Trip review Hilton Grand Vacations

 After staying so long at Vegas hotels without fridges and microwaves such as the Golden Gate to save money u kind of want a hotel room in which u can store milk and warm up food in the microwave so u dont have to leave home whenever u want something to eat. 

Remember the time i paid $3900 for a nice place in Palms Place near the Palms because i was deceived by the pictures, thought i had a full size fridge with a freezer (i didnt) and then regretted taking it for a month? and then losing $9k at BJ there which is why i started getting the offers 6 months or so later and why i have $175 in promo chips every week now?

well i hadnt ever stayed at Hilton Grand vacations before, and there are several of them in the LV area. usually the price is like $1100-1400 a week and some cost a little more than others. so when i seen the lower prices this week, (the golden gate wouldve only been $572 this week including taxes and resort fees and ive never seen it that low). so i took it. yeah i got the Hilton Grand Vacations for only $955 for the week. and i thought that was a good deal. 

however, to get the full size kitchen u need to rent the 1 bedroom suite and thats about $350 more a week and i didnt know that. so my freezer doesnt hold more than like 2 frozen meals and 2 burritos. and i only have a microwave and no stovetop. 

and another thing thats annoying me is my room has connecting doors to another room. i hate that because its always a safety concern. at least the in room safe works. and i think there is extra security on the door besides just the deadbolt which works. 

i wanted Vince to run us by the walmart where ive still got $64 left of a Palms $200 giftcard. But i was asleep when he called and now its too late. so i went to the grocery store inside the timeshare place im at, and they charged me an outrageous price. for what wouldve cost under $25 at walmart i expected it would be about $50 or so. instead they charged me $78..

$13.99 for a frozen dinner of meatloaf thats $3.50-4 at walmart. but had i went to walmart it would be 2 Uber fees of $17 each. 

bought 2 of those and milk and a few other items. certainly wont do that again. 

Its a short walk to westgate and is safer than walking to sahara, since its actually in the westgate parking lot and u arent walking up Paradise. so i guess ill play poker at westgate tonight. I noticed Chris was holding his private game. 

I almost got killed this morning playing live BJ downtown. i was in the game for $6300 and the highest bet i made was 2 hands of $1000 each, but at least i only ended up losing about $700-800 at the worst i was stuck about $4000 after losing the 2 bets of $1000.

once i got stuck so heavy i removed all disguise and played the way a counter would, so im likely discovered now, especially because i moved to the $50 double deck game and only raised the bets on big counts. but i still got my resort fees picked up. 

----a few hours later----

i ended up winning $2100 in Chris game, the one he holds weekly in the sahara and in the westgate. it was a deepstack 2-3 blinds game with a $600 min and no max. i wouldnt have sat with $600 otherwise. but it worked out for me because i was up to around $1100  before the last hand of the night. it was dramaha bomb pot 49. and i scooped with 88933 in my hand and the nut straight. and i cashed out $2700 plus. 

so not only did i not lose the $6300 the pit boss had me in for at the Golden gate, i actually ended up the day $200 ahead, plus another weeks housing, (which meant i won about $1200 for the day). what i thought about 11am would be a disastrous day ended up being a day that increased my roll from $47500 to $47700. 

---a couple days later-- had a huge recovery at the red rock thrusday night after a loss at resorts but tonight (friday) i dropped a few hundred at the poker palace, but lightning is right, i need to go ahead and update the blog. 

some recent big wins

 Can those of u who still read this from 10 or so years ago please post in the comment section below, so I, Lightning, and other readers will see it? id like to know whose still around and who isnt. 

I have often wondered how my life would have been different (by maybe at one time hitting 100k or more all at once) had i hit a really big score at one time if i wouldve played tournaments most of my life instead of cash. i have had really good luck lately in the tournaments Vince has put me in since coming to Vegas in early February. i have cashed in at least 5 out of not more than 10. 2 of them were at southpoint, for $1969 and for $941

the others were at sahara, and the biggest and most recent one was at Resort world poker atlas tour Omaha8 stud8 this past wednesday. People can see or follow in real time as the tourney was going on at pokeratlastour.com Koala from Australia said he looked it up, as there were Poker Atlas employees and dealers updating chip counts periodically. it started at 2pm and didnt end til after 2am, and i eventually made it to 3rd for $3221. and $1400 of it was mine after the tip, and after paying Vince his share. 

