still doing well, as september comes to a close.

Well im still winning here in Scottsdale, and as the month of september is coming to an end, I'm still winning over $11,500 from poker this month, which im totally unused to, since the best month i had before coming to scottsdale this year was in the $4000s, and the best month id had in the previous year was 1 month in the $6000s. before this it was many years earlier one month of over $9000.

but i have won enough to now get my roll up to $36,200. and im back to being up about $600-700 overall for blackjack too.

and though im back to being up in the $8-16 by a few hundred is all, and still up over $2000-3000 in the $2-3 NL, the vast majority of the poker winnings were won from buying in for more than i shouldve and in games too high for me. specifically, $3-5 NL with a $981 buyin, and some $500 buyins in $5-10 NL omaha.

which means i wasted a ton of years in my life by not playing higher than $1-2 NL. since this casino doesnt even offer $1-2 NL, i havent played $1-2 NL in quite some time. had i been playing either here (or bigger stakes) i would have had way more money by now than what i have. like everyone else in Scottsdale, id have well over 100k

i wish i could remember hand histories, id have some interesting stories for u. i know ive been congratuled by a $3-5 NL regular for making good calls which won when i just felt like i wasnt folding because i was on tilt til i got unstuck and up over $150.

i still think i should change where im living at, so i wont be woken up or having to renew my room all the table and being disturbed while sleeping. its annoying my whole life to have hotel staff knock on the door, so i should start using airbnb again. this is what is so nice about airbnb.

to tell the truth theres a few other cities id like to go, places where i could commit to longer term because theres multiple casinos. but its hard to leave before i take a big loss. but i am sure it will happen soon. i cant work on the ID and the citizenship until i know ill be at the same address for a long time.

2 remarkable hands in the $3-5 NL

Well i told myself id leave Scottsdale as soon as i dropped a lot of money in one day, which i considered close to $2000 or more. and after losing a little more than $1500 saturday night playing blackjack, i wouldve left this morning except tomorrow morning was my checkout date for my hotel instead of this morning.

no reason to go if im not losing, especially because i was up over $6000 for the month of september for poker, and only poker. thats by far better than any other month ive had in 2019. i only remember one month in which i ever made more than $6000 all from poker, which was also achieved outside denver in 2018 or was it 2017? that was a $9000 month i had once in shreveport a few years back.

so today i was up $168 when i quit the $2-3 NL game, and decided to move to the Omaha $8-16 mix, where though i had 2 days of decent wins this month, ive mostly lost in that game for some reason. i quit because i was once up about $250, and was ready to lock up the win and play something else.

and i briefly increased the $168 i was still up when i moved over to the $8-16 mix to $235, but then as usual no matter how good of low hand i started with, nothing would ever come thru. Limit has far more variance than NL, in that u must wait much longer for pots.

so when i got down to my last $36 and the BB got to me, i got up and quit, not too happy. and Ray sent me a message about how i should try to help my mom out in getting an attorney which she might need not to lose guardianship of my son, because if u see her facebook, she has a fundraiser for an attorney. although i think if the state and that corrupt group home in which Mark is at is determined to end her custody, there really isnt anything an attorney can do to help. but she really wants one if she could find one. she tried legal aid 30 miles away in hutchinson and they said her issue doesnt qualify.

the problem is, ive never had the money to do ANYTHING for others. and how can i when i dont have the money for much needed medical care and housing and citizenship for myself? which desperately must come first before id ever be able to do anything for anything else. Plus i feel my mom must of screwed up somehow bringing me into the USA from canada at the age of 1, which is keeping me from getting the new real ID. without a ton of paperwork i dont understand how to do. people who are institutionalized have others to help with this, i dont see why i cant have an attorney doing this work for me or a good friend as long as i give them the money to do it.

a normal family if they had someone in it as messed up as i am, would be doing everything to help and certainly wouldnt expect something from me when its mainly all her fault the govt lost the paperwork. i feel like she evidently didnt register my birth the right way.

i am upset my mother never remarried due to her strict religious beliefs because i wouldnt grown up in dirt poverty and without a father otherwise. she never even went on a date once he died when i was age 1.

