all good things must come to an end

id been doing well last week, had my last $7000 or less back up to over $11,500 but that all came to a halt a few days ago. i was stuck early on at Kings $434, and i left to get the money back over at 52 social. i managed to get about half of it back, and eventually ended up back at Kings. and then i got back a little more and shouldve went home only down about $150 for the day. (a loss small enough to recover the following day and not effect anything).

but then i heard that poker warehouse was holding a 10-100 high low split game, which i never get to play. but i dont have enough to afford $5-10 blinds. and i know the worst thing i can do is play when tired too many hours in a day, but its my only opportunity to play that structure so i went over there. and i made a final big mistake by not depositing half of my cash in the bank as planned before i went there.

ended up losing my initial $300 (and at one point was up $121). rebought $240 and lost that, then added on $200 more and lost it. Leo sat on my left (had position on me) and he makes the game loose with a lot of raises and i wish i couldve been on the other side of him because i felt obligated to call the raises. eventually i rebought $1000 plus paid for a massage i thought was $1 a minute (most places in houston are) but it was $2 a minute.

i soon left in an Uber dead tired with only $150 to play with when i woke up the next morning unless i wanted to withdraw money out of the bank, which of course was the last thing i wanted to do. and i turned that final $150 into $500 yesterday, but then lost it all back again tonight and im tired. and i need to buy more produce and wash laundry too tomorrow. i also played tonights freeroll tourney at empire and wouldve been in great shape to make the money except for a hand close to the end when i became severly crippled and soon busted. i had 88 and shoved and both callers had AK and somehow a king still hit the flop. couldve tripled the money instead of dropping from 89k to 20k.

and the coronavirus cases and hospitalizations are going up like a rocket in TX and florida and im wondering if its due to poker rooms reopening so much. the governor shut down all bars in TX yesterday and all the cardroom owners fear they will be next to follow. i dont know where to go if they close. for i dont trust neither florida nor NV not to do the same and theres not really any other states with poker rooms open hardly at all. wearing a mask is now strictly enforced on the city bus, all grocery stores and in the poker rooms.

and i saw a weird sign tonight in the convenience store by where im living that said to pay with debit or credit card if u dont have exact change and if u do have coins available they would like to buy them from u. claimed theres a severe coin shortage among banks here in houston. never heard of this, anyone else heard it?

i wish i wouldnt have lost my cloth mask. the others with strings make your ears feel sore and u constantly need new ones.

a 2+2 thread

i wish originally going to make the title of this entry about Larry Kesslers wife, when i dont even know who Larry Kessler is. I have a lot of weird dreams, didnt know what to write about without offending anyone, so i was going to write about a dream, but now ive forgotten almost all of the dream because ive spent the entire day at the cardroom since ive had the dream and my memory is bad.

i do notice i do a lot better when i spend more time at the tables, especially when there is no rake or time charges. and because of it, theres no point in ever leaving Houston, even though i need to get my ID in louisiana if replacing it is possible. also, i finally got a good room cleaning by the hotel housekeeping staff. and i do better when i spend less time updating the blog and more time playing. so ive won over $3000 since i wrote the last blog 10 days ago, and im finally back over $10k. of course im still extremely broke, i should have at least 40k more than i do. i need to see a medical doctor, get my ID fixed, be able to afford to prepay 6 months upfront and a deposit to find an actual luxury apt to rent to me instead of this motel, etc. and my entire life ive known 6-12 months of poker work can be destroyed in 1 week of blackjack. which is why its best i play in places which do not have casinos or dont have slots.

and i still need more dental work taken care of too, but seeing a doctor is probably a higher priority to be honest. i think its been over 10 yrs since ive had any type of checkup. i am trying to eat better. buying less icecream and more fruit and vegetables in the produce aisle. and i never buy bread.

52 gets more business because its around the clock and the owners stole all the big money plo and california players. Kings gets a ton of round the clock business because theres no charge at all in time, nor is there a rake. so u save about $500 a week. been that way for over 2 weeks now.

i figured it would end soon, but on the way home, the owner gave me a lift the other day and told me privately not to tell the other clubs this, but he plans to continue to give free time for several more months or until the other rooms shut down. he said to me hes won so much in the stock market he has zero need for money and is as much set for life as Bill Gates. so hes sharing it with all the loyal customers but doesnt want them to know it yet. first time ive ever seen a business start charging $0 for its product and keep it that way forever. wouldnt it be nice if all rental companies, gas stations, grocery stores and utility companies would follow suit?

i posted this on 2p2 for a few reasons. namely because autistic people dont understand when something is a joke and when it isnt. im just like Benny from roughing the punter. i say things i shouldnt all the time and its got me in trouble with the police in the past. without me even knowing im saying something that can get me in legal trouble. such as my felony at age 19, and my arrest in las vegas. i dont know when something is socially inappropriate which is why i cant find a good woman in my life.

i simply wanted to see who would be foolish enough to believe what i said about the owner of Kings, and to scare the hell out of the managers of Empire (eddie) and the manager of 52 social. i wanted to see if theyd lower their prices even more, although their prices arent too bad now. 52 offers free time from 10am to 3pm, and if u pay empire $20 u get the entire day free including your meal if u do it before 2pm. so theres basically a way in Houston to be constantly playing poker without any rake or time fees for the most part, and that alone is worth about $500 a week to anyone who normally puts in 50 hours a week at poker. so i dont understand why theres still poker players playing in other states unless theyre as tired of playing 9 handed as me and want to play with 6.

