I'm not all that good at managing money

$234 on a private sleeper car from Toledo to harpers ferry wv. $110 for an Uber to MD live. $214 for 2 nites in a 3 1/2 star hotel normally $159 nite close to MD live with shuttle service. $116 for 1 nite in the holiday inn express by the racetrack. $127 for a total of 2 nites in a much shittier motel where nothing worked. sure is a lot of money spent since thurs is it not, just because Ray wasnt up to driving into detroit?

But that sure was a good pokerroom in charlestown for action. and due to previous history, im sure md live is just  as well.

But without a car, and a place to live, (for $1200 a month or much less preferably, what good is it?) im not spending $116 x 30 per month just to feel secure from harm, and get wifi that works. no landlords live in walking distance, renting month to month.

nor do any by md live, although hotel options slightly less. don't even suggest living by the room in detroit. Ray showed me how 2 blocks up the street huge projects with lots of murders. looks horrible outside in the dark.

its amazing i do not have LESS money than when i left toledo. ive still got the same $15,100+ i had before i paid for ANY of this. which shows u how heavily, and how much, i won in the pokerroom in WV. $300 of which came from $2-2 omaha high. $40 from live table BJ. $150 win plus $110 loss. and so many good looking women in that room. every one taken of course. most were with a black guy, and one was older with her husband. one was with her dad and mom who dealt there.

i dont manage my health any better. my stomach is much fatter than i am. finally wear size 38, and not been to the gym since i left rays house. i sure do need to go walking, he was right. he says i might die if i dont go.

but im sure living a high quality lifestyle compared to my early and mid 20s. all the years others look for a wife i spent fighting homelessness and poverty, living in rooms that would scare me to death today. But i feel im using very poor management spending this money as fast as i win it. (this is why most pro's almost none of whom play as well as me, play higher limits than me, such as $2-5) u really do need to win in excess of $30 per hour long term to start becoming successful. or be with friends with cars and homes. what choice do i have, i cant be in the ghetto.

this is why i must leave for ACNJ. cannot afford to be here. i sure wish i could find a long term solution near some better rooms. i need more friends like Ray.

  1. WOW, size 38 for a skinny little guy. I am a stocky guy and still on 34 with a bit of a stomach...

    1. Many years ago concerned parents all came together and came up with the word "Stocky" it replaced "Pudgy". They explained this on an old episode of "Happy Days" years ago.

    2. interesting, I meant stocky in more of a muscular way, as I have a long history of weight/gym training, and sports (basketball, baseball/softball, racquetball, etc)

Why is it Rays fault that he wasn't up to driving into Detroit or just tired. Maybe he was sick. What ever the reason its not his fault you spent so much money dragging your ass from town to town and room to room. That's your choice to do that.

It seems to me that once again, you have used a friend for your convenience then dumped him to go do what you want to do.

Your modesty amazes me Tony. I mean with your extremely high IQ and your undoubted ability as one of the best poker players in the world, I can't understand why you are not a multi millionaire playing high stakes games all over the world. One would think that after 25 + years of experience you should not be playing in shitty little poker rooms in shitty little towns, rather you should be mixing it with the likes of Stealthmunk and other high profile well known poker players in high stake games. Why aren't you doing this if you are such a good player?

    1. Koala hit it spot on with the modesty paragraph Tony! I don't remember exactly whether it is a specific highrise building in Panorama Towers or the whole complex but that is where the cream of the crop of poker pros live. But someone within the next 10 mos you need to be a resident with all of those poker celebrities around you Tony. If you can't make that happen your readers will be greatly disappointed Toney!

  6. Selecting friends based on only emwhat they can do for you and never a concern on what you can do for them. Typical selfish self serving uncaring attitude you always seem to display. And if you do do something for a supposed friend you try to make sure the world knows about it 3 times over. You lack empathy and are completely self focused. I find it sad and somewhat sociopathic.

