life in Houston part one and life in Miami part one

well its been quite a while since i updated the blog. ive lost interest in it because it always gets me into trouble, and makes it harder to make money since i dont get paid for this blog. Plus, a lot of the readers i liked the most no longer read it. Many of them were democrats who got fed up with my beliefs. no one reads blogs anymore. Lightning and Rob Vegas Poker will remember the days people were getting offered up to $400 for advertisers to write things promoting their business on the blogs.

I still think it would be smarter to get a place for a month instead of by the week on Priceline, but i always worry my low reviews on airbnb will make it harder to get someone to agree to accept my reservation since its often mentioned i keep the place a little messy. But of course the last thing u want is to be in a hotel when u sleep during the day, u damn sure dont want housekeeping waking u up knocking on the door.

what the hell is going on with XRP still being only about $3? its getting its ETFs approved in october and a couple are going now but its still not moving up enough. by the end of the year there are an enormous amount of models expecting it to be at least $7-20 somewhere, and in 5 years 1000-10000 a coin.

im certainly saving a lot of money with Ray here. the costs of motels and food is far less than it would otherwise be. But i constantly worry about Ray losing his bankroll, although for the time being hes still doing much better than me in PLO. all my wins recently have been in NL, ive had several times ive turned $100 into over $500 in 1-3 NL.

----------------2 months later------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i am in the miami area, just got through paying for a month. all of the above is old news on a never finished blog, and im a lot poorer now than i was then with only a little over 51k and Ray too is much poorer.

i'll tell u how i won a pot in Magic city yesterday. it was my first time playing there in many years and its about the only place i can play PLO in where im not immediate recognized as a nit by sitting down with my measly $200. in Miami, most of the players in all 3 poker rooms no habla Ingles. same way if u try and ask the staff anything. and they spell Tony as Tonni when u go to sign the waitlist.

the $4 taken on $10, 2 for the rake and $2 or the jackpot, will kill u in the $1-2 NL games or smaller at quite a few rooms, but not quite all rooms thank God. but the rake here is really horrible all over this whole area all the way up to Pompano Beach.

but if u stick to only playing PLO everywhere u wont notice the rake since u arent playing any pots of $10. and im surprised how many players seem to know me from somewhere but not here at magic city. i made it $40 preflop (blinds are $1-2-10) and got like 6 callers, so that tells u its loose. flop comes 10 3 4 all in diamonds and ive got A5 diamonds A6 spades in my hand.

i bet pot, guy check raises me, another guy calls and we all get it in and go twice and like most places they take more if u run it twice. i hate this because it discourages people from running it twice. i had to offer to pay the rake for him to get a guy to go twice the other day at a different place. Turn card is an ace, so now i dont have to worry about losing with my nut flush if the board pairs. turns out the other 2 players had the king high flush (the check raisor) and the caller had the jack hi flush along with 2 pair on the flop.

But that just goes to show u how loose the action is.

about the only poker win ive had. ive had a few live blackjack wins at the seminole, but also a loss of 11-13k online where all my bitcoin disappeared again. its why the roll is low. that and giving Ray money. the games in Tampa were awful nitty games, but winning here is easier. had a few other wins since leaving Tampa and Jacksonville. the worst loss was the huge live blackjack loss in Biloxi where the Palace casino threw me out for counting cards even when i was stuck $811 at the time and then i went to Treasure island and blew over 1800 more.

ill be glad when the shutdown ends so xrp can finally start moving up. its certainly much less than $3 now.

lets talk about different poker clubs in Houston

Legends--about the only place with a game going when u wake up about 7am, but usually the only game going then is $1-3 PLO and it gets expensive to see a flop, with all the short stacks trying to get it all in and the asian guys raising it back and forth with the bigger stacks. there are other poker clubs in Houston where its a little easier to see a flop for under $25 without having to always be allin.

