Poker truths

I'm concerned about my future poker results for 2017, i dont wish for 2016 $46,000 winnings to be a fluke. See i've got in quite a few LESS poker hours in for the first 2 months of 2017. about 100 hours less than i shouldve. most of this, is due to the massive amounts of TIME wasted playing BJ.

ive got over 250 hours of $1-2 hours in 2017. for the measly win rate of $7 per hour, split between reno and vegas. this is much lower than it should be.

i've got 24 hours of $3-5 NL, for $87 hour. this is quite a bit higher than it should be according to Bill Potts (and most $2-5 players).

and yet im still uncomfortable with the swings in $3-5 NL unless im stuck first, this is WRONG way to think. plus my buyins are for unusual amounts and all over the place. my variance is more than im comfortable with by far.

im playing less BJ now, but i did recover a few thousand in the past 10 days from playing BJ, at lower stakes. im barely at $30k, and i wont be after i renew the room if i dont get out of town tomorrow. i was at a high of $30,700 (after dropping to $23,900) with the last few days winnings before i lost over $600 tonight.

yesterday while in the $3-5, i recovered the $113 id lost in $1-2, the money id lost in $3-5 earlier, and left with over $600 profit. all after id rebought the whole $1200 left i had with me in cash, which i managed to double up on 1 pot. i called a $15 straddle with 95 of spades, then made a loose call of $50 more when the straddler raised. id just moved tables and no one had no idea how i play well some mightve. i wouldnt bought in so much had i known id be called for the must move, i was trying to get the money from a guy on the other table with his friend from stones.

Flop come 994 with 2 hearts. the raiser bets $100, i make it $300. he thinks and calls. hes asking many questions so i dont think hes got the 9. this is correct when someone does this, right?

turn comes 3. i "accidently" flash the 5 of spades, but i have no idea if he sees it. i just think if he does, surely he wont put me on a 9 as the other card. i then bet allin, and talk about how ill go play BJ if this loses. some of them know me to do this (play BJ) if im caught bluffing. he asks to see a card once i swore on my life i had 5-6 of spades. and that id show the bluff regardless. so i showed the 5. he finally calls. i pray he dont river the flush, but the 10 of clubs came. i show he mucks, never did find out what he had. i told him the 9 was upside down, and id mistook it for the 6. he left after this hand to play 5-10 NL, which was recently starting.

then Yoshis friend older guy from the atlantis mixed game came to pick me up for the PLO/plo8 mix. i then played it for 2 hours or so, then he drove me to the silver legacy and dropped me off. i didnt claim my money from the cage, but i did get my suitcases, then went to take a room elsewhere for fri-sat nights. i didnt play no BJ, the shoe was $25 instead of $5, some guy was playing it. the casino was so busy there were other shoes open, but too many people and i was tired. when u get to be my age, u dont feel like doing anything but sleeping immediately once tired. the same tonight, once i lost $300 in one orbit with only $140 left on the table out of over $400 of the $820  i was in for total, i only wanted to get to my room immediately, relax online, then sleep. i think i played poorly the last 20 minutes. i dont remember the hands, but i think i took one beat and then played one bad.

i just wish i could decide which game to play, and how to mentally handle it (swings). it doesnt make sense to play for $7 per hour, and not $87. one will make me very rich, over $150,000 per year. one wont even provide rooms.

Such horrible weather, it screwed up everything

So today i check out of my room in the Nugget in sparks about 11am and give my bags to the bellmen and go to play a little BJ for a bit. ive been winning today, yesterday and the day before in both BJ and in poker, so much so that im back to the $26,000s from the $23,000s. Including $400+ from the mixed game in the atlantis yesterday, $200+ from the $1-2 NL in the peppermill yesterday, $400+ from the $3-5 NL in the peppermill the night before, todays $500 win in the silver legacy, yesterdays $600+ win in the nugget, Plus todays $1000 win in the nugget right after i checked out.

U can see how much ive lost in Reno, by how much ive been given free rooms. 4 nights in the peppermill, 5 nights in the Sparks nugget, and 6 nights in the silver legacy.

Now to discuss how tonights plans got destroyed because of the weather. uve never seen rainy wet snow til u seen todays weather in reno. so much so my socks got soaked walking around. so many trips back and forth to the train station. it was supposed to leave at 4pm. they said check back at 5.30-6. i did, they said 7pm. then 8. then 10. by then i was thouroughly fed up, and the guy in the station who couldnt go home yet and on overtime (station normally closes at 4.45) and told me the train was still 3 hours out wasnt in a good mood either, and he felt i was taking it out on him. i convinced him to refund the entire trip, without being charged a fee for it. so it will take a few days. But the $321 is going to come back. when it does, ill be over $27,000.

