Well i havent touched anymore video poker in the last couple of nights, but im sure still way below what i had at one time in reno. either $18,000 or in the $16,000s depending on it i should count my deposit or not. which ill never get back unless i become homeless and i dont know for sure ill get it then even though im suppposed to. i never asked about if id need to notify her in advance if i move out because i dont see how i would even know in advance if i would.
its so much cooler in here with the swamp cooler on i dont need the fans no more and this week its going to be cooler outdoors anyway. and for the first time since i came here a month ago ive got plenty of clothes now. bought about 20 more shirts and 2 pants at savers the other day for $74, so now ill have about 30 shirts and 4 pants. i still need to remember to buy another electric razor next time im at walmart so i have a way to cut my own hair at times when needed. bought some books too.
in case anyone doesnt know this Uber and LYFt pool service doesnt exist here, which slightly raises the cost compared to using it in vegas, but at least its not like detroit when its unfeasable.
im not used to playing BJ without a shoe, because using a shoe hides the fact u can count the cards, and usually gets them to go deeper into the deck. so i forgot sometimes i cant double on 9 or after a split on a single deck. im used to resplit double, surrender, any 2 etc. but i still seem to do better with a single deck. i guess its because of the lower house edge. but i cant risk dropping any money even though im still up a few thousand at BJ though ive had a big BJ loss twice. but that doesnt even compare to the $7000 or so lost at video poker over the month, all my upfront expenses of a few thousand, the $1500 i lost back or so at poker, etc. its nice to be where theres 3-2 single deck $5 blackjack because almost none of the rest of u get to play that cheap with that good of payback. name another city where its common.
Got bluffed off a pot tonight by someone u wouldve never expected to buy a pot. Troy the poker shift boss at the Atlantis was playing over there on graveyard as he often does. he makes it $10 on the button and i thought he might just be stealing my blind since he does it often, i had AA and i made it $27 hoping he would have something this time and come over the top but he only called. Flop comes KQ7 and didnt care for the face cards. wouldve preferred a different flop. i bet about $40-50 and he called. turn comes J and put 2 different flush draws up there. i dont like the board at all so i check. mistake? plus i was still up about $150 and i worried id give it back. its much harder to play your best when u are winning instead of when u are desperate to get even because u want to lock up profit and u cant play well if u do this.
he goes allin and i put him on 2 pair or a set and i fold. the J is a really big scare card for a preflop raiser who calls a reraise. so i fold the AA face up and he showed 6-8 offsuit, total nothing. wtf did he call on the flop for?
its hard to play good poker at all times without tilting due to the fact u constantly buyin $40 when u first sit, and then add to it as the night goes along. in about 4-5 hours u usually have $300 or so sitting in front of u, but a lot of the time very little of it is profit. but to be surrounded by idiots with no skill much richer than u, getting massages, food etc. its not easy to keep calm and play your best at all times. even harder is to go home when the game breaks stuck instead of wanting to play something else in the casino. i did better staying off video poker in detroit because there was nothing with a decent payback that i liked there. i also never played video poker in deadwood or laughlin because i could always play a much better game id prefer to play, video BJ instead. reno has always sucked horribly for video BJ.

a big losing session from poker
i found out the reason my landlady was so easy to rent from and must have a hard time finding a tenant for long term is theres no AC in there, only a swamp cooler which hasnt been activated yet for the summer, though she promises to very soon. i came home and the thermometer in the kitchen said 84 when outside google maps said 50. yesterday google said it was 61 outside and when i woke up last night it was 88 in the kitchen ive got multiple fans running throughout the house. no wonder its so cheap and not well over $2000 a month like it would be in most cities, and in some cities like LA, NYC or SF more like $5000. i thought i was getting by cheap at $1400
anyway, i lost $1100 last night and i lost it at poker, not on machines, i actually lost only about $10 on machines, then cashed in my $100 comp dollars for $50 free play which can only be done thrusday mornings. so i ended up gaining over $30 on machines.
there was some action at my poker table last night which surprised me since its so dead in town now that run it up reno has ended. Not sure how Rob vegas poker knew this, but it had the good action he claimed it would. enough good action to cost me over $1100 before the game finally broke about 4am or so.
one hand i had 78 suited and was tired of folding preflop so i called $60 after originally calling $10. the flop comes 77T with 2 spades and i shoved over the looser raisers $60 postflop bet and one guy allin for slightly less. he snap calls with AK offsuit, only 1 spade, no draw. turn river comes runner runner spade spade to beat me. so i lost a few hundred that hand.
another hand i had QQ and i didnt raise preflop due to how often it got raised and i was UTG but this time no one did. flop comes 952 and its checked to the loose guy whose last to act whose been winning all night. he bets $25 and i call. and only i called. theres 2 spades on the board. turn card is 8, putting a second heart out and hes already said he has 2 hearts. i shove allin, a bit of an overbet by a large margin because i think im ahead and i want no tough decisions on the river. river card is Q giving me a set and him the 3rd heart for his flush he had J9 of hearts, which is about what i put him on, a pair and 4 hearts which is why i overbet to shut down drawing hands. and deny them the right odds. i was sure he would call on the turn but hoped he didnt i got the money in as a slight favorite.
3rd and final time before the game broke when it was short, i had 33 and the flop was K52 and 2 hearts. we both checked. turn comes 3 and i bet the pot and he shoves over $300 allin. i call because im not dead and i am ahead of some hands. but he has the wheel and it held up. it was a different guy that time about 20 minutes after the other guy left with a ton of chips.
so those 3 hands were about the only ones i played except a few others but those were the only important ones, but they sure took a ton of chips