But the manager (not the owner) is at least an honest lady who does her best to make her customers happy. when a guy screwed me on Zelle and sent me money that was held up as pending (and of course never received) she had vouched for him, and when he kept putting me off about paying me and never showing up when he said he would, she finally gave me $200 in chips out of her pocket. i never realized it was possible to get screwed on zelle, but ive never before seen a payment be listed as pending instead of sent instantly.

speaking of being screwed out of money, i dont think i ever told u a story about a big time AP on twitter whose got several people working for him that he collects their free play and various other stuff. i met one of his representatives in Resort world once and gave him a couple of players cards. this guy promised me he could get me unbanned at more than 1 casino or chain im banned at, and i paid him $2500 or so for a few different places and then he disappeared out of sight and i never got unbanned or heard from him again.

he said he had friends way up in security at these places and then one place he claimed he was best friends with one of the vice presidents.

also i hate seeing women in baseball caps and i dont want to tip them. these are especially inappropriate for women to be wearing so soon after Charlie Kirks murder because of what a baseball cap symbolizes about the gay agenda when a woman wears it. and yet u see them all the time. and also Legends still has a cleaning woman at times in the mens bathroom while men are using it, just like the Lucky Js next door.

and theres a lot of little bitches working in Houston still wearing masks too. i can think of at least 10. no ones had covid in the US in many years so they must just do it to show their hatred of Trump. unless people who took the vax will now be getting covid for life off and on because they ruined their immune system.

theres is also rooms far out with little business only 1 table going, which has a friendly asian owner working at night, but the massage girl rips u off at $2 a minute when everywhere else nearby is $1.50 a minute. and the dealers sure werent friendly. and in fact one guy put his hands in his pockets pulled them back out and showed a winning hand. and that should be a dead hand. it was actually a sleeve on his jacket.

and then bill potts in dallas was texting me about a new cheating scam going around up in dallas. he says he lost 21k playing heads up because people were knowing his hole cards and using a phone camera to see them as the dealer dealt.

I'm actually getting my hotel here for an extremely low rate on Priceline, less than i was paying the last few years. i think its because the locks dont work well on the outside of the building and the neighborhood its in, but i paid about 200 a week more a few years ago. even much worse places a couple miles away with bugs are more than here. the lock on the door works good though inside the building. but a lot of the dishes this chain usually has are missing here. its not the best one ive stayed in.

Some of the places i used to play at get very little business anymore, primarily because one of the owners is a bit of a dick and threatens to ban people for hitting and running.

games are the loosiest and easiest at 101 Katy. ray had most of his winners there and i found a couple loose games there at the right times of the day later on.

i am no longer in Houston, but i had a weird dream last night. i dreamed the Republican national committee used their official bus to shoot up a philadelphia airport that was owned by muslims and they live streamed it on facebook and the pope died during the attack.

guest post by Bill Potts

Hello all. This is your boy Bill Potts. I was in Dallas with TBC but he's run off to God-knows-where. Possibly San Antonio. He's tilting hard and needs to find a new place where he can win. Well I was just in Houston so here's my case for why Houston is where the notorious TBC should go next.

There are two clubs in Houston worth playing at: TCH Houston and Champions. Most of the other clubs have gone to pot rake they call a "promo drop" so they can take way more without people noticing. JokerStars seemed to have the worst reputation with allegations of cheating, but they have Topless Tuesdays with paid strippers so maybe TBC would want to stop in.

Like in Dallas and Austin, TCH Houston has become the gold standard for the city in how a Texas poker room should be run. TBC could pay the $13/hr time from his same account in Dallas if he built up any balance using promos. Indeed, during the month of August, TCH Houston is offering the promo $200 buys you $250 added to your account balance.

The poker culture in Houston is a bit different than Dallas. The standard and really only stake of NLHE is $1-$3 (which is played with one hand of PLO per orbit and double board PLO bomb pot every 30 minutes). And instead of starting a list for a bigger game when players want to play bigger, they just all start going crazier on their tiny 1-3, opening to $20 and getting 6 callers, 3betting often, etc, and if you don't go along with the action, you are shunned. This is perfect for TBC who doesn't care about the social pressure at all and only ever likes playing the smallest stakes anyway.

So TCH is the best room for our hero when he realizes Houston is where he belongs? Well not so fast. The nearby Champions Club is the other room in Houston with a different and interesting business model.

Champions is less of a poker club and more of a hotel resort located next to Chinatown. From the outside it looks a bit like a prison complete with a security checkpoint to get in the door, but on the inside, it is a cozy restaurant/bar/lounge area a short walk down from your hotel room and 20 poker tables just in case.

There is a promo in this room that is truly unbelievable value for TBC. The timerake is only $12/hr and in August they are discounting that to 10. The action may be a bit less than at TCH but still very good. They do allow an incorrect button straddle, but TBC could literally live out of this place. No Ubers, next to no rent. The promo: If you get 4 hours in a day, your room is discounted. If you get 8, your room is free.

