video blackjack trip report

Well something happened today thats never happened before. Theres no bank of america anywhere in town. and i paid a lot of money to get here from reno yesterday too. Last night, when I was losing well over $1000 on a VBJ machine with decent promotions going on, i took $1000 out of the ATM to keep playing, and today when losing heavily the remaining $600 i walked out with last night, i again went to take $1000 out of the ATM to keep playing. turns out since i made the withdraw after midnite instead of before, i wasnt able to take out any more money unless i wanted to pay an extra high fee at the cage and i wasnt going to do that, so i had to let it go and walked to my room to get on Bovada with the money i deposited there last nite.

Maybe it saved me money, who knows? also i walked by the walmart on the way to the motel, bought some reading glasses in a 3 pack to replace the ones i broke the handle on, so now ill have extra pairs in my suitcase. took the cashback option (which i never ever bother with) so i could get an additional $100 so i can use it to play poker tonight in a poker room ive never been in before, and sorry to say i cant take a picture because none of u will fix my phone for me at the poker table and i never am in the vicinity of a sprint store or an apple iphone store. there is a cricket store and a verizon store on the 1.5 mile walk to the poker room (or $7 cab fee) but i seriously doubt theyd want to bother when its a sprint phone and i'm not a paying customer. in anyones opinion, would it be right to bother them and ask, or would it be better just to ask the players at the table?

the poker room is only open thurs fri sat sun and oddly enough, Rob does not know it exists and it isnt included on his poker atlas. at 630 pm the tournament starts and its a $20 buyin, after that they have a NL game and the person at the cage earlier had no idea the blinds or the min or max buyin.

the pit is only open wed thurs fri sat and sun and it doesnt open til 4pm, so it wasnt open either yet when i was there. the pit only has roulette and BJ, and no one was able to tell me what type of BJ, what the min bet was, or how many decks were being used. they said the dealers would be able to answer me when they came in to work later.

not much of a casino, and one of the biggest of the 3-4 in town. most are nothing but slot machines, but hey at least its a live poker game. now do they get any players and how long the game goes, and does it sometimes fail to go? now that, i have no answers for, but ill find out

this certainly wouldnt be a good place to stay long term, because the motel is $77 a nite with tax and its not owned by the casino. there is one motel thats weekly, but u would need a bike its like 2-3 miles further away. south dakota is still the better option, im seeing i can get a month at the silverado franklin for $1000 and im sure id earn a bunch of that back comped off.

Vince will be here saturday, he is driving up to Lake tahoe to ski, and he owns a timeshare there he can use 1 week a year at a really nice place. So it will eliminate a big expense and hassle getting out of here, this is way out in the middle of nowhere. and we might even see about Karens dentist. i would feel better if i made at least one good decision.

running out of money seriously, i only have $9600 left. Thank God i had that big winning session right before all of this happened. For a minute, after the winning session, i thought maybe i would be better off just sticking to poker, and maybe raising the amount of my buyins a little. but then after losing a portion back at poker, i didnt feel like playing it anymore

not so sure that was the right move, in fact i know it wasnt. the loss back at the poker wasnt nearly as big as the loss on the VP and the VBJ, even though this machine is +ev. ive just ran incredibly bad, and im not sure im doing the promotion correctly. i might have the same odds and the same promos if i just bet much smaller, in which case i would be a lot more +ev. ill have to run a test and see.

should i be very thankful that my bank wasnt located anywhere near this town, and that i couldnt withdraw another $1000 out of the ATM? will i maybe win a hundred or two back in tonights poker session? answers please.

  1. im going to do one other right thing too. im going to do some honest heavy labor.

(ill walk the 1.5 miles instead of wasting $8 on the cab) i dont have much cash on hand tonight, and the walk will do me good, although im not in good enough physical strength to do it. wonder if i should ask about my cell on the way?

    1. When you get back to Reno...I'll show you how to buy a bike...and put it on the bus. There's nowhere you can't go. Buy a bike Tony. You won't regret it.

    2. does Tony know how to ride a bike??? also is riding a bike just "honest labor" or heavy too.

  2. Tony, are you really that emotionally detached from losing 17% of your roll in a few hours? You often get very angry at relatively small things, it scares me that you seem this unconcerned about your loss. I'm not convinced that you're playing in +EV situations as you seem to believe, but even if you are, you know you need to practice better bankroll management. I agree with the person who said you should track your VBJ wins and losses, and any other form of gambling that you do.

