sorry for the delay--but theres not much to report. Blog gets boring when I'm too low to do any gambling.

am finally getting one thing done that needed done, im sitting in my motel room at home washing laundry, and need to get it done before the laundry rooms closed for the night. also i checked my online bank statement, and sure enough, im now getting charged $14 a month to keep my acct open again because the balance is too low. so im $14 poorer than i thought, but i did win a little at the sands. good action there due to the memorial day weekend, so altogether im at $1318. glad i made over $60 while at the sands, and ill head back over there later. too bad its not that busy in there all the time.

also, i need to go to the Peppermill to deposit money on UP. or since i might leave for CA, would i be better off on seals, bovada, or BCP? im still missing out on earning a $100 bonus ive got about another week before it expires since i never redeposited once i lost the $100. there just isnt enough action and games going on UP--pretty much nothing but holdem and 1-2 tables of 5c10c PLO8, which is too low to clear the bonus. they make the bonus take a long time to clear.

ive stayed away from the Peppermill and Atlantis because i felt like i cant afford the NL. but i dont really see myself getting out of this mess unless i start playing it and doing the hail mary play (u know, sink or swim).

with the min buyin in the NL being only $40 at the peppermill, and $50 at the Atlantis, maybe i shouldnt worry, but its been seeming like everytime i min buy i lose the buyin quite fast. this didnt seem to be the case at all at the stratosphere.

just variance i guess. how i miss the good old days of pokerstars. now that really was the best online poker site ever, and no site from the past or the future will ever surpass it.

if that $2-6 game at sands went 24 hours, or at least everyday, it might be possible to after a few months, get back to where i was when i first came to reno. but the thing is after the memorial day weekend is over, it will be dead again. even the game in Turlock i wanted to play only goes thurs to sunday. also it would help if my rents cheaper, ive been given other suggestions by locals about different places to live for a little less.

  1. won $76 after going back to the sands, new roll, $1394. good action because of the memorial day weekend. normally the games too tight and the rake too high to win that in it.

  2. If you go to BofA and tell them you want to do all your banking through ATM and not go through a teller you can have it set up with no charge, and if you have to go to a teller for some reason the will charge you for that month only. Also, why do you worry what the rake is, they only take it out of the winning pot, it's not like you're paying for time the like the Calif card rooms used to be!

    1. usually paying $5-8 a half hour for time is a horrible idea in micro stakes games, but in cali, the way they remove about 150% of the pot upfront and leave nothing left to fight for, it might actually be better if they charged time.

  3. well after this week either head to cal and sleep in the spas or head back to vegas for the crowd coming in for the wsop. cant stay in reno if there are no games. just stay away from (dem bad machines)just think how much easier it is if you dont lose half of your bankroll on them.. grow a backbone and stay away from them good luck on what ever you do maybe i ll run into you in vegas as ill be there from sept 11 thur oct 18

If you just stay off dem good or bad machines your roll will grow, its that easy.

    2. nobody disputes you can with 3-5 dollars an hour in 1/2 nl but it doesn't matter, you're a gambling addict and will always give it back in dem machines and continue to live a desuetude lifestyle

  5. the fact you think poker stars was the best site ever shows how clueless you are. the games on bodog paradise and pacific were so much better for years it's not even close. even a face up nit like you would have made a fortune.

    ReplyDelete

    1. then who was losing if everyone was winning, both good players and bad?

anyway, paradise and pacific shutdown to the Usa long before stars, and the game selection there was always much worse, if u like other games than just NL holdem. those sites didnt offer much of the games i wanted, although i did play at paradise quite a bit

      Delete
    2. where did i say everyone was winning? i said those sites were filled w god awful players, way worse than stats. paradise and pacific died out long before stars got shut down, but bodog was always better than stars. your nitty style would have done way better there. but of course you're lazy and instead of doing things like grind out great poker games you chase dem machines.

  7. i really need someone to look at my computer in the reno area without charging me, its acting funny, and i definitely need a new phone. with a new battery, it shouldnt be taking 7 hours to fully charge, then die within 2 hours, or die without being used at all once its unplugged. but i cant afford to be buying phones when money is needed a lot more for housing food and dental care.

    2. you can get a new battery for like 3 bucks on ebay.

  8. Smashing your phone when Mr Martingale gets the better of you on vbj is probably a good reason why your phone is fucked. Most likely a similar problem with your computer, after you took a bad beat playing online poker.

Tony you need to tell us all the places you are banned from and why, then people might not waste their time telling you where the good games are at. Or maybe it would be quicker if you told us where you are allowed to play.

I'm coming back to Las Vegas October 19 for five weeks. Will be staying at 4 Queens, Fremont, Hooters, Gold Coast and The Orleans during that time. Are you banned from Hooters, Gold Coast and The Orleans poker rooms?

With all places on the Strip charging exhorbitant rip off resort fees, it is now better for me to stay off Strip or Downtown where they don't charge fees or the resort fees are minimal.

