im tired of deadwood, mainly due to big VBJ losses.

if i couldve only came in the winter instead of the summer, the pressure wouldve been off. i couldve lived for about $500 a month, instead of $3000-4000 a month, and i couldve easily won that and grown the roll. and it wouldve been so dead i couldve finally won some of those $1000 drawings with far less people in the casino.

but i didnt and u know why i didnt because it was a brand new VBJ machine and if i had waited, it mightve not been there or stopped giving points. and were it not for my vociferous suggestions to multiple casino management employees, the machine still would not be giving points.

im losing worse than i would otherwise because my insistence of being in the casino when theres no other customers in there on any other machine, not just the VBJ is costing me money. yes the casino is 100% dead in the middle of the night and early morning. but im not there during the hot seat hours and thats costing me money. and im waking up so late now i get in less poker hours than i should. and sundays drawings in the poker room start at 1pm, and ill never be awake that soon. like today i didnt wake up til 615pm. . today ill wake up much later because im going to sleep much later.

I'm afraid ill flip out on someone and get banned if i dont quit betting so much and losing so much on VBJ and the only 2 remaining good VBJ machines in the USA are both in deadwood. But i cant win on them for 2 reasons. 1, i dont have a big enough bankroll to spread from 1 spot of $1 to 5 spots of $100 each. 2, i cannot stop myself from overbetting or raising the bet too soon like on the first hand of a new shoe when heavily stuck. the reason for the first hand? well often the deck never goes plus for multiple shoes in a row, and it will be negative every hand but the first hand off the top.

so my true problem is a lack of discipline so u can understand the true issue.

tonight, over the course of 7 shoes, right before i was about to leave, i ran into 3 good shoes with plus counts of 14 and above which is very rare to do it in 3 different shoes that fast. and once it got to plus 23 and still didnt shuffle. and i lost repeatedly because i couldnt bring myself to not bet much more than i could afford with me being stuck and desperately wanting to get even and knowing ill never have a shoe that high again.

i know airbnb is nonrefundable but id like to see if the owner of the house ill be staying in july 31 thru august 3 will refund my $334 for those 3 nites if i ask and explain why i should get out of town immediately. for i definitely dont belong here.

my hotel is not and im good 6 more nites til the 31st.

i should skip the saturday drawing which i never hit, either that or go there with a book and no money. but i should skip it to play PLO $1-2 blinds $200 min buyin, no max on this saturday night. if its going to go every week, and i risk $2000 at VBJ in one night, why not try it on PLO?

i should go to Rays, and borrow $10,000 of his credit to grind poker with then pay it back. and he should too instead of just letting it sit there and not touch it. the interest would be far less than $500 a month in my opinion. he went to cleveland for 2 nights and i helped him find the hotel but he had no luck this time. but id like to withdraw all the money off all of Rays credit cards for about $28,000 and put the whole thing in this VBJ machine and come right back to deadwood with all his cash, because then i think id have enough to ride out the swings and win.

the taxicab drivers Samantha and Travis with one of the cab companies in the area offered me a room in their house for $1600 for aug 2 to aug 28 while their kids will be out of town with their dad but i cant stand losing at VBJ any more and just need to leave. i had been talking with them wondering about where id stay and they kept asking me if id found housing (i think thats her boyfriend, they live together) and they finally offered me a room for $1600 for the month. i wonder if Corey knows them and his opinion of if i would be ok staying with them and nothing bad would happen to me.

i wish id have had the power to leave, and get a plane but unless u do it very early in the morning, there are no planes out of here. and id have to pay a few hundred up front. plus about $100 more into rapid city from deadwood. its difficult to force myself to leave and this is why i needed someone with a car to drive me out of here, like i tried to get Ray to come up here to take a little road trip into montana or maybe minnesota on the way back to toledo. for i dont have the will power to do it myself til i lose everything or at least drop to about $8000.

i might not even be behind on the VBJ overall but i sure feel behind. remember, when i arrived here i had far less than the $14,800 i have now. im not sure how i increased it so much with all the high costs of living here.

a very disappointing evening

Just this morning, about 7am, after spending the night playing VBJ at both the Bullock and the DMG, i was up to $17,900 once more, and i thought for sure i could FINALLY pass the $18k mark once more after tonights poker room only drawings at cadillac Jacks. but instead, im at $16,000.