  3. I guess you didn't listen to the private email I sent you about taking a few days off and not playing poker after a big win for fear of losing it all back... It seems that you did EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of my recommendation, and looks like exactly what I feared for you did indeed come true... you lost it all back.

  4. If you do ask about the phone tell them first thing that you accidentally recorded a huge video (while the phone was in your pocket) and the file needs to be deleted but you can't find where it's stored.

  5. Tony, walking 1.5 miles is not "honest heavy labor". Have you ever considered stand-up comedy?

  6. Tony says..."For a minute, after the winning session, i thought maybe i would be better off just sticking to poker, and maybe raising the amount of my buyins a little. but then after losing a portion back at poker, i didnt feel like playing it anymore..."

Funny how that never happens when you lose big in VBJ.

So how are you going to have several more sessions of $3k wins in poker if you run away from Reno, to a place that runs $20 tournaments, and you don't even know how long the cash game would run for?

  7. well i started off losing $25 in the tourny, (why do i always do poorly in tourneys) and the $20 addon before the break. then i played $2 blackjack, with quite poor rules. 6 deck shoe, no double after split, no surrender, and only double 10 or 11. the VBJ machine has MUCH better odds and rules. but the funny thing was i turned $20 into $86 on the live BJ game. eventually the tourny broke and 6 of us started a $1-2 NL cash game. i bought in for $86 and at one point was up to $156. i made a very poor fold when i got bluffed off a pot to a $91 river bet and never recovered, lost the whole stack, rebought $125 and played 2-3 handed for about 45 minutes, and left with $145.. then i paid $77 to renew my room too. Vince will get me out of here saturday.

  9. We all know you will be throwing some cash Vince's way to compensate him for gas and being able to stay at his uber luxurious timeshare. But I would like to suggest throwing one more thing on top of that: offer to buy Vince a dinner with no strings attached. Try doing something nice for Vince that is not directly tied to a repayment of any sort of favors that he does for you. Just a thought...

    2. I bet Vince likes a good steak dinner (may or may not be a filet) and maybe a glass of that fine cab that PPP always indulges himself with...

  10. This thing reads like a train wreck. You know the mistakes, your followers give great advice. But the saga continues. How long can it really go for?

Ps- Just get your fucking tooth fixed already! You are going to end up dying over some small procedure that you have known you have needed for how long now?

  11. Way to save $8 on a cab. Now if you could only save $1,500 by not playing VP and VBJ.

  12. You need to learn that booking a small loss is not a big deal. You lost $150 at poker and have done $2.5k for no reason. There is nothing wrong with quitting if things aren't going well and starting fresh the next day. Never chasing losses should be your number 1 rule. Good luck and please grind poker only. Quitting all machines for good is the only way you will ever have a chance to build a proper roll.

  13. Why dont you play poker for a certain amount of hours each day and when that time is up youre done for the day win lose or draw

    1. because then i cant keep playing if i feel the games good and im at my best, and id be forced to keep playing if i am playing badly in a poor game.

  14. tomorrow afternoon is when vince will pick me up here in Fernley. and i at least won a small amount of about $200 on the VBJ today so that puts me back to $9700 from $9500. the $77 motel is whats hurting me, thats why i need longterm housing very soon

  15. on the way home, i stopped by walmart and bought a pumpkin pie, which must all be eaten in one night, (no fridge and i check out at 11am) and a potato salad for $2.98. walked home and i realized all i had was the pumpkin pie. considered walking back to get it, but i dont know if the clerk realized i left it behind. they had no business putting it in seperate bags instead of one.

on a seperate note im glad ive learned how to avoid atm fees. this will save me money in the future. all u have to do is make any purchase and u can get up to $100 cash back no charge.

    1. You need to back off of the processed carbs and potatoes. Dude, brain inflammation is no laughing matter. Also I will BET you if you clean up your diet (no sugar, no flour) your bloody scalp issues will clear up. Where are the vegetables and fruits in your diet? How much water are you drinking? Are you staying away from fruit juices and soda?

There have been so many studies done on the connection between grain in the diet and brain and hormonal health. The greatest DRUG your body intakes is FOOD. Put some thought into what you EAT.