Of course, ill end up rebooking another ticket, but maybe this time ill book a plane. im using days 5-6 now in the silver legacy. got 2 nights tonight from the host. just checked in 2 hours ago. (the previous nights i lived in sparks).

had some plans for a vacation. it involved riding a train, a bus, and a shuttle. visiting 9 or so different tiny casinos in a small mountain time, the different options of where to sleep, quite a few hotels, some for $40 with 4 hours poker, (the midnight rose) and then other casino hotels with free rooms for 550 points (no idea how much coin in this is). or 650 points on weekends. no idea if this sells out too. seems one place rents long term, but with only 6 rooms. wouldve been nice to check out their BJ games too. then of course id probably check out blackhawk/central city too. the isle there gives free rooms with 6 hours sun-thurs, but it seems there might not be a game or at least NL. and of course in the NL games its $100 max.

but now what do i do, im still in reno for 2 nights.

annoying things which piss u off while at the BJ table besides the fact ur losing

Well it looks like i wont be riding the rails quite as soon as id liked. u see, it keeps being sold out if u dont book either the train to Denver, the train to St louis, or the train to Toledo a few days ahead of time. there were multiple times in previous years this wasnt the case, and i cant tie myself down because i could change my destination. airlines dont usually sell out, instead they just increase the price. so this means amtrak doesnt charge enough. for if they sell out, it means they couldve got more money. its better to have to pay more and still be able to get a seat than to not be able to get on it at all, right?

its finally starting to really dawn on me (and upset me royally) just how stupid it was to lose over $20,000. like losing a years income, and for well over 75% of my lifetime, my bankroll was never near this high. But could i have stopped this from happening (with the exception of keeping my bets or stakes really low)?

i havent really been playing any differently in reno than i did in vegas, except i spent much more time playing poker in vegas than i did in reno. But im playing using the same methods i did downtown vegas. the only difference is i played the $25 table once, but this isnt where i lost. Only thing i think i do wrong is bet way way more than my bankroll allowed. ive been told my total bets for all 3 spots combined should NEVER be over 2% of the roll.

Plus, the players really upset me, (of course, this is why i always wish to play alone). about the only time i dont wish to is when the count is horrendous and i dont wish to have to eat up cards the entire rest of the shoe by myself. Then id like ONE player and only 1, to sit down. more, i fear will cause others to join also, and i certainly dont wish for the empty spot next to me to fill up which i need to keep open for the times my bets move to 2 spots or more. im sure not going to bet the same amount of spots every time. the way most of these people play (like the guys in front of me who REFUSE to hit 14 vs 8) to stick me with the bust card which theyre supposed to take of course, every time. or give me the 6 for my double down on 10 which theyre supposed to take for their 20 instead. its like theyre trying to make me lose on purpose, or are much more mentally retarded than me. or like the house is shilling them the money to play with to help me lose. How else could they not even be trying?

so many things offend me when playing (and losing). Like the cocktail waitress always putting the drink on the right side of me when i previously request it on my left and always immediately moving it there. the dealers trying to encourage the sucker side bet, which i wish no casinos offered, but theyre never going to stop because this is where 90% of the profits come from the suckers who bet it. always having to refuse the insurance because they keep dealing themself an ace. (if 1 of the big casinos stopped offering insurance to speed up the game, theyd get all the business). AND ESPECIALLY THE BLACK GUY THE OTHER DAY IN THE SILVER LEGACY WHO COMMENTED ON THE FACT I HAD A LOT OF MONEY "AND WAS WINNING BIG" (I WASNT) WHEN HE FIRST SIT DOWN. this is where i started losing the whole $10,000 plus in one sitting last week. of course long before my 3 final big bets, hed gone from the table about 15 minutes prior.

God i hate it when people do this. (act like ur winning simply because u got lots of chips). its either employees feeling resentful seeing u with so much money-and mooching off u- or broke people whod like to take it from u outside. this black guy, i assumed all he sees is a white guy with $$$ so assumes hes rich. he doesnt see me as a human being, just as a rich white republican.

i tipped close to $40 over a few hours 2-3 times before the big losses, usually while up $1000 or so early on. but im sure tipping next to nothing now. maybe 2-3 $1 bets every shoe. i wish i had this back, truthfully id be much better off health wise and money wise if i had back every tip ive ever given out while doing much better over my life. i dont feel i deserve good health since im not winning, or making wise decisions. plus i dont see myself sticking in town long enough to fix it.