So what's the catch? The game always breaks before you can get the hours? Not if they can help it. In the morning to get the game going, they run a promo for 3 hours where the house gives away around $60/hr to usually a single table. The house does everything in their power to keep the games going. If they can start a second game, the floor will sit down to play in it to prevent it from breaking and recombining. There is no table breaking culture. In fact, dealers are encouraged to keep the action going to prevent the game going down. The house even makes quiet deals with regs to give up their seat to a new player so everyone can help maintain the games.

The real catch would probably be that if TBC went hard for the value of this promo, they would simply end it. But maybe he'd get a good month out of them, and Houston rent elsewhere is cheap. When I stayed at Champions to play the private $10-$25 game that goes weekly there, the manager made it clear he valued my business and went out of his way to comp a future room for me. I think TBC would enjoy the small safe classy room atmosphere where he is known by name and his business is sought after.

---------------------------------------------------------------end of guest post

i swear i will update the blog before too long and talk about my trip to dallas with Ray and now that we have left Dallas and are in Austin, for a week, possibly heading to san antonio or Houston. at least i finally won a little bit in my first 24 hours here. but less than Ray did

i actually think Bill Potts did a great job with the guest blog post, u should encourage him in the comments. that being said, there are far better rooms in Houston than Champions, such as 101 Katy.

some old stories about me years ago and a little news of my latest road trip

when i was ages 18-24 and was living on my own away from my mother, i had a very weird life. and i did many things that couldve gotten me in serious trouble to where id no longer be with u today. All the times i tried to travel by hitch hiking and the weird people that picked me up. and then the time i bought an inner tube, and tried to use it to float down the Arkansas river to another city. the time i escaped the Topeka state mental health center by stealing a van from a funeral home and driving it 250 miles to Greensburg. and got caught by the police because i could never learn to drive because i couldnt turn corners. (was trying to maneuver it up to a gas station). so when i got out, it started rolling down the hill.

as u know thats where i met my sons mother and why he ended up with autism too, although this was a different mental health center in Toledo Ohio. see me and Ray used to play poker at all the monte carlo festivals at the catholic churches there. Knights of Columbus and the american legions. she was much worse off than i was, but for a year or 2 way back then when i made my living homeless panhandling and was learning how to play poker, i used to visit her daily for 2 hours or so as a visitor.

im lucky i didnt end up in jail for life. or get killed when committing burglaries in KS out in the country and thank God people werent home (but this was before i was age 18). not everyone who breaks into your place or your church (where i found money) is out to harm enyone, some of us are scared to death to run into anyone and would run instead of fight.

On our way to Dallas from Chicago and Grand Island Nebraska (and a very brief visit of sick call mc gee and his tiny poker club in omaha) we are lucky our car with 331 thousand miles still hasnt quit running yet. we stopped in to see my mother and my son and i took him out to a miniature golf course. my mother is 83 and is in such poor health she soon wont be able to see, so Ray and I mowed her yard and got rid of the weeds.

i never expected he would drive me near this much without needing to rent a car, but i convinced him theres no way in hell we can pay 400-500 a week to rent a car, and in 2 months that saves enough to buy a used car.

i wish there was someone with a car we could buy, he prefers ones with honda engines because he says they last longer.

there is decent blackjack at a few places in Nebraska and Iowa but choctaw removed the good VBJ i talked about on the blog, and i shouldnt have told anyone about it. that must of caused hustlers to play it. Bill Potts saw a few.

and Windcreek has a great poker room outside Chicago although the games are much tighter there than in Dallas or Tulsi though i have been seeing the games here deterioriate recently players are getting quite a bit tighter than a year ago in texas.

windcreek is good because of all the free promotional money rebates they give out everyday for slot and blackjack players and all games are 3-2 and stand on all 17s. i doubt they ban card counters but i dont play high enough to know. i didnt win so im no problem.

if i could play live BJ somewhere daily it would help to keep me from playing so much online blackjack. my roll is down to only 69k after another 5000 loss today. thats why i took the rest of my bitcoin and turned it into xrp tonight.

about flying to las vegas and how to play PLO correctly

has anyone tried to fly since May 7th without a real ID? i remember Kristi Noem saying they werent refusing anyone the right to fly but just giving them a lot of extra security. i wonder does that still apply or was that only at the start? i am too afraid to try it, i worry theyd ask the wrong questions and since i dont have an address id either have my ID seized or be held til i could provide proof of citizenship. i really need an immigration lawyer to straighten this out so i can get a passport and it should probably be done before my mother dies or how would i prove she lived in the US most of her life except her brief time in canada?

she is already way too old and too poor of eyesight to find her birth and marriage documents anymore. ever since either Vince or Ray lost them, she is no longer able to travel from home to make copies.

