Trip report-casino az--hh included

well i must admit its nice to be out of deadwood before i go busto on the VBJ machine. was down to $13k out of $19k when i flew out of there on allegiant last night into Mesa. yes, mesa, not phoenix, didnt realize there is more than one airport, so i paid a huge $75 cab fee to get to my room in scottsdale. now when its daytime, ive learned how to get back there on 2-3 bus transfers. during the day starting at 4pm theres shuttle service to talking stick for a few hours not too far from the hotel too. from mesa ill be able to buy many cheap allegiant flight to lots of cities, including wichita if i want, vegas if i want, cali if i want, south bend (near the boat in gary) or grand rapids mi. got 2 nights on priceline for $126 including fees. better than $90 night, but of course i need something much less expensive, and quickly.

no chargers in casino arizona, but at least u can use phones. the rake is horrible, $2 on the flop plus $1 preflop, but the $2-3 NL is beatable. ($300 cap betting). i was up $407 once, (from being $260 stuck) but when i left i was only up $187 dammit. but hey the action is good, if anyone here been there theyll verify it. one-two of the guys seemed to know of me.

first thing i did was get a players card, and i got $8+ in comps while playing. i couldnt find a single VBJ machine though the chaperone swears they exist, must be in other casinos. plenty of roulette machines or craps here. they do have the bartop even money kind i didnt play. its odd how u can only straddle UTG here.

the splash pot promo middle of the night seems quite easy to hit. but not the hand itself. i was most glad to learn about shuttle service in the afternoons. seems the regular bus doesnt get as close as id like, and the cab or uber fare is more than expected. not nearly enough cheap motel options nearby either unless i havent found it yet. seems to not be any cheap weekly hotels unless far out in phoenix, and im sure not ready to commit to 60 days thru extended stay america.

i think i should fly right back out of here to where i know i can live cheaper. not used to $2-3 blinds either but it was good action. just wish id left sooner. several good players and several bad players, especially seat 3 who reminded me of the black pimp. seat 1 seemed to know me. i sat in seat 8, table 5. seat 9 the drunk guy was the best player there, along with seat 7 young kid. we all were winning lots.

the really important HH to talk about is a hand i folded on the flop, that most wouldnt and were surprised i did. i limped my blind with KJ of diamonds. flop comes 96Q all in diamonds. i bet $8, seat 1 makes it $16, seat 2 (old man been there many hours with everyone covered bets $60), kid in 7 whose winning bets $155. the kid has about $400, i have over $700. i worry 2 might reraise, so i fold. both my neighbors in 9-10 verified what i had after the hand. it was a good fold, kid had nut flush.

and later i made a bad call throughout cause seat 1 really seemed to know me and might be running me over with lots of raises when i limped, but no he had the close to nuts.

see lots of suite type extended stay places online here in scottsdale and further south, but they are more like $350-400 weekly with taxes, not really that cheap then theres uber fare too. at least its not nearly as costly as the foxwoods area. i just cant bring myself to commit to 60 days here to get a good deal. maybe others have ideas? i dont know who lives here who reads my blog besides wec.

    1. so far, this is exactly what ive been doing. 0 losing sessions in 4 days, and maintaining $60 per hour win rate going into 32 hours.

  2. Og course, WEC and I BOTH told you that Phoenix was bad for you for many reasons, but you had such a woody to go there that what anyone says doesn't matter.

thundering36 is going to Las Vegas Dec 26-30 fyi. And PPP is going next month. I'd keep my hand on the sockroll at all times in January, if you catch my drift.

    2. Why are this guy's comments appproved? They are all 100% hate. I am going to troll this cat guy so hard next time I see him in Vegas. This vacation will probably end just after christmas so it won't be long.

  4. Awww... Tony, you won't be in Vegas next Sunday. I guess I'll just have to go alone to Bally's Sterling Brunch.

  5. good news is i won just over $1200 playing 2.45am to 10am. my new win rate, for 15 hours play in the $2-3, is $93 per hour. i doubt that will be sunstainable longterm. if wec were around, im sure he would know who the regs are, including the same 3 old men coming in this time every morning to my game, along with the guy wearing the name tag in it. met sal musto on my twitter last night. he left pissed after losing a big pot, but i think he was still doing well. i wasnt the one who won it. his name isnt sal.