Halfway through my latest chemotherapy treatment, another three months to go. Been really hard this time, bad side affects and other illnesses because the chemo weakens my resistance to allergies and contagious diseases. Doesn't matter, I'm fighting it and will be in Las Vegas on October 19. Going to New Orleans first for 5 nights, always wanted to go there, but never managed to get past Las Vegas.

Good luck climbing back out of the hole. Stay off the machines.

    3. You've finally made me realize how Tony's story will end. He won't hit it big and ride off into the sunset. He won't go down in a blaze of button mashing glory. He'll just eventually get banned from every gambling establishment in North America and then (and only then) will he be forced to get government assistance or a job to survive.

  9. Tony - You didn't address the BofA issue I'm trying to help you with. One more time then... If you go to them and ask to be put on a teller-less account which means you do all of your banking through an ATM there is no monthly fee!

Put $100 on Bovada and play all the small buyin PLO8 tourneys they offer. That was your biggest one day score in the last year...$1200....$100 is quite a few buyins and PLO8 is your best game....Combine that with your live poker play and you have a shot at a nice bankroll building score while you make the rent playing live....and obviously stay off the damn machines...but thats been said 1000 times before and you never do.

  13. well i played so long at the atlantis trying to get my 10 hours in (and the game ended up breaking a little after 9 hours so no luck) but still i wanted to see if living there long term would be viable. u see, i could try for 5 free nights a week, and then 1-2 nights on the weekend with my $20 a day id earn in comps for my 10 hours. so thats $140 a week earned in comps, and i never have to buy food there. of course, rooms are about that much a night on weekends though.

but of course i could take a room for friday, sleep all day, and check out 1pm sat afternoon, and back in about 6am sunday if available. probably wouldnt be though.

anyway--i felt i was probably starting to not play my best--felt too tired to go to the Peppermill, and i could see the game was breaking. went from being $17 from being even when i got back to back KK, to being down quite a bit again, and eventually left with $77 and got on the bus.

rode on downtown and got off at the cal neva, to walk home, and sat down at an empty $3 single deck game, double on 10-11 only, no surrender, and no double after split. dealer hits soft 17. i really aint used to those bad of rules, but some counters think its a better game than the VBJ machine, not sure why. anyone know why?

i started playing, counting the cards for index plays, and of course martingaling as usual. i dont think the first dealer was smart enough to know i was counting, but i think the 2nd dealer was. both were white men, which is really weird that a casino would actually hire a white man nowdays. sure 100 yrs ago they did, but today?

never really understood why so many dealers on AVP and elsewhere in the past who badmouthed me were white men, (psand, talon, ur poker dealer blogger, mike from the nugget, Tom from the V, etc) as bad as feel for them in the industry, and i usually tip them extra when possible due to their race and their gender. Way more often than id tip an asian or a female. Because i know they can use the money a lot more, but anyway---

so on the negative counts when losing and needing to double the next bet, my pattern would be like $3, $4, $8, $8+8, $16+$16, and on growing positive counts might be like $3, $8, $20, (and of course 1 hand unless the bet got too high). some decks with alternating good and bad counts might be like $3, $4, $10, $18. u get the drift.

and of course, on the negative shoes i started over at $3, (after winning, and on the plus shoes, it depended on the count. maybe i started over at $5 (plus 1) or even at $10-12 (plus 3,4). i think the 2nd dealer caught on when he shuffled slightly early.

the first dealer dealt pretty deep.

but i got back to $171, and left with $170 after throwing the dealer another buck, and he also got a few other tips from a bunch of 50c pieces off blackjacks. i got lucky to win my bets each time id get to 2 bets of $20 each or thereabouts.

      Delete
    4. You don't seem to understand that a game isn't just magically +EV. The way you play it and bet it matters. If you're martingaling in negative counts because it's fun, that's fine, but you aren't playing a +EV game.

Just because other people are capable of getting +EV on a game doesn't mean that you have the skill or discipline to do so.

      Delete
    5. what's -ev is you have zero discipline and your counting skills are suspect at best. so even if you can grind out a very tiny edge some of the time you give it back and then some when you go on tilt.

  16. Tony, why would a white man need money more than an asian or a female? Surely these people would have similar commitments as the white man, in terms of having to pay for food, accomodation, utilities, doctors, dentists etc.

    1. very simple--the white man also needs enough money to take care of the FEMALE TOO--or else she wont be interested in him. the female however--dont need the money nearly as bad--she dont have to pay for a man to get him to hang out, and she probably has a man giving her money too.

      Delete
    2. Do you really believe that every female in this world needs a man to take care of her and spend money on her. There are millions of successful women in this world who do not rely on men for any kind of financial or physical assistance at all. Tony your logic is so wrong. What about the asians not needing just as much as a white man?

Once again you are showing your racial and anti female thinking stupidity. You need to seriously get over this hatred you have for people who more successful than you because they have worked for their success. Skin colour, race or sexuality has no bearing on a persons success if they are prepared to work for it.