found a place to live
if the pictures i posted on twitter can be reprinted here ill try reprinting them here, but i always forget how. i was staying at the extended stay america the last 4 days once my free room nights were used up. i was thinking of getting a certain apartment from a lady who once wrote me 3 years ago with a rental when i placed a "wanted" ad on craigslist. i had Ray give her a call and he found out the information and there was a tenant moving out but he was supposedly not moving out til monday. so i decided to take a room elsewhere for 3 nights friday saturday and sunday. lucky for me, i found a free offer in the emails because i was out of room offers.
but then Ray told me the woman called him back and said the tenant moved out and the place was available and i had to go ahead and check into my free room anyway or else id be charged, (i had to give them my debit card over the phone to hold it) and i really hate reading off the number and 3 digit code because a dishonest employee could use it to steal that way.
so i did BOTH today, paid $2800 upfront to move into the new apartment, on a month to month lease, and checked into the nugget in sparks. and while at the nugget i played a little blackjack. at one point i was over $400 ahead in the live BJ, but when i left the casino i was only up $36. went upstairs and made the room look like it was slept in.
and i still managed to get some sleep too. plus i bought a shit ton of food, pajamas, and miscellaneous objects and clothes.
at least i have a real place to live now and its within walking distance of the Peppermill although id only want to make the walk during daylight hours. i hope she isnt too strict about not finding reasons to give the deposit back whenever i leave town because i gave her an awful lot of money for that deposit.
i ran into Marle here but never spoke to me or her to me. i dont really like or have any interest in meeting woman who wont follow me back on twitter due to my autism and my political beliefs, and she isnt the only woman who never acknowledges tweets she is tagged in. and i wasnt going to sit in the $3-5 and later $5-10 game she was in. for one thing the $3-5 is $300 not $200 here and most match the biggest stack. and the $5-10 is $1000 minimum to the biggest stack instead of $500.
i prefer sitting in the $1-2 NL for $40 and slowly adding to the stack in the first 2-3 hours til i eventually have a few hundred in front of me.
so today i won a little over $70 in the NL and i sat in the $1-2 PLO with $100 and a bunch of people were pissed off the min wasnt $200 because they had tons in front of them. they started quitting and broke the game up because they were rich assholes but i played 6 handed for about 45 minutes. and i ended up winning $154 in the game before it ended. sad thing is when i left the poker room i went out and threw it all away in the big split again, no idea why i cant win on it when the payback is set so high.
so on the way to get an Uber i seen the scarab at 375 credits at 10c each. thats $37.50 a spin. there is multiple of these machines here at the Peppermill. and there was 1 spin played with 2 scarabs in the first row. so i decided to risk it and by the 9th spin i still only had scarabs in rows 1, 4 and 5 so i was expecting a big loss. but on the 10th spin rows 2 and 3 lit up with the other wild lady symbol in it so it ended up paying $1721. so i was thrilled to walk out of the casino up over $1400 for the night again. i got extremely lucky because without those symbols it mightve not paid anything due to the scarabs being in the wrong spots.
i just wish i had the self discipline to not play any video poker, no matter the payback. the only machines worth playing are dealers angels and they dont exist in reno. and im glad i didnt lose in the live BJ at the sparks nugget, though i felt like i did once i gave most of it back away on a good plus count in the final shoe.
at least i feel like coming to reno was a good idea. my roll is still $19,900 if i can count my deposit as part of the roll. am i supposed to include the deposit since its essentially no different than any other bank account due me? i did find out the walmart is now closing at midnight and not reopening til 6am. the only ones open 24 hours are a much more expensive Uber ride away. and my stomach gets getting bigger and bigger because of eating so much icecream and burritos.

