why am i winning so much

i wish i wouldve found PLO sooner. i purposely put off playing it for many years because until recently all the places i knew that offered it had a min buy of $200 instead of $100, and i never felt like my roll was high enough to afford it. remember i always expect the worst to happen, so i want far more buyins than most people feel comfortable with, primarily because i dont get a check from the government like most people do, or any other form of steady income, or access to credit cards or assets which can be sold. or a method of borrowing. it was only when i started playing in places like TX or FL did i see how much lower the buyin is in some places.

I will admit the virus has done wonders for poker players. unlike other people, they are not dependent on the economy to survive, and can never be laid off or fired so its the only occupation i can think of in which your income is 100% secure, and cannot be stopped. the games are finally beatable for the first time in years, because for years when i played poker, i was struggling to earn over $10 an hour, especially when trapped for so much of my life in $1-2 NL. and before that i was trapped in stud for another 10 years.

the games are better because so many of the nits (basically older players) quit the game, and the most degenerate of us are still playing. or is it just that my game has tremendously improved with more experience? i think its just that democrats arent capable of being taught critical thinking skills. colleges discourage this, and ban anyone who thinks or believes differently and doesnt just parrot the PC axioms. and without being able to go against the grain u cannot win at poker

to win u must do the exact opposite of what the other players want u to. in fact u must play in a style that makes the entire community hate u. because u arent doing what they want u to do so they can win your money easier. the more you are hated the more u will win. and you will get far more action if u fold every hand and never get action yourself, because people stupidly think that if they bust u, u will get up and quit the table. when the truth is if u are losing all u will do is rebuy, and for much larger amounts than your initial buyin was. the ONLY way u will get up and quit the table is when u get ahead about $300 or so and then u will quit instantly because its hard to play your best when u have too much in front of u.

i think the only people at the table who are happy when i win are the dealers, because then they know theyll get a bigger sized tip which they can frame on their wall and post online. them, and the people who know ill immediately leave, and have been hoping i will anyway so the seat can be replaced by someone willing to donate far more money and play more pots.

the biggest lie in poker is that u have to give action to get action. thats not true because i never give any, and yet get multiple callers every time im allin. and here they dont let u run it twice if theres more than 2 people in the pot, which i dislike. im used to being multiple people allin and still being able to run it twice.

and the next biggest lies right behind it are u should always buyin for the max (which u shouldnt do until u are stuck) and that u should always straddle, which only causes u to pay far more in blind bets per orbit than your opponents do.

but lets be honest. the main reason im doing better is simply because PLO is a much better game than NL is. people are already experts in NL, and know very little about omaha. and they think in omaha u are supposed to play more hands, and i wonder where they get these awful ideas?

in $1-2 NL, pots are tiny and the rake gets most of it. especially in florida. not so in $1-2 PLO or $2-2 PLO. there pots often reach over $1000. and when u win u get 4 to 1 on the money often instead of 2 to 1.

im ashamed i wasted so much of my life playing too small, but what choice did i really have? most of my life my roll was between 6k and 15k and that just isnt enough for PLO. u need to be over 20k preferably alot more than that even.

i used to waste money alot too. the last time i was in florida i wasted a fortune on uber and lfyt. i dont do that anymore. i dont go and visit every cardroom in the area anymore, even if its a $30 or more Uber fee to go to and again to go back. i stay close to home. most of you were not around when i was in my 20s and 30s, and only joined up once i was over 40. but when i was that young i used to think i could get a woman to like me if i gave her money and turn her into my girlfriend. boy was i wrong on that. just a total waste. and i quit that years ago since now im way too old to attract a womans interest anyway. i never bother to try anymore.

i do not keep any records and have zero evidence of what im making but i know in the last week i made over 3k, some of it from video BJ of course, but mostly 2 lucky sessions of poker. one of which was a $1200 win. thats a lot more a week than usual, but ive certainly seen nowhere in the USA games are as easy to beat as here in florida. i think its because of all the old and rich money floating around with Trump being nearby. there are an awful lot of wealthy people in town right now who just dont want to leave and return to where they came from because they have no freedoms there anymore. i guess its similar to why people want to cross the border from mexico. although here in FL theyre from Cuba and are much smarter politically than those crossing the border in TX. floridians know the dangers of socialism.

