Pokeroom managers need to learn how to take better care of their customers. Disperse with the annoying rules.a

Most all poker rooms in Vegas or reno play 9 handed, not 10 handed. This is due to most of the $1-2/$1-3 NL players greatly preferring it. much more room at the table, and people not kicking ur chair or brushing their leg against u constantly. i would prefer to have no one sit close by me period, and be in a 7 handed or less table. this way, i dont need as often either.

so why do all these rooms in st louie, just like shreveport, atlantic city and philadelphia, play with 10? u see this all over any area outside of NV or at least further east than NV and it sure is annoying. is probably why i started losing due to the black guy on my left, who kept bumping my leg. him and another black guy almost got into a fight. (he was challenged to go outside and talk with him). Far more blacks in this room than ameristar since its reachable without needing a vehicle.

and the way none of these rooms follow the examples of the peppermill wynn or the golden nugget on the button straddle annoying too. every room out this way makes the SB act first.

and the weather. its horrible. u cant trust the cabs not to shut down, maybe not in the main part of the city, but here in the suburbs u cant trust them not to. theres no reason the ameristar cant offer free rides to people in the hotels top of the hill. so tomorrow when my $67 plane leaves (but NOT to vegas) but i will be where the weather is much warmer than here. at least they have lyft. it wouldve sold out had i not went ahead and booked it, so i now have to use it. no point in flushing $58 down the toilet like i did with my Peoria train ticket. of course i still need to pay baggage fees.

So a guy who i suspected of being a dealer in the ameristar, he bets $15 on the flop who limped in EP, then called my $15 raise preflop. flop is A68 with 2 hearts. i have AQ with the queen of hearts. i make it $35, getting everyone else out, then he puts me allin (almost $100 more to me). hes in for more. i know he dont have AK. or AA. i put him on the ace hi flush draw, so i call. im right. he had AJ of hearts. knew he had a lower kicker. of course he rivers the flush. so i left broke to go play BJ.

i should've had a lot more cash in the bank than the $6000 i had on me, but i dont like my cash all being in 1 spot. i found a pretty empty shoe game 3-2 payouts. same rules as ameristar, but if u play 2 hands, u dont need to double ur bets. eventually after moving tables twice, i came across a good shoe with the running count of +7. started buying more, betting more, and im pretty sure they didnt know i was counting the cards, or they wouldnt wrote me out a buffet comp, got the host to give me 1 more nite free (plus his business card), and since id booked the room thru priceline for sun nite (meant it couldnt be comped off--$22 less originally is why i did it this way) the host offered me a free coupon for $100 bet. of course once i returned from the buffet to pick it up, i lost it right off. he realized id been martingaling bets, which is why he was so generous with comps, and flagged down a host hed seen walking close by. but when i returned from eating he was surprised i didnt wait to use the $100 free bet, once i lost smaller bets. but i used it right off cause i seen a running count of +5 late in this shoe as i sat. but i did recover over $300 over the next 3 shoes and the black guy dealing unfriendly cause he wasnt getting tipped dealt to me far better than the dealer who looked like claudia who cost me $4000. then i returned to poker, same damned table, worse seat, and lost once more. lots of people complimented me on my donkey cap. but i lost close to $4000. the final hand before i went to eat was 2 bets of $900 each.

at least this hotel offers the free shuttle to the airport. but it stops running at 8pm. then starts back up at 7am. so u sure cant book early morning flights.

  1. Once again you just blast off the teeth fixing money like it is nothing. You should go back to Shreveport where you had alot more stability and you could beat the game. All this running around the countryside isn't good for you.

  2. TBC,
Long time follower since the AVP days and even had the chance to meet you at PH and play some .50/1 NL at Bills Gambling Hall back in the day reading my first blog post in months. Please explain the following: "is probably why i started losing due to the black guy on my left, who kept bumping my leg." How does the ethnicity of someone sitting next to you have any impact on why you were losing?

    1. Tony is a child, u see, and children NEVER take responsibility for anything. He has no true friends, no possessions, no permanent home, no pet, no gf, no life. Let him throw his money away bec he is too stupid and lazy to do anything else. Gambling is all he can really do bec he is so mentally limited.

