Plans. (which i never do)

Because i won over $450 on the final night in the Tahoe Biltmore, I managed to make it into reno with over $8300. then i won the first night in the $1-2 Peppermill, and when i paid my rent for a week at 6am wednesday morning, once the game broke up and i needed to immediately find housing, i had over $8100 left after paying for a week.

Last week, when my rent increased to $350, i was worried id have less, but i still managed to have over $8100 once the rent was paid. but i wasnt even making any progress except for $3 more. This week, the price temporally increased to $450 per week over the holiday weekend, but luckily those werent the days rent was due and now the sign is at $300 again. (and should still be on wed).

won a little the last 2 sessions, but my hourlys been going down. not only was june my first losing month ever in history (of $477) (from POKER i mean) im now at not much over $16 per hour and in shreveport it was over $18 for all cities combined. its now about 1330 hours. But at least im back to the $8700s from the $8100s.

still, this isnt enough to keep me from being a complete wreck on the inside, sweating every swing of $50+ profusely and feeling enormously depressed and angry every losing session. i need much more than this to manage the swings. or lower rent.

so i need to still get out of reno, either NJ, my friends house in toledo or vegas, or ??? just somewhere to relax. if i waited til july 20, i could have 10 free nights in july and 10 more in august in crystal bay again for 20 nights in a row. (10 per month i get). of course, there id be grinding online poker mostly.

The same if i rented cheap $425 monthly wifi housing in tonopah. grinding online Bovada. I dont feel ill ever get my roll back in shape with this much monthly expenses. i somehow must remove these expenses. $300-350 rent is too much every week. im missing out on lots free play too in NJ. i wont be happy til i hit at least $12,000. this is $2000 cushion for living expenses and daily variance with the $10k bankroll in backup.

i really dont see how i lived so many years with a roll under $5000 year in and out in my 20s-30s unless prices were much much less then. some of my rents were i know. $50 weekly rooming house or hotel in the 90s. $230 month my own apt in Butte MT 2002.

if i end up being seen in vegas anytime soon if i go, it will only be a brief temporary stop enroute elsewhere for a few days. from there u can fly to PHL for under $225. (essentially NJ, $15 train). im never sure where ill be. but long term housing is mandatory to find immediately. this much weekly rent feels dumb. i really need someone to buy me an RV and park it near casinos and move it periodically.

i wish i had some hand histories to liven up this blog, but unlike Rob, i dont keep notes. i will tell u one old man from Coushatta has been in my games in reno the last 2 nights. he paid me off $170 tonight, because hes got me pegged as one who bluffs. (had the nuts).

i can get 2 free nites in reno if i wish Wednesday. then on friday id need to go if i dont renew the room.

  1. Maybe PPP and AC would consider the RV investment.

  3. Somewhat confused by the title of this blog post for u see, I don't really see that youve made any plans so its sort of a lie.

Otherwise, fantastic post. I like the part where you talk about all the places you could travel to and the prices. I also like how you talk about reducing your expenses.

As for someone buying you an RV, why don't you set up an account on the site Trooper uses to raise money for cameras and such. You are MUCH more famous that Trooper and should be able to raise the necessary funds quite easily. Then you just need to HIRE and EMPLOYEE to buy the recreational vehicle for you and move it from locale to locale.

Again, superb post. The kind that keep me coming back for more.

  4. If you are worried about money, why don't you go back to Vegas. Your twitter page says it's free. Barring that, I suggest every two to three days traveling to whatever locale strikes your fancy at that point. Variety being the spice of life and all that. Some people will advise you to settle down in one spot. I don't think you are traveling enough. Maybe you could try praying to a different god each day and than going with whichever one shows the largest spike in your hourly rate?

  5. I think Billy Bob has a great idea. By the time you get done praying to all the gods, you'll be rich and retired!

  6. you say you need to find long term housing. Could you please explain what you mean by long term.

also you say you need somewhere to relax. what do you find relaxing?