well im glad this long overdue chore of updating the blog is over with. and its time to go pay my $800-1200 monthly uber fee and go play some poker. if i put in my $14 hourly here in reno, eventually in several years ill be back from the $25,000s to the $45,000s. no more online bitcoin BJ either, ive lost close to $5000 in this too over the past 4 months. theres only 1 good site left, and ive not been winning there and sometimes its not letting me login. poor management and maintenance. the other good site, bitzino, shut down suddenly on me.

riding the rails

well its a good thing my roll got briefly over $45,000 before things went badly wrong. but of course a big loss was overdue and inevitable sooner or later with the way i was structuring my BJ bets during good counts. new roll $33,000

good reason why its a good idea not to have too much cash on u. when i woke up in my room in the legacy vacation club timeshare resort (which sells thru priceline) where RobVegasPoker would agree with me thats its less than 200 miles from the Peppermill. i woke up about 4 am, and decided to take the Uber to a different casino this time. Once there i got the pit boss to open a shoe game for me, $25 min $2000 max, no smoking, with rules paying 3-2. it shouldve been much easier to win here than in other places, seeing they let u double down on the first 3 cards instead of just the first 2, and since it lets u split aces more than once. much better game than the atlantis. but of couse, the risk i take in doubling up bets, losing sooner or later is evitable. im just shocked it took so long, and i won so much in vegas without it ever happening in the pits there downtown.

id have preferred $15 min, but he made it $25. im not going to argue, these were good rules to have at my own table. i bought in $3000 originally, started off ahead, got low, rebought $6000, and was in for the whole $9000 in cash i had. finally with 3 big bets up, i won with a BJ, and got back to being up somewhat more than $1000.

he even switched dealers for me when i complained that the one dealer (asian of course) so was the pit boss for this matter, but the dealer wouldnt speak. showed no emotion even with a tip, or when losing or winning. the new dealer was an older overweight white woman with glasses who was very good about rooting for me to win, or being very disappointed every time she cost me money. she got several tips early on til i lost a ton of hands close to the very end. Tipping $1 on $25 bets is much easier than on $5-10 bets.

of course, i told him this when he went over with me close to 20 feet away from the table.

he had to approve it with someone higher up which took like 30 minutes, but i ended up with 3 nights free.

the 2nd or 3rd time my bets started getting really high, to once 3 hands of $1250 on the final hand with a split and 2 doubles, where if it wouldve won id been up over $6000. he let me go to the atm during the final hand, where i withdrew $2000 more (max) which means i was in the game for $11,215 total. i cashed out $934. i needed it for the final double down. its easier to allow this if no one but u on the table.

such good rules, (wonder what this brings the payback to without counting?) but the running count was like plus 7 with 2 decks or so left. now u are supposed to double down on A3 againt the dealers 5. but what if u get dealt another a or a 2 or 3? or u could get a face card which u dont want. so instead of doubling, (and im wondering if any other experienced BJ players would agree with this idea) i decided since i could still double down after getting an ace, 2,3,4 i just hit it. i got an ace, and being relieved i didnt double, i then doubled after the 3rd card, and got a lousy 9.

then the dealer turned over 15, then took a card, which was a 6. both the pit boss watching and the dealer felt bad, for she busts with the 9 if i double down instead of waiting for the next card to double. i couldnt play no more, was down way too much, so i cashed out what little was left and sat on the VP for an hour or so waiting for them to approve my room, won little bit less than $200 from VP.

this was like the 3rd time this shoe while with bigger bets out and a good count, the dealer drew to 21. the odds very rare id lose this much. this is why it took so long to lose it.

i think now i will ride the amtrak once my 3 nights up. first ill pick up the money in the peppermill and atlantis, then take a sleeper car.

I'm pissed off

really i shouldnt be, (though my $45,000+ roll is now $43,900+) but i thought i was losing close to $600-700 more. truth be told, here in the tahoe Biltmore, since coming here after leaving reno tues morning, i am still up over $400 overall. but not nearly what i was up before dropping this $1214 over the past 4 hours. theres still a long night to go theres no way to get Uber into reno or sacramento this time of the morning, its like only 1.30 am reno time thursday morning.

i am disappointed Vince wont be around for my birthday so now i wont have any special way to celebrate it. yesterday he mentioned being in Chumash casino playing $3-6 fixed limit big o. ive never been to chumash same for most of u. i thought he was taking a trip to lake tahoe, but it turned out he isnt, hes got a dealing job coming up later this month. hes not coming up here til april. i was going to give him gas money to see 3 different rooms in cali close to 50-75 miles from me ive never been to.