used the uber to go check out of my room, find a new room thru a special priceline deal, for $103 for sun & mon nite total. so thats better than the $126 i paid for the previous 2 nights. this is an even nicer location, near lots of stores. i see lots of deals others dont see, being very familiar with how to use priceline, and being a longterm customer logged in under my account shows me special deals no one else sees. its much cheaper booking this way than off the hotels website, im saving like 30-40% off their lowest rates.

im near my bank too, and uber wont be much different here. $2 more is all. hopefully no more surge pricing like yesterday during bar closing time. scottsdale is tremendously safe compared to phoenix or other cities. still wish i had good weekly or monthly deal though, dont want to be forced to always changing to new unknown room deal i dont learn in advance til booking. or moving so often. prices go up in jan on those extended stay america deals too, theres like 4-5 of them in this area, and the $1125 is much more than the $903 summer price its about to go up $300 more or so in jan. still dont want 60 day committment.

those sure are easy and good games in this cardroom though. i asked the room rate there for playing, and i was told $149 instead of $199. of course later i found a way to get it on priceline $94 day but today only had i wanted. its not really right the customers of the cardroom should pay higher prices than priceline. im sure 100s dont realize theyre paying more, serves them right for not reading the blog religiously.

    2. I stay at Talking Stick for free, is that a good deal? I think Tony could make good money in Phoenix based on style of play. It's just they still not put up with any of the baby bullshit for long.

    5. even the place next door i wouldnt want to walk thru the lot at night, and its not really economical, its $109 nite. im better off paying $50 or less nite thru priceline with the uber farther out. how do u get them free, what u playing besides poker? probably VP which i know better than to play.

    6. Naw I selectively play certain slot machines (generally progressives with jackpots in range where they normally pay - ie Buffalo Progressive over $30K - and also games where I see from observation they are 'hot' ie Konami games designed with Action Network)

      Delete
    7. Just to clarify - I have a whole list (in my head) of a large number of favored progressives and the level they generally pay off and I religiously only play those when the number is right.

A while back I think you said it was in the $14 to 15 per hour range. Has it increased or decreased?

    1. when i lost my records several months back i didnt track for a few weeks, then i started again in foxwoods only tracking $2-5 which quickly turned negative from positive. ended up not tracking again til i came to phoenix where im now at $60 hour for 32 hours of $2-3. still have no $1-2 play tracked anymore. im curious what the $2-3 will show by 1000 hours.

  7. I've played at Talking Stick 12 times - 11 winning sessions. All of the above comments are correct. Negotiate a deal to stay close for a month. You'll be amazed how much better you'll play if you are not worrying about moving rooms and Uber rides.

  8. Great blog! Try airbnb for short term housing. It seems like the main contributer to your down swing is not having stable housing. I can't imagine trying to concentrate on playing poker or vbj under that stress. Best of luck

I TURNED IT IN TO SECURITY OFFICER DAVID KELLEY OF SAMS TOWN SECURITY. AND YOU WERE NOT HOMELESS YOU HAD A BANKROLL OF OVER $9,000 AND WAS STAYING IN A ROOM.

    4. this is the only reply u sent, no others. its so hard to accept this as truth, since u were more broke than me and said how badly u needed the $20. yes i was staying in the budget suites 1 block up the street, but i was about to move out being down to $1200. i remember it much more clearly than u. all i remember was how scared i was if i didnt let u take the $20, and i felt as violated as if ud held a gun and forced it from my pocket. i never got over it, and if u were really a good person, with any compassion and love of Jesus for the mentally disabled, ud not incessantly trolled me ever since i told u how much it bothered me. scarred me badly for life. u were 100% broke, i was feeling broke since i was so much worse off then than i am today, and felt the fair thing was to split it since i seen it right before u did. u walked directly outside the casino so i just dont believe this. does anyone else u know well believe it?

    5. how badly i needed $20? Dude i had $3,000 in my pocket. wtf you talking about? Now u admit to staying at Budget Suites yet you said you were homeless. Dude having a roof doesnt mean you are homeless. Hell I was staying at Sams Town for those couple nights so there was no way like you said i took the money and walked out. (I still have my receipt for proof) You felt violated? THE MONEY WAS NEVER YOURS. YOU DIDNT FIND IT I DID. AND YOU CAN CALL SAMS TOWN AND FIND OUT THAT I TURNED IT IN. LIKE I SAID THE SECURITY OFFICER WAS NAMED DAVID KELLEY. HE IS A TALL (OVER 6 FEET BLACK MAN WITH SHAVED BALD HEAD) I TAKE MY FUCKING REPUTATION VERY SERIOUS AND YOU WILL NOT MAKE CLAIMS AGAINST ME WITHOUT PROOF. For the record you better pray i never see you. Because i will give you something to fear. (For the record yes this is a threat) I am sick and tired of some homophobic, racist, dead beat dad trying to play the victim. You are a poor excuse for a human being.