  7. Just as with the Spanish speaking, I would pay good money to watch Tony do all the necessary upkeep to an RV such as draining the black water and gray water systems, replacing the freon in the fridge (obviously it would be older RV) and securing the pizza turners and microwaves for travel. The whole concept of maintenance for anything doesn't occur to Our Hero. This applies to relationships, teeth, scalps and bankroll as well. Too much hard manual labor?

  8. Tony, you're so delusional it's not even funny. Someone needs to buy you an RV? Okay Mr. Bernie Sander's free giveaway. How about actually getting a real job? Don't blame you for getting stressed about only having 8k, but for the love of God don't move to NJ with that measly roll, 8k in the NE of the US wouldn't last most people 2 months of expenses including rent. Good luck.

    1. no if in NJ, i would be living for under $200 per week, still get lots of free rooms, also would be receiving close to $200 per week in free play between the trop and the Taj. so id be living free of costs mostly. better $1-2 too, (24 hour)

    2. This is only as long as you are playing Black-Jack. A game you can not win long term.

    3. Tony if NJ is so good, why did you leave the place last time you were there?

Weekly rent at the Pioneer in laughlin is pretty cheap if I remember correctly. You could go there and try and get that felony charge sorted out. Even if you had to sit in jail for a couple of days, at least the accommodation and food would be free. We have talked about this before.

    4. i had to leave (didnt want to but i had little time left to renew my ID in louisiana). theres no such thing as cheap rent in laughlin on fri or sat. its misdemeanor for tresspassing, if it was a felony, they wouldnt let me go in vegas without taking me in when they checked my ID and told me i need to get that cleared up in lauglin.

    5. Tony, if you liked NJ so much, you could have planned to go get your ID and then returned when you were done. That is what people do, they go visit a place, then they return home.

  9. Here's the deal for you Tony. I am going to invest $20 in the next powerball drawing. After I pay Lightning 100 oz of golden American Eagle coins if I win the jackpot next on my list is to buy an RV twice as big as Danny Negraneau's and park it in any city you want (or cities) where you can live in it for free until January 1st 2017. Without any rent expense there is no excuse for you not to have a $20K roll again in six mos.

  11. A very brief online search turned up apartments 2-3 blocks from the downtown Las Vegas strip for $600/month for a studio. That's $150/week for a semi-permanent residence within walking distance of poker rooms where you aren't yet banned (I think). I doubt there are many other places where you'll find rent that cheap within walking distance of a casino let along 8-10 casinos.

The real solution though would be to get some kind of job to cover your expenses like rent and then work on building your roll in your off hours. Surely there is something you could do that would pay you $150-$250 a week like retrieving carts at the Walmarts or Target. But you seem determined to never have any other job aside from gambling, so I'm not sure why I bothered suggesting that.

    1. no one rents to u without credit except motels. none of the places downtown, especially the Troopers, but even Grumps, dont feel too safe to walk to. my poker hourly is more than twice what 100% of jobs would pay.

  12. Of course prices are higher its called inflation. If you go below 3k again you probably won't make it. Living in week to week places is super pricey. I remember when extended stay hotels were 500/month and that included utilities and internet and everything. Inflations a bitch

    1. this is why increasing the min wage a horrible idea. raises inflation substantially and does nothing to increase the wages of the self employed.

    2. Technically self employed don't earn wages. They can also try to increase their earnings by charging more, working more, or doing other things that can make more money.

Forget where your roll once was, it's a memory not even a thought or a meaningful statement anymore. Can't believe I'm the one to post this. Got it? Okay. Now go...

    1. Connect your phone to the laptop with the USB sync code, which usually is the charge cord. Search on google for instructions.

  15. never realized til it was too late the huge difference in the QUALITY of ur life with $8000-9000 and 15,000-20000. instead of being in this tiny room with a fridge way too small and no kitchen, i could be living in one of many places in the phoenix area for $300 weekly or less much nicer pictures on craigslist than where im at now. i could also afford the $1-3 NL games, and even the $2-3 NL games u must play if in talking stick. or i could have money to travel and live several other cities where its like $300 weekly or more too, sometimes monthly. so many options if i had like two times what i have now. theres a much bigger difference in the quality of ur lifestyle with $18k compared to $8k than with $200k compared to $50k