ive still got quite a bit of the money stored in various casinos in reno, over $15,000 worth. Only about $9000 is still with me to work with. some is still in the bank too. i did ride the city bus to buy groceries in the rain today over to incline village and back, this weather up here is horrible. teeth need fixed of course. im wondering if vince was right, i shouldve done this before leaving vegas.

i dont feel reno is really where i want to go instead of vegas. i didnt wish to live in vegas, but theres no good VBJ or regular shoe BJ in reno i like, id rather be in shreveport or other cities. i no longer feel like staying here, but where do i take the amtrak too? where do i fix the teeth?

for the most part, over 95% of the time, ive been left to myself on the VBJ without people. this is just as dead as Hoover dam lodge, even more so. the one kid (so many people in this town dont look over 21 in this casino, including lots of employees) who wouldve sat at least walked off when i didnt feel like associating with no one instead of giving me attitude. when losing big money u really cant afford to, the last thing u wish to do is sit and socialize with strangers. u just want time alone.

theres no hookers in here ever to socialize with either.  the ONLY people who ever come up to talk who arent employees are MEN. people under 40, way under 40, the filth and scum of this new age who believe differently than the rest of us from the much older generation. people who do NOT hold no moral views on sexuality, didnt vote for Trump, dont believe in God or the Bible, they drink, smoke weed, and wish it to be legal. they hate capitalism and believe the govts main responsibility is to provide for everyones financial needs so they dont need to work, and think those of us with disabilities should be aborted before theyre born, so they dont have to deal with our idiosyncracies on the poker table. plus this guy reeked of alcohol. he didnt like not getting a seat when im stuck heavily tying up 5 spots when not betting 5 every hand but at least he left without making too much of an issue. i never had a girlfriend, no matter how much i put other womens needs over my own (think Sue and Britni) and now i only care about money-its what i love now. not women, got no interest in women. i dont like their life views and perspectives. they dont have the old fashioned ones from my grandmothers days no more who wish to be good wives and housemates.

now within the previous 10 minutes i posted 2 new blogs. these 2 blogs, make sure u see them BOTH. not just this one. this is the truth, not the fake tweet i posted, i only posted it curious to see how many people who would be willing to believe the worst.

Reno trip

First off, i wonder if the host who let me have 4 nights in the Peppermill, (checking out tues morning) (when i might take a private sleeper car to toledo via amtrak) knew of the blog entry where i discussed his potential homosexuality 2 yrs ago?

theres not much good BJ here as far as shoe games are concerned. to begin with, i cant play BJ in the GSR where kristi insisted i get us a room so she could sleep around 6 am thurs. so i used my 2 free nights there. not only did she insist on the room, she insisted it be 2 beds. but i left the room worried about getting the $20,000 plus locked up, so she ended up being the only one in it. the cost of the ride to reno was $500.

on the way we had a lot of fun in beatty playing $1-2 NL where most of them smoked. the dealers were trash talking the regulars too, if u seen the tweets.

so i started off locking up the money in the atlantis but not all of it. there were NO shoe games in the atlantis, and the ones during the day dont pay 3-2. i had to get the casino table pit manager debbie to open a $25-2000 table just for me, to get a 6 deck shoe game instead of the 1,2 decks and continous shufflers and shoes with 6-5 payouts. but she gave me my 3-2 game. i played it twice, on different days. once i won $2000, once i won $1500.

when i first went into the peppermill, i quickly lost close to $5000 in their shoe game. this is how i got the free room over the superbowl weekend.

since then ive recovered, am and still over $43,000. lost and won over $1500 on big split poker too. theyve reduced the pay schedule too. won over $1500 once in the $3-5 NL and lost over $1900 once in the $1-2 NL. mostly play just $3-5 NL now. tried the mix game but theyve added too many weird games i dont know. also thinking of going to sacramento to meet veronica in stones. from my twitter.
got saved on the BJ bigtime this morning when i won 3 spots of $1000 each while at the max bet.

should quit playing BJ with bitcoin, lost over $1000 there in the course of 5 or so deposits since dec where ive never yet cashed out.

im winning very little in poker this year, beginning jan 1. only $14 per hour overall. for a bit over $3000. the winnings are pretty much solely in pit games or slots.

to be honest i need to go where theyres no gambling, then id be spending time taking care of medical needs the last 3 days felt no pain in the tooth, where i often took advil the previous 7 days, but of course it desperately needs out quickly. id like to go too where its a ton of different choices of games, safe housing nearby which is affordable and luxurious, and not a soul knows who i am.
