What would u do in this situation?

Lets say u got tired of renewing ur FREE room day by day at Ballys sun-thurs for 4 hours of play, and got tired of always checking out 11-12noon to then check back in later in the day. (they dont allow u to prepay and get refunded for whatever reason). so following the advice of sundays floorperson, i went to sleep about 9pm, woke up in the middle of the night, (he suggested 5pm--and played 4-5 hours before checkout time)--and then to have it renewed same room. (thats after they first check to make sure they have availability, whatever they mean by that.)

so i woke up at 230am and played til the game broke at 7am, and left still down $126 that morning. considering i was briefly at $14,000 after hitting the jackpot before i had all the losses since, i felt stuck quite a bit more. (that had me about $12,800 left). and the guy went to call on the phone (different floorman) but got no answer, and he felt it was due to the huge storm coming.

now u would think a big storm would ensure plenty of availability. but no, it worked just the opposite, there were no rooms available free except those for sale at $75 or more. so i wasnt happy. i was told maybe they might have some later and he would check every 2-3 hours so i kept playing. but getting little sleep from 8am-11am and then having to check out instead of renew had me pretty tired, and it still has me tired. Guess ill try and sleep on my plane.

i got off to a slow start but later got to about $50 profit, although i was still down a lot from before. then i made a few bad calls, and lost the entire stack and id firmly established an image as a donkey on tilt, regardless of if that was really the case. at least i was aware of it and was fully planning to take full advantage of it.

so i rebought $500 i withdrew from the ATM, and within less than 2 hands got dealt 88. i limped in EP, along with many others. flop comes up J83 with 2 hearts and im determined to use my image to my benefit to recover some of the loss. i hated being first to act so i bet $5, in hopes of building a big pot and not giving freebies to flush draws. the old man who always tips with $1 coins who everyone hates and talks about when hes away from the table makes it $20. (now theres a LOT of camaradie and shit talking among the regulars about other players and it seems like they let them get away with anything. some are quite rude things they say). seems like the same people every day.

anyway im glad to see him raising, it gets out the other players, so i make it $80 hoping he will think im just on tilt. he puts me allin, i call, and hope blanks come. turn comes 3 of hearts for a flush and a boat so i dont mind the card. river comes 6s and he had JJJ33 and never raised it preflop. should i have known? it sure looked like i was just on tilt instead of having a monster so i didnt fear his raise.

so what would u have done?

Probably not what i did, which was to tear up the cards, shove the money all across the table, say to please fix it so i can never come back, and that the staff and all the regulars were all assholes making fun of my play--which was somewhat true. i walked straight out the door, long before any security was around. grabbed my bag next door at ballys coat check (was in the wild west) walked to the bus terminal. found out mohegan sun was closing down, and no greyhound buses going to foxwoods and they were about to end all busses to NYC soon. also NJ transit was discontinuing all service, and i took the bus to philly before they stopped. they will have no service at all for 2 days.

so i wasted money on a cab, buying a plane ticket for $400+ paying for bags, etc and now have about $11600 left is all. and im long gone outta here and back to where i feel more at home, where its nice and warm weather outside. they better not cancel this plane. this is about the only plane that was NOT canceled leaving philly, and its costing me a lot more than the plane i originally wanted thru another carrier thats been canceled. if they cancel this, im stuck for 2 days with no refund and no way out of philly. should be leaving soon.

staff here at the airport thought it was weird i had no destination in mind and didnt care where in the country i went, and thought they was going to pull out tv cameras any minute. we looked about 20 different cities far far west and south of philly.

  4. im safely in the air, and as always i cannot resist wasting $10 paying for in flight wifi. at least the drinks are FREE and the foods complimentary. this flight costs too much. almost no one is on the entire plane, so ive got 3 whole seats to myself, but still, i just cannot sleep with a seatbelt on unable to lie down. i would think sleeping on here easier than anywhere. guess ill sleep during my 4-6 hour layoff in atlanta.

i want to be well rested when the poker room opens tomorrow at 10am. im going to play tomorrows afternoons 2pm $225 PLO event, i cant afford it but i want to give myself one chance to recover a bit and then on im sticking to nothing but my road game of $1-2 NL.

booked a room for tomorrow when ill be able to sleep a lot more at a nice motel on west 123rd street, about 4 1/2 miles from the cardroom. at least it looked safe enough on priceline. weather is supposed to be above 70-80 every day til friday, with a chance of showers then.