Luckily the TSA is no longer involved in any way with amtrak and there are plenty of trains dallas to chicago, which is turn work for Chicago to vegas, chicago to reno, chicago to florida, etc.

and i finally got all my laundry washed for the first time in over 3 weeks. i was relieved to discover the dryer work good and u dont have to put them through multiple times.

i would like to discuss a certain hand so u can see why ive done so well at PLO in the Dallas area. this hand history will let u see how the others at the table are playing most hands and the huge variance in the game which is why u are a fool if u dont always run it twice.

i was in the small blind, and a loose player who doesnt like me was in the BB. i forgot who raised it to $15, but there were multiple callers. i had QTQ8 double suited. i called because this hand has plus ev equity multiway. the BB raised it to $75 because hes a horrible player and doesnt like limped pots. (turns out at showdown his hand was 225J) multiple limpers called the raise since theyd limped, and when it got to me, i said pot (which was somewhat over 500) the original raiser called, and another guy shoved for $790 and a short stack or two also called.

we all agreed to run it twice and the top board was something like K79K5 and the bottom board was AAA23.

i figured at least someone would have an ace, and someone would have a king, so i wasnt expecting anything. but i won a $2100 pot or more which put me about $1000 up and i had been stuck.

the key was i raised had i only called $75 the pot wouldve been much smaller, it wouldnt been ran twice and i wouldve folded before the river if not on the flop. And the second key was i limped reraised i didnt raise it when it was still just $15

a bunch of dreams and how weird is it my bankroll is so high

i have never understood why i keep winning so much now when i made almost nothing all of the 1990s and 2000s and 2010s. why wasnt poker easier back then when NL hadnt been around as long as wasnt nearly as popular? (to be honest the early part of that time i was playing nothing but fixed limit stud or high low). and by fixed limit that includes spread limit 1-5 and 2-10.

i can only imagine how my entire life wouldve been different had i had a 70k bankroll to work with 30 years ago, or even a 40k roll. i can also only imagine how different my life wouldve been had i not gotten banned almost everywhere long before i was age 30 and wouldve been able to play whereever. any attorneys or social workers reading this blog? id gladly pay them thousands of dollars if they could assist in how to go about getting 20 plus year old bans removed. no casino should expect someone to be the same way in their late 50s as they were in their early 20s.

i had this dream in which Teka the dealer was filling up a huge bathtub that turned into a monster size swimming pool because i looked at the cards she dealt me and i had 4444. and its 8 feet deep and im wondering if i can stand in it and then im walking thru circus circus casino looking for a $1 blackjack table. and i go down a long hallway tunnel to play in a poker game with donald trumps kids and a few cartoon characters uncle scrooge mc ducks kids and richie rich. and i cant find the game and i end up with security telling me theyll show me where it is.

yeah i really dont know why im having so many wins of around 1000 in the 1-2 PLO. the only thing im really doing different is martingaling the buyins somewhat and not straddling under the gun, but im not the only one not straddling. i do admit ive been lucky on some hands. such as when there was a raise and a reraise preflop and id already limped with 4547 double suited. i was tired of not having good cards for hours and being down over 500. so i repotted it for 985 preflop. and won a 3 way pot or at least half of one and there was a side pot but i dont remember who was in it. i won with a straight on 1 board and trip 444 on the other board, and it was not a bomb pot.

does anyone think that was a bad play? i dont think so they were thinking i dont gamble, but simply because i wont gamble in stupid ways (straddling) dont mean i wont gamble. putting over 10k at risk on blackjack is gambling, no one can ever say i wont gamble.

its weird though how for over 20 yrs i had almost no money and couldnt break out of the low bankrolls. a lot of that probably goes back to when i used to like women and give them money to hang out and wasted so much on Britni and Lorna. and when i wasnt living in texas i used to waste so much money on video poker machines that were not anywhere near 100 percent simply because i liked games with lower paytables i could martingale like triple spin poker.

i remember martingaling even money 1 cent video machines that offered the sucker form of blackjack in vegas grocery stores.

waking up this late after midnite is hurting my game because i end up playing when there is only 1 plo game still going with all of the late night winners after all the losers are broke. its like 145 am.

in the dream i just had, i was looking for room 14 in an old hotel because i was told that was where the poker game was and was where i could get some sleep. i found the game, started winning, and went to rebuy another $21, and a guy id just busted came back into the room holding a gun at me. his girlfriend and his brother was in the next room and the only reason i wasnt shot yet was his brother was defending me and had a gun pointed at his girlfriend. the brother was the guy Borat who i play PLO with at Harry Hines.

