well i didnt want to lose anymore money on blackjack in downtown vegas, so i finally left and went to Rays house while i was still above 30k, but above it by very little, seeing as i had over 41k less than a week before. after my 2nd $4000-5000 loss at live blackjack within the same week between the golden gate and the D casinos in downtown vegas, i was worried id lose another $10,000 and go from 30k to 20k. and there was a big concert coming into town called Lost wages. and because of it all the cheaper hotels normally $79-99 on a weekend were about $200-250 and up for that weekend. and everything downtown was sold out and overbooked. so my host who told me any other time (or other weekend would be fine) after id gotten 3 free nites at the golden gate and 2 more free nites at the d, though she was willing to give me more free nights there just werent any rooms available. although she tried, she asked the front desk to let her know if anyone cancelled their reservations. But they were already 20% overbooked, so a lot of people thinking theyd have rooms that weekend were going to be in for some very bad news.
i wonder what makes that concert so important and terribly busy? its rare the prices go up that much on the weekend.
i did have some wins in live blackjack too. one for $1100 at the golden gate, and one for $900 at the longhorn. but i also lost over $2500 on the video blackjack in the el cortez. and it shuffles every hand though it still pays 3-2. and i won a few times at poker, but i had one bad day at southpoint where i lost over $500 in poker between $2-3NL and $1-2 NL.
so i flew to detroit and in the past 5 days ive been here, ive essentially gained nothing. im about $600 worse than when i got here, because of helping Ray out buying him into the games. and food and gas etc. i would be ahead quite a bit except for one day i lost $1400 in pot limit omaha. most of the times i won $300 or so. but both me and him have not touched any machines or live blackjack this week. and the good news is his car is in good shape. this was written last night, and i got back another $300 today too.
at least im just playing poker and nothing else, hopefully things will go ok over the long run. my mother is resending to him the stuff she thinks will help me get proof of citizenship.

Poor Judgement and bad decisions costing me a boatload of moolah.
tonight being that i was down to only $35900 left because id played too much blackjack and video BJ on poor machines (at least $2000 worth between the elcortez and the orleans) i decided to go play poker. actually id still like to play some more live BJ, and i did for a little bit tonight, winning $200 in the golden gate twice, and losing $150 at southpoint once. but the vbj lately has killed me since theres no good machines in vegas. and the video poker. thats cost me a few hundred too. and i never did get back the cell phone i lost at samstown. i guess i should return there to play and see if its found yet.
and though my host here is willing to extend my room for another 2-3 nights as much as i lost the other day, theyll all sold out due to some concert this weekend called lost wages. which keeps her from it, though she offered to let me know if someone canceles their reservation last minute.
yeah i played $2-3 NL at southpoint tonight and though at times it could be loose due to poker grump sitting in the game (guy looked just like him wish id snapped a picture) and the black guy whose a local on my immediate left for a little while, i couldnt win. id flop 75 suited on a flop of 457 and lose to 444. and i had the ace high nut flush draw 4 times and missed every one. the biggest loss was when i had 9T suited and the flop came 478 giving me the open end straight flush draw with 2 overcards we got all the money in on the flop and the other player with his 56 didnt like the runner runner 88 anymore than i did.
then i started shoving way too loose, trying to get the loose players i knew were bluffing out of the pot. and i went broke for my last $200 or so with J5 offsuit preflop allin.
at south point u need to use 2 different players cards one in slots and one in poker. the poker card doesnt work on the video machines. i actually won $14 on the big split machine there.
and i won $900 plus playing live BJ in the longhorn, where they have good rules, but only deal out 50-60% of the shoe. but of course it all disappeared right back in the el c video BJ before i got to my room. and i wasted money for Lyft again, which ive done thousands of times because i didnt want to walk to the bus stop across the street when everyone homeless and broke seen me cash out over $1500 when i quit the Bj table.
id originally walked there from samstown right after filing a report on my lost iphone, which i think someone took at the poker table, but then again, now im wondering if i left it in the bathroom. i cant even delete it using find my iphone because id shut off service or vince did over a month prior. and i cant get verified by apple ID because there sending it to my old number the text i must enter to verify its me. so its a several days process to re verify.