so i sent Ray some not so nice texts and i felt like i should maybe leave this area before i blew back all the winnings. not only was i mad about stress over money, i felt if Ray wouldve only turned himself into a winning poker of at least $500 or so a week, he wouldve never had credit card issues, and i could still been living and traveling with him. i felt he let me down by not being able to achieve this in success and for blowing everything on machines.

anyone should be able to especially with all the poker he played in the old days. but his friends gave up poker for machines and are losers and hooked and i think it influenced him in the wrong way too.

but to return to the story, i took the $981 i had in my back pocket which included what i woke up with and the $36 i was still ahead for the day, which was once about $250 of winnings. and decided to sit in the $3-5 NL and try to double it up, where the buyin is $300-1500

if i lost,id leave and if i won, i could continue to stay, because the poker here would be too good to leave for elsewhere.

so after a while a short fat guy came and sat next to me who i suspected of being Munchkin who runs a podcast but its probably wasnt him. Just like the black guy who offered me money for sex as a juvenile in chicago probably wasnt Obama, though it certainly looked just like him.

and this guy played LOOSE. he raised, reraised and bluffed me twice, once with 7-2 offsuit and shortly thereafter in a bigger pot in which id already had $100 or so committed when he had 10-3 absolutely nothing. eventually i only called him with AQ preflop (was i playing scared?) i shouldnt been, i had immediate position on him. the flop comes QJ9 with 2 to a flush, not mine. he checks, i bet, other guy folds, he check raises me, i fold, and am relieved he was willing to show me 2 pair, or id wondered if i was playing bad all the rest of the night.

a short while later i get QQ and raise preflop to $30 and get reraised to $85 by seat 6 and im in seat 3. Munchkin is in seat 2. i rebet to about $250-320 and he reraises himself allin. i dont like it but feel i must call. on the river with all lower cards on the board i hit the Q for top set. and it wins against his KK, which i only seen since it was on him to show first.

so i got lucky and hit a 2 outer. i shouldve hit and ran but was still only about $1700, so thats only $800 back of the previous days loss. so i kept playing.

about 10 minutes later Munchkin keeps raising and reraising against seat 9 and theres like over $1200 each in the middle and seat 9 wins with AA against @RWM21 on twitters 83 of hearts. this was all before the flop believe it or not.

then he quits and we are still playing 5 handed. the game doesnt break. the asian guy whose newly sat in seat 1 about 20 minutes later, a hand comes up where i raise it preflop to $35 and he bets a lot more. i reraise $500 (max bet in the $3-5 NL) and so does he and he is allin. i have him covered.

my AA holds up against his KK, i thought he had the other AA. then the game breaks and ive got $3046 from my $981 buyin, almost makes me feel like i should play with a bigger chip stack more often. i wonder how much money id have had i done this 5-10 years ago all these last few years.

and of course then i went and lost back $246 in the $8-16 mix again. no idea why i cant beat it. i sure get the money in good at least.

so now my winnings at poker for september are over $8500 in Phoenix so i extended my room 2 more nights after all, and im back to $32800 after paying the next 2 nights up.

A long overdue loss

well i havent lost anything overall in Scottsdale from playing blackjack at the live tables. but i kind of feel like i did now. id had several small wins at blackjack since coming to Phoenix. one for $300 plus, one for $900 plus, and one for $500 plus. and at least one for $40 and for about $150. so today i was up about $215 at poker, and had been up closer to $350. wanted to quit to avoid my streak where my roll was slightly slipping up in value, (before i went to the casino, i was over $32,700). it was going up about $100-200 a day after hotel expenses, food expenses, Uber, etc. i think when i first arrived from Tortoise rock, it was about $26,500.