i disappeared into the room next to me, and i was hiding on top of a table while they were looking for me underneath the table and there were robots coming towards the table with packages they were setting on the table to find me. and i saw a security guy on the floor above who worked for the shooter but he didnt see me. i was trying to figure out how to get out of there.

then im in another room and im seeing all these letters from my mom to his kids with money in them telling his daughter its reimbursement for my Aunt Martha being in prison (she never was). but her family and my mom never got along. they cut me out of their life due to their hatred of my mom. they resented that my mom was my grandmas favorite which is true. and i know i was about to get found and shot any moment by the man in charge of the house, so im writing the words Jesus loves u and will save u so the kids will see and find the message.

and then i see a back way  out of the house and im running and flying over a bunch of roofs and i see no one after me but a bunch of flowers chasing me on the ground and im high up and then i woke up

what shouldnt be allowed in dallas

i remember years ago when Amtrak used to be controlled by TSA, but ive been researching and it seems like the new REAL ID isnt needed for Amtrak trips. (years ago i remember reading that it would also be enforced on Amtrak). but that thankfully doesnt seem to be the case this time. so when i lose my right to fly on May 7th, ill still be able to get to places far away, such as florida (dallas chicago chicago florida) or Reno NV, (dallas chicago chicago reno). so losing my right to fly wont be quite as bad as i originally thought. nothing is more miserable than spending 2 days on a bus with the worst possible classes of people demanding to sit in the seat next to u. a train if u dont mind paying 6 times the cost of riding coach, u can get a private room where u can put your luggage beside u instead of where everyone else puts theirs and lock the door while u sleep. a great option if u are carrying a ton of cash across the country.

so i guess instead of flying out of here before my place ends on May 8th that i paid $3400 for, i might as well stay here and use it up since im winning so much in PLO here. At least ive discovered where in Florida there is just as much PLO as dallas. im back above my high water mark of 71k in Tulsa.

the bad news is i didnt recover it all back from playing poker. Since the day i lost about 10k in bitcoin, ive recovered about 6 or 7k in bitcoin, and ive got over 17k in bitcoin and or xrp total. so that means im due for a big loss again soon.

but still most days i win over 500 at PLO, so ive still won plenty at PLO.

im getting a little tired of Dallas because the longer i play poker in the same place the harder it becomes to win. i do my best when on the move and no one knows how i play. and Florida u can never run out of card rooms there is more in florida than in nevada. im also getting a little tired of having to listen to rap music when i play. (although i admit its only about 25% of the time). if i could find headphones that work, i could drown it out playing other music. but u need the expensive kind to be able to hear.

also i find it really annoying that a lot of the people pay for time per hour ($13) with a credit card. when i played in Reno, i couldnt use a CC (if id had one) each time $6 comes out of the pot and keep the $6 in chips. so its annoying they let people pay their "rake" this way. People do it for 1 reason and 1 reason only. (they have no ethics and dont intend to pay their credit back). and the credit card companies get ripped off and never paid, raising the price of credit for everyone else. so yes i find it annoying. i should go complain at the city council meeting and try to get it stopped but im lazy and i wont. i just dont see why its legal. but its why all the other players love paying time instead of a rake so much. they cant use a cc when they pay a normal rake in casinos.

it is really nice playing in a room that does not allow button straddles though. its extremely rare for a poker room not to push the button straddle on their customers. and i think them being banned has a lot to do with my high win rate here.

also i was surprised how many players at my table were using the left pocket bankroll manager app for recording wins and losses that i cant use because its for iphones only.

i will grant u that some of my PLO wins came from sheer luck. one day i did a $1084 flip for my entire stack as the game was breaking and won, getting me close to even for the night. one day 7 of us at the table did a $500 flip and i split a $3500 pot. we both made a full boat with 10 3. one day i had it all in on the flop after a big raise preflop with a naked unsuited aa that i didnt want to raise preflop but another guy did and i was trying to get it heads up. and then on a flop of 347 i shoved into a guy holding the nut straight. turn comes 9 river comes 10, and i won with my AAJ8 all unsuited. a third player was in also and i turned the last 400 rebuy id just made into over 1200.

bankroll updates and Tulsa news

i dont understand why i was so broke for the first 50+ years of my life. (as good as my poker skills are, I mean) i went many many years with a bankroll of less than $10,000, and sometimes less than half that. and i shouldve had a bankroll of over $100k by the time i was 30. (of course i still dont now, but if i wouldve, id have a bank of over 1 million now.)