the guy running samstown at night knows me and his boss is friends with AKgal, and he is trying to get a 50c50c50c three blinds PLO going if anyone is interested in setting up a date. their 50c $1 NL goes regularly with a good promotion at night. any aces full or better first one pays $200 or close to it. varies a little. if even 3-4 of us show he will let us play short.
and i found Mark working in westgate too when i went there from the stratosphere. it also has some decent promotions adding $6 or so an hour to the winrate but the game i wasnt winning in. lost $232 and quit frustrated. and thats the night i went to golden gate, checked into my 3 free nites and lost over $4000 that same night on the live tables. had vince bring me all my stuff and food from his house where id been staying. now i might need that option again, if i dont fly out of town within the next 24 hours. for theres nothing at all hardly to rent this weekend and its not cheap.
and im sure my KKK55 will not hold up as one of the top 3 high hands of october at the poker palace in NLV, though i did win $200 in fridays nights game.
i wonder how many people think im a democrat now whove always known me as republican simply because ive been wearing a tulsi gabbard 2020 tshirt which cost me a $25 donation? first time ive ever donated to a democrat, but i like what she stands for, if not some of her positions i disagree with. shes slightly more to the center than the others, and more sensible. no more middle east wars for sure. and to accept those of the other party and include them in legislation.

trip report. Prescott, Laughlin, vegas, etc.
when i left scottsdale for las vegas, i took multiple Lyfts and made multiple trips and as usual, the cost totaled up to quite a lot, but i didnt care as i was still winning. id been winning for so long id forgotten how easy it is to lose. even in Prescott, where i discovered theres not really nothing worth playing and the NL seldom goes (never played any poker there) i still won over $300 on a $10-250 blackjack game that wasnt the best game. and it was Prescott where i found the Bison machine at $390.47 and eventually won $160 on that too before it hit at $396.66 had it went all the way to the top id probably lost.
and then i played the VBJ at the Pioneer in Laughlin and got thursday and friday and saturday free. i went over to the Riverside and played $1-2 NL friday night there just like the golden Nugget in vegas, theres no cap on the buyin. now granted, the average stack size is smaller in laughlin, a lot of people buyin no more than $100 or $200. but one guy had over $1200 in front of him and another guy had over $500. id taken several bad beats, both times i had pocket kings, and both times id gotten beat by a very loose preflop call for a decent amount of money by two clubs. one with J7 and once with Q7. once the flop came all low cards when i had KK and nothing was higher than a jack. the other time 3 clubs came and my KK was an overpair and i had the king of clubs. i was originally in the must move game (the 2nd NL table always is) and id just got moved to the main game.
so i rebought $3000 thinking the biggest stack had a lot more than he actually had. (only $1200) and it turns out green and black chips dont play here, so they gave me all red. i bought too much.
i eventually won some hands, when AJ, who owns the fatburgers inside the riverside and is well known here, tried to bluff me with 45 of clubs into my AA when he flopped 4 clubs and the flop came 9TJ with 2 clubs. and as usual, a third club hits the turn. but this time a 4th club hit the river and i had the ace of clubs for the win. he bet $513 on the flop all in and though it was over twice the size of the pot, i still had to call.
gave the dealer $13 and i dont think he even saw, even though he had bitched once earlier when i won a pot of a few hundred and gave the dealer $2, (he thought it shouldve been more). he left immediately and was standing up as the dealer was pushing me the pot.
ive done good at $1-2 NL ever since i left scottsdale where i did well in a slightly bigger NL game. on saturday i was that same NL game with $100 buyin and eventually quit the game with $1383.
although i had one big loss on the VBJ friday night i was still slightly up overall. but i did lose a bunch of money on a high stakes VP machine tonight in vegas. i lost over $1900, hope i can get some rooms out of it but the host office had closed for the night.
i have some other things id like to do with some of this money while i have a chance before it disappears thats important to get done, but im going to be consulting with Ray and Vince first and ill need them to talk to someone for me. dont worry im still holding onto over $37k. but everytime im right close to 40k (was less than $300 from it twice) i take some kind of big loss.
wrote a day or two earlier. since then ive won a little more at live blackjack and at poker. so now im back to $39,900 was going to wait til publish til Vince and i had a chance to speak with someone, but its been too long without a post.

