leave the table when u no longer feel like playing, regardless if u are up or down

I think sometime this week ill return to Toledo/Detroit to Ray's house to see the dentist. if i went to shreveport, Reno or Vegas, i would have no one to accompany me to the dentist, which is required if they give u IV sedation. the reason im concerned is although theres no pain, theres a pimple which developed on my gums in the area where the decayed tooth broke off, and im reading online what the cause of this is. Flights from BWI are over $100 more than flights out of PHL, but the amtrak to toledo is a very low $75-95. im tired of high priced hotel rooms. my 2 nights here near MD live cost me $184. my last 4 nights in Dover Downs, (due to the $29 special) only cost me $140 total. my nights in wilmington cost me like $80 per nite. my nights by Parx cost me like $75 per night. plus i spent $80 once on uber in the past 10 days, $89 once, $171 once, and $77 once. Ever since i left NJ, my expenses went up, but theres some nice casinos here if theyd ever have cheaper living options nearby.

finally won today too. ($200 buyin, in the $1-2 NL in MD live about 2am. eventually left about 6.30 this morning with $445). i had it up to $642 once, then caught myself doing 2 dumb things. so i figured i better get out of there before i self destructed. i did find $20 in free play id heard of once in an email, but no room offers. so i ran it thru, cashing out $24. i'm still out over $600 for the month of May in POKER, meaning for just poker, it will be my worst month in the last couple years. no month last year was at a loss except for the $447 in june. and dont forget last aprils $9000 win.

i tried to steal a pot with 69 of clubs on a flop of 478 with 2 spades and 1 club. it didnt work. turn was another 4 so now i picked up a flush draw to go with the straight draw, which made me pay $50 more to see the river. then i missed totally. he showed 79, thinking he bluffed, but he didnt. river was A of spade, completing a possible flush, which he didnt have. he was definitely the wrong player to check raise to $65 from $10 on the flop. then i let the guy on my immediate right, (who i suspected of knowing who i was) bluff reraise his straddle to $60 preflop with 72 offsuit. flop comes 10 7 8 and i folded my 55. he did have me beat, but i shouldve shoved allin preflop over the $60. he was definitely deep enough to fold for over $400 more.

if i were to have stayed in the dover area, id be getting $168 next fri for hours earned. eventually theyll send a mailer to rays address, with $300 slot play. i'm glad hes got a car again, with excellent gas mileage he says. plus he says hes won over $900 in the past 2 weeks.

i wish something could be done regarding the collusion that goes on in smaller poker rooms, which the staff obviously dont care about since the colluders usually tip big off their ill gotten gains so they will be permitted to continue. i seen 2 guys checking it down, once with 9922 on the board, theyre last to act, with a nine in their hand, and simply check because theyre opponent is a woman whose a reg too. then these other guys claim they always check it down, asain guy with the rooms most hours reg, he has top set, and his opponent in seat 10 has the nut straight to his set of 10s . of course, against me they take my money. poker shouldnt be no friends. every man out for blood, no matter who its against.

  1. Why don't you quit BSing about seeing a dentist? The truth is, you won't spend the money, especially now.

You are apparently unable to live with any degree of success. You've been wasting what little you have on travel and housing in your frantic travels. Expect little sympathy from anyone when you finally hit the skids.

  2. I will accompany you to the dentist if you come to Vegas. But you have to make the appointment and pay for it. Finally the title of your blog is good advice. Not that you've ever taken it, but it might be a good time to start? I think about all the money you could have avoided setting on fire if ONLY YOU DID THIS.

    1. Alysia, back in aug/Sept 2014 I agreed to take Tony to the dentist and look after him while he got his teeth fixed. His bank roll was about the same as it is now. All he had to do was organize the dentist appointment, and check into the Circus Circus hotel, where at the time he was getting cheap or free nights, and I agreed to take him to the dentist and make sure he got back to his room OK. I even checked into Circus Circus for about 5 nights to make sure Tony was OK. We had discussed this, and set this up months before I arrived in Las Vegas. I kept reminding him over and over(as can be seen from his blog for just before that time period,) to book his room and make the dentist appointment.

When I arrived in Las Vegas he had not done anything about it, nor booked accommodation at Circus Circus. He followed through on nothing. I sacrificed a week of my vacation, even checking into a cheap crappy hotel to look after him and nothing happened.

So that was almost 3 years ago. nothing has changed,
except that since he ignored all our warning, now his teeth are rotten, falling out and breaking apart, he is developing sores in his mouth and is well on his way to contacting a fatal infection.

I hope he is back in Las Vegas in July when I get there, as I would like to see him one more time. I doubt that he will survive long enough for me to see him the next time I come to Las Vegas after this year.

Looking forward to enjoying dinner with you and Lightning and whoever else, at that Downtown steakhouse. Don't forget we owe Lightning a couple of drinks, from our night at the Circus Circus Steak House, back when I was stuck there trying to help Tony.