But i didnt feel that was quite enough, or that i was getting enough hours in. my win rate is supposed to be 10bb per hour and in $2-3 NL, thats $30 per hour and of course im winning only about half this in the long run over the year. so i decided to play BJ one shoe only and quit at the end up maybe like $50-200 more and then id be ready to go to the grocery store, then on home.

but it didnt work. the shoe went pretty bad, though i was up a very small amount in the beginning. by the time i left after losing 2 spots of $425 each, i counted my money away from the table and discovered i was now losing $1468.

i went back in the poker room, and started winning. played a lot of different games besides the $2-3 NL and the $8-16 mix id originally sat in. i won in $3-5 NL. then i won in $2-3 NL omaha high. (of course, that game broke very early and didnt go long as usual). i even sat in $20-40 mix and won. then i sat in the $3-5 NL again, still out $1100 for the day, with the same $425 i quit the $20-40 mix with where id bought in $300.

but by then i was too tired. i was either going to win a big pot or head on home. and i did succeed in one bluff with nothing but 56 offsuit when i raised to $90 preflop over 2 $20 bets or calls. black guy behind me eating food, suddenly calls $90 cold. flop comes KJ3. i check, fully prepared to fold, he checks. turn comes 2. i bet allin, tired of waiting and thought he could have TT or lower. he finally folds and i show the 56. one of the other players noticed and caught my eye

but later on, a guy with his girl watching him for hours makes it $35 in late position after a few limpers. i feel he wants to end the hand. and i call with A3 suited. flop comes 732 and i call. theres a potential flush draw with 2 hearts. my suit is clubs however. turn comes 6. i check he shoves, and now theres 2 flush draws. so many draws and he could have overcards and i think he really wants me to fold. i finally call being tired and wanting to double and ive got 5 outs if im wrong and he has a big pair. turned out he had TT. he won i immediately left and didnt go nowhere but the grocery store and home. bought junk food i shouldnt eat, pumpkin pie, ice cream, tomatoes, etc.

were my hotel not still good for one more night id probably be hitting up the airport in the morning before i drop any more. according to my records, ive still got $31,100 left. probably close to what i had when i flew out of deadwood but dont have a record of that exact amount.

why cant i win in omaha8 stud8 mix?

Slowly growing the roll back up since my $3000 loss at Tortoise rock followed by a $350 Uber fare into scottsdale. these 2 expenses, plus an early loss in scottsdale of over $900 in one session and a weeks hotel expenses upfront, put me a slight bit below $25,000 at the lowest point since much earlier in this year in reno. but as of tonight, its back to $32100. not as much as i had when i left reno for deadwood, but more than i had when i left deadwood for los angeles.

and im still winning over $6000 for the month of september here at Talking stick. of course, i was over that on the 14th too, so its kind of slowed down. early on, i was winning over $500 a day, and i said $150,000 a year is possible here. (and it still is, but only for bigger stakes, and a high enough roll to win $500+ per day, all 365 days a year on average). theres high enough stakes here where even winning $1000 a day might be possible.

but what i dont like is HOW i won the money. the other day, i had to win $300 at blackjack (live in the pit) to get back to being up for the night. and today, i had to win $900 at blackjack to get back to being $600 up for the day. yes its good blackjack rules and this table was located inside of the poker room. but i dont want to be getting my winnings from blackjack instead of poker because overall i dont often win at blackjack, and its not stable and reliable.

ive won at most of the games offered in this poker room. i dont have the money for the $20-40 mix stud big O and thats a weird type of stud with discards so i havent sat in it. ive won in the $2-3 NL, the $3-5 NL with a $1500 maximum buyin instead of the smaller games $600 max buyin, and ive won in the $10-500 $5-10 blinds omaha high only. im up about $2000 in the $5-10 NL omaha. and the rare times the $3-300 $100-600 buyin smaller stakes $2-3 blinds omaha high has went, (very seldom) im up over $700 in it too. so ive had multiple winning sessions at omaha high, and not even one losing session.

u would think that would cause me to not be afraid to sit with $500, but i cannot without a roll of $50,000, i like to have at least 200 buyins (which is $20k for the games i buyin $100 in). and i just cant bring myself to sit down with only 64 buyins of $500. unless im stuck of course and have no other choice not to to get even.

but there is one game i cannot win at under any circumstances, and its pissing me off because i used to win in both stud games and omaha games small amounts many years ago before i started playing holdem. when i used to win about $40-50 per day and lived in rooming houses under $100 a week. and this game is omaha8 stud8 $8-16 mix.