because my room at Cadillac Jacks couldnt be renewed anymore for the $100 a night special price arranged thru the poker room manager and also thru the hotel manager, since the normal price is quite a lot higher than this and theyre being sold out more and more as it gets into the BUSIEST 3 weeks of the year here, (last week of July and first 2 weeks of august during the Sturgis motorcycle rally) had i stayed here even with a much lower price id still been paying over $170 per night. But the manager managed to find me a price of $115 a night with tax at a much lesser hotel not in a casino still in the general area with transportation available.

so i booked my room for 12 nights for $1382 total and im good now thru the 31st of July. then prices skyrocket even more to well over $2000 a week and will be sold out entirely so ill still be forced out of town against my will.

once september comes though, lots of vacancies start opening up and the airbnb lady wouldve been able to let me in for $1000 a month.

i took the room earlier tonight when i talked to the poker room manager, right before they were starting drawings and that will carry me til the much bigger drawings on July 29, but ive always hated drawings and did so much worse than expected i almost wish i could cancel it and leave town tomorrow.

i had 110 tickets which was the most of anyone in the room. the guy with the 2nd most tickets had 96 and got called 3 times. a lot of others were called once, or twice, and i never got a single $125 out of the drawing til the last one of the night. i never had luck with drawings and never cared or felt any confidence in them but i still felt obligated to be both there and of course at the DMG every saturday night. i thought i was getting nothing at all once the 1030 drawing ended and only the 11pm one was left. they started every half hour at 6pm.

i lost over $600 in the game too, the drawing recovered very little of it. and they actually had 2 drawings per half hour one based on the number of tickets u had and one where the person with 1 hour had an equal chance of the one with 60 hours. so it wasnt the fairest way in my opinion to arrange it. so there was no real incentive like i first assumed naturally there would be to put in a ton of hours. ive never lost anywhere close to that in this room, and its a good game late at nights, the later the better though it often breaks long before 2am. i usually win but certainly not tonight, my biggest loss ever in this poker room.

i am glad the manager worked hard to find me a place to live nearby though, i just wish he wouldnt have switched to doing the drawings, or did them where those with more hours had a better shot in all the drawings instead of only half the drawings. the month before u would get back $5 an hour rakeback which worked out better for me, but not for others and he said it wasnt bringing in enough people.

lucky i won so much in the DMG this morning, so im at least still about $16,000 and with no more expenses the rest of July maybe ill have a shot of being back to 17k-18k by the first of august if i dont take no more big VBJ losses. if i do ill really regret not leaving town.

Ray is doing quite well, won over $2000 in PLO today and posted pictures on twitter. i should be there and i cant get him to come here, but i need him here to do a little road trip in montana. i was glad to see him win it i wish he would win that much all the time and do a better job of staying away from games he doesnt have an edge such as video poker.

i thought at first with $2500 being given away tonight id have a good shot of like $300-750 of it as more as id be playing than most players. but not so

River dragon, first time experience

well i cant say now ive never played a river dragon. i didnt even realize or think about the fact theyd treat it as a jackpot once it hits and give u a w-2 form like u won $5000 when really u put in a lot of that to get it back so it certainly isnt all profit like it looks to the government.

i guess one reason is because in everywhere else but here there would be competition for that river dragon. one guy on twitter who lives in reno told me it would never get that high there. but there was no one on it even at $4918 here and also when i came back in the morning and found it unlocked at $4925, where i left it but i was told south dakota gaming law doesnt allow a machine to be held for a customer? all other states do. so they seldom would lock it even when i had to run up the street or to my room.

i played it steadily from $4925 onward, for a time period of almost 24 hours but not quite til i finally hit it had i bet faster or higher than 88c, the meter wouldve rose much faster. thank God it finally hit at $4992 because even though i did rather well from $4925 to $4960 it started really running worse towards the very end. for example the mini hit at $498 and i lost back all of it plus over $100 more before the other finally hit.

this being said, i still won over $2000 on it. this is primarily due to a huge win of over $900 on it early in the day off 128 free spins and being ahead a lot of the time til in the afternoon. so by the time it hit i was down about $570 from the previous day, about $130 more on various messing around on it before it hit $4910, and about $2300 more on the final day. most of which was lost between $4960 and $4992 on the meter of the river dragon.