the highest i got it up to was 71,700 (recently in Tulsa right before i left town). but then it started to disappear rapidly. Uber fare back to Choctaw, a hotel charging me for a microwave door that wasnt my fault, a loss of a few hundred in 10-20 big 0 fixed limit right before i left, and worst of all i got settled in my room at Choctaw, played PLO and won, and then got a good sleep.

woke up and found the other half of the casino all shut down, and the machine i wanted to play wasnt turned back on for about 16 hours. So i ended up playing the VBJ on the other side in the sky tower with not as good of odds. lost about $2000, then went to my room and lost the remaining 9k online for a loss of over $10,000.

there went all my bitcoin, and had i not bought $5000 in bitcoin off someone before leaving Tulsa, i wouldnt have had that much bitcoin to lose in 1 day. At the time i thought i might fly out of Tulsa and i wanted to have less than 10k in cash on me in case i left by plane instead of via Uber.

and worst of all, once the right VBJ machine was up and running i ended up losing about $1400 on it too. thats why i decided to return to Dallas. besides i was sick of not having my own place with a kitchen, and washer and dryer.

so now my rent is paid up til May 8th and who knows what ill do then. but it cost me $3400.. so yeah ive got about 56k left of almost 72k.

Tulsa had good games, but its at the River Spirit, not the Hard Rock. but u have to wait til 6pm for it to go, and some days its 1-2 PLO and other days its round of each. sometimes they have 2-5 PLO or round of each, the only difference being the min then is 200 instead of 100 and no cap on the buyin instead of match the stack. during the day except for weekends which include 10-20 hilow with 5 cards, its just 1-2 nl with 300 cap. if u want to buyin a lot more, u have to wait for the 6pm game of the day.

and the other room at hardrock gets no business except for during tourneys. otherwise its just 1-2 tables of NL. but the people who come for tournaments during series time dont know this since they never leave the hardrock.

i remember when the hardrock wasnt called the hardrock and it was way outside of town. now its all built up and industrialized with many stores and its close enough and safe enough to walk to nice hotels. but i stayed nearer to river spirit by 73rd street.

Uber was really expensive there and Lyft was usually 10 dollars less very late at night. on the way to the casino the fare was like 15-20 and on the way home was like 25-40

every time i get my bankroll up to a new high, something soon happens to start dropping it back down. but at least its still close to the OLD high of 57k at the Palms on my 55th birthday. so it doesnt really feel like its fallen back down. a large part of my life (almost 90% or more of it) my bankroll was never over 50k but about half that or less.

but it is far easier to win than it used to be. no wonder marc goone wants to interview me and put me on his show. 100 an hour is easy in PLO. i wasted my whole life in horrible cities like vegas and atlantic city when poker is so much better elsewhere. and i wasted my whole life playing NL when its not a game thats easily beatable for anyone except Bill Potts.

also i dont give money to people like Britni or Lorna anymore and that was a horrible drain in my 30s when i was young enough to still be interested in women. i havent given any hookers money in a good 15 years or more now.

its also possible Covid removed a lot of the tightest pros from the market and loosened up the games, or maybe its just the new bomb pots have loosened the games.

okay now what do i do with all this money?

ive never had my bankroll (means the same thing as net worth) over $64,000. (unless u consider the fact that 40-50k was worth more in the early 2010s than $64k is today.) at least it seems like it was, considering how much less expensive rent was then, hotel costs, Uber costs, and food costs.

Of course a lot of that was because i would waste so much money on poor payback video poker machines and poor payback video BJ machines.

--------this blog, which is long overdue, i started composing a couple weeks or so ago when i was still at Choctaw and was at the high water mark of 64,300. ----i am now no longer in choctaw or at the high water mark. i still have over 60k at least.

i was on my way to Tulsa and was going to visit some poker rooms ive never seen before. so the first place i went after leaving Choctaw was the Grand resort in Shawnee OK which has a poker room thats only open 4 days a week. the first day i came the 1-2 NL had no open seats but i got immediate seating in a private game that usually accepts anyone. it was a $500 min buy PLO game. and i thought i would lose my ass in it but somehow i made $263 in it right before it broke. that was a good comeback after being stuck $500 at one time.

the next morning i made sure to be one of the first 9 to get seated, otherwise its a long wait because of an hours promotion going on. and the game here is quite loose way better game than u would find in choctaw or riverwind for 1-2 NL. ive won over 300 3 different times in the 1-2 NL here.

they do the right thing here by using Poker Atlas instead of Bravo. its a shame all the rooms in OK dont use them instead of bravo. made it a little easier to sign the list before the poker room opens.

