thank God for online poker

well im glad i got a few things off my mind. spent $80 on xmas gifts for mom and son, $13 to mom for the DVD she wanted and the rest to my son for his gifts he wanted. how is someone 23 and still enjoys snoopy videos and charlie Brown?

my books that i ordered myself, that were supposedly to arrive today and got delayed til tomorrow, supposedly because of bad weather between denver and casper wy i seen no sign of, are now scheduled to arrive by tomorrow evening. (i constantly check the ups tracking site). listening to the troopers newest 2 videos now as im updating the blog. or to be more correct the sound of the video, not the pictures.

back to $14,056, after paying that expense, and the money i paid sunday for 2 more weeks here, making it 7 weeks total. the reason the roll went up is because i got the 2nd withdrawal for $322 off bovada now, and i cant do anymore til jan. hopefully that one will be much bigger. i still have $502 there. its gone up. 2nd reason the roll went up was this weeks $350 freeplay that i have to wait til tues each week to get instead of sunday. no big losses on VBJ lately, unless u count 2 $400+ losses. but also a couple of $300+ wins.

Thank God bovada is there for those of us in the US still. without it, i dont know where id be doing well at poker. i still think i should leave right after i get my package. even cadillac jacks hardly gets a game except the 2 days the blinds too high. there is a good fri nite omaha at silverado and thrus night mix at saloon 10.

i definitely dont spend anywhere near the time i should grinding low stakes poker, not like i did in my 20s when i didnt have the internet, (or a room to sleep and just sit back and relax in--which is why i put in way more hours). not that it benefitted me then, but putting in the hours sure benefitted me in reno.

re-read a lot of old past threads regarding KOD incident and other things, and i sure feel bad about jumping to the wrong conclusion. hopefully ill never be that desperate for money again to need the help i needed with stakes and bills so much then. i dont remember how, but somehow i came back from that and got the roll up to 29,000+ before i returned to self destructing. most never thought i would, or should even play poker. i wish i wouldve treated koala better too. i'd forgotten a lot of other favors people had done before too til i read about them.

  2. when I passed through deadwood, the games were just that. I couldn't fold kings when I knew he had the set, toughest part of the game imo. omen? That Sturgis bar on tv with the dreads and the boobs, burned down the one night I was there. Cool you're winning online tony, keep it up! I will try soon, miss that void filler in my life.

    2. Thank you Tony. Its all water under the bridge and not serious enough to get upset about. I do understand that at times things you do and say, do not always make sense to others. Doesn't matter as long as you are OK. Probably a good idea for you to head back to Las Vegas for a while and play some poker instead of dumping your money into the vbj machines. Good luck and hope you have as nice a Christmas as you can.

  6. will most likely be heading into vegas to vinces house sun-wed of next week, getting very tired of the ONLY decent poker most of the time being online. good news is ive won close to $1000 online total since coming. worry ill continue to lose on this VBJ, no idea why, i keep refining my system to make sure the bigger bets get made on better counts only.

when i get out of here, who can assist in helping me select buying something like an RV, mobile home, van, whatever i can get for under $2500 and where to put it without being able to drive? would like to never worry about being homeless. this would take a load of stress off my mind then i could be near any poker room. i dont know the first step to buying something like this, and id like an experienced person in the vegas area to show me the ropes so id be able to protect myself in the deal. no idea how to find it cheap enough, how to qualify to just pay cash outright, and where to park it where i could get wifi, etc for the lowest fee and be approved to do it. might be willing to pay for assistance. not having to ever worry about where to store my things and live would be a relief, who can also show me where to learn to drive, learn how to get approved, etc. i find it funny yrs ago how so many helped me survive with small stakes, gifts, etc, but no one ever would pay for dentistry and doctoring which wouldve been much more useful, instead they said to use the govt, which Jesus wouldnt approved. Jesus says we are supposed to pay for the needs of the poor ourselves and take them in, but ive never been well off enough to really do that for anyone. but those who are employed, 90% of them are well off enough to. im not nearly as well off as ive thought since i never got credit, and most survive that way. ive found it all can vanish in a moment, over 60% already has. but yes those things wouldve improved my life far better than money. im just glad the money helped and is what got me back to much better shape and financial independence. its sad how fast im reapproaching the broke jean days again. the good samaritan in the bible (for those who dont believe me) didnt tell the guy to go apply for govt help, he took him to an inn and paid for everything. true, good christians do what they can for the homeless and poor, regardless of if they make their living gambling or not. we know now all those who said on RTP i need to stop gambling (vook, etc) were wrong, because its what got me back on my feet. (poker in reno where theyres no VBJ) i shouldve never made the trips to tahoe but at least i got far luckier there than here. but it got me too lazy, got me out of playing JUST poker, and now im not getting in the hours. 10 hours week plus bovada. no wonder im not getting any money. u have to work to make money, and i kind of quit my job foolishly. im just lucky my healths and teeths still held out, but i do think it needs fixed soon as i can. im still proud to not have surrendered my freedom to being trapped on disability for life like mom and son. i cant imagine a worse fate. we can all thank the Lord we live in a non moslem country where its not illegal to gamble.

