is Bovada as safe as it used to be? lets hope so

I had heard of the delays with VISA FF withdrawals (my method of choice) thru 2+2 for withdrawals made mid march but i've also heard reports the situations improved in april. still its illegal for them to send money to our banks, so maybe the govts been cracking down too much and it wont get better. so many new states are close to allowing online poker, (cali and PA) they might be getting ready to close. so now that i won $1221 in friday nights $30 PLO8 mtt on bovada, im not comfortable with my new balance. that too much a portion of my lifes net worth and i feel keeping more than 2% on there isnt too smart. remember the old days where so many kept 95-99% of their entire worth in lives on FTP, and lost everything and spent the rest of their lives in homelessness and poverty when FTP went under til they eventually got it back? they thought it would be safer than a bank where the govt wouldnt see it. and look how it destroyed them.

a few hundred is one thing, and im happy playing with less than $200 on there. $1355 is something else. big difference in my psycological comfort level. for that matter i wonder how safe it is storing bitcoin on bitzino.com or any other site or even a wallet.

yes i got lucky to win this, i quadrupled up before late registration closed at the 15th level (wtf) and then tripled up once more to being 2 out of over 70 left. 27 were getting paid and i slowly started coming down as the field got smaller. at one point i was 23rd out of 33. somehow i made the final table (once the bubble broke it went extra quick) and then was back into 2nd on some big pots. slipped to 3rd but somehow made it to 2nd then a hard slow fight i somehow won even though HU isnt my strength. this is why i insist on playing on this site when im somewhere i cant play on stars. no one knows my new ID there by the way.

yeah i wont use checks. i dont stay put long enough and i desperately wish to move on may 7. tired of a shitty fridge and weak wifi. where yet i dont know. but im back over $18k now, even without the online cash. 235 logged hours and still $40 per hour. dropped $2 per hour today but the 2 previous days were quite good. a lot will need to be spent soon for medical care, rent, and maybe travel.

Vince paid me and hes working on putting it up and running. somehow ive lost my last spoon too, and its too much a hassle to remember it when in walmart 1-2 times per month. need to either live closer to a store, or closer to the casino instead of so far out where its better.

luckily today live BJ came thru for me for over $600 worth. or id dropped today. lost $450 poker, then later recovered over $120 of it. at 1 point early on, was out over $100 on BJ. most of the win came in the final shoe for over $300. played 3-4 hours. i am still limiting my max bet to 2 spots of $90, (under 1%)

i will say this, without the option of Bovada my life would be worse. i dont think this will continue forever

  1. Tony, I do not know ANYONE that"kept 95-99% of their entire worth in lives on FTP and lost everything and spent the rest of their lives in homelessness and poverty ..." The major issue with Black Friday was that it STOPPED people from playing poker online on their favorite sites. Most people got their money back eventually. People who had a lot online knew they were risking it and took the risk.

You skated on the health issue this last time. Next time you might not be so lucky.

Btw, perhaps your readers in law enforcement or the legal profession can correct me on this if I am wrong, but I suspect that in your dealing with the hospital you might have been guilty of "theft of services." I know it might be something that you will rationalize away using your personal brand of situational ethics (or lack of them), but I seem to recall that many years ago some guy brought laws down from a mountain or something but the tablets they were written on got broken. I guess that means those laws don't apply, right?

Your reserved sleeper compartment (so you will have total privacy) to Gehenna awaits.

    1. actually lots of people did have the bulk of their net worth on full tilt which was very stupid

    2. I knew some people who had decent sockrolls on FT or PokerStars, but unless there were a lot more people like Tony who have relatively little, I wonder how many had most of their NET WORTH on FT.

But u see, this does not apply to Tony, as he has already broken every Commandment and Law that God ever handed down. Of course this means that Tony is heading straight for hell. There will be no Redemption, no Rapture, not even one Virgin waiting for him let alone 72 of them.

Tony is doomed, and although he will try and fool himself and others using TBC logic, he really knows he is fucked. He has martingaled himself into a position of eternal toothaches, holes in the head, ill health, angst and misery in Satan's Casino where only Lucifer's dealers get blackjacks.

    2. Well that is possibly true. But he has mentioned doing this at various times throughout his poker career. So using Tony logic, which is all he understands, that is the same as commiting the act.