2 big fans of mine on twitter i didnt know from Adam, (that is his real name) also happened to be in a different casino nearby, saw my tweet and drove about 40 miles to come see if they could find me in the poker room.

at first i was told i wouldnt be able to keep my room til sunday and have to check out but at the last second she managed to find availability at the hotel desk so that solves a big problem no other hotels nearby and i would like to avoid Uber fees. plus the poker rate at $59 weekdays and $79 weekends is quite reasonable.

and the slot machine promotion is 5-11pm tues wed and thurs. earn 100 slot points and get $50 in free play. well considering that is only $600 thru the video blackjack machine which is 3-2 and stands on 17, thats a really good deal. the expected loss would be under $4

once i hit Tulsa, thats when ill get a place with a large size fridge longer term and finally have a microwave and access to a laundry room again. the smart idea would be to prepay a couple months rent before anything happens to this money and also spend a little on a doctor for bloodwork and maybe some other things that need done.

at least PLO will exist a little more often in Tulsa than it does here or choctaw, but not nearly as much as in TCH dallas.

------2nd wait for the blog and next update--------

im actually in Tulsa now and in a hotel room with a laundry room a few doors down the hall, but one of the washers was not working so i couldnt do both loads at the same time, and im currently drying the first load out of the washer, and washing the 2nd load. luckily i still had exactly 2 detergent packs left in my suitcase. i hope the dryer works good. am returning to the laundry room at 1053am this morning to find out. there are 2 dryers and only 1 washer because the other one is listed as out of service. granted there is probably more laundry rooms on other guest floors if i have too many issues. also they either made u pay with a credit card or scan a code which ive never known how to do so i just inserted my bank of america card and i got it to work.

shame there is no  candlewood suites here there is one but its way out in owassa way too far away. those are much nicer because they offer FREE laundry. also my hotel i took a good brand but their rooms here are kind of shitty. didnt include the silverware for some reason like it always does and no in room safe.

the Uber fares are quite a bit more than i thought they would be here, and they also have Lyft which is sometimes a little less.

also the VBJ (and live BJ options) really suck in Tulsa. there is 1 live BJ with free ante 3 days a week in the place way up north. but not at the 2 casinos with live poker. and one of the casinos offers no VBJ at all (except even money bar top kind, no doubling or splits allowed) and the other casino only offers  VBJ at 6-5 on casino wizard. granted both games do have video roulette and craps but u dont even get any points. way way different than both shawnee and choctaw.

and of course no 24 hour poker really sucks too.

at least last nights 1-2 PLO game was decent. i liked being able to min buy only 100 and not having to bring it in for 5. of course almost every hand was either a $5 button straddle or a $5 UTG straddle (which surprisingly took priority over the button) so it was rare u could call $2. and Tulsa does not have bomb pots at either casino.

although the game started off $100-500 buyin, it quickly became much larger. u see, they allow match the stack and after the first hand, one guy tripled up his $500 and 2 others lost their whole $500 stack. and then both them rebought for quite a bit and a few other players added another $1000.

i played about 5 hours and left dead tired. but i managed to fix my sleep hours. woke up today about 9am instead of waking up at 1 or 2am. im looking forward to the Thursday night 1-2 pot limit hilow game. the host has my phone number now and said it goes thursday evening. but then another player the next day in the high game said that it wouldnt go. but the 10-20 high low goes either 2 or 3 times a week.

yesterday on monday, the game started at 6pm. and all this is at the river spirit casino not the hard rock. surprisingly enough the hard rock here isnt connected to the other hard rocks, which have combined all the players cards.

i was going to use this 60k to get into a place longer term and though ive not added up my roll in about 10 days now, im estimating it to be between 60,500 and 61,000. so ive still got a decent amount to work with. i dont like the fact my hotel has no in room safe, like they normally would, but i did put $4000 of the money in the bank of america atm yesterday. i need to go do the same with wells fargo.

ill try to start waking up and going to the casino in the afternoons to play in the evening PLO game at times or the 11am big 0 hilow game. sad to say the game i want to play wont be at the same time every day. there is also an hours promotion here too. if u get in 100 hours of play in march u get $10 an hour. put in 50 hours of play and get $5 an hour, and also various other amount in between, such as $8 an hour for 80 hours. its a real shame i tired out too much to play long hours anymore. also if i get way up i dont want to either.