    2. Shortly after this in reno with Cooldave I paid $1100 to the oral surgeon who fixed 2 teeth. This time it's 3 different teeth

    3. Stop doing this piecemeal like a chump. Get all the remaining teeth pulled. You don't take care of them. You don't really need them. A full mouth extraction is going to be much cheaper in the long run. You can stop worrying about the dentist for the rest of your life. Your health will improve tremendously as well. Get it done while you have the cash.

    4. Tony, have you been taking care of your teeth since you had those two teeth pulled? Have you been flossing and getting them cleaned on a regular basis? It's not a case of the dentist fixes them and you don't need to think about them until other teeth hurt. Dental care is ONGOING.

  3. Tony that's an abcess and it's eating your gum. You have to get on this

    1. Yup - exactly - an abcess - and if that thing breaks you are dead! No joke it will infect your mouth and could kill you.
Abcesses do not go away without dental treatment - you have no choice at this point bec you did nothing about it for so long. You will need money for antibiotics as well - good luck with all of that.

    2. Tom is absolutely right...when are you next in Vegas? If you want to go while Koala is here, we can do that.

    3. I wasn't planning on going to Vegas this summer. But, if I can be apart of taking tony to the dentist during my vacation, I may change plans.

    4. I'm coming to Vegas in June and was going to play a couple of WSOP events, but I can still come, and cancel them if I can help. Please let us know, ok?

    5. Should I go ahead and rent a minivan and turn it into an outing? Who else wants to go?

    6. If PPP commits to being part of our Hero's dental "tiger team" I think a mildly stretched Escalade would be the way to go.

    7. To clarify - by "be a part . . ." a mean, I want to conduct the procedure. If this is going to be a problem, please let me know now before I make travel plans.

  4. Tony,

I hope you soon come to see my point that you absolutely need to move up in stakes. If you are making around 15/hr still, which is a big if considering that the casino probably takes 20% more rake than when you were able to win that, then you are barely treading water with your expenses.

Price inflation as measured by the BLS is at the highest level since the 90s. All the money printing the fed has done in the last decade still has a long time to flow into the prices of necessities like food and rent. You do understand that if you were playing $1-2NL 15 years ago, then you are currently playing a game that is half as big, don't you?

Your last post you said you wanted "people who genuinely wish to see me win and improve and play my best-not the kind who wish to take my money"

    so which is it?

    1. i mean when playing poker, they should wish to win everyones money equally. and to do whatever is in their best interests. so many people, they try to make themselves lose on purpose just so i lose too, instead of doing what is in their best interest in the long run and gives them the best results. those people are being assholes. many of my opponents, instead of trying to win money from everyone seem to have a vindictive vendetta against me, not caring how much they lose in the process, as long as they stop me from winning

no different than saying i'm willing to kill both my mom and my sister as long as ur mom dies too.

  8. OK Tony, once again the ball is in your court. You claim you need to be in a place where people can help you get too and from the dentist. Alysia has offered to help you.
PPP may even change his vacation time to help you. I will be in Las Vegas from July 11 for one month. I will help you. Lightning will be in town for a week from July 17, I am sure he would offer to help. Between all of us, we can get you to a dentist and back at some point over the next two to three months.

YOU have to get your ass back to Las Vegas asap, probably make a prelim. dentist appointment to see what needs to be done, with follow up appointments for treatment. If you are really serious about this, don't wait till July, you won't get an appointment to be treated when we are in town. YOU NEED TO START ORGANIZING THIS NOW.

The choice is yours. Take care of yourself now, or the next time we are together may be to attend your funeral.

    1. this needs taken care of long before then. i still dont know which dentists both offer IV sedation and do it right in their office without needing to send u to the oral surgeon. some, like the one i thought about using in shreveport, can get u in for emergencies within the week. u will have plenty of free time, but AC wont. thats why i need others to set up the appointment cause i dont know when theyre free. ray had set me up one in toledo, i just left the day before.

    2. Or you could sack up and get it done with good old novocaine like a normal person.

    3. The guy does not need a ride to and from the dentist. There's Uber. He also doesn't need IV sedation. It's just an excuse to be lazy.

      Delete
    4. Ray set up an appointment for you and you left? How important are your teeth to you anyway?

      Delete
  9. Ray set up an appointment and you left without going? Haven't I heard this story about you before with medical appointments that you did not attend? For crying out loud Tony, the world is not here waiting for you to decide if you will or won't keep medical appointments.

    1. Sadly, our Hero setting appointments with various healthcare professionals raises reader's expectations that a positive outcome will be the result. More sadly, blowing off these appointments is a power-play of sorts. Tony thumbs his nose at some one percenter and sez screw you without any repercussions. While in the instant that might "feel good" one-upping your superior in the American caste system, the feeling is very, very short-lived.

    2. If Ray had paid for it, he would have gone. This is a combination of cheapness and laziness. Schedule the appt. at a time convenient for him and pay for it and he'll go.