  4. You gave the hospital the wrong address and then did not correct it. You had no intention of paying, even though you could. Theft of services.

The ironic part is that what you did is exactly what helped create the Affordable Care Act that you rage against. By not paying for services (which you have done the past, as well) you make the cost for services go up, the service provider raises their rates. This makes the cost for everyone else go up so our insurance premiums go up and our taxes go up that are used to support the government funded insurance. YOU are one of the big problems the ACA is supposed to fix. So at the end of the day we have YOU to thank for 'Obama' care.

(Temporarily) breaking my vow of silence to post)

Your blog is monotonous and boring. The story never changes. Ever. My roll is $xxxx . . . travel to xxxx to play poker.... game at xxxx is the best . . . lose money playing poker at xxxx ....get unstuck at the BJ table at xxxxx .....BJ rules at xxxx are great ....martingale a huge lose at the tables at xxxxx . . . New roll is $xxxxx . . . travel to xxxx to play poker . . . . win rate at xxxx is $xxxx . . . If I stayed here long term I'd make $xxxxx a year . . . but can't stay at xxxx because teeth need to be fixed . . . . lost $xxxx at xxxx . . . game is not beatable at xxxx . . . got unstuck at the BJ table at xxxxxx . . . . BJ rules are great at xxxx . . . . lost $xxxxx martingaling BJ at xxxx . . . new roll is $xxxxx . . . traveled to xxxx to play poker . . .

Most sad, this blog is a reflection of your actual life. If it's boring to follow your blog, it must be horrible to actually live this life. I'm sure your disability is largely to blame; and I'm not any sort of mental heath expert. But, I'd hope you have some power to break the cycle.

You only live once; you're getting old. Did your trip to the ER last week cause you to reflect at all? Do you ever think about what you'd like to experience in life? Are there things you'd like to do besides gamble? Are there places you'd like to go besides casinos? Do you derive happiness from your lifestyle?

We can dispute whether what you do is "work;" whether you're a long-term winner at poker; whether you are an EV or a hopelessly addicted gambler. I know no one will ever change your mind. But putting all that aside, you have a bit of money to fall back on. Why not take a week off from your "job;" travel some where you've always wanted to go to see something you've always wanted to see. Get away from "work" for a bit. Find a new hobby. Find a hobby that allows you to meet new people.

No one knows how much time we have on this earth. Perhaps gambling non-stop every waking hour of every day brings you happiness. If so, great. But it seems to me to be a miserable way to go through life. Do something fun while you still can. That's my advice to you.

    1. Tony, I should add the following:

Based on your action, you are, as a general matter, not a very ethical person. You do whatever serves your personal interests, and then you justify it. Maybe you believe your justifications; perhaps you know they are hogwash. Only you know for sure. Your recent actions with the hospital are just the latest example.

Now, I'll give you this - I'm sure many people in your situation would do the same thing. If you can get away with never paying taxes, why voluntarily do so? If you can get medical care without paying for it, and without any potential repercussions, why not scam the hospital. You are not alone. However. HOWEVER. STOP trying to justify your actions. Stop claiming you live a christian life. Stop claiming what you do is OK because of x, y, z. It's not OK. Under god's laws or man's. Just own the fact that you are dishonest and unethical. Even better -- stop PUBLISHING your actions over the internet. The difference between you and other people of similar low morals is that they are smart enough to keep this misdeeds to themselves. So, again, my advice to you is this: if you are going to act solely in self-interest/self-preservation, then (a) stop telling people about it; and (b) stop writing righteous religious / political bullshit. Just stop. Your 47 years old. Own your actions. Trust me, no one else buys your excuses and explanations. They only make you look more foolish. Learn to keep some secrets to yourself.

    2. i dont think the story is the same. i reread the old joliet post today and i dont get so riled up no more. i sure dont bet 3 hands of BJ for $300 per hand with a $7000 roll either no more. if i managed money 10 yrs ago as wisely as today, id never suffered so much in life. wouldve had better living conditions, credit, medical care, clothing, stability etc.

for over 2 yrs now, ive never had below $12,600.

i never lied to the hospital regarding my address. they never asked for it, only for my phone which i gave truthfully (wouldnt if dishonest). gave a truthful ss number too. i guess they mightve copied the address of my ID, but if they wish to assume its true, thats on them. i hate when people do this, i miss out on so much casino offers this way and people should ask. not right to assume.

