Life on Tilt

Well i certainly have played a lot more deepstacked poker in the past month than ive played my entire life. (by deepstacked poker im referring to all the times ive had over $500 on the table in the $1-2 NL). for a while, i thought it was helping me have bigger wins. (it was). it can also help u have bigger losses.

But after Saturday nights $800 loss, i dont think its a good idea anymore. i never should be carrying that much cash on me, and i sure shouldnt have 10% or more of my lifes savings on the table. Poker Kats idol, Chris Ferguson (looks just like him) said to not ever put more than 5% on the table. to me that is even much too high and id prefer 1-2%. he is thinking about people who can go broke multiple times and get back into action selling off things they own for $5-50k repeatedly.

Vince told me he got a piece of mail from terribles fernley that i have $100 in free play til the end of april but i cannot find a ride yet. theres no bus.

The BBJ hit at the atlantis tonight while i was playing at the Peppermill. im sure the game was shorthanded but its not really more than a few hundred players share. reno tends to keep jackpots small and pay out high hands instead which is good.

also tried sitting in the $3-5 NL for a while tonight too, and that didnt work out either. i min bought for $200 and flopped a set on a flop of 568 with 2 clubs. an asian guy bet $25 and i made it $85 with $102 behind. (how was my bet sizing there, not that it made a difference). turn comes 4 and he puts me allin and i felt pot committed to call the other $100, he had 87. and i missed the boat on the river.

found out that Bovada has a way to play online cash games from your cell phone, which i never knew about til i seen another guy at the table playing on Bovada. dont expect to be able to chat on it, or play sngs or tourneys. its strictly for cash games or zone poker games. its NOT the application u would think from looking at the apple store, (thats a sports bet application). its going thru the website WITHOUT downloading. be aware its not easy to see the small type of the suits to know if u have a flush if u dont have excellent eyesight.

i made a 3.30pm tues dentist appt and i hope i wake up in time to keep it. its only for a complete xray of the entire mouth (not just the one area). $100, and its with the dentist Karen likes. im afraid to have them do any work since they dont offer any sedation. i really need to know which tooth, for the tooth where i had the pain the 2 previous nites (but not last nite thank God) was in the area of the tooth on the far upper right side where its slanted jagged on the bottom, etc. The thing that really scares me is its the first time in ages somethings been extremely sore. and i feel possible soreness in the gums up there when i feel around with my finger.

Remember i still have the May 15 appt at the oral surgeon. i could just wait til then, give them a new xray from the other dentist and then it cost me about $1500 maybe instead of $700-800 to be put to sleep if its multiple teeth or a wisdom tooth also. i still need someone to go with me to that appt or they will refuse to service me.

at the earlier $1-2 table tonight where i lost the first $110, i got pissed off once when a guy with only $16 left bet $10 and left $6 behind. either bet it all or check dammit, i feel like u are suckering me into a call. i had 88 and made a small preflop raise. the flop came A96 all in clubs of which i had none. what did he most likely have? i folded.

    1. Poker "Kat" Martin i kinda think you also look like David Carradine, from the old "Kung Fu" t.v. series. Either way its a great addition to any poker game. I would sit at your table that's for sure!!!!

    2. Great, pull up and chair and you can explain to me why you think "gays are evil spirits".

You didn't "miss your boat on the river" you were wayyy... You missed quads or a 7 for a chop.

    Did u see the dentist?

  5. i woke up about 6pm. (its not good for ur health to use an alarm clock, when u get as old as i am, the body needs to sleep as long as it does naturally without being forced awake by outside means, changing ur schedule doctors will tell u isnt good for ur health). besides why pay for 2 xrays? the oral surgeon in may will take xrays anyway, and thats the one willing to put me to sleep if i bring someone with me.

    1. So you are the expert on what is good for your health now and are willing to follow the rules or guidelines however ridiculous they are when it comes to sleep and/or whatever YOU want to do. But hey if it comes to eating health and exercising, your view is aw fuck it who cares what is healthy! I c what u are doing there.