scammers in my twitter timeline
well my free nights are up, and even for my last huge loss at blackjack (the one here, i didnt ask a host yet downtown at the silver legacy even though both $1500 losses were on the same night of last thursday the 11th). i didnt ask because i didnt think it would do any good. losing $1500 here (which the pit boss on the graveyard shift verified to me tonight his computers accurately recorded) did not even get me 1 additional free night comped besides my normal 3 nights twice per month i was already using. so i ended up getting charged for sunday (the day that just ended) since i was too tired to check out of my room and wanted to sleep til like 5pm or longer. and this is why i need to wake up by noon today so i can check out. cost me over $61 with taxes and fees.
at least once i take a room somewhere today for a longer period of time ill have access to washing laundry. no more continuing to purchase shirts in gift shops at the casinos highly overpriced and wasting my comps.
i couldnt find any more run it up tourneys i was interested in at the Peppermill after chopping up at the final table into 2nd place for $1787, but they will be going on til april 22 and most of u would probably find something u like. i only wanted to play NL 08 and got lucky to make it so deep.
not only did some woman contact me from some online dating site here in reno recently, then kind of drifted off without me ever finding out exactly why she chose to contact me first, but some girl did on twitter too and she seems to know a few other of my followers too. i doubt shes met anyone personally because somethings just not right about her, and i let Ray look thru my twitter and he felt the same way.

she claimed to be a computer programmer for the slot machines and claimed to have a casino website she wanted to put my blog on and she claimed that i was extremely intelligent. and how happy she was i felt bad about her ex husband leaving her for a stripper, since i felt that would be dumb for a guy to do. she said most men do something but ask for sex pictures and videos because she is a model.
ok here is the 2 scams shes running. i dont think its someone from florida as she claims i think its someone overseas because of the funny way she spells english words. might be some major group of scammers working as a company using a womans picture.
she claims she develops software for slots in which she designs the algorithms and theres something she can send to my phone which would cause the machines to pay out and she wanted to send it to me in exchange for my silence and a commission of any winnings. now im aware doing this would get a person in serious legal trouble and would of course have no interest.
and the second scam is shown below in the following PMs. where does this woman know me from the WEC poker days of old where i used to send Britni and Lorna money? i dont do this no more. its been almost 10 years since i last gave a hooker $100 or so, my two favorites i most remember being Lisa/Kim from ac who sometimes played poker, and Tori in las vegas who i think is no longer in business.
im homeless, and the ONLY difference between me and everyone else on the streets living out of a suitcase is i dont use drugs, alchohol or cigarettes and i have about 10-20k in the bank at all times. But we ALL pay for hotel rooms every night to be indoors.
and im expected to spend $100 to get a stranger a gift card? look at these messages.

as far as my no limit o8 tourney i got lucky i just went all in often and most werent familiar with the NL version of hilow omaha. this one lady in it was really good and took first and i was lucky she accepted less than first paid when she chopped. she had about 350k and i had about 290K i got more than 2nd paid.

i feel like an idiot
maybe i should be glad im still over $20,300 when theres been many times in my life ive had quite a bit less than this, and im still over $3300 in poker winnings since flying to Reno.
But $6000-7000 is a lot to lose on a big split poker 11-9 deuces wild machine, which is supposed to offer 99.96% payback and some of that time i was getting 5x comps. i dont see how i lost so much, although i bet anywhere from 50c per hand to $80, which is way too high.
and only 2 additional free nights (from my original 2 nights) for all that money i lost? thats pathetic.
other than this, this is still the best poker room in the country, and i did get some other comps for something else i complained about non poker related. and the games will only get better once the RUN IT UP tourney series starts up on the 12th to the 22nd.
but they sure dont give out free rooms. the nicer looking casinos never do, if a shithole like Binions gives u a free nite for 10k thru in slot play, its like 100,000 here for a nights stay.
i couldve had my bankroll way up over 25k if i wouldve only played poker. and im going to need that money come Sunday, because thats the day i wont get no more rooms anywhere, so far ive used 17 free nites in a row since coming. all my offers will be gone once i move into my new hotel tomorrow for 3 nites. airbnb isnt nearly as cheap here as it wouldve been in Houston.
im afraid to play blackjack even though im up over $5000 in blackjack for this trip, and the last time i played i quit with only $154 in profits and all the previous few times i played (before that huge video poker loss) i waited til i was up about $400 or more before quitting. i was trying to add at least 2% per day to my roll.
i just know im due to lose and now cant risk any more $2000 drops, which could happen or greater. ill tell u this, i wish i wouldve played blackjack instead of big split poker, regardless of the 99.96 payback. i think i couldve got it over 100-101%.