i had ONE winning session where i won $652. and one $28 winning session where i was up $300. and about 3-5 losing sessions of a few hundred each. overall im down $400-500. maybe i should quit playing it, but when i get up $100-200 in NL or start to give it back, or feel im going on tilt, i like to get up and play a different game so i can reset with $80 minimum again.

i hadnt played stud so long except in mix games, and usually not high low stud. this is the game Britni and i used to play on pokerstars at very low stakes and lorna and i played online party poker and stars. and i guarantee u im not playing it bad. theres a kill pot and the guy with K high had to post the $12 kill. everyone folds to me and ive got an ace up and 58 underneath so i raise. he calls with nothing but K7and one other card (not sure which was his river card, but he had no pair). on 4th street he pairs the 7. and of course on 7th street he scoops the pot without ever improving the pair of 7s he picks up on 4th street. no matter what comment anyone might make, i dont think my raise was bad. hes forced in there and odds are hes got nothing, which was correct at the time i raised.

and in the omaha i got AK23, raise preflop one of the callers had Q9T6 with 3 diamonds. flop comes AK5 i bet the flop, the turn, and on the river i check when a third diamond hits and theres still no low. i missed the nut low draw, the nut full house draw, and he wins with a flush. there was no flush draw on the flop, the 2nd diamond didnt come til the turn. so i dont see how im playing bad.

in stud8 im folding hands like 872 preflop and 556 except under the right rare circumstances when most play those hands no matter what and even much worse. so why am i losing? variance? do i need like 20 sessions to have a fair test? or am i not a limit player since i seldom play limit no more and should just give up the ghost and never play it again?

also there was an asian guy taking a picture of me the other day named alfred. i wonder if he knows wec? he eventually bought me lunch at my table and mentioned he knew of me, but i lost my ass both days when he sat. not to him though. i think its better if no one knows who i am, makes it easier to win. this is why i dont advertise who i am at the tables. id swear the one guy Brian in my omaha split game knows me from somewhere though. or Jan the dealer always playing in the omaha game and was discussing her time with card player cruises too looks like someone whose picture used to be in card player magazine. i used to read it religiously when it was a much bigger magazine but then quit years ago.

the things that really matter in life

when people get old, they worry about different things than when they were young. all i care about anymore is to have a place indoors to sleep thats stable where i dont have to keep moving and renewing hotels all the time. this is why i feel like i shouldve stayed in deadwood, no matter the fact the poker sucked most of the time, and i couldnt play the type of poker i wanted. or that i was losing a lot of money on the VBJ at times, (also won a lot some of the time). i couldve avoided pissing off an airbnb landlord, and had a stable place for the entire winter for only $875 a month. i sure aint getting that price now. im paying about $450-700 a week most of the time here in scottsdale depending on how nice of a place im staying and how close to Talking stick, and as it gets closer to winter, the price will only continue to increase.

this is why i lived with Ray so many times. stability in where im going to sleep every night, and a place to keep my things. homelessness gets old when u are old. and the other thing u worry about is your health. i have no idea how someone makes a doctors appointment for an office visit without having to go to an urgent care place, where they dont care about u and just want u gone. but my stomach is so fat i dont know if its belly fat or a serious tumor growing inside of there. it worries me, but theres nothing i can do about it because all my time has to be spent either sleeping or earning money so i have enough to survive, at least til im back to my 38k again.

Yet the poker is so easy to win here in scottsdale, i cant easily leave the area because if i do, im missing out on well over $140,000 a year. its not quite halfway thru the month of september, and i just passed the $6000 mark in poker winnings so far for september. im still at $56 per hour for over 100 hours of play in september. ive never averaged over $56 per hour for all limits and games combined in my life, certainly not with shortstacking involved and a lot of stud8 and omaha8

A lot of cartel money and coyote money flows heavily thru the Phoenix area since the dismissal of our good friend we all admired so much for how he ran things. (sheriff Joe arpaio). unless its just the blessings of God over the way Trump has been handling the economy. i think its due to the way he supports Israel, for its a well known truth God blesses people and countries who stand by Israel.