  7. Let's be honest. You aren't about money management, trying to advance in stakes, being a better poker player. You are about action. You are an action junkie. The same as any addict but your drug is action. You will ruin family and friend relationships over it. You put the action above your health and hygiene. You will burn money to get it. Your decisions and actions are all driven by the addiction. It has completely taken over your life. In fairness I have never met you in person but after years of reading your blog this is my impression of you. The fact that you have $15K is crazy. Just think if you weren't an addict and were trying to build a life.

I don't say this to be mean. To me it is very sad. Much the same as seeing someone who had so much promise but ended up addicted to drugs or alcohol and it ruined their life. You have many people who have tried to help you and have given you some great advice. I hope one day you can trust some of them and listen to them instead of the addiction.

  8. today i did about everything wrong i could. Left my jacket behind on my chair while gone from the table 2 hours blowing $170 on the VP machines since i was stuck $560 in the game. at first i was up over $250 on the vp and hit a royal with 4 coins in not 5. (dumb). but i sure wasnt up when i quit it. so i got picked up but no one knew what became of the jacket, security or the poker room swore it wasnt turned in. so i had to buy another in the mall. then i lost money in the PLO, got my $411 buyin up to $543 (after once being down to $160) then lost most of it and left. flop comes 10 8 6, i had 3 pair, along with a 9. i call (big err). turn comes J of hearts, giving me 4 to a straight flush. (10 is heart, i have the 89 of hearts). wouldve been easy fold on the turn when he bets pot but now i must call, so many outs. (he didnt have the flush draw). i miss everything, but hit the 7 for the 10 hi straight so i thought we might chop. he flopped the straight, and turned the Q hi straight.

    1. When we were texting, I told you to keep away from the VP / BJ! I said it would be a stupid idea and you would doubtless wind up losing. Why you never listen to anyone's advice is beyond my wonder...

    4. Perhaps you could check eBay for your missing jacket. I understand that many clothing articles taken from celebrities are for sale on eBay.

  9. Regarding the blog title - We have told you this forever and also you aren't very good at managing ANYTHING including your simple life.
15k isnt going to follow you into the grave.

    1. Besides eating better you actually need to start digesting your food better as well.

I am in the same boat btw. Here is what I started taking two weeks ago...

First thing in the morning one each of the following:
Zenwise Labs: Green Tea Extract + vitamin C (725 MG)
      Hyperbiotics: Pro-15 (5 Billion CFU - 15 strains)
Schwartz Bioresearch: Premium Ultrapure (Caralluma & Fimbriata)

      Before lunch and before dinner:
Zenwise Labs: Advanced Digestive Enzymes (Lipase, Bromelain, Amylase)

So I have 4 bottles of supplements that I bought off of Amazon for under $100. The equivs are likely available on the shelf at Walmarts as well.

    2. im uncomfortable with the idea of pills. mom uses some other type of nutritional supplements for her and my son.

  12. So continue to "worry" about your health but do absolutely nothing about it because it takes away from your gambling money and gambling time.

Good that your "worry" though - that should fix things pretty quickly.

  13. Don't forget how much better you look after you workout with all your blood flowing and that fresh feeling. Remember that big smile that woman laid on you at Wal-Mart outside Detroit? That is because you felt good and it showed my friend..

  14. I am not commenting to make TBC change his life. That is just what he wants to do with it. From a distance it just looks like he is grinding cash games. One day he will be way down on cash. This is known as variance. How long TBC will be able to live like this is unknown. I have variance issues too. The difference is I worked my whole life in a regular job and earned a nice pension. I have a house and a car. It sure makes playing cards much easier.

    1. I worked my whole life too Ed performing duties no one wanted to do, so the well connected and rich could have more. That still don't change the fact that the Bee Gee's were the first to perform in front of a live studio audience in spandex.

  16. Tony:

Don't worry about having to go to the gym (although, adding some weight training would do wonders for toning), just focus on WALKING 30 MINUTES A DAY.

Do that for two months and I promise you you'll be amazed at the results:
