Relaxing in my room at the Grand Sierra

Can anyone remind me who it was who said recently that i needed a few big wins every now and then or id just be grinding my whole life? Well today i finally for the first time had over $3300 in front of me in the $1-2 NL game at the Peppermill, and it was all off $855 worth of buyins. the original $100 buyin that i lost, (possibly due to the only seat open being a seat i dislike), then losing the $55 rebuy, and then being thoroughly on tilt and rebuying $700 (to match the biggest stack on the table). after doing that, the big stack changed seats, opening  up the 3 seat for me, and i moved into it. And from there i could do no wrong. started getting an awful lot of AA and KK hands, was winning almost all of them, and within 12 hours had a stack of over $3300.

Never in my life has i won that much in the $1-2 NL, (or stayed at the table long enough to do so without leaving). But no one could do any real damage, until the very end when the best player who Karen warned me about had about $800+, no one had more than like $500-600. also one of the big stacks, both of whom were big obama supporters and vocalized it, after learning both me and the one alaska guy who knew me from Bills and his wife werent, i think they were more determined than ever to see me lose, and kept being in shock i kept winning.

both went on serious tilt, one left broke of his $600, the other guy played many more hours and eventually left with $100-200 of over $700. and the 2 very rich asian ladies also both went broke and contributed a lot. no matter what i had i couldnt lose a hand. one time i shouldve lost with KK when the ace hit the board, but i rivered the K to win about $200 off some black guy who then left.

Only the player in seat 9 wasnt losing and was the only player i worried might be reading me well.

This money will certainly help in paying for housing and dental care very soon  whenever i can arrange to be seen with someone with me, and whenever the place i want tells me they have an opening. But for now--its just being added to the bankroll, so im back to the $11k plus i had where i was living in tampa before the drop in vegas and on expenses. the drop at the Tahoe biltmore of the $1500, i had most of that back when i left for reno, was back to over $9600 at least anyway from the $10,000. The last couple days at the Tahoe biltmore i was winning quite a bit, and that was once i never ever bet more than 3 spots of $45 each instead of making big bets to get even. and of course most bets were much less.

One of the dealers, forgot his name, was wanting to see the blog too and i told him where to find it.

and im out of clean laundry completely including socks. so i have to either do laundry or take it in to have it done. just used up my last shirt. and ill wake up about 2am or so. theres 24 hour laundrys around im sure, and also drop off places but they might not be 24 hours. and also the GSR allows hotel guests to use the RV park laundry, but i think its closed that time of night.

i bought a salad to eat in the room at a quick place in the GSR i walked by on the way to the room, and i think i might need to deposit something on bovada. but first i need sleep. am thrilled to have won so much today, putting me back to over $15 an hour longterm. These are days that come around only on rare occasions when there isnt any hi hands involved.

  4. Nice cash Tony. What was it about the big stack that made you decide to rebuy for $700.00 to match what he had on the table?

    2. nothing about the big stack. in fact i assumed a different guy was the big stack than him. i do think thats why he moved to the other side of me though. i just didnt want to play short stacked after 2 losses and i was already down $155 so i wanted a lot bigger buyin. its been working

    3. The easiest way to correctly identify the big stack is to determine who has the most chips.

  8. it sure does cost a lot of money to not own a car. i bet ive wasted over $5000 in the last year not owning a car and the main reason ive not been too successful financially in saving up a huge roll like $40k or so is the huge costs of transportation related expenses or all the places i dont go to and do that needs done (like going to a sprint store to fix phone issues) because its just too much of a pain to get there. its why i never changed motels in florida paid money near de park etc. google transit looked like this dry cleaners would be close to GSR. instead it was a $22 cab ride there and back. the laundry actually charged me less than expected, only $18 for 18 pounds. google transit made it look under 6 blocks but it was over a mile, and he had to not go down the main street because it was 1 way the wrong way, thats why the fare was up. plus he spoke no english and deliberately took me out of the way because i asked him to use 2nd so he went to show me its 1 way. but it sure was a lot more than i expected to pay both ways there and back. also went by the BOA atm to deposit $3500 so im carrying less cash and now i have over $10,800 in the bank of my $11,900

id also save money if reno had uber. gotta thank lvcabchronicles for it being blocked all across the state.

    1. and tomorrow when i pick it up ill have to pay again. $11,900 is still no real money compared to what i had and isnt near enough to live on. i need a few more $2000 plus wins

    2. A few more $2000 plus wins at 1/2, yeah sure, you want fries with that?

A big congrats on the big win, but you must realize it is a very rare thing to win $2000+ at a 1/2 game for a tight player, right?

By the way, do you have any idea what it cost to own and operate a car, once you take into account license, insurance, gas, maintenance/repairs, depreciation, and parking? I don't know how the insurance rate compares to here in Vancouver, but if you were to get insurance here, it would cost you over $2000 per year because you have zero driving experience. I bet you did not waste over $5000 last year due to not owning a car.

    3. A few more 2k wins lol.that will happen once every ten years in 1/2 NL for you.

You probably have pissed away 5000 on transportation in the last year which just shows how foolish you are.

You play 1/2 NL where at best you'll make 10-15 bucks an hour and you think it makes sense to spend so much on hotels and transportation instead of just staying in Vegas .

    4. Are we back to the car issue??? Seriously Tony, do the math on car ownership including insuurance and registration then get back to me.

  9. Congrats, Tony. I never won over 2k ever at 1/2. Definitely commit now to fixing that tooth. And buy a used bike and a lock to save on cabs?

  10. Get a moped/scooter. Also fuck what you've spent on transportation think of what you've lost in the last
5 years in black jack. You could be rolling around in a Porsche with a 100k bankroll right niw.

  11. Jim Beam you seem to think Tony should have stayed in Vegas, but he claims he can't win at poker in Vegas. If this is true Tony then how can you claim the monicker of professional poker player if you can't win in the single most logicl place in the world for a professional poker player to live and apply his/her trade..........Las Vegas

  13. Are we sure this big win didn't come falling ass backward into a VP/VBJ win? I've played with Tony a hand full of times, and I just can't imagine him comfortably playing a stack of over $2000. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't really buy it.

  14. am happy to say today i turned things around so now im back at $11,800 after the $300 drop the day before after the big win. i was in the game for $862 after losing $262 in about 20 minutes of sitting down. at one point, i had only $380 left of the $862. but i eventually left the game after about 11 hours of play with $1016
