is it possible to break $30,000?

didnt realize how long id let this go once more without being updated, (and when im not losing big) or doing road trips with new casino reviews, theres less to write of.

Played another session with Grouchie in the redrock, even Vince showed up finally. my biggest win ever, and grouchies biggest ever loss. i won over $1180. most of it came from flopping 8888, not from him. even gave out $60 worth of tips. never did meet WEC, who is seems is still living.

if u take a massage at the table, and pay with chips, do u log out as winning $200, or as winning $230? i write it down as being up $200. but paying for these lowers the hourly. so maybe i win more per hour than my logs show.

its best to underestimate than overestimate the win for sure.

got moved into vinces condo by desert inn, he too will be living here. his old condo in summerlin will be strictly Jay and maybe his canadian girlfriend. the guy who took forever who wasnt paying rent in the other condo on desert inn finally moved out. spent lots of money buying food, new locks for doors, windows, curtains etc, and Vince is doing lots of work here installing carpet, etc. he quit his job today since him and his woman boss who dont like men werent working out, and he wants to do more work with harrahs, etc dealing more. he thinks im a great help to him financially.

won $2900 in the past 10 days on BJ in ellis isle on the VBJ due to the 10x points, which im sure theyll discontinue anyday if others played it this heavily. ran thru about $100,000 for $1000+ in free play. which is most of the winnings. seeing when and where it shuffles helps too.

now im close to $30,000 but just this morning lost $521 in the nugget. i start losing everytime ive got this close. back to $28,900. just cant break over $30. but i still feel insanely rich. got a lot more stored in the cashier nugget now too.

its good to have gotten the iphone back id lost on the bus. this was a big relief, now i still have my records and all my stored contacts. plus i paid $90 so my laptop nows good a battery which works. Ray did lots of good checking on the phone for me.

  2. Why wouldn't it be possible to break $30,000?

  3. Stop with the VBJ Tony. You can't beat it in the long run. You are just on the plus side of variance. Stick to the poker it is better for you financially and emotionally.

  4. Not sure why you feel rich. You're still homeless. You eat crap. You wear crap. You spend $0 on improving your health or lifestyle. Every time your net worth goes up you just use it as an excuse to wager more on -EV propositions.

If I was going to pay $200 for a massage, I would want a heck of a lot more than just the massage. Damn Tony, for $200, you should have at least got a kiss on the lips, or some other side benefit. Holy shit Tony, for US$200, you could get a weeks accommodation in Bali, and a full body massage every day, including a happy ending.

If you just stick to poker, I'm sure you can get over the $30K hurdle. Just be prepared to accept some losses along the way.

    1. i paid $30. shouldnt be too hard to see this from reading it well.

    2. Oops my bad, sorry Tony. I misread what you wrote and thought you had paid $200. I got confused with the $230 bit. I did not think you were allowed to remove chips from your stack while you were still playing.

    3. ive never seen a casino where u couldnt use chips to pay the waitress, the food server, or the masseuse

  7. Just a note: I had played a session at Red Rock not too long ago where someone was reading Tony's blog at the table, and it started a long discussion at the table as it happened another player had a lot of experience playing with Tony and several dealers and the floorman had a number of Tony stories to tell from when they worked at other Vegas properties.

    1. do u mean the ones working the redrock, or the numerous dealers and floormen who work elsewhere and prefer to play in the redrock?

    2. Tony, just as you gave Koala a hard time for not reading your post well.

  9. Tony, will you teach me how to play poker when I'm in Vegas with lightning in two weeks? I'm also hoping that AC will teach me about golf. If only PPP would be there to teach me about steak and fine wine...

    1. Some things can't be taught, sir.

    2. In lieu of assistance from PPP simply order the most expensive steak medium rare and the most expensive cab to go with it and you will be fine. BON Apetite!!!

    3. And tip a minimum of $20 for every hundred dollars shown on the bill.

    4. But I'm caught between ordering a filet or a New York Strip. A filet seems to be for someone who has no teeth, a feminine piece of meat; a NY Strip seems more of a manly steak that can be chewed and devoured. Well, that's what lightning told me. And as for American wine... ick. A nice Margaret River Cabernet always hits the spot.