odd they didnt suggest i go by the desk when discharging me too. or mention about billing to me. or to sign anything. i would guess the cost, since lab work is included, would be over $1000? no ambulance was involved, i took a cab.

u guys have no right to assume the bill wont get paid either. i never said anything about the bill, or whether i could pay it, only that they shouldnt charge someone as poor as me. and its more fair for the hospital to cover it without charge than the govt or taxpayer to do so. i assume if they dont get paid, they will find a way to seize the money out of my bank, even if its a yr long process before this occurs. what i mean is no one has the right to assume. unlike what PPP says, i never once talked about not paying. this was just assumed.

in PPP eyes, do i not even have the right to say i went to the hospital? this is all i said. this is why when people need lifesaving care, they let it go without seeing a dr, too much worry about how it will affect their credit. lots of nosy people here need to mind their own business. very judgemental crowd.

its not right either to make people choose between paying their rent, food, transportation costs or saving their life. i didnt know i wasnt bad enough to go. i thought it was life or death. sure wouldnt go otherwise.

PPP just wishes id close the blog, but he would miss it so would most of u

    3. "PPP just wishes id close the blog, but he would miss it so would most of u."

I assure you, I'd be just fine without your blog. The main intent of my post was to suggest you try doing something other than gambling while you're (or, "ur") still alive. But, if you'd rather not, that's your choice.

I mean, between the pan handling in the old days, the non-stop gambling, the constant traveling from shit hotel to shit hotel, the eating crap food, the worrying because you lost your last spoon, the searching for affectionate meth heads, the dealing with persistent health issues that you are too lazy to correct . . . it does seem like you are living life to the fullest. What more could there possibly be? So, I guess, just keep doing what you're doing.

    4. Tony, I agree no one should be forced to choose between paying rent or going to the hospital when they are sick. If only there is a way for everyone to access some sort of health care plan, without blindly hoping for charity from random strangers or rich corporations. Wouldn't it be nice if there is some sort of universal health care plan even if you are poor?

    5. YOU would miss the blog the most Tony - nobody else could really give 2 shits. Without the blog you get zero attention and you crave attention we all know that. Stop using other people as excuses for things YOU do. You didnt post the last one because it is too true for you. Without aspergers/autism you are still a person who is an asshole - jealous of everbody, etc...

  8. "i sure dont bet 3 hands of BJ for $300 per hand with a $7000 roll either no more." -- No, you bet even more when you don't have the bankroll to do it.

"i never lied to the hospital regarding my address. they never asked for it, only for my phone which i gave truthfully (wouldnt if dishonest). gave a truthful ss number too. i guess they mightve copied the address of my ID, but if they wish to assume its true, thats on them." -- No, Tony, that's on YOU! You knew they put a wrong address on the billing and didn't say a thing. That is the kind of thing a dishonest person does.

"u guys have no right to assume the bill wont get paid either." -- Seeing your history of skipping out of bills (Verizon, rental apartments, legal fines, etc etc etc), it is certainly fair to assume you will not pay it, particularly since you so conveniently allowed them to use the wrong address -- for if you never receive a bill, you can't pay it right? You crook!

"only that they shouldnt charge someone as poor as me." -- What? Places now should charge only on what money you have, not what you buy/use? A poor guy should be able to buy a new BMW for $1,000? Face it -- you are a socialist.

"what i mean is no one has the right to assume." -- We have every right to assume. Just like you argue that you can post any hateful crap you want. We do still live in Merica, don't we, comrade?

"lots of nosy people here need to mind their own business. very judgemental crowd." -- If you don't want people to comment, don't publicize what a crook you are in a public blog. And judgmental -- is this the pot calling the kettle black or what?

"its not right either to make people choose between paying their rent, food, transportation costs or saving their life" -- That is life. It is also why our gub'ment instituted the Affordable Care Act. It is hard to understand your politics, comrade.

"PPP just wishes id close the blog, but he would miss it so would most of u" -- He gets frustrated seeing the same stuff over and over. people wait for you to have an explosion or lose a ton of money. You provide entertainment that sometimes seems to defy imagination, so yes -- you are correct. People would miss your blog. However, your ego couldn't take just running your hamster on a wheel act without somehow drawing attention to yourself.

So, Tony, I do not even know why I wasted my time typing this. The circus just goes on, moving from town to town ...