Queen Nine of spades
well im off to a good start for the month of october. 1 day into the month, and over $1000 ahead for the month. could possibly surpass the september total of over $10,000. to do it every month over the long term, id have to spend almost all my time in the much higher limits and deeper buyins though. so it wont happen anytime soon til i get my roll over 50k.
i started off today playing $5-10 NL omaha. why? because there was no seats open elsewhere and i was tired of waiting, and besides, even after yesterdays $600+ win, i was still quite a bit off my high water mark of $36,200 in Scottsdale after dropping $1475 a couple early mornings ago in the $3-5 NL and $2-3 NL.
in fact i helped the game start up 4 handed, which i really shouldnt due to the high variance and the fact i dont like buying in $500. it couldve went really bad for me that shorthanded. good news is players arrived fairly quickly, and it was only 4 handed for about 30 minutes. once another guy or 2 sat it filled right up.
i lost the $500 (and the $21 in oddball change i added to my stack once to get rid of when down to about $320 left). but eventually i lost an allin and rebought $600 more. the action player was in seat 8, i was in seat 3. and he was already stuck about $6000 when the following hand occured. seat 7, put $100 dark UTG preflop. seat 8 put $500 dark. (u arent allowed to live straddle that much from those positions or at all). it folded to me, with still a few people to act behind. i was already out over $521 mind u and by then i was ready to take risks, and was praying i wouldnt lose the entire $4000+ i had in my back pocket or on the table combined.
i looked down and seen A6 spades, Q9 of clubs. and wouldve folded but thats better than a random blind hand is it not? and i thought with my extremely tight image and history of hitting and running possibly no one else would call. but i ended up getting 2 callers. i forgot the board, but i had a flush draw which never got there, and made aces on the river as my one and only pair. it beat a guy who held 9988 and i never seen the hand the fish was holding.
so my $570 shove allin preflop worked for a 3 way triple up along with the other dead $100 etc. and i left the game once the BB got back to me. (is waiting for the BB to get back to u even a good idea when u are playing for stakes u cant afford? i couldve lost it all had i got a hand to play).
for those of u who say i shouldnt play for stakes i cant afford, it wasnt til after i won that pot and got way ahead did they suddenly become "stakes i cant afford". earlier i was behind, which means it wouldnt negatively affected my game.
and so i moved to the $2-3 NL once it opened later, with a short break on a video poker machine, where i won $17. triple spin poker and i hate the fact u cant martingale as much as u want with it being either 5c demomination or 10c. id like a 1c 2c 5c 10c 25c 50c $1 option. i wonder which casino offers the widest martingaling spread on triple spin poker?
i won a monster hand with AQ in which i flopped a boat during a splash pot, and ive been lucky to win multiple splash pots this past month plus two different times got paid on the football promotion
and then the very next hand won another big pot with AQ when i flopped top 2 and it held up. i was in for my 2nd buyin and $224 total, and eventually cashed out over $700 when i gave back $100 on the final hand or more.
i had the Q9 of spades and made it $15 preflop in late position and i dont know why i did because i had seen an exposed Q a split second too late as i was raising someone had mucked. one guy called.
flop comes 449 and i had a feeling the caller had either a better kicker a four, or a bigger pair or a flush draw since there were 2 clubs. he seemed to want to reraise preflop so im thinking maybe a bigger pair. an old guy. i bet $25 he calls
turn comes 8 and i bet $45 and again he calls. i worry im in trouble. river comes Qclubs, completing the possible flush. i check he instantly bets $70. i show the 9 but not the pair of queens i made on the river thinking im surely beat and he had an overpair, or rivered the flush with like AK of clubs. and of course as soon as i fold my hand he shows JJ thinking i made a good laydown since all id shown was the 9
all i can think of is what an idiot i am for not calling the river and i silently quit as the BB had just gotten to me. i knew if i told them i folded the Q no one wouldve believed me so whats the point. i just left. no one knows til now i folded the winner if anyone who reads this happened to be at that table.
i left and stopped at the bank on the way home, deposited another $1500 and bought some food.