ive never seen this kind of wealth in poker rooms in the lowest of stakes NL games, and im rarely at a table where most of the field doesnt have well over the $600 max buyin in front of them, and many with a lot of green chips. today the poker room for some reason hosted well more $40-80 $75-150 and $100-200 mix games than normal. maybe because a charity tourney was taking place this evening. so it brought out the people who didnt care about money.

and this is why, when u have earned the money u need to earn for the day, u no longer feel like playing poker. u see its only a means of income, not an enjoyable activity, and people only do it because it pays so much better than the alternative, which is an $9 an hour job at walmart or mc donalds or govt assistance. so once u are up a few hundred u dont want to sit there and keep playing when emotionally u feel that the ONLY thing that could happen is that u will lose back all of your winnings. i left my NL table when i got called for $8-16 OE mix and up $135. i sat with the $80 minimum in the OE and very soon i suddenly had $310 in front of me. and this is where i messed up by not quitting. i hate to hit and run because i feel a winning player shouldnt have to since its a limit game and the other day i won $652 before i left the game. but i eventually got down to only being up $28 and i quit upset with myself not quitting sooner. for a long time, i never got one pot.

sat back down in the $100 min buyin $2-3 NL game. and after about 50 minutes i finally won a good sized pot with AA and had $298 in front of me. yet i still felt it was too early to leave, id only been there less than 4 hours. and eventually i left with only $200 when i lost a big hand. was lucky to still be up anything at all. thats when i got out and went home still up $253 for the day. not nearly as much as the $500 a day ive been averaging but still enough to bring my bankroll back to $30,900

when i was 19, i had radically different perspectives on money, the bankroll needed to survive, and the cost of living expenses. and how i spent my money. often my roll was never above $1000 or $2000, remember the story of my mom not believing Vince when he told her i had over $2000 because she had never known me to have so much. i inherited $1900 from the canadian government when i turned 19 (the money they held for me due to my mother suing the man who killed my dad). it was $500 and had earned interest for many years which is why it was now $1900. and do u know what i did when i received the money? i spent the entire thing on hookers within a week. this was in Toledo ohio, and Ray knew me at the time from the poker games.

i lost interest in women years ago, or at least in giving them money. WEC and maybe others will remember Britni and Lorna. this is why all the years i wasted age 25-35 on pokerstars and other online sites i never had money. i kept giving it away instead of warehousing it like i do now. it takes getting old to discover money is the most important thing in life and not your relationships with others. and without money, u cannot survive and function in life. i still wish i could have the company of women or hookers, since i used to be one myself when i was ages 17-20. not in the way that u think, since im not gay and couldnt ever bring myself to give blowjobs. but since everyone who is homosexual and queer prefers sex with kids to sex with adults (and its how people get fucked up enough to turn gay) when i ran away from home a few times guys would always offer me money if i let them suck me off and this was primarily guys in their 60s and 70s. and i wasnt even 18..

lightning has for years kept a secret for me at least 8 years or longer of how when i was homeless in chicago about the time Obama was in college or a senator, and how Obama used to mess around in their gay community, how Obama once offered me $25 for sex in a old run down tenement hotel up the street from Pacific garden mission, where they share the gospel and love of Jesus Christ to the homeless. it scared me and made me quite uncomfortable what he wanted me to do. this was about 20 years before he was president.

well i could talk forever of the old days and how much better my life has come since then. but unless i spent a year in the company of all this rich folks money in scottsdale, ill never get mine up to where im comfortable with $500 buyins so i can play in some of these good games way too high for me. i can only imagine how many good players are making $1000 a day here in Talking stick, its weird wec spends so little time here. even Benny, Dustin, and Count everything could probably win good money in the games here. i couldve been very rich had i not wasted all my money trying to buy love when i was young enough to still enjoy it. took me til i was over 40 to start storing up money to where my roll slowly started being over 10k most of the time, and now finally over 20k most of the time. still remember so vividly when it was often below 4k and worry about those days returning day and night, and is why im so nitty involving tips, and get so mad when the dealer doesnt remind me to wait for the BB to pass. and not straddling or buying in for more than the minimum.

LARGE SIZED wins

well it seems like no matter how much money i win here in Scottsdale im still not getting anywhere. i had $38,000 once in deadwood. i had between $30 and $30,500 when i left deadwood and flew to Los Angeles. and i once was down to $24,900. this was after id lost $3000 at tortoise rock playing both video BJ and live BJ. and after id paid $350 on an Uber to Scottsdale, $130 on an Uber to twentynine palms from lake elsinore, and $90 on an Uber to lake elsinore from Los angeles. and a lot of hotels, such as a weeks worth of lodging in scottsdale, etc. im still only at $29,200 but thats a lot better than $24,900

the hotel im at tonight is a better (and higher priced hotel) but a much better fridge, and safer being its indoors instead of outdoors. only issue is its a more expensive Uber ride to the casino. i will later discuss on trip advisor about how Priceline lied and deceived me. i went to where u dont see the name of the hotel til after u book, although i had reason to believe it was the Hampton right by the casino within a 2 block walk and a free ride. it wasnt.

Priceline has done this many times, listing a hotel as a "casino hotel" when it isnt. But this hotel is over 4 miles away, and my last hotel was only 1.9 miles from the casino, much less with Uber. $7-8 instead of $11.

i know i should be booking a hotel a month at a time, or at least a week at a time, but i never know how well ill do in the casino, if ill take a big loss too much for me all on the same day, and i dont want to risk committing if i wont be around. id like to return to detroit but im winning way too much here to leave, and even Ray might win if he came. so far for the month of September im at $4000 plus in profits at poker for september, (but even then im only at $29,200 after expenses). this isnt even back what i left deadwood with, and is why i feel im getting nowhere. even though i won $4000 plus within the first 10 days of the month which is $12,000 per month, $144,000 per year if i spent the entire year in Phoenix. considering i play low stakes and often only buyin for $100, though i will buyin for the $600 max if im martingaling or a higher stakes game, such as my $500 $10 to $500 $5-10 blinds omaha high game where i turned my $500 into $1450 monday afternoon. they didnt like me hitting and running, but if they dont like it, lower the buyin so its not a neccessity.

everyone else in scottsdale is insanely rich. u can see from the others buyins in ALL the games. no one within 100 miles of Phoenix lives in poverty or has less than $100,000 in their checking account, with the sole exception of me. all the elderly here recieve at least 1 million a year from social security payments they get the first of every month.

no other city in the country has people close to having this kind of money. certainly not reno, detroit, las vegas, or many other cities i played in. other cities, some buyin for $50. here the buyin is $100-600 for both $2-3 omaha and $2-3 NL holdem. and most buyin for the maximum or maybe $500, certainly not the minimum with the exception of me of course when i first sit and havent gotten stuck enough yet to buyin bigger.

if i stayed here an entire year, id win well over 100k for the year and would have a bankroll well over 100k myself within a years time. if im averaging close to $500 a day in winnings now, think of how much per day id be winning with much bigger buyins. there was a $25-500 NL omaha game here today with a minimum buyin of $2500 and NO maximum. a smart person would consider staking me in it and securing me steady housing in their name.

i never thought it was possible til i came to Phoenix, but if u have never played poker here, u should check out for yourself how loose the games are and how wide the choice of games are. the room is HUGE. tonight i even managed to win $652 in the $8-16 omaha8 stud8 mix game. thats the same game i lost over $400 in the day before and had to move to the other much higher stakes omaha high game to get it back.

the $3-300 omaha game high only just doesnt go enough. it only lasted about 2 hours today, although i did manage to win $158 in it. wasnt til i was on my 3rd $100 buyin though.

to tell u how loose it was, the hand i lost, i had AAJT and the caller of my allin preflop had KT63 of various suits. he won with 2 pair.

the hand i won i had TJJK double suited, and before it got to me, 2 others had already bet $100 preflop. i shoved and 4 of us went to the flop, and 3 to the river. board J5345 i needed that 5, one of the raisers hit a wheel on the turn.

talking stick casino

i've probably spent more time this year playing more than just $1-2 NL (since casinos have offered NL in the mid 2000s) than in any previous year. although its still the game i play the most often. but its NOT increasing my hourly, my hourly is only about $13 an hour this year for all limits combined, at about $21,000 so far for 2019. i think its just been a low year overall, and i also think my $1-2 NL rate has gone way down. (a lot less than the overall rate of $13).

ill never feel i can afford to play higher though. i thought i would when i had over $20,000. then i thought i would when i had over $30,000 but everytime my roll gets that high, things like high expenses and sometimes losses outside of poker reduce it back down so rapidly i never feel like its enough to do anything except buyin for $100 or less.

and when i get ahead about $200 and dont quit, and lose a big pot and become stuck i feel like such an idiot for not hitting and running. and i feel like the other players are thinking im an idiot for not leaving too. though if i do, they get annoyed.

i was $195 up tonight and felt like leaving the $3-300 holdem game to return to the $3-300 omaha game. my hour was up long ago and i couldve sat back down with $100. But i didnt quit with the $295 id ran my $100 buyin up to. as soon as i first sat down, i got QQ within the first few hands and my $12 raise got 6 callers. thought i had no shot with so many in. but on a flop of J52, i bet allin and everyone folded. so i was already up to $152. then i continued to win from there. as always i dont remember most of the hands i won. Only the hand i lost. at the end, i had AA and raised to $17 preflop and got 2 callers. flop comes J63 with 2 spades and i dont have the ace of spades. i bet $55 and one guy called. turn comes offsuit K. i go allin for over $200 and he calls me so fast i worry im beat. turns out all he has is AT of spades for a spade draw and a gut shot draw. he hits the Q on the river for the straight.

except for one table i played at the other day and probably shouldve tried to transfer from, the games in scottsdale are still looser than in most other cities around the country. multiple callers preflop with hands theyre supposed to fold. i think the fact the minimum buy is so high at $100 and the larger sized blinds of $2-3 might have something to do with it plus the fact the maximum buyin is also higher at $600.

i did the right thing in quitting the omaha game once id ran my buyins up to $688. i was in for $440 total, $100, $120 and $220. i was briefly up about $40 one other time, but $40 isnt enough to hit and run. $240+ is, especially when $688 is way more to have in front of me than im comfortable with. u should never put more than 1% of your net worth on the table, although at times its necessary to have over $250 in front of me, but i mean as a general rule. those guys famous in poker who say 5% or 10% thats way too high if u have no other income car credit or stable address. i seriously become way too stressed out once its starts getting close to 3%, makes it very difficult to think only about the most EV play.

as wealthy as all the other players in that game were, many old retired rich people and young poker professionals, im sure the $1500 or more most of them had in front of them off their $600 maximum buyin was also not more than 1% of their net worth. its no wonder most of them dont see how $8 every half hour in time charges hurts them unless the game is quite shorthanded.

what i didnt like is the softplay forms of collusion among the regulars. i wouldnt object if they were shortstacked, but the fact theyre deepstacked is what makes it morally wrong. they dont want to risk big pots against each other but only when theyre against an unknown or multi way action. got tired of 2 always checking it down when they were the only ones in the pot, yet to say anything against her and him makes me look to be the bad guy, because the others dont understand why its wrong

Being able to call a $300 maximum bet without having to worry about any more money being bet between then and the river changes the play of the game so much, i dont see why the others at the table dont understand why this isnt a type of cheating and so bad for the game. then i found a guy trying to screw me by leaving $2 in front of him when he called my $300 bet and only had about $225 in chips and i had to ask for the $2 and another guy at the other end of the table thought i was making an issue over nothing. How is this any different than say if the guy had taken a few dollars off the table and sat it on his tray? or if he reached in his pocket and put another $2 worth of chips into the game? i dont see any difference. just because its $2 and the others thought it okay, lets say next time its $8?

and then later on when i finally left the NL game to return to the omaha, because it showed multiple open seats, by the time i walk up they tell me theyd just changed the game for a round of high and a round of big 0 to which i said thats fine. but i lose interest once i heard they also changed the stakes to $5-10 $500 minimum buyin. thats a huge step up from $100 minimum $3-300. i wish the $3-300 players could do a round of high and a round of split pot too. it was 4 of them and another guy was packing up his stuff and leaving.

that game seems to break up early. surprisingly enough the $8-16 OE omaha stud8 mix breaks up early too. only the holdem games and the $20-40 mix and higher go more hours. and its weird how so many people still exist who play $20-40 limit when its not even real poker, or beatable over the long run.

how can someone have that kind of money, and prefer limit to no limit higher stakes game? u cant protect your hand by betting since u cant bluff, and bluffing your entire stack is what makes a game poker. even younger guys sit in $20-40 not just the old guys u would think. only logical reason to play limit is if u are a $2-4 player and cannot afford to sit with more than $40

california road trip

well the last few days have been interesting at least if not very profitable. once i flew out of deadwood, a lot of poker was played in the state of california til i left california earlier today. and eventually, i found some live blackjack and some video blackjack in california too, not quite as good as the one in deadwood. (it showed the shuffle, but only let u bet from 1-33 units per spot instead of 1-100 units per spot and only had 3 spots instead of 5. there was a $3 minimum bet).

i wouldnt have played it so long, but the poker game on one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year in most places around the country didnt start til 8pm. who wouldve knew ahead of time? and i didnt want to leave the area because id already paid for my hotel for the night the day before.

and i didnt really play an ainsworth machine and lose $1600 i just wanted to know if thats likely or possible. i played it for about an hour and lost $65 raising the meter from about 388.78 to 399.30 then i quit. thought maybe it might actually need to be higher to be worth it as so many spins were paying nothing the base game seemed extremely low.

the money was lost slightly over half on live $10-300 blackjack 6 deck paying 3-2. no ante at this indian casino.

originally left the commerce to go play omaha in lake elsinore but i was tired and just wanted to check in and sleep. found out i couldnt do that, turns out theyd heard of my arrest and blog comments and had banned me in my absence when they heard of them about 2 years since id last been there and id known nothing of it so i was a little irritated id went there for nothing. so i took an uber to 29palms.

yeah id wanted to play in a good omaha game, but when i tried a good omaha game at commerce $100-400 buyin, i lost my $100 original buyin, then another $137, then $200, and finally the last $400 but hey, that last $400 was briefly back to $951 after a couple good pots before it went to pieces. this one guy wouldnt stop winning no matter what, he had about 10x times his $400 buyin or more and had busted multiple players with very weak hands. because he kept calling preflop and hitting. busted me when i had aa95 with a flush draw on a flop of 88J and he had JJxx i forgot the other 2 cards.

same guy who when i flopped 777aa, he won with 8888 when the turn and river went runner runner 88 and since i had 77 i thought the double paired board lowered his chances of a boat.

i got to play omaha finally (too tired the night before to play more than a few minutes) after playing stud all day and stuck $612 when the plo started. had the floor started it with 9-10 names on the list instead of waiting for 11 or 12, i wouldve been stuck only about $200 in the $20-40 stud but most was lost in the final 30 minutes.

now the day before i won $1500-1600 in the $20-40 stud and id won the day before that too, where i made $330. that was the day i decided to move my hotel to commerce even though id paid $137 a night thru priceline instead of the other hotel which id paid $85. the reason i checked out of commerce was i couldnt renew the room friday, the price had went way up even thru priceline to over $220 with taxes and fees. the price thru the front desk was even more.

i wouldve been far better off flying to detroit and paying the higher price with 3-4 connections to fly out that night, or just waiting til the next day to leave deadwood where i couldve flown to detroit for less, but id lost about $7000 back off my $38k roll and just wanted to get away and back to some good poker. was tired of only video bj to play, nothing else. but i wanted to leave immediately instead of waiting was worried id blow more money on blackjack. ive no idea if i got my september mailer

i left so i could have over 30k still for good poker. but now im down to 26k its going down way too fast on uber long distance trips, hotels at a much higher cost, and some bad luck recently on various forms of gambling.

and now this guy in south dakota whose disappointed i moved out when id promised to pay for another month several weeks earlier will probably give me a poor review on airbnb. were i not worried id lost $7000 in the last week or so mostly from video blackjack it wouldve been crazy to leave, since my new month wouldve only been $825 for the entire month for a place of all to myself to live. a nice house too.
