atlantic city NJ trip report

Well im finally making progress since leaving Detroit, but not nearly as quickly as i was in detroit, since Detroit offers better games. Sure NJ offers better games than PA, but PA might still be better because at least their $1-2 NL games have phone chargers, and theres not long bus trips out to absecon each way and back. instead, theres a nice hotel up the street, with a much better fridge, but at least this one isnt freezing my milk, and the wifi is working good. i dont care much for this microwave though. im worried it dont cook enough and ill get food poisining. its got an old fashioned timer on it where its hard to do partial minutes. so because i fear it wasnt cooked good enough and some steaks were still stuck together, i cooked it close to 3 extra minutes. (steak 6 pack). still paranoid its not heated enough, too bad i dont own a food thermometer. hope ray is correct about maybe its been cooked before they packaged it.

winning $250 TWICE on aces full (which held up 20 minutes for the hi hand, minus $20 tip) in Harrahs ac today helped, and so did the loose action 1 player kept making with multiple preflop raises 90% of the time. so i won over $700 in the game. some of it i need to use for a new laptop. for my screen on the top of the laptop, slants and wont sit properly, its broken off and theres mechanical things sticking out. i dont know how to properly describe it. except to say its falling apart, although other than this, it still works properly to use the net. but i sure do hate spending the money to replace it, but it should be done and quite soon. and no i dont feel at ease buying online craigslist or in a pawn shop, afraid of getting one which wont work right.

theres no walmart or best buy or target or Kmart or office depot convenient near me and everything here in the AC NJ area is big Uber expense, or lfyt. fares in NJ much higher, probably due to laws forbidding u from pumping ur own gas.

i kind of miss shreveport. steady housing, free buffet every day, and good games. but i think i won so much above normal id do much worse if i returned but i do think finding a dentist not too high would be much simpler there since i checked on one before. by the way for those who dont know 1 rotten tooth broke off and fell out close to 1 week ago, but it still needs a dentist, others need out, and theres pieces left under the gums. the one next to it looks hideous too.

im sure the Trop will cut off my free play before long, for im staying off the machines and my $150 in free play per week will not last long, they cut u off quick. plus i dont have nearly the room offers since the Taj shut down. i thought id get plenty of rooms from Harrahs, but truthfully, i think id rather have steady housing, such as vegas or toledo or shreveport. im getting too old and my suitcases worn out.

Borgata had over 8 stud games going. i got stuck close to $800 in $20-40 stud yesterday but recovered it with over $200 profit before going home. the nugget is closing at 4am every morning, even if the table is full of people. the showboat is reopened, but without a casino. Hard rock is thinking of buying the Taj.

  1. Get your teeth fixed man.The problems are not just cosmetic. Many people die from dental disease." Willis' story is not unique. In 2007, 12-year-old Deamonte Driver also died when a tooth infection spread to his brain. Be an adult and take care of your needs.

  4. Just go back to Shreveport. It is just too easy to make money there and the expenses aren't too bad. Your life would be easier if you could just stay in one place and be happy with it.

  6. It really is too bad that dental issues are so hard to prevent. But the beauty of being an American is that everyone is free to ignore their dental hygene if they so choose. Nobody can make you brush your teeth, floss your teeth or set foot upon a dental office against your will. 'Merica! 'MERICA!!! Microwave with an analog timer and a box with six frozen steaks? Hmmmm... does omahasteaks.com ship their filets in six packs? Maybe their NY Strips? Or, is it more likely the 0n-Cor Salisbury steaks? With an ancient microwave you prolly are dealing with a lower wattage oven so the 750 watt instructions will most likely apply. The key to using an old microwave is patience! And do not remove the plastic covering. Poke just a few small holes in in for venting but leave it in place until your food is ready. If at the time you expected to have cooked food and it is still frozen do you best to break up the pieces and spread any melted gravy around. Before cooking for another two minutes take the kitchen towel and fold it to just bigger than the box the steaks came in. COVER the tray that is holding the steaks and give the cooking time two more minutes. After that two minutes WAIT TWO more minutes. Then check the steaks. If they are not steaming stir the steaks and gravy again and then cover again with the towel and cook again for TWO MORE MINUTES. And wait two more minutes after that cooking cycle completes. The towel helps keep the steam inside the tray to help cook the steaks. Pretty simple Tony, unless your food has some level of steam showing it has very unlikely it has been properly cooked. But when you do have a nice steamy six pack of steaks ready for dinner pop open a nice box of cab and you are good to go! Bon Apetite!!!