and it seemed like not a hustler was around wanting me to get off so they could play i worried the entire time someone would let me play it til the bitter end running up the meter, then suddenly show up and find a way to have me thrown off the machine once it passed 4980 or so. but that never happened. i didnt know if they were planning to physically come inside and make me feel threatened if i didnt leave, or find a way to pull the power to force me off it. or to maybe show the nice manager named Colton on the night shift my comments in my previous blog regarding his gay pride button which he still wears, though hes been friendly and helpful, especially in getting me in for my 3 free nights before normal checkin hours. but i figured someone would try to get me thrown out just so they could play the machine. so i started betting much much faster than normal, stopping the reels instead of letting them spin like usual. and my hand was getting tired.

it might of not took close to 24 hours had i been doing this the entire time, instead of towards the end.

all i knew is if i bet a higher denomination than 88c, id be taking on way too much variance.

so im officially checked out of my airbnb since it booked up, though there will be vacancy again sometime later this week. id like to return to Toledo and play poker in detroit with Ray, who is doing well and has a bit higher roll than he normally does. he would like to have me back. but im pissed i missed out on $1000 leaving the drawing too soon. i will have a lot of tickets for this saturday drawing too and i think i have a decent shot of money in the cadillac jack poker drawing for the 18th too. then maybe leave town on the 19th im getting tired of how little poker deadwood has and im tired of playing VBJ, due to not running well on it lately.

ive given back the $3000 plus in wins ive had on it early. even after winning on the river dragon, im still only at $16300. i was briefly at 17,000 once. and i missed out on a $1000 drawing win too by leaving 30 minutes too early. but i hadnt been called yet, there were a ton of tickets and i figured out my equity was like $160 if i stayed for the entire night so i stayed about 85% of it then left figured i was only giving up a small amount of equity, but then i went and got called. u can only play video blackjack for so long without wanting to take a break and play some poker.

how its going in deadwood so far

i really dont know why i havent taken any big losses on the VBJ. well i did once or twice of over $1000 but ive always gotten it back and am still more than $3000 better off than when i came to deadwood, even with high cost of living expenses. but prices are going to keep skyrocketing especially as u get into August, to well over $1500 a week.

i still havent won a saturday night drawing as many tons of tickets as i have, its been about a week now or so since i last got a $50 hot seat, but i did get my $200 in free play on the first of July which ill get twice monthly, along with $150 in food comps and 3 free nights. maybe if i had more play and a higher level card id get even more, no idea what the maximum monthly mailer is.

and it would be so dirt cheap to live here if it was winter or if i could get a long term apartment. many are less than $600 a month. but the poker sucks, no game went sunday or monday except the tourneys in the lodge, and i hate tourneys.

i also think i can get about $500-1000 extra a month here checking the Harley, ocean magic, etc, because theres no other hustlers here but me.

i knew i had to go somewhere to prove to myself i could win at BJ, after all the big losses in colorado including the final day there where i not only spent tons on Ubers and hotels leaving town, i lost over $1000 or more apiece in each of 3 different casinos on the final day. and then of course, the $1000 i lost back in the Omaha the day before. but overall, i had over $6000 in poker winnings for May, and over $5000 for June. 6 months into the year, im at $26,000 for the year. is it possible i could have my first ever $50k plus year in almost 30 years of playing? not likely, so many of the first 6 months were really above average.

and im surprised my teeth havent been painful since but they still need to come out. plus i seem to be waking up a lot more times a night to use the restroom than before. and going in a lot smaller increments at one time.

how do u find a landlord whose so desperate for money for a run down junk place he hasnt been able to rent to anyone than u can offer him a really good deal, for a lot more than he would rent it for otherwise and get him to accept letting someone prepay in full and move in for a few months? theres places to rent here for $350 a month, but i fear it would be useless to call any landlords and talk to them. i wonder if i could buy a used RV or camper for under $3000 and get permission to park it somewhere long term for a low price?

but yeah i really dont understand why every single day im increasing my roll by at least $300 or more. im up to $16,900 now and thats not bad considering i was once down to $10,900. Ray is having good luck in motor city too in the new $1-2 PLO. Unless he had the good luck in the $1-3 PLO in the MGM.

i consider all my winnings to be from video BJ, because my $1335 bad beat, all of that plus any other poker winnings has gone on cost of living expenses for rooms. and also it seems like no matter what casino or business u enter, theres a terrible problem with flies.
