aimlessly wandering around

i feel like ive not been making good decisions since i left Parx. i left because i knew i needed to go to louisiana to replace an ID, and i knew i needed to head south. plus i couldnt find good deals on plane fares out of philly. and wanted to check out de park and dover to see if those machines still existed, and if there were live BJ tables that were any good. here is the latest report.

i never got around to playing live BJ in de pk. the rules on the tables were good but they were all too full to get 2 spots. so instead i played the good paying machines. these even stand of soft 17. but the $5 and $10 min kill me because im used to only betting $1 in poor counts. won just over $1000 the first day, and lost $3500 the 2nd, won $200 on the 3rd. then they shut down for easter, just like they do for christmas. so there went the plan to check out dover, (they close too). so instead of returning to my hotel at 4am to sleep til 11, (wise choice) i spent $142 for an uber with a black immigrant muslim driver named mohammed--why cant normal people drive for uber? this being said he did a good job. waited for me to pack my bags, drove thru the drive thru to get food, and got me to my destination at md live. so i gave him a $5 tip. i would never let my feelings on someones support for isis effect how i treated them as a person, nor would i let their homosexuality affect it. u see this is how i know neither me nor my views could be hateful. this is how i live with myself. only thing i let effect how i treat someone is when theyre horribly rude to me by either calling me sir, or expecting me to rehash to them in detail how awful my day went when its none of their goddam business.

so from BWI theres numerous flights to dallas for much lower prices than from PHL. $64, $84, $104, a little after 6am, a little after 6pm, etc. im wondering if i need to book 1-2 days upfront so they dont sell out? from dallas i assume theres cheap casino shuttle into shreveport or train going east? i cant find out too much looking on google.

i greatly need this dental work done so i think ill go to toledo once i get the ID. i fear now running out of money. im down to $20,050. thats over $4500. i lost $818 in the $2-2 plo when i got to MD live. couldnt win a pot except the very beginnning. i dont think i play that game as well as pl08 or NL. i bet too much on good counts in de pk, got 2 more w2s yet lost big. im not supposed to bet over $149 to avoid this. and most of the money which needed spent on travel or dentistry still needs spent. ill be under $15k soon.

  3. A "black immigrant Muslim" is not a "normal person"? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? That Uber driver is a lot more "normal" and you are.

  4. Dang, Tony, nothing I like better than hearing the sweet, sweet stories of faith, family and love on Easter. Except I can't seem to find any reference to the Lord, His rising from the dead, any mention of family. What I read instead was of your god -- gambling -- , money, black Muslims, homosexuals, how someone was rude for calling you "sir." How unfortunate that you had to be inconvenienced by any casinos closing for Easter Sunday. I mean really -- why should any of the workers have been home with their families when they could have been assisting your gambling addiction? Thank goodness that gave you time to go to church -- ANY church -- to celebrate Easter, right? But wait ...

  5. Not sure why I can't win in live plo. I win on bovada plo. I think it's because I don't know how to adjust to the straddle. To practice I sat in $1-2 NL in de ok and straddled every possible opportunity 20 times per hour or so it worked. I got back $400 of the $3700 loss. Seems md live got rid of the button straddle except for plo

    1. Tony, at the rate you play PLO, you'd have to play for 8 years before you could say with any degree of confidence whether you "can win at PLO". You're talking like a noob.

    2. not true. i've played plo with him and he's terrible. anyone who understands plo and has played w tbc would know he's a losing plo player.

  6. I too, don't like it when cab drivers start asking me how i am doing and how my day went. So I usually tell them not so good because I have a phobia when it comes to talking to strangers which causes me to crap my pants. At that point they usually stop talking to me.

  7. i thought it would be a good idea to spend a few dollars on things i need at walmart before i lose it all and go back to being under $15k. medical, dental, and hotel costs will mostly do this. at least tomorrows plane fare is taken care of. but theres still baggage, hotel, and trip to shreveport from the airport.

so i bought a new laptop case, but its too small. 2 nicer looking shirts for $4.77 each. todays food. new tennis shoes. (finally wont have water seeping in). spare reading glasses. food such as fish i thought would be good for me.

  9. Tony, we may have to use another gym, the one by my house is filling up with 21-28 year old beautiful woman. Unfortunately this would put much unnecessary pressure on your Christian values. I think local churches should look into putting a christian gym inside them myself.

    1. Sounds like the gym is exactly in line with Tony's "Christian" values.

  10. Hey Tony,
    Remember my friend Kathleen?
Well, she lives in Reno and has a one bedroom near the Peppermill. I talked to her yesterday and she said if you're ever back in Reno to let her know. If you need a place to say, she'll let you stay there for free. She even added, "If everything goes well, we'll only need one bed."
Let me know if this sounds good to you, and I'll send her phone number your way.