    1. Enjoy your stay at Vince's, do something for me though. Keep track of your mood for 1 week with no VBJ. Especially being in the center of all that action out there. Remember be honest with yourself about how you feel even if you don't touch it for just 72 hours. You really have no idea what kind of monkey you have on your back my friend. It is not joke, we aren't kids anymore.

    2. Now the real problem is that your burnt out on poker. You're so programmed to make a plus for the day, you turn to gaming equipment for a quick "filthy fix". No one wants to look at the same arrogant players act like they know some secret at a poker table. It happens to the best of the players Tony. They become burnt out on simple poker scores and want an easier way to make a score. Your just teasing yourself right now, until you heal from the addiction completely your wasting your time traveling to places that has VBJ machines. I have been through what your going through FOREVER. What do you think happened to Todd, and several other friends from Tunica to Biloxi and in Vegas. They became junkies and gradually became worse until they had to quit the lifestyle all together. Humble beginnings are a great way to remember how you should appreciate what you have. Do you realize how many dirty, lying, crooked secrets people are using against each other out there in the fake corporate world where anyone can be trained to do the job, but the employer highers according to statistics instead of merit! You need to relax and realize your dodging many demons out there that have set up the legal systems and corporations in this world. Be happy to have family, friends, and pocket money! You have to be a real naive person not to see what Satan has set up here. But most are lost in the pride and ego's right now. Trying to be smarter than the other guy. It is a freak show out there. Stop and smell the roses Tony your feeding us Bologny. Sweet "P"pp knows it too.

    4. Uh, once again I have to remind your feeble brain that GAMBLING did not indeed get you back on your feet. You had been gambling for years in broke small stakes games while begging for the buyins, sleeping on the streets and smelling like dodo. What got you back on your feet and off the streets is when your Mother got you on SSI, the backpay from that SSI, the low cost apartment, food stamps, and medical coverage. To this day, you are still much worse off than if you had stayed on that path and not thrown away all the money on this gambling addiction. I have said a million times you would have zero worry of being homeless, or not having enough money for medical care if you had not thrown this gift away. So all your bullshit about having to be an asshole to everyone when you lose money is unnecessary since you should have plenty of money to live if it were not for gambling addiction.

So, since you chose this road, be happy about it. You could be back in Lyons sitting in your apartment with food and more unhappy I guess (and they probably have Bovada in Lyons, right?)

    5. You aren't capable of learning to drive, never mind actually gathering the required documents to have a state issue you a driver's license. Therefore, purchasing a motor vehicle would be stupid.

If you'd like to prove me wrong, then get a learner's permit. One is required before you can get legally get behind the wheel of a car. Every state has very clear instructions on what is required to get a learner's permit. If you can't figure out how to get one in any of the states you frequently traipse through, then this proves my point.

Hello - I hope you're doing well. I'm glad to see you've held on to some of the money you had at the peak. You've still got a nice nest egg to help support your decisions.

Here's a nice link to a page that addresses Christians who misinterpret, as you did, the story of the Good Samaritan and take that to support a very limited govt:

  7. Tony you need to STFU on not having dental work and health issues addressed by other people who instead staked you in poker and did other things instead. You were fulling capable of taking care of both dental and health issues when you were over $20K and your GREED prevented you from doing so. Once again you have no one but yourself to blame for not attending to your dental and other healthcare needs.

  8. If you are in charge of an RV, eg have the keys, and are in the vehicle, mean that you need a licence. I ask as in the UK the person deemed in charge of the vehicle, should have insurance and a valid licence, unless they have a provisional licence and are in the company of a licensed individual.

  9. well my Bovada roll just dropped to $333. was briefly at $602 2-3 days ago. what do u think of the other fellows play in this sng?

there is 5 of us, and 3 of the initial 6 double their $130 buyin. im in 5th place with a bit over 940 blinds are 25-50 about to go up to 50-100. im in the BB, guy with 1600-1700 makes it 130. big stack reraises to 415. i shove with QA, (probably not good, but u can see, i was still ahead). original raiser lays down 55 other guy calls with a5.

board comes 33KJ5. he never shouldve raised, never shouldve called, and hit the 1 outer on the river. other guy was swearing he folded 55 as he did right in doing so.

    1. "other guy was swearing he folded 55 as he did right in doing so. "

Why is folding the best hand pre-flop, flop, turn, and river "right"?

Maybe you *should* just stick to blackjack.

      Delete
    2. in this situation, most everyone would fold 55 preflop, not knowing theyre ahead. with 2 raisers either being a huge underdog or very slight favorite. he sure didnt fold the river. he didnt play bad but the guy with a5 sure played it bad. i didnt play bad either, getting the worse hand that i dominated to call me, (and the hand beating me to fold.)