      Good luck

    2. make a dentist appointment and blow it off...not too smart at all (plus rude, but what can you expect?)

    3. Hopefully they'll bill him for it.

    4. You're right. Putting off tooth infections (for years) which can kill you is superficial compared to sleeping in.

    5. So just so we have things straight in the near future...

How many teeth have you already lost? Let's get a count on the number of teeth that you currently have in your mouth.

Once the baseline is established we will next deduct the number of teeth removed in the near future.

Then the betting starts as to when you have ZERO teeth.

    6. In the past couple of years, how many times have you made appointments with doctors or dentists, and then not showed up--without calling in advance to cancel or reschedule? Do you understand how inconsiderate that is? Do you understand that they hold that slot in the schedule for you? Do you understand that your conduct means (1) you cost the office the money they could have made from another patient taking that time slot, and (2) another patient who needed to be seen urgently couldn't be accepted because they were holding it for you?

It is repulsive conduct, Tony. It is unacceptable, inexcusable when your excuse is so pathetic as you wanted to keep sleeping and don't like alarms.

Most practices, if you do that twice, they will refuse to make any more appointments for you. So do you want to start racking up being banned from doctors and dentists the way you are from casinos?

    7. i didnt let the appt go simply to keep sleeping, though i feel getting enough sleep is very good for u so u dont have big losses at the tables. i let it go because at the last moment i thought why pay for the same xray multiple times?

and i assumed they probably figure a lot of first time patients might not show, so they squeeze them in at a time they arent doing anything else or at the same time as someone else and just take whoever shows up. thats why u sometimes have long waits, they schedule multiple people for the same time because they assume some wont show. you might be right, for those whove been prior patients, naturally they expect them to show up. they probably gave up my spot long before the appt time once i never answered the call reminding me of the appt.

what right to people have to give me a hard time though, when they wouldnt give anyone else a hard time for doing something similar. its only because i have a blog, and my life is out for anyone to see. the same people complaining about this are the same people who constantly ask for setups, bitch at the dealer for not scrambling the deck, leave for an hour come back and rack up their chips, and yet all anyone ever wants to do is complain about me. i dont think im no different than anyone else. im saying its hyprocritical when everyone is this way, and yes i agree that i shouldve called, but i really didnt think it would inconvenience them to the extent you and others think it did.

    8. Everyone is NOT this way. People give you a hard time because you're a selfish prick.

  6. im at the laundry up the street from where i live and theres not a single employee on the property so im doing the laundry myself. this is one time the verizon wireless modem really came in handy or id not been able to use the internet while doing the laundry. id say 75% of the people living where i live are more white than Mexican. at the laundry 95% are mexican or asian. why dont laundrymats accurately represent the people living in the block or 2 next to them?

    1. because they generally represent only who does not have washing machines and dryers (and now many places that rent include them in the apartments as well)

    2. Next time before you make your rant about non - whites taking away all the jobs, think about this economic reality.

    3. Laundry Mats can be cool. A lot of times, the Apartment complex and such doesn't have a facility on site, as I'm sure you understand through the fact you are using one yourself. I still use them for really large stuff that doesn't fit in an average machine like comforters, sleeping bag, and assortments of the etc. Also, some social and cultural demographics see it as a common ritual in a shared experience.

  8. I guess I must be in the minority in your eyes, as I have never paid to have anyone do my laundry. Did you notice how much money you saved by doing it yourself?

    1. i think it wasnt much difference, maybe about $10 less. probably more costly when u consider that over the long haul, my time is worth over $14 per hour. Learning that my time is worth over $14 an hour at the poker table really helps me to know what i should be doing with my time, though us poker players are lazy and often dont want to. same reason most of us arent loudly insisting our congressman supports the right to play online.

    1. every time i lose a big amount, it always comes right back, so its nothing but variance, thats why i never let it effect me too much

    2. Just keep a good attitude and get plenty of REST!

    3. If variance doesn't really affect you that much, WHY ARE YOU BANNED FROM SO MANY PLACES???