i felt the most foolish when i lost about $1800 playing that machine, recovered it all back except for about $400 in the $5-10 NL mandatory straddle, when i doubled up AA against QQ, and then returned and lost another $2500 or so that same night. and then the rest was lost 2-3 nights later. first time i played 5-10 NL in ages.
tonight i got a few hundred in poker, but up less than u would think because of losing $160 on the scarab machine with a $37.50 per spin bet. but hey someone left 6 scarabs out on only the 3rd spin. 3 of them on the 2nd row, and 3 on the end row. i think thats more than was left the time i won over 300 on it.
a guy from canada swears he went to school and played lacrosse with my cousin Peter Bigcharles, who is a distant cousin and i dont know at all. i think he was one of the burglars at the time my father died.

blackjack trip report #2 in reno
im glad the pants i bought fit, because i was not in the mood to find a dressing room and to take the time to try them on. and there were very little selection that were size 38 in the waist. its not a popular size. the sign on the pants had a 32 xed out and the number 38 written in its place and was on the isleway where the other 38s were at Burlington coat factory, so i trusted it to be 38. good news was i was relieved to find out today that it was. now i saved my receipt last night and it was irritating to when at the counter paying for the pants, be asked if i wanted to give a phone number or email and when i refused, was told without it i wouldnt be able to exchange without the receipt. but im sick of business spam robo calls.
and at the same time last night besides finally getting a clean pair of pants instead of just having the 1 pair that fits in my carryon suitcase (much smaller size to avoid paying more on plane tickets) than the bigger sized one in Rays house i went to turtle creek with that contains far more clothes that i wish i had now, including the clothes in it. But the fee to have it sent i found out before would be more than the belongings are worth. Ray checked on the fee on a previous trip. i got about 10 shirts with me and about 30 more at his house. its almost time for laundry.
so i had to also deposit some of the money i was carrying in an atm, at least half of it so i wouldnt bet too much at blackjack and have too big of loss and its just not a good idea to carry that much cash when riding city buses at night or Uber for that matter. i didnt want to increase the Uber fare or tell the driver i needed to stop at the atm enroute because i didnt know whod be walking up to me nearby when using the atm at night, and since the Uber driver isnt a friend, its not like id have protection while using the atm.
so i decided to do it during the daylight hours across from the atlantis before i went in to play the mix game and had to wait at first because a guy who looked homeless and black walked up to use it and even though i was first i left anyway without using it til he was long gone. there sure are a shit ton of homeless or desperately broke people in reno. i see them constantly downtown or on virginia street, especially around the bus terminal or between the city bus terminal and the silver legacy 3 blocks away. there was one black guy lugging around a suitcase not more than 50 yards from the atm in front of the grocery store asking people for change. and when i returned i still felt nervous because there was a middle eastern guy just sitting in a car near it, and id preferred he was gone too. and then some lady too got out of her car to use it and waited for me to get done.
but once i put a ton of money in the bank i felt more comfortable. i still feel i have way too much cash but i need enough to work with. i need to start storing it in the cage at the casinos because ill never use room safes heard too many horror stories of the employees stealing from them.
ive been forced to play a lot of single deck blackjack recently to get 3-2 payouts and ive been quite lucky on them. almost had a big loss yesterday but recovered on 2 spots of $900 each. this was before i deposited the money. and is a good reason why i should carry less cash. i had about 17,700 when i arrived in reno and am now at 20,400.
and yesterday i logged into the silver legacy players card and found i had $84 in comps and somehow today without spending any, i had only $64 before i played blackjack and $77 after i played blackjack. the club told me they had no idea how they disappeared and suggested i ask a host who could look deeper into the computers.
i guess i cant save up comps and must spend them instantly on food or half priced freeplay. which i dont really want to do because ill owe $125 on resort fees for my 4 free nights and i was planning to save the comps for it.
plus i found out ive got $75 in matchplay chips at the nugget in sparks 4 times for april from an email where i had to login online to see it. i wonder if i had them for march too and never knew? i couldnt see it from their kiosk where i shouldve seen any offers.
ill probably still be here for most of april. i actually won in the mix game at the atlantis yesterday which is rare for me and i still had to leave early to avoid giving it all back after i caught myself on a bad play for about $250
they no longer have a $5 time charge every 20 minutes which was outrageous as few hands get dealt per dealer down.
now yesterday the casino manager here changed the rules for me so i could play a 6 deck shoe with 3-2 payouts instead of 6 to 5, which is what all their shoes are now. but she remembered my huge loss from years ago, so she told the dealers and her floor supervisors to make the table 3-2 even though she couldnt find a sign for it and the sign said 6-5 the whole time. which was good for me because people would walk up read the sign and walk away, with no clue what good rules they were missing out on. u see here in reno only the single deck is 3-2 and on the single deck u could only double 10 or 11 and no doubling after split. on a shoe u can, or double any 2 cards u wish. so it gave me a chance to play with less people instead of it being so crowded as most tables are.