    1. Tony, the key to sleeping with the seat belt on is to loosen it as much as possible. You are a skinny guy, and those things are made to go around 300lb people, so stretch it out and you can practically stand up with it still on. If they say anything, you have your seat belt on.

  5. dammit, here i joined a sng on bovada not realizing my laptop was down to 15% power, that $5 is down the tubes. shouldnt have bought the in flight wifi. also congratulations to WEC poker for being the first to do the necessary research to figure out which airport is my final destination and for offering to meet me at the airport. he will introduce himself and be holding a copy of Cardplayer magazine to identify himself. he said he would drive me by my hotel and buy me something to eat for $10 which was nice of him and that he has a black sedan with tinted windows.

  6. Spectacular Tony. FYI I don't believe you but it is a spectacular story. You should strap a GoPro to your melon and start a you tube channel with this comedy gold you live. I would give you some advice but lets be honest nobody least of all you wants to hear and logic or reason.

I think the Sunday floor person was out to get you. He is a true asshole and wanted to get you banned from the casino because he hates the lord, Christians, and all members of mensa.

  7. You have been playing with the guy. Your play screamed top two or set. What else do you think it makes that play with?

    1. actually my play in my opinion, screamed i have nothing and im just on tilt from the previous hands id played far too loosely. (quite a few in a row at that)

    2. Tony, the scream you heard was only in your head, everyone thinks you had two pairs or a set, and the old guy's play screams he had you beat.

  10. I hope you don't tilt after the tourney if you bust out then go and find a machine to try and recover the money you donked off at Ballys, the taxi, the plane ticket, the tourney, and anything else you didn't mention.. If you drop to 10k this week be very cautious sir.

  11. What a viscious cycle. Lots of blaming others and no accountability. It amazes me that someone with such little control over their emotions is a long term winner at this game. I also wonder if you will run out of places to play some day if that tooth doesn't kill you. Good to see you going somewhere warm though. I'd like to have something more positive to say but i find your behavior very dissapointing. Good luck I wish you well. Be safe.

  12. well as far as the poker hand bad beats do happen and as you were trying to trap him andd= he was doing the same for you.it happens to all of us, it sucks but thats life... Now as far as the rest of your post you went crazy why when you knew bad weather coming in and you were tired from playing to long and wouldn't pay $75. for a room but would go play poker longer when you were not at your best was your worst mistake and then trying to get yourself banned from a poker room was really a waste and then trying to fly somewhere with no place in mind was a real hoot what if they banned you from flying any more to them you fit the mode of a crazy person that might try to do something to the plane..settle down and get back to grinding and quit looking for the easy win

    1. What Tony did at the airport isn't really too unusual. Maybe in the post 9/11 world it's a bit more uncommon, but going up to the counter and asking where they got deals to go, cause you just wanna go somewhere doesn't seem "crazy" to me.

  14. Well TBC it seems you got sucked out on but I am sure this is not a new experience. I know this is not very nice of me but I think I would have stayed in Reno where you seemed to have your act together. I mean you could afford the rooms and it was easier to get to the casino's. You also seemed to have a good profit per hour playing cards. Those nasty VBJ always seem to suck your profits but if you keep playing negative outcome gambles what can anyone expect. Why anyone would go back East in the dead of winter makes me wonder. Its your life TBC and we all wonder when we read this blog what is going to become of you. You do know that nobody makes it out of this world alive right??? Do what you want but hey break down and spend some money on your rotten tooth. Give us some hope at least.

  17. You are not good at poker. Not because you lost stacks on this hand--that is a cooler and if you don't understand that everyone from Ivey to donks like you playing 1/2 runs into them--but because you look at this hand all wrong with no idea why or how you really should be looking at it.

This hand history is laughable; can you detail effective stacks please. Generally no one is finding a fold here (nor should they) but there may have been better ways to get the money in. There are as many combos of 33 as JJ and that can certainly be in his range. Stop thinking about results and start thinking "How can I play better?" and "How can I think about my opponent's range here and how my relative hand does against that range?"

Doubt you will do that because you make the same mistakes over and over it seems.