i find it funny some of the comments posted on 2+2 after i made this post in one of the threads. most people didnt believe it, and one guy did because hes played here, knows the owner and said the owner was doing well in his stock trading group. and then some claimed its fake news because they swore Kings is taking a rake, and there absolutely isnt any rake. the owner never said this to me and truthfully i have no idea when he will start charging again, but currently hes still not for well over 2 weeks now, and is collecting $0 revenue everyday, and is still giving out free money of $100 drawings at the table a few times a day. so yes hes been operating at a loss. no idea of his motive nor will i guess. i will say he is an extremely nice guy. havent seen him around lately and he was in there a ton.

i was also surprised when one of the employees high up in management decided i was a good candidate to stake in the guaranteed 52k tournement series going on that im sure they were worried would have a lot of overlays. I warned him i was tired because id been playing all day, and i didnt want to see him lose money and id be better playing it on a different day when id be more awake, but he said to play it. and told the tournament director to cover my addons, rebuys, and charge it all to HIM.

so i did as told and lost 3 buyins, the addon, and cost him $490 total. ill never get staked by him again most likely. i know i made at least 2 bad plays. but on the final hand i lost i think i played it well. this was after all addons and rebuys were completed and i had 128,000 in chips with i think blinds of 3000-6000 and big blind ante format. i had KJ suited and was the raiser. flop comes up 397 with 2 of my suit. so i had a lot of outs and shoved over the bet allin, to either go home and sleep or have a large supply of chips to likely be able to make it to the money. it was a flight in which is i went deep enough, id be coming back a different day to finish.

hes never seen me lose so he was probably surprised. they comment everyday about how i constantly sit in the game with $100, run it up to $250-350 and leave with a profit, day in and day out. Ray knows i play horribly when tired. But he didnt.

still plenty of poker, including a new room, in Houston.

I'm still not doing well, and was over $1000 better off a few weeks ago, and ive still got my work cut out for me to ever get back to over 10k, but the games here seem to be decent still. i got a little worried that week when i dropped over $2300 over a short period of time. id like to go to a few other places and Vince wouldnt mind doing a road trip while hes still not dealing or working the sportsbook and getting unemployment til at least the end of July. so he might come to Houston and if so we could go to a few other cities and do some things ive needed done. (return to LA to get ID, visit family in Ks, and then head up north to a city Vince wants to see). would also visit Choctaw too. and Coushatta reopens their poker room in a week on June 17, meaning a 2nd room in louisiana will finally reopen.

rooms in houston have been getting much busier lately. and one of the rooms ive been in (well for a while it was 2 rooms) have been charging absolutely NOTHING for playing. no rake, no time, etc. so thats saving me a substantial amount of money but only if i was playing nowhere but that room, which i cant really do when im constantly needing to hit and run when my roll is so low and im having to play with my own money. was up $250 once tonight, and quit up $209.

i had something really weird happen to me on my way home tonight. my Uber driver was very close by (5 minutes) instead of 19 minutes but when Leah came, it was a woman in the passenger seat and a guy in the drivers seat. and she told me he was her fiancee and he didnt like her driving at night and wanted to keep her safe. now this is definitely against the rules, so he should be reported, but im afraid to because theyd lose their right to drive for Uber and someone really angry would know where i lived and spend my time at too. but yeah it makes me feel unsafe because i dont know who this guy is and why hes in the drivers seat. he couldve commandeered over her car as far as i know.

the city buses are still free in Houston and have been since march. i find it hard to believe its true but i was told in vegas only the strip bus runs, which would make it next to impossible for a lot of the poor to get to work. all the buses are running here.

i dont even like walking partway down the street in the middle of the night from 1 poker room to the newest Houston poker room, called Empire on westheimer. i worry ill get mugged. doing the day i feel totally fine and taking the bus but i hate being outdoors once its dark. especially since im almost always carrying over $500 unless i just lost all my money. or at least $300. but Ed who runs the new room, is a very nice guy, offered me a shirt from his business advertising it, offered to pay for a massage once from one of his game girls, and also comped me transportation before. i hope his room succeeds and lasts throughout the night so i can have more options enabling hits and runs easier.

also daniel who runs the room across from empire cattycorner is a nice guy. hes gave me a ride before too. and i got $10 for referring a new member. he is still giving everyone free time, no idea for how many more days, but over 5 days now. so he is missing out on about $3000 a day or more by doing this.

i finally got my laundry done too. and i should tell my hotel theres roaches in the room, but worry ill get the blame since the rooms been needing cleaned since housekeeping hasnt been in. if it wasnt for the coronavirus they wouldve forced me to allow housekeeping by now.

Many poker rooms have reopened, and NV managed to get approval for 5 instead of 4 the last minute, so that will make the games better and more rooms want to open. remember 6-7 is much better than 4 handed or 9 handed.

what surprised me the most is turning stone in NY and Thunder valley in CA reopening their poker rooms, and both allow MORE than 6 players, since theyre controlled by far left wing governors. MI will never have poker again in detroit for many months so i guess ill never be able to live at Rays to save money for a long time.