i noticed my free play for April at choctaw somehow got reduced to $200 a week from $250 a week, but granted i dont know if ill be nearby there to even pick it up now.

and ive still got the number of an Uber driver or 2 here or in Shawnee willing to drive long distances if i need a ride. also my room is huge. includes 2 beds and also a seperate living area. plenty of space for more people. Lightning and Ray should come visit.

an incident with Priceline support

i was concerned about having a big overdue loss on the VBJ machine in Oklahoma that id been winning on, so when kingofdonks was at the casino and offered to let me ride into dallas with him, i decided to go back to dallas with him. id lost enough by having my whole 6k in bitcoin be lost online playing BJ, and i was still ahead on the machine and i didnt want to lose on it too. also the poker room there sucks and the PLO only goes on fri and sat nights and i lost 4200 in it the last time i played it. why?

they were playing it 4 handed at 6am on sunday morning those were all the players left, everyone else had quit so they were doing a $25 ante per person and going right to the flop before any more betting started. it was similar to a bomb pot (which OK doesnt allow) but with only 1 board, not 2 like in a real bomb pot.

i began to get stuck, and eventually was out 1100, ($25 a hand goes fast) and then i made the grave error of rebuying for the whole $3700 i had in my pocket instead of $1100. and a new lady had recently sat and was nonstop raising everything, said she had lost a lot at live blackjack, and was hitting every hand and said she wish she couldve hit it in blackjack instead.

i finally got a flop of 88T and i had TTA9 single suited in my hand and i was letting her bet and then i raised the river, she reraised me and had 8888. so i left the table stuck 4200 and went to bed.

they still played 3 handed for 2 more hours or so. one regular was stuck a ton of money besides me.

my host said id been staying at choctaw way too many nights a month and he couldnt really comp me any more and said i was limited to 20 nights a month but he was going to go ahead and let me have friday and saturday but i ended up going to dallas instead so i wouldnt be needing to pay Uber on sunday.

on the way into dallas i went to book a hotel room for thursday night for 6 days, to check out wednesday of next week with the plan to then return to OK, pick up $225 and likely more in free play and get 4 free nights again. and we lost the signal in his car enroute while doing the reservation and it said it didnt go thru.

so i went to do it again a few minutes later as we got closer to Sherman. and i didnt see the other hotel, so i thought maybe it had sold out, so i booked a different hotel for a little bit more i thought was a better hotel. the first reservation was $572 and the 2nd reservation was $697.

this time it went thru and i put the phone away, never even bothering to check yahoo email to see what emails i might have received. he was nice enough to stop at walmart enroute and i bought food for 6 nights, and dropped off the food and the suitcases at the hotel.

i did not realize at the time, i put the food that belongs in the freezer in the fridge, and the food that belonged in the fridge in the freezer because the freezer was in the bottom of the fridge instead of the top like on every other fridge. i noticed it only after i had returned a few hours later.

he then dropped me off at the cardhouse, and i played poker a few hours, and eventually left the game up $2 after being stuck 400 at one point.

i never checked my emails the whole time because i was using the phone either not at all or to play bejeweled.

so when i got to my room and was using my laptop i noticed the other reservation had went thru and of course i immediately contacted priceline and explained the situation. the lady was really nice and said she would contact the hotel, because it was listed as nonrefundable.

then she told me that priceline hadnt actually handled the reservation (i was on hold for a few minutes) and that their partner company agoda, had my reservation so she then called them and explained the situation and said id hear from them and they would contact the other hotel.

well when i woke up this morning i got an email saying they contacted the hotel and was told due to the hotels cancellation policy that id be charged in full and the reservation couldnt be cancelled.

so when i woke up at 145pm and found the email, the first thing i did was contact the manager of the hotel to explain and complain.

and i was told theyd never talked to the manager, no idea if they had even talked to anyone at 4am, and the manager said i was listed as a no show and wouldve only been charged the 1 night not the whole reservation if at all and she would gladly cancel it but to have priceline contact the hotel again.

so thats what i did, and now im waiting on priceline to have agoda contact the hotel a 2nd time but i dont believe they even contacted them the first time. i wish priceline would stop using other companies to book when i do the booking thru priceline.

i still have no idea if i will even get my $572 back or at least only be charged 1 night.

i dont see how this is my fault since my phone showed it as not going thru, in the car and that is why i immediately made the other reservation. guess that is a lesson to always check all emails constantly.