    1. Sounds like them good ol' Steak Ums that had a pad of butter on each "steak" (do they still make them?)if they do, they are pre cooked. Sounds like some places could actually use these for there "Chicken Fried Steak"(gotta love the mystery meat aspect)I actually haven't seen these since the 70's but it does bring back memories. On Wonder bread with some salt & pepper then add a little A-1 to taste!
      As Lester said Bon Apetite!

    3. Holy crap those steaks have terrible nutritional value! 11 grams of fat per steak; how many patties are you eating at once? One of those patties makes up 29% of your daily salt intake per day!!!

    4. The guy can't chew. So any meat product he ingests is going to have to have huge fat content.

He also lives with constant inflammation/infection from his gums. Salt intake is way down on his list of problems.

  7. weird dream about PPP, just woke up. he was parachuting off a bridge, and somehow i got injured in some way. so the judge was wanting my recommomendations for sentencing as far as how much to fine him and how many days in jail. i couldnt decide, so my mom told me i should ask my dad. (who i dreamed was my son Mark). then im sitting in a room full of people, where we are deciding the sentence, and each one uses poker chips for the amount. i have $10 out there, see too many with too few chips and i say fuck it, hes rich attorny, im going to do $25, he can afford it.

i left the Trop early yesterday because my $500+ win decreased to $200 plus. 2 asians had just sat which i think ive seen before, and as we all know i dont like playing with asians in my table, theyre too hard to beat. much easier beating other races instead. asians outperform most whites. cities like detroit or pheonix with few asians, games are easy. so i made it $15, and when he calls me on the button i get a bad feeling. flop comes AA3 and we both check. turn comes 2 with 2 spades on the board, and ive got KT of spades. one of us bets, forget who. the bet is called. river is J of spades, putting the flush out. i feel any ace will pay me off, i bet $183, he puts me all in $100 more, with the aj for the boat so i left pissed.

    1. I don't understand why you are pissed. You wanted him to pay you off. Not only did he put $183 into the pot, he also ADDED an additional $100 to the pot so he did MORE than you wanted him to. And did he actually take your chips and put them into the pot or did you do it yourself? I thoughts players weren't allowed to touch other players' chips?

    3. Don't know what is the pot size on the river, but let's say $70. Why would you jam 2.5x pot on the river with a paired board, and get yourself pot committed and pay another $100. That is just so bad.

  9. From your twitter, Tony:

"no more $20-40 stud, lost over $1600, then over $400 on the gemtiles"

    A) WFT??? Loving 1600 on stud? Sheesh.

    B) $400 on gemtiles? WFT?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    1. These things happen when all you do is gamble and sleep. When you have no other interests and cant take even the smallest loss - this will alwas happen.

    2. Right - but isn't gemtiles one of those free play apps? I know most of them come with the option of "in game purchases", but plopping down $400.00 on a game MOST people play for free seems exceedingly "-EV", as they say in the poker world.

$400.00 would have gone a long way towards getting Tony's mouth in a stable state (ok...maybe not a very long ways...but it certainly would have paid for a teeth cleaning!) and it seems idiotic to have dumped it into a free play app!

    4. While AC has a great idea there is still something else that our Hero needs: https://img0.etsystatic.com/076/0/9859922/il_570xN.814901934_7vp5.jpg

For $23 Etsy has this bracelet that uses healing crystals such as lepidolite, black tourmaline, lapis lazuli and amethyst to resolve anxiety, mood disorder and stress issues.

    6. 1600 loss in a 20/40 stud game isn't that much. Whether he should play that bis a game with his BR, that is a separate issue.