Unlike you i have a job, family, and morals. Ask AkGal1 how honest i am when it comes to money, let alone $20 in particular. I will not ever put my morals into question over something as petty as money. Just because you would have willingly pocketed the money instead of turning it in like i did, speaks alot for your morals and not mine. And stop playing the mentally disabled card because it never stopped you from all your violent outbursts towards others.

So to sum this post up ............. GO TO HELL TONY!

    6. there never were any violent incidents towards others. even when i was 20 in the fake robbery attempt im sure i didnt scare her nearly as much as u and others have scared me, and i never understood why i got prosecuted when i wasnt serious. others have made me very scared id get robbed but werent prosecuted. so i felt picked on due to the autism. and not understood. at the time i didnt know i had autism, just knew i was different but not sure of the right diagnosis. ive never threatened anyone. even when i held the stapler at binions, i had no idea they would feel threatened and grab it out of my hands. guess theyre just used to someone not picking it up if they werent going to use it for a weapon, when i only meant to use it to calm myself with something in my hands. it doesnt feel good not to be trusted, and i felt i shouldve been trusted. u can identify with that im sure. ive never been in a fight i started nor fought back when being attacked. never knew how, and was too scared. i look scary but i am unable to hurt anyone. ive been bitter for life i cant get a real job due to having this felony, when i never intended to do anything wrong. id like to deal poker, its an extremely hi paying job. i got so bitter i gave up ever looking for work. i remember the days in the early 90s when i looked at like 40-50 places never getting any interviews. id feel really dumb going out to look now, ive already learned 20 yrs ago how worthless it is once u have felony on ur record. i wonder if the fact its now been 20 yrs makes a difference when applying?

u need Jesus in ur life, and ill pray for u, and ask Ray to also. Jesus forgives us, but only if we do the same for others. Jesus would never call someone homophobic, as much as he hates homosexuality. nor would his followers. that being said Jesus does love homosexuals who repent.

ive never done anything to u. except to be afraid to trust u. then u trolled me mercilessly for years without me ever mistreating u, simply because u didnt like the fact i didnt trust u. ask lightning, i dont trust anyone til i get to know them. u shouldnt take it personaly. i dont appreciate u forcing me to bring this up on the blog, id rather not discuss it here. but u wont stop posting. sure ill ask the next time im at sams town, but he sure wont remember who im talking about if u are right. and not only that i would apologize. considering how people treat me online, how would u ever expect me to believe u, (and anyone else). i would think u would understand. i wouldve let it go years ago were it not for the fact u wont let it go, and post so many troll comments for such a long time. id like to forget about it. when u know u will lose ur room in 2 days because u feel u cant afford to keep paying the $179, i consider this homeless. maybe u werent aware i seen the $20 first since i didnt speak up as fast as u, but id seen it one second before u mentioned it being there. i might accept u really felt u found it instead of me since i didnt say anything when i saw it. but $3000 in ur pocket? u swore u didnt have the money to buy into my game and thats why u wouldnt sit with me in it. (i was playing in the poker room and temporarily left the seat)

    7. YOU SAY THAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING TO ME? CALLING ME A THIEF AND CALLING MY MORALS INTO QUESTION IS SOMETHING YOU HOMOPHOBIC RACIST VIOLENT ASS. YOU BETTER PRAY THAT I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN BECAUSE I WILL MAKE YOU REGRET CALLING MY INTEGRITY INTO QUESTION.

And yes tony i had plenty of cash in my pocket. I just didnt want to sit in the game with you and take your money when i felt sorry for you. But trust me next time i see you after i kicked your fucking ass i will be glad to bust your pathetic roll. Who cares if you saw the $20 first. either way it didnt belong to either of us, that is why i turned it in. It was the right thing to do. But you wouldnt know shit about the right thing because you are a piece of shit. And in regards to me trolling you. YOU HAVENT SEEN ANYTHING YET YOU WORTHLESS TWATWAFFLE.

  12. When I lived in Peoria (West of PHX) I remember Talking Stick having a bus that would bring people from the other side of town to the casino. Maybe you can find more affordable housing in another part of the area but still be in a safe area? Of course you would have to leave when the bus was leaving. It's worth looking into anyway if you're going to stay in the area.