    3. You played it terribly by entering a $130 SnG. Martingale for the win!

    4. Shoving AQ with no fold equity over a 3b in a DON is a disaster.

      Delete
    5. He may have been a bit too frisky 3betting with A5, but his call against your shove was fine. He was getting almost 3 to 1 for this call, which means the only hand he should fold against is AA. As whether you should have 4 bet shove with AQ in this spot, I will defer to our resident DON expert Vookenmeister.

      Delete
    6. You played the hand fine but the fact you have to question getting your money is as a huge favorite is telling

      1) there is nothing wrong with him 3 betting ace 5 when people are going to fold 55 and aq.

2)he got about 5-1 on his money preflop to call your all in and you think he should have folded. You have NO CLUE what you are talking about if you think he should have folded.

      Delete
    7. the point he shouldve folded was when the guy with 55 made the first raise.

      Delete
    8. were i not getting shortsstacked, id not got involved either, but i felt it was a great shot to dominate a hand and be a big favorite so i wouldnt be one of the ones highly likely to bust next. maybe vooks right and i had time to wait it out more, but i did read the situation right about dominating the hand. does that not matter however? is getting called really this bad in DONs?

      Delete
    9. Depending on whether you or he was suited, you were between 67.5% and 73% to win heads up against A5 (see how important suits matter when it comes to the math?). That means if you were in this exact situation 100 times you would double through the leader about 70 times and bust out about 30 times. There is already aggression shown by 2 players in this hand, but with 20 soon to be 10 big blinds and a hand as strong as AQ, assuming the big stack is playing fairly aggressive/bad, I think this is an easy shove. You just have to deal with the variance, which is probably a good reason why you don't want to play in a SNG for 25% of your online roll unless you're willing to replenish it after a small amount of bad luck.

      Delete
    10. Your e being results oriented as usual. I fold AQ.

I like a range of AK, QQ+ there. yiure rarely gonna see him with A5 there. More likely A quirky AK play.

Shout out to Koala. He's a good guy. He's been your friend forever and used to be one of your few original defenders on AVP. He always mean well for you. He just tells it like it is

  10. To Poker & Gambling 24/7 your latest comment makes all the sense in the world but you see Tony doesn't think that people like himself and I guess people like myself should be on disability and be getting help from anybody. It doesn't matter that sime of us have a medical condition that requires that but I've seen him say time and time again people should not be getting help from the government they should not be on disability they should not be on this or that. I guess he's referring to me but when it is the difference between keeping my leg and losing it yeah I'm going to take the help from the government and collect disability but I guess our degen VBJ player thinks he's above that and better than those of us that have to deal with this. He often says on Twitter he doesn't want to get into the financial situation I'm in. I got news for you Tony and I know you'll never understand this, but even though you may at the present time have more available money than I do, I am far far richer than you ever will be and money doesn't have a damn thing to do with it.

People who have tried to help him over the years know that doing so is one of the most frustrating experiences. Plus, we all know that he thrives on the attention, even if it is critical.

    5. As I said many times, I had one key that was sluggish, then eventually stopped working and being your doppler twin, I was lazy to fix it (well, I did thoroughly clean it several times and removed the key). For a short bit I worked around it, then a second key went dead. I did not want to transfer from my poker laptop to another machine, so I searched Google (can you imagine) to figure out how to replace the keyboard on my laptop model (since I had no idea how to do it). And boom, ordered for cheap, arrived quickly, and 10 minutes later the new keyboard was in. Easy peasy.

  11. Tony the idea of getting some type of home is applaudable. Prob not a vehicle. There are A LOT of cost associated with them. If you have difficultly paying for health and dental care then I'm sure you will not like the cost. Also, I'm not sure you actually want to stay in one place, you appear to like being nomadic. Lots of poker players travel, usually a circuit and not VBJ machines, so it isn't an issue but why spend the money when you won't end up staying.

Buddy I can appriciate that you don't want government assistance, but it there to help people when they are down and need the help. If you qualify, then there is no shame in taking some help...hell every post you are asking people to do one thing or another for you anyway.

Go to Vegas or Reno, stick to poker, and grind out a life.

On the poker hand...you wanted all the action you got, you just didn't want the result. That's poker.

    1. well the home needed to be mobile so i wouldnt need to be in one spot. the cost is 1000x of times cheaper than paying a few hundred weekly in rent somewhere. and never having to leave the parking lots is a real convenience. 1000s of people do this, why should u need to know how to drive if someone else can do the driving for u? i could put it in someone elses name, the cops cant say i cant sleep in someone elses vehicle if i have their permission. private security can, but if u pick the right place to park it no one will mind. pretty much the things i need people to do are things not involving money, actually i offer them a few bucks, but they still refuse.