    5. A two inch thick NY strip is truly a manly steak that is a fact.

    6. You think two inches is manly? OK, I guess. Oops.

"In the game at the nugget with $5000 rebuy"

Jesus wept Tony, what possible game could you be in at the Golden Nugget that necessitated you to REBUY for $5000.

Are you stark raving mad, or just so full of your own piss and importance that you have to brag how much money you are carrying on you by doing a massive buy in to a rinky dink poker game?

You can't protect yourself if someone tries to rob you, you could not fight your way out of a paper bag, yet you just have to flash to every person in the poker room how much you are carrying on you. Then you become shit scared of your own shadow going back to your room.

    Just unbelievable

  11. koala if you don't really know Jesus Christ, you're basically just hanging out in this world stealing oxygen that belongs to the Father, Son *JESUS, Holy Spirit!

    1. I thought God created oxygen for all living creatures that need it, false prophets included.

  12. John Doe or one of your aliases, since you know everything about Jesus, you should know that the quotation "Jesus wept" is taken from the King James Bible. It is an extract from the Gospel of John, Chapter 11, Verse 35.

Although there is no definitive knowledge of why John made this statement, one of the summations is that Jesus wept over the stupidity of the people of Jerusalem.

Based on that summation, and aligning it with the knowledge that Tony bought in for $5000 in a rinky dink game at the Golden Nugget, for whatever illogical reason, I think it is a most appropriate quotation to use in this instance.

If you had been an 11 year old boy like I was in a Catholic boarding school, and had the living crap beaten out of you on a regular basis by Christian Brothers because I dared to question their way of looking after children at that school, and their methods of trying to instill the Holy Faith into us, then you may have some understanding why I find it extremely hard to believe. So don't call me an oxygen thief until you know and understand all the facts.

    1. I wasn't calling you one, i was simply making a statement in general. This is the first blog i ever seen where some of the members want God to prove he exists to them... There are some seriously warped people out in this world. Not meaning you Koala.

    2. More and more negativity, unfortunately. Brother Doe, perhaps some prayerful reflection upon discernment might be helpful?

    3. I love the scripture Vincent my boy! I just wish i knew the character and substance of the feller throwin out that at me... hmmmm.

      Delete
    4. You see when you throw scripture at people instead of using it collectively speaking for all to understand the message of Christ. It sounds as though your taking ownership of it and using it for you own purpose. And if you are taking ownership of scripture Mr PPP would step in an want 40% to bang out a fair settlement agreement of what scripture you can rightfully own!

    5. Vincent how about spreading the word for Jesus and not to win an battle with a blogger?

    6. JD, what makes Koala an exception to your generalization?

    7. Brother Doe: This might sound harsh, but you appear to live in a fantasy world. You profess love of Jesus, yet you seem to be full of accusations instead of love. If it is a battle in which I am involved, it is for your spiritual life. I fear the messages you send are tainted by forces of evil sent from Sheol.

    8. Ellen DeGeneres sites scripture word for word also. She has outwitted herself following evil spirits. The Devil has taken her over, people refuse to see this as truth. It really is true! She has now become satin's Hollywood homosexual mascot!

    9. "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
      Matthew 7:1-5

Mr. Doe, I am fighting for your soul.

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

      Ephesians 6:11

  13. I saw Tony's tweet about the 5k on the table (see Koala's post above). Tony - what was the story there? Were you doing your usual martingale thing? Or was it one of those "Duke of Freemont" moments and you were just goofing around (i.e., putting a huge amount "in play" when effective stacks are really around $300.00)? What's the story, Tony?

Also, Strawberry/JohnDoe/et al: I am certainly one of those people who rely on "proof" to guide my beliefs. I would qualify as one of your warped oxygen thieves. In my experience, poker players are probably over represented by agnostics and atheists. I'm surprised this would be the first blog you've seen where that skepticism prevails.

  14. Oh Seattle Irish very interesting point! I have been around the internet this just happens to be an old friend of mines blog. That is the difference! If more people had convictions to know Jesus Christ we wouldn't have a world like this. Those who read and truly understand and FOLLOW his message know i am exactly right. Your seeing the book of revelations unfold as we speak. Some that know the truth and how real the bible is are probably so shocked others can't see it too. I am not the only one that sees this stuff. There is nothing wrong with a Christian poker player either. Its actually a nice touch to persons game....