Lightning said i should update the blog with the big scores ive hit recently (and my roll is back over 44k). some of it was just a few smaller BJ wins and lucky this morning i walked out of there with a profit of a few hundred instead of a $4800 loss, for the pit boss said he had me logged in for $4800 and i lost a bet of $960 and then made a bet of $1920 divided between more than 1 spot but what im trying to say is there hasnt been any big losses at live BJ lately, like there was the final week i was in Michigan right below i flew to Vegas. (the $5900 at firekeepers and the $4400 at motor city)

i am sure most of u are already well aware of this, but its probably what Lightning said should be discussed here, and im referring to the $10,600 i won on the bingo machine at resort world. the one with 2 boards and one says sun and one says moon. i only know of 2 casinos in vegas that have this exact game and the other casino is circa. im sure theres many others i dont know of. 

i got the big hit (highest in my life) and way more than the small ev the machine might have been worth if the bingo was deeply filled enough and i dont think it likely was. i have lost over $600 on a bingo machine twice since the big hit and i need to stop playing it when minus ev. 

but all the money came from a wheel spin. u know how when u bingo on the center square with the wheel, it always pays the smallest or next smallest value? was i sitting there in shock when it hit the grand for $10,600.

a few math experts on twitter later told me the odds of this happening were higher than being dealt a royal flush on video poker. the vast majority of people whove played that form of bingo have never hit the grand. 

i also bought me a new laptop because this old one is giving out and the mouse stopped working, but its working fine with the mouse i bought for it. in fact i still havent taken the new laptop out of the box but i should just start using it. remember the mouse on my keyboard got screwed up over a year ago and i need to left click everything u right click and right click anything u left click because my old mouse became backwards when the motherboard screwed up. 

----------a week or so later-------------

i shouldve just ended this blog and hit publish a week or so ago but i didnt feel like the blog was big enough. But i think now publishing more often is better. it might be why its died. 

Lightning just returned to Phoenix after a 3 day trip to vegas. And Vince and I went to Laughlin where i blew $2000 on the dealers angels. both vince and i swear the dealers at the riverside cheat i cant ever win there. its the only place they hand shuffle in the poker room. 

also i think its totally unfair how Vince can no longer play poker tournies in the sahara. he a few weeks ago was trying to explain to a dealer how to do his job faster, and the dealer got mad and threw the deck down, told him to do the job and walked off out of the box, and we waited about 10 minutes for a main boss to come in and get us a dealer. but that dealer is still working there today, with no penalty, and yet Vince i was told cant come back. he was always buying me in including in todays tourney. i thought he was only out for that day until we came in today. 

tired, must sleep, am still holding about 44k. not bad when i came here in feb with only 30k. 

i miss the old blog

 well ive been in vegas a month now, and havent updated the blog once. i seem to do better at poker when i focus on earning money instead of on the blog. but i sure do miss a lot of former readers that have long disappeared. i wonder how many of them died without any of us ever knowing? Possibly from the covid vaccine, or maybe another cause. But i can think of about 50 people that used to read it all the time who are long gone. 

i lost interest in updating when i started worrying that anything i might say from the heart will get me in trouble. i tried that once years ago to screw with a lot of my mothers friends on facebook and i got in a lot of trouble for it and had i not been autistic i never wouldve gotten arrested for what i said. But society is scared of people who have emotional issues

it certainly wasnt because they thought i was doing anything wrong, although people tend to think evil of anyone who doesnt bow to the liberal view. and to be dismissive of middle america and their values. actually i still need to find an attorney willing to sue the police that way i wouldnt have to worry about inflation and if i could earn enough in Bidens america for housing. 

i am not doing all that bad here in vegas Being able to play live Blackjack helps me refrain from playing online BJ at high stakes, like i did in TX because no other form of BJ was available. and i seldom ever played double deck in my life but with my current live BJ experience it seems its easier to win in DD. especially on the 3-2 $25 games. i would not be back to 33k from 30k i left detroit with were it not for a few wins.

i also had some very close calls twice in the last week where i couldve lost 2-3k but managed to recover. 

weekends are expensive in vegas though and this is the last friday and saturday ill be able to have comped anywhere in vegas. its almost time to leave. 