  3. I remember a guy less then 5 years ago, who was down to his last $700-$1200 for a year straight, waking up on a lawn having his suitcase full of his life's possessions being soaked by the morning sprinklers preaching about blackjack bankroll managment not betting more than 1/200th of his bankroll...

Now he is some bigshot who can afford to buyin to blackjack games for 5x+ the amount he used to have to his name and make $900 bets where bankroll managment apparently doesnt apply to him anymore...

  4. U see, of course, this $5000 loss in the last two or three days is all part of your Blog title plan of 3 blogs ago, which was all about your "PREPARATION TO SPEND THE HOLIDAYS WITH FRIENDS." I suppose you had to blow that much before you go visit your friends just to prove you could do it.

Certainly Pokerdogg understood all this with his reply to my comment about me not understanding why you would want to leave Shreveport when you were doing so well there. I think your actions rather than Pokerdogg's initial response may lead to him having second thoughts about this mystery.

What was the real reason why you decided to do a runner and skip town so quickly Tony?

    1. Tony was betting $900 a hand blackjack last week in Shreveport just like he did here. May be that is the real reason for leaving Shreveport.

  6. How many hours of poker will you have to play to make $4000?

  7. The poker room managers know their customers well here. Players do not want 9-handed play. Heck, when play gets down to 8-players, the players start freaking out about the table being too short. If the table gets down to 7 players, then people start racking up and leaving.

Also, the Golden Nugget button straddle rule sounds retarded. What about it do you like?

    1. i guess what im trying to say is the people in the BJ pit did the better job, ($100 free bet, picking up my room, food etc) u could tell they wanted me to have everything just the way i liked it. this being said, st louis isnt a bad area to play poker, but they need the $2-5 to go much more often. if it were summer, theres lots of places to live in an area which looks safe close to ameristar, especially if u owned a car. i just found out on 4.45 am tues these boats shut down completely for 1-2 hours?

sure theres some nits who like 10 handed, but the minority who complain are the most vocal. if what u say is true, why do, when people have a choice, they play in the 9 handed rooms are over vegas or reno? lots of rooms went from 10 to 9 to avoid losing business

rules which cause the small blind to nit it up bad for the game. rules should be designed to create action. when the utg acts first, the sb can often raise to try and steal now instead of fold, this will create action

    2. Shocking that the Pit boss would kowtow to a guy "martingaling" $900 hands of black jack. Just shocking . . .

    3. Sure the bosses in the BJ pit gave you a room and $100 bet...You gave them $4000 with the potential to give them more. In the poker room you took up a seat at the table and helped pay a small rake while complaining non-stop.

    4. He is so stupid that he tries to run away from HIMSELF but never gets away. What a fucking fool! He is hisown worst enemey and his want to get unstuck for even the smallest amts always causes him to run. YOU are to blame little boy - NOT the area, the town or the casino - YOU! Child.

    5. The small blind hand that you get dealt once a round is such a margin spot to play in the first place that the injustice of a straddle not working the way that you expect should end up being such a NON-ISSUE that you should forget about that perceived injustice and just concentrate on the other 8 or 9 hands being dealt in each round.

  8. Tony:

You should not be playing black jack. You know this; and yet you are not capable of resisting. So . . . here's my proposal:

Starting January 1st - why not spend a month tracking your results. It's really not hard. When you start a session, take a note on your phone of the date and your buy in; and when you leave, jot down how much you left with. At the end of the month, tally it up. Perhaps if you see that yo are losing a ton, maybe it will help you to stop playing.

Again, I'm not advocating that you play. But, I'm not naïve enough to think that you are willing or capable to follow advice. So, if you are going to play, why not go through this exercise?

    1. Hw will NEVER stop - for one he will never stop obssessing over money lost. The only way for him to quickly get it back is to play BJ or VBJ - playing poker takes too long for Tony to know if he is going to get his money back or not, u see. He will NEVER track BJ or VBJ bec he knows it will show him how much money he has burned on it. He is THE dumbest gambler - still has a woll that he uses for both gambling and life - truly a novice and a child.

  9. Tony just out of curiosity, what is the largest single bet you have ever had, and what game was it?

$900 a hand on blackjack is way over my limit. I think I would be physically sick if I bet that on a hand and lost.

    1. Yea but if the count is positive then you can't lose. Oh wait.
I mean if the count is positive and there isn't a black guy touching your leg then you can't lose.
