else do you want from me!"

Does it ever cross your mind that God uses Government agencies to take care of people? I don't remember the Bible demanding it be private charities. In fact, if you read the first couple chapters of Acts, it is practically a how to guide for socialism.

On the matter of the medicaid, it is for people with no job and little to no income. Apply at nevadahealthlink.com (yes that is the obamacare website, but don't let that scare you away)

I didn't spend all this time typing this because I need the practice, I want to see you get what you need. Health coverage. What happens if you break a leg? Or you piss off the wrong person at the casino throwing a fit and he messes you up? You go to a hospital and get care, then never pay the bill. How is that more morally acceptable than using government assistance? If you have ever paid taxes you have earned the right to use the systems that make this country different from those where the poor and unemployed are left to die and rot.
