keeping on keeping on

Thank God the Taj mahal never closed down, for im kind of dependent on it. they will give me 2 nights 2 times per week (instead of 1 time per week like the trop). so i do think its important to keep up the BJ play there. its the one thing ive not been losing in thankfully, and even though u pay $13 daily for the net its a good option to have.

sorry for the lack of updates, but not lots is happening. just simply surviving day to day pretty much the way ive done my entire life. Thank God bovada never got shut down, for its supplying me with a slightly bigger bankroll than id have otherwise. i received my $383 withdrawal in less than a week, adding approximately 2% to my total net worth.

My free rooms might not be totally free, but it sure is lots better than MD live options, (though the poker isnt as good). BJ is better though. im either paying $12 night, $15 night or $28 night in resort fee depending on where i get the free room that particular night.

if i wouldve done nothing but play poker here, i think my money wouldve been close to where it is now. i wouldve avoided the $900 loss on 3 card poker in the video machine in the trop, but ive won close to this overall on live BJ. would probably only be about $200-300 better off. but the big deal is im getting comped about $2000 worth of rooms per month when u consider weekends, with free slot or BJ matchplay.

lots of good looking women here in atlantic city, all of whom i cant have of course. miss the days 20 yrs ago when Lisa/Kim was working the streets and once played poker with me. seen one by the jitney stop outside of Trop, and actually talked to me on the jitney once a scary looking guy got off and we were the only ones left on. wish i had her email. she mightve been working. then some in the poker tables or the blackjack tables, all of whom were taken, including one this morning who plays Golden nugget tournies and is friends with the guy who made a killing in the colusses. and 1-2 others walking Pacific.

but im not dumb like in my early 20s. (or my 30's when i gave so much to Britni because i mistakenly considered her a true friend who wouldnt disappear) and this is why ive still got over $15,000 now. with all my flaws i shouldnt have a dime to my name. i look forward to when ill ever be able to play $2-5. so much of my lifes been wasted in too small of games. the fact they have must moves and time charges in so many rooms has had lots to do with why i never got into it. u dont need to deal with this bullshit in $1-2.

spent over $2000 since leaving toledo, mostly on hotels. yet im still at the same $15,100+ when i got on the train before i bought the ticket. how do i do it?

pokerstars will be in operation march 21 of this month. i thought the live poker room had to first be open in resorts for this to happen? guess not.

  1. 1)you're not good enough to beat 2/5 nl

    2) losing at blackjack in the long run doesn't make your rooms "free"

3)time is the only fair way to charge for a game. games are built around bad loose players. those players should not pay the poker room more for the privilege of playing than nits like you.

    1. so if u feel loose bad players benefit from time charges, are u describing yourself as such since u think its a good deal? sure does hurt the winning pro

    2. He said it is fair, he didn't say it is a good deal for him personally.

    3. it clearly benefits loose bad players to pay time. i play more hands than a nit like you but not crazy loose. at a full table time vs rake basically doesn't matter to me. when games get short handed time is a way better deal for everyone, even the nits.

overall I'm better off with time games. you play very few hands so at a full ring table you are better off with rake but it is a grossly unfair way to charge people to play poker.

    4. and btw you're also a terrible short handed player. a good winning pro (not a 12 dollar an hour 1/2 nl player) plays a lot of short handed games at higher stakes and as games wind down in the early morning. some of these games are UNPLAYABLE with rake taken per hand, but very profitable with time rake (that is even often reduced)

    5. Reminds me a story I heard from a dealer one morning a few years ago. The 1/2 nlhe game got to HU ~2am, the floor didn't want to keep the game going but players want to keep playing, so they took full rake at 10% up to $5 max. They had ~$1000 on the table, by the time they called it quits at 9 am, there was $100 left.

    6. i agree with 4 or less players i should win 1-2 per half hour, making time cheaper. but we were mainly referring to full tables.

  2. Have you considered that you still have $15k (with the flaws that you admit exist) due to Lady Luck shining her magic upon to you? Others might say you are "blessed"? Either way, keep it up and you'll have $20K before you know it!

  4. I hope you're doing an hourly rate and making a comparison to Detroit. I am kinda curious what the difference will be.

Tony I am really curious by some of the expressions you use when referring to women. Why do say you "can't have them?" I wasn't aware that women could be classified as possessions unless you are from some middle Eastern Country that still condones slavery. Or maybe where you come from in Lyons Kansas, do they still practice slavery? Why do you say that the women are "Taken." That I find is a very quaint expression to use when referring to whether a woman is in a relationship or not. I was wondering if you were brought up to use these expressions, or are they words you picked up along the way to express your desire for female companionship?

    PS: What is a jitney?

    1. The Jitney is the shuttle service that goes to all of the main casino areas in AC. It's essentially a small bus. It's cheap and runs relatively frequently.

  6. I'm curious why you "couldn't win in Detroit." What about Detroit / Toledo / etc. made you into a losing player? Could it be that you're dealing with short term variance? Were you playing too many table games and not enough poker? What happened out there?

    1. i could win in detroit quite easily but couldnt win in $1-2 in toledo over the course of 186 hours, i lost. detroit is worth $40 per hour in $1-2

    2. Tony, I don't understand how you're a winning player in one place, but not the other. Please explain. Are you telling me that the players in Toledo are better than the average 1/2 players?

    3. he ran good in detroit and thinks 40 an hr is sustainable in 1/2 there. of course if he played there again he would run the second he had a few losing sessions.

    2. Thank you for the info. When I was a kid living in the Philippines in the 1950s, many enterprising Filipino people had salvaged and restored American WW2 US army jeeps which they used as a type of taxi. These were called Jeepneys. That type of conveyance4 is still in use today in the Philippines, although much modern versions of the old Willy's jeep are used. I was just wondering if they were a similar thing.

  8. I play online Bovada for one reason only--to increase my real life bankroll so i feel healthier by being less stressed over $$$. it makes me a total wreck emotionally every day of my life til i get the whole $29,200 back so im no longer "stuck".

this being said, theres no point in playing online if i cant enjoy the benefits of the winnings. so i withdrew $451 this evening, which leaves only $65 there. it will force me to play smaller, but it gets out most of the profits. were i to add it to my roll today (instead of the day it arrives in the bank like i do) my roll would be $16,000. instead its $15,549

  9. So now we get to it. You are constantly thinking you are stuck until you reach whatever high point in the past, no matter how much you win in a day. This probably also explains why you think you are "rich" and act the ass, each time you pass whatever value you have set as that high water mark.
Just so you know, you are not stuck, and , if you are such a poker genius, you should be clearing up at Bovada. But I guess that shoving and praying strategy doesn't work so good against bots.

  12. With the swings and amount you could easily lose in 1 session of 2/5NL, you would blast off 80% of you BR in the pits or machines in no time. Or whatever amount until you went back to 1/2NL.

Look what losing $200-300 does to you in 1/2NL, what about $700-$1000 loss at 2/5NL.

"pokerstars will be in operation march 21 of this month"

There is almost zero chance you are still in AC when that happens.
