Royal flush jackpot in the Sands poker room

and now im finally at home on my laptop so i can tell my loyal readers all about it. for the longest time, i didnt have a working cell phone, and then i was still playing poker, albeit at a difference casino.

after getting paid the $755 for the royal, the game broke up soon, because 2 locals, (and we were already shorthanded) a man and his wife, were pissed theyd contributed money for the jackpot all year long, and someone they consider a tourist and an outsider (me) won it. but i think i too am a local now since i moved here and came in regularly since. they walked off complaining that always happens anytime theres a big jackpot in the poker room. it was the highest paying hand on the board, next highest ranking hand paid over $300 less.

the dealer was happy (he got $40) the floorman got $10, the cab driver (who id never needed otherwise--but was afraid to leave on foot carrying all that and the whole casino knowing it) got $15 for driving me both to BOA to make a deposit (making the deposit the #1 thing to do when u hit a big jackpot of course) and then to drop me off at the peppermill. and the guy who called me to get the pot up to $20 got his $4 back and $10 on top. so i think everyone else was happy and the guy next to me said he was happy for me. so a lot of the moneys been used, and i had a small loss at the peppermill, and also ive been paying internet bills, so the moneys being used. also going to make a small $20 deposit on bovada, tired of not being able to play online at home.

the dealer who got the $40 said they had no business having that attitude towards me, and who knows what the rest of them thought. almost thought i wouldnt get paid since i didnt have my ss card on  hand, just my out of state ID, and louisiana does NOT put social security numbers on their state ids for some reason. but they paid me and gave me a w-2. was that ever a relief. ive never had a problem getting paid when being a part of any BBBJ in las vegas.

one of the employees was glad it hit, because they now are going to cap all jackpots at $599, but they had to wait til the one over that got hit first. and thats what theyd been waiting to happen.

flop comes AA7 and i had QK suited, turn 10h, and i didnt want to bet my flush, worried id lose the shot to see the river, and the pot wasnt $20 yet, but close to it. couldnt believe it when the Jh came on the river for the royal.

and then at the peppermill the game was wild, lots of $3-5 NL players with $500-1000 stacks since their game had broke up. lots of $20 or more blind straddles (which can be made in any position but the blinds and the button) which gave me a big +ev for buying in short at $40, but i lost 4 buyins of $40, even after running the first $40 buyin up to $184, and i got away with an early bluff. but i do think i was earning respect on that table.

i didnt do good til i rebought in for $100 finally, and ran it back to over $200 before i left.

and of course my phone bill too must be paid before my sons 22nd birthday on june 4th, and he hopefully will receive his card and his gift by that time since i mailed it saturday. so after all those things tonight got paid tonight, im not up nearly $755, but i am a lot better off. new roll is $2264, and that makes me feel a lot more comfortable at the tables. of course, thats still somewhat less than what i had before i went to north lake tahoe, and quite a lot less than when i went home on vacation.

im surprised WEC dont think theres action in reno. any place with 50% of pots being missisippi straddled would be a game with action. also i dont really believe the chaperone is in reno either, (nor Benny for that matter) but if Noah wants to prove me wrong, ill be at the sands early this afternoon.

im beginning to think something might be wrong with my cell phone charger other than it just being bent and must have the cord adjusted just right when charging. the peppermill charged it in under 2 hours instead of the normal 7 hours, and id like to buy the exact same charger the peppermill poker room desk has. of course if i buy a random new charger, im not assured enough that will work to try it.

also ive typed 2 blog entries in a very short period of time, so please dont miss the previous entry. it was just posted a day or 2 ago, and its only got 609 views, about a third of normal. usually it takes 5 days to get over 1500 views. so its best to only update once every 5 days. but this entry was of such great importance i realized it must be posted tonight.

    1. Yeah, Bovada has had that for years. The fact that you just learned about it is unsurprising.

    2. most everyone reading this blog, wont be aware of this bonus, because they play on bovada far less than u have. and those are the people who my responsibilities are to

    3. Most online sites have royal flush bonuses. You need to check the offers monthly on any site you play.

    4. I play sparingly on bovada and had no idea, thanks.

    5. well im glad i helped out at least one person. and im sure tons of others had no idea either. LOL at how someone thought bovada would now end the promo since i publicized it, its publicized boldly on their own website

  2. Who cares?

This won't change your life one iota. It's just more fuel for your -EV gambling addiction. You'll blow this money on VBJ or VP or table games (you can't count cards ... and by count I mean count and make playing decisions and make betting decisions that produce a +EV overall outcome ... you know, the actual AP definition of counting).

You'll be back to broke in no time.

    1. actually all counting means is keeping track of the running count. thats why team play exists, one does the counting, the other makes all the playing decisions and betting decisions once hes been made aware of the count

  3. tony at least you are lucky you are not a female tourist because then they would have said you really didnt need that high hand bonus, but since you are a man then you do need it.... LOL i dont belive you tipped all them people that much money since you dont believe in tipping anyone from what i read in most of your rambling posts...

    1. im afraid they might not think i tipped much, most dealers arent happy with less than 10% of any major tourny or jackpot win. they consider 5% the same as stiffing them, but he didnt seem unhappy. steves probably nicer than most

  4. Tony are you sure those two people who were complaining about you winning weren't hard core TBC blog followers who just thought that's how you should react to such things? Seems like exactly how you would have reacted had a tourist hit that in Vegas. Why don't you try learning from this lesson and use it to become a better person and poker player by watching what comes out of your mouth at the table.

    1. i can care less who wins when im not in the pot. i only get mad if i lose alot of money. being an asshole is when u arent in the pot and get mad. i always root for the brokest person to win too, to keep the game full. i wouldve never been that way

  5. Tony your views on counting is why you are not successful at Black Jack. You over simplify everything to the point that it is incorrect. It is almost as if you got your AP credentials from watching the movie 21.

I would point out the egregious errors in your short summary but they would be so numerous and voluminous that they would overshadow your blog. But I do agree with you that any idiot can be successful at counting cards if they have a very basic skill....... I am proof of that!

    Good luck and enjoy.

  6. and i just won a small turny on bovada, my first $20 deposit was lost, but i deposited another $20 last night, reducing the roll from $2264 to $2244, and todays $161 win at the sands brings it back to $2405. but now my bovada balance is up to $41 again.

    ReplyDelete
  7. bovada balance is now over $50, but i lost over $100 at the sands after i quit the poker game ahead again in the 2nd session. shouldnt do anything but come straight home and play online. in fact i should move somewhere i cant play other games and cant get mad at anyone. at least if i lose the money at poker instead of on other games, its myself im mad at instead of anyone around me.

  8. Moving isn't the answer to your anger issues and gambling addiction issues. They just follow you there and re surface in other contexts.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. but moving does keep me from playing certain machines, affect rent costs and choices of games, etc. and if im near certain friends, so it serves a purpose, no doubt.

one great way to solve anger issues is to stick to poker, no pit games or machines. almost all the blowups involved huge losses outside of poker, and my anger in poker tends to be more directed at myself than others. also my losses are generally more comtrollable and lower.

  9. Tony i have found if what ever game you are playing and you double up your starting amount you need to get up and put your money away and take a break and then rebuy for the org, amount. I know some will tell you to keep playing while you are on a hot roll but most of the time you will end up getting more loose and giving back your profit and then some more. At least that is what happens to me most of the time

    1. this is a lot easier to do at the commerce, where they allow table changes, without having to bring more than the min buyin of $40 again, or without having to wait an hour first.

      Delete
    2. that is what i meant when i said cash out take a break( get a bite to eat walk around or what ever) then go back and rebuy with less amount. think about it how many times you have went on tilt or give back all your profit plus your buyin

  10. Robocoin, first Bitcoin ATM in a casino, launches at The D
    22 May 2014

    By David Ferrara

A tall blue box tucked in the rear of The D Las Vegas casino in downtown Las Vegas could soon shake up the gambling industry.

That’s the hope of Derek Stevens and Jordan Kelley, who met Wednesday on the casino floor as they prepared to launch the first Bitcoin ATM ever placed in a casino.

Standing against a wall next to the hotel gift shop, which accepts the virtual currency, the 5-foot, 7-inch Robocoin machine is scheduled to be powered up today, allowing customers to transform Bitcoin into cash and cash into Bitcoin.

“I’m anxious. I’m excited about it,” Stevens, the casino’s owner told Kelley, CEO of Las Vegas-based Robocoin. “But it’s not something you can project that easy.”

Robocoin can hold upwards of $500,000 in cash. Kelley likes to think of rich foreign businessmen storing loads of cash in Bitcoin before traveling to Las Vegas and emptying their online wallets in the form of dollars at the casino.

    1. and if something goes wrong, and ur bitcoin disappears and u dont get paid, what proof do u have? its high risk, but im glad the machine exists. wish id have access to it when i was in vegas, would be great for small purchases $20 or less. not so great for large cashouts.

  11. Is this true Tony? "Got back to the Gold Strike after watching the games and realized that my comps ran out. Played fpdw to earn comps and they checked me into one of their better rooms. TBC is no longer here. Talked to one of the pit bosses here who reads the TBC blog, and he says that management here studies all data from the vbj machine. Tbc has been a huge loser on the machine over the last six months, and his figures do no remotely correspond with what he reports on his blog." -BP

    1. everyone but u can easily figure out the cause of this--this is because of when a guy was betting very big with my cards in the VBJ machine, and his results threw off the total by thousands of dollars.

    2. I have no idea what happened. Where can I read about what happened with this big bettor and your cards?

  12. im a bit relieved this morning, i kept rebuying or adding on, in a quite loose game at the peppermill. got to where i was in the game for as much as $414, and eventually won a big pot, and cashed out $450, so im quite relieved nothing went wrong. didnt want to leave a good table, but i cant afford to buyin for that much.

    2. I met a couple of guys in Tahoe who found girlfriends who were willing to pay for everything and let them live with them for practically nothing. Granted they were in their 20's, had sixpack abs, were charming and hot but why can't you set up the same kind of arrangement for yourself?

    5. u pretty much have to find a woman when u are YOUNG--women who arent over 50 see a guy age 45 as being way too old for them--except if theyre over 50. and remember alysia isnt really a woman--but one of these guys fake ids whose been trolling me for years. only weird thing is their twitter acct was created over 2 yrs ago, but no clues on it.

women care far more about how a guy looks and how well off he is than a man does. all a man cares about is will this woman provide physical affection, and not set me up and steal from me?

    6. Ah Tony I'm sure whatever you lack in dental hygiene, money, looks and personality, you make up for in...your remarkable sense of self-importance. Chicks with low self-esteem and daddy issues (particularly if their fathers were degenerate, lazy ass, delusional gambling addicts) would find you strangely appealing. You're not working hard enough to get yourself a sugar momma.

    7. Tony, you know I was kidding about Alysia, as it was obvious she was poking fun about you finding a sugar mama.

By the way, your ideas about women and relationships are way off IMO, please don't try to give advice.
