left reno with $8500+ 2 days ago, and now im back to $9100+

my rent is paid up thru next thursday (lived there exactly one month once that day comes) and yes ill be back before then. i went out to the Tahoe Biltmore where i like to stay on the amtrak Wednesday morning without ever mentioning it on the blog or twitter just to get away. nice little getaway, great privacy away from people, and much better internet reception here than at home. id stay here long term if poker was more available and it wasnt so difficult to get the rooms.

i get $30 slot play twice a month and 2 free nites a month with a $20 food credit. plus i can do the $50 atm promotion once a month across the street. so when i arrived here for $13 on the amtrak about noon wednesday, those were the first 2 things i did which put me about $100 ahead. then i won over another $200+ on the VBJ during the course of wed and thurs, and now its friday morning. the final $300+ was won in the Hyatt Grand Lodge poker room between 11pm and 3am this morning when i bought in $200 and cashed out $523 it was pretty shorthanded the final hour or 2, and i got lucky on a flop of 10 5 6 and 2 spades when i had 55 and he had JJ. lots of aggressive play on that game and lots of big stacks. lots of straddling too. i was afraid id lose it back, the one guy was really good whose a regular.

For right now, im hanging out in my room playing DON sngs with my $117 on Bovada off those $85+ in deposits made yesterday. at least i should finally have enough on there to work with. Glad my tooth hasnt been hurting me since that one night last week. sure isnt getting any better though either still needs done. the dentist locally here charges more but at least they offer sedation.

i might go home today (friday afternoon) or i might use some of my $91 in comp dollars to stay slightly longer. i havent had to use any comps yet since i had 2 free nights to start off and had $77 in comps when i first came. its an extremely slow process earning comp nites here since it takes $15,000 or so in play. of course, it wouldnt be slow if i had like a $40k roll, my bets would be much higher. then it would be easy.

Staying out here keeps me off the VP machines where i lose a bit less than $1 on every $100 i bet, and puts me on a much better paying VBJ game. my only fear is a big loss coming soon. Reason being, ill bet a lot more on these machines than the VP ones. and this suitcase is a horrible pain to drag with me with the huge hole in it. also, im now out of food both here and back in my apt in reno.

  2. Target carries a brand of luggage called Swiss Gear. I have two small SG bags and one large model with wheels. They are high quality and reasonably priced. Very similar to Wenger bags but less expensive. So... try spending some money on a better quality suitcase instead of POS suitcases from Good Will and judge for yourself six months from now if it was money well spent or not.

    1. how much do they cost at your store? how much do they cost at walmart? the one i bought at goodwill a long time ago was $5 and was a much better suitcase til the wheel broke off than the $30 one i bought at a store in atlantic city. i would trust walmart or target. of course, i cant buy it this morning anywhere in crystal bay before i return to reno. theres no town here only a casino the towns are about 500 people or less and are 5 miles up the road in CA.

    2. The smaller Swiss Gear bags that I bought at target were about $60 to $80. My larger bag with wheels was regular price $190 I think it was and I got it on sale way back when for $100 IIRC. This is likely more than you have ever spent on luggage but I would suggest having a TREAT YOURSELF moment and just buy the quality luggage. Six mos down the road then you can tell your readers if it was worth it or not. I am surprised that a major luggage brand hasn't already reached out to you as a field tester? Talk about some sweet spot action for both parties...

    1. Don't poison your mind with that garbage. The man is a liar and a fear monger. He will say anything to get people with little brains to listen to him.

  4. Like I showed you Tony, the last time your tooth was hurting last week, rinse with almost hot salt water real good like any dentist will tell you. It worked didn't it? It will continue to work moderately....but sooner or later.....you WILL have to "get it fixed".

  5. i know people will give me a hard time being out here when my room is paid up in reno til next thrusday with most of my belongings still in it, but i feel like this is my home. same as i feel reno is my home, and that vinces house is my home. a place of refuge. i feel 100x safer walking back to my room here than in reno. and i like the solitude here, and the poker action here is looser too on the 4 nites a week it actually goes. plus i like the working internet. to listen to the radio, utube, etc. my landlord said to go with att for under $29 a month and they require a 1 yr commitment and another contract type situation is the last thing i want right now. he wont let anyone use charter due to a previous experience charter is banned on their property due an issue with him and charter.

    1. Nothing feels better than a good vbj session. Keep up the great work and get that roll back to $10,000.

  9. I know this will probably fall on deaf ears, but here goes: Tony if by chance you make it back to $10,000 from the vbj machine in the next day or so, please consider getting on the next bus/train back to Reno where the temptation to martingale it all back is not there.

  11. Tony, If you find a dentist in Vegas that will sedate you, and guarantees that you will wake up, please print thier name and phone number. I have a good friend that is looking for one. Thanks L.I.V.