    3. We met you at the Wynn poker room, and she thought it was cute that you were too shy to talk to her. She loves your blog and has even commented on it, usually in response to things I say. The bad news is that she's kinda fugly. Maybe around 300 lbs, and very bad teeth.
But no physical disabilities or wheelchairs. She'll definitely date you if you get back to Reno.

  11. To Kevin B and SBR,
You both made a post in the previous blog which I will try and answer. No of course I am not psychic. It's just that Tony is so predictable, people that know him for as long as I have, just know that this is what he will do. Tony has two main downfalls in his gambling. The first one is his machine addiction. That is one of his major downfalls over and over. Just look at his latest loss on a machine, $3000 plus, and that is all the proof I need. His second worst cause of taking hugh losses is that he Martingales, on machines and in live BJ. Myself and others have repeatedly tried to get him to stick to low stakes NL poker, and he would do just fine. I think that Tony has the skill and the ability to beat that game most of the time. He has proved that. But in his incessant need to gamble he will sit in on whatever is going or revert back to machine play to try and get even quickly if he has a bad day on the tables. Tony does not have the ability to get up and walk away from a casino if he has a bad day at the poker tables. His mindset is that he is stuck for the day and must get even. He just cannot accept a loss on poker without trying to get even.

I am keen for Tony to do well on the poker tables and I will give him as much praise as I can when he does do well. I can just as easily accept that there will be days when he does not do well on the poker tables. I have never criticized him for having a bad day on the poker tables. To me that is bad luck, or just one of those days. I have told him this many times before. What I have tried to do over and over is to get him to not play the machines, and not to Martingale when playing live BJ or the vbj machines.

Tony can do a very rudimentary count on a live BJ table, but when he combines it with Martingaling, all sense of reason seems to go out the window. I have sat and watched him play machine BJ and VBJ many times. Some of his bets make me cringe when he starts to Martingale. I speak from experience here, as a former Pit Boss in an Australian Casino. I can count which was part of my job, albeit probably not perfectly any more, or as fast as I used to be able to do.

There is no logic or sense to the way Tony tries to count on a VBJ machine. Unless you know the shuffle point, it just can't be done. Hence he Martingales to try and win that single unit he originally bet before he reaches the table limit, and he has some nonsenical notion that he knows what the count is.

Please don't get me wrong. I would like nothing better for Tony to do well as a poker player. I do understand that his Autism has a lot to do with his repetitious return to what he sees as a saviour when he is down for the day. But you and I both know that in the long term Tony will win small bets, but lose all that and more when he Martingales.

I have tried to reason with him many times. Pleaded with him to get up and walk away. To no avail. I do regard Tony as a friend and sometimes, a bit of "Tough love talk" works where normal reasoning has failed.

  13. Would the 3k you dropped on the machine cover some of the medical bills? Just a thought. By the way, it wasn't that long ago you had less than 1k. However keep going at that rate and it will about a week before you are back there. Please tell me what it is that makes you think it's OK to drop the value of a family run around on a machine you have no control over

  14. Hold up. Why is being called, "sir" considered rude? I understand that your self-diagnose autism may make it difficult to put yourself in someone else's shoes, but when someone calls you "sir," they are trying to convey respect. How could you possibly take that as rude?

    1. Jordan there is a particular type of person that uses "Sir" to feed their narcissistic, condescending, shallow minded egocentric attitude! When these type of people use the word it is not to give respect to whom they are talking to. They are actually doing it for their own selfish reasons. Of course this depends on the person. Some people truly are righteous, not self righteous!

    2. most do it because they refuse to address u by name. studies show people like to be called by their name, its one of the first things u learn in how to market a product or service. if the bravo in front of them didnt list my name i wouldnt care so much. u feel like u are at home with friends if u are where everyone knows ur name, like on cheers. most people only use it when pissed at u, like cops and security. ur friends dont call u sir. i dont think its ever been meant for respect except in the military. people who really respect ur feelings, stop doing it once they learn u prefer they dont do it.

    3. I agree that it would be rude if someone kept calling you, "sir," if you already told them you did not like it. But I sincerely use "sir," when I don't know someone's name or if I am showing respect. It could be that the Uber driver or whoever is a former member of the military or grew up where "sir" was the polite thing to say to a customer. But of course, tone of voice and the situation may indicate that it is intended as a rude statement, I suppose. Just be careful that you are not alienating or getting mad at someone who is sincerely trying to be respectful, particularly in light of your self-diagnosed autism. You may be getting angry at people who are good people merely trying to be polite.