i was dead tired when i left the Palms where i went to pick up a $200 gift card. turned out i could use it at walmart but it was an online gift card and a code on my phone. i feel very uncomfortable not having an actual physical card. and u will never believe what i seen a slot hustler doing there

a guy was with an older man (who he later claimed to me was his dad, but i doubt it). does any slot hustler know what a "creator" is?

he was at the ultimate x, showing him how to play it, but only playing each game 1 time, and then switching games, and setting up a huge amount of next hand multipliers on almost everything on the machine. and the old man lost his ass and he decided to go to bed and then he left and then the other guy sat to play about 50 different types of games on Ultimate X that now all suddenly were left with nice multipliers on the next hand. Only someone familiar with Ultimate x will understand. 

and i commented on why the multipliers shouldnt be left and he said oh that was my dad and he always lets me play his multipliers. somehow i dont believe this. 

i was sitting on the 1c triple spin poker multidenominational machine 2 games away. 

i wouldve expected the guy to be homeless and at the bottom of the barrel for doing this on ultimate x, but he had a ton of cash in his pocket that i seen him pull out and put in the machine (actually he only put 1 $100 bill in it to play the hands out) but he certainly wasnt broke

and another thing, a cab driver at the sahara pissed me off the day before on the way back to the golden gate. i only used a cab instead of Uber because i had too much cash on me to feel comfortable at the Uber pickup point near the garage. 

we pulled out of the sahara, and notice the police had LV Blvd blocked off, so hes waiting to uturn around and go out the back way onto paradise to get downtown and i commented i hope the fare still stayed below $26 so i would have the proper change and not have to break $100. (i was pleasently surprised it ended up only being $17.40) 

but then he started asking me where i live if i was a local and whether i had the money to pay for the fare. (as if i would rip him off).

now as everyone reading this blog knows, cab drivers are the lowest of the low more so than other people who work for tips. so i felt very insulted because my integrity cannot be questioned while his is suspect. remember the previous blog where i talked about turning in the $40 i found at the casino in detroit which is why i felt that next days blackjack loss was so unjust. and remember how i missed out on hanging out with the girl. 

to show u how low cab drivers are the other day i had to go from sahara to the stratoshpere and a guy tried to refuse me unless i paid $20 upfront instead of the price on the meter. so i just wouldnt get out and offered to call the taxi authority and wait, but he gave in and took me for the $7.10 on the meter and he still got a small tip. 

were it not for all the xxxxing people who vote demoncrat, it would be safe to walk it. But they dont believe anyone should be prosecuted for violent street crime. 

i told the black guy cabbie to the golden gate (once i reached the valet there) i showed him the $3500 i was carrying, (the guy who thought i hadnt the money to pay) that all he has to do if he doesnt know if he can trust someone is ask them if they voted for Trump. and if they did, that they cant possibly be bad people. and im not even a supporter of Trump in the coming election unless he picks Tulsi as VP. otherwise its RFK. 

i still need to visit my mother too and i am worrying about my ID that expires in august 2024 if i cant get it replaced in Lousiana again like i always have in past years. i should be going there very soon and i wonder if the state laws there have changed?

But u cannot get to Louisiana from las vegas unless u first fly to Dallas. then its a cheap $20-30 amtrak ride. 

i couldnt believe it when there was no line tonight at suns out buns out to buy food here at the casino at 3am i thought it would be wait and they made my hamburger very fast. my only mistake was in not buying 2 of them because im still not entirely full. 

ive been lucky a few times in the $1-3 Pot limit mix game, but they recently changed the game for the worst (time rake and mandatory upfront tip) and they play way too much 2-7 type games. and an expert euro pro sat in it tonight. ive been seeing way too many of them all over vegas lately no matter where i go unless its a locals place and those are even worse for action. 

so how i made $500 in it to recover a loss in the $1-3 NL and an extra $200 or thereabouts besides ill never know. i lost a $400 stack to the expert.

also been lucky a few times in the NL no cap buyin game at the sahara. but ive had some big losses there too. 

were it not for Vince and his assistance with transportation and tournament backing, i would be far worse off. remember i had two huge wins because of him and a nice new coat. and he enabled me to see the doctor that Ray set up the appointment for who got my nails radically reduced to size on my foot that is still getting fungal treatment at home. 

one for $1900 plus and one for $900 plus and of course i had slightly under half of that.