Gulfstream casino has a weird VBJ policy out to scam u out of serious money. Much different than all other VBJ games around the USA.

I've been playing video blackjack games of all kinds for many years, both the ones that can be made to payout over 100% (either by point multipliers, countable, etc) and those which cannot and should not be played because the most u can get is like 99.25% or less. and when i was stuck enough or bored enough, and nothing else was available, i played them anyway for the challenge of quitting before the bad luck happened which inevitably does when its not returning over 100%.

i cannot find their email now, because ive deleted it but ive gotten the emails lately concerning the latest promotions at gulfstream, which i was even getting before coming to florida and still in texas. And i remembered that back before the virus, (when i was last there) at a time when they used to have a poker room (they dont anymore) the video BJ they used to have near the poker room was one of the old time shufflemasters which shuffles every round of a 6 deck shoe. made by the same company that made the old 4 out of 6 deck shufflers. had 5 spots on it, the min bet was $10 or $15 and the max bet per spot was $500.

in fact today, i wanted to see it because i was told they still have a BJ machine downstairs on level 1 too, but thats closed except on weekends. so i never got a chance to see if its still the same machine. if i remember right it wasnt giving points at the time.

well the email told me (and id gotten more than 1 in the last few weeks listing their newest games and promotions) that they now offered electronic table BJ on more than 1 floor of the casino, with bets from $3 to $1000. (and now i cant find a copy since i always trash emails once i read them, though they take a couple days or so to disappear once i trash them). so i thought being that i liked to martingale its a decent spread and id check it out since i heard it gives points.

so id been playing for some time after getting a new copy of my card, and having to reset my pin because for some weird reason they now use 6 digits instead of 4 like all the other casinos around the country do. and 25 points once a day is good for $10 in free play, which id earned easily, on the first $150 or so id ran thru it. would be a wonderful promotion if u werent limited to 1 per day.

and i was up about $125 or so on it before i started losing a few hands, and adding a few extra $100 bills to the machine just to make sure i had enough to not need more for doubles or splits in the middle of the hand, especially if i were going to bet higher amounts. on video blackjack machines as some of u know, its not a good idea to bet more than $149 or $199, to avoid them locking up for a W2 on hands with too many splits or doubles.

good rules on the VBJ, u can surrender, u can double on soft totals such as A5, but i found out from an employee it uses 8 decks. the rules do not list anywhere how many decks, and i had to ask.

in fact if u keep the bets small enough to avoid issues, it might be a decent game when the multipliers are running if u can still get a seat at those times.

but once i started losing hands, i started martingaling and doubling up my bets, and giving back all my profit. when i went over there i was still up over $300 from poker when i first walked in the door and at one point was up over $400 since i was winning at gulfstream too at first.

and here is where the casino fucked me over. the machine lets u play up to 3 spots at once and i had a total of $280 in bets out there after losing about $140 on the previous hands. $80 on the first hand, and $100 on each of the final 2 spots. the first hand i was dealt 8,3 and the second hand was also dealt 8,3, and on the 3rd hand was dealt A5. the dealer had a bust card up so of course i was going to double down.

when i couldnt get it to double down on the first hand, (and made sure i wasnt low on money, i still had over $400 in the machine for doubles and splits in credits) i couldnt understand wtf why, and hit it frantically to avoid timing me out. an employee was nearby helping someone else play it who seemed to be learning and asking questions so i asked him wtf it wasnt letting me double and he didnt really know at first, then i noticed it timed me out on the second hand and STOOD me on 11. this wouldnt happened had i not been asking for help. so on the 3rd hand, which i couldnt double down on either, just like the other 2 hands, i hit and got a face card, which wouldve won had it been on the 11. instead it gave me 16 and i lost it and the middle hand too and only won the first bet of $80 which shouldve been a bet of $160 had it let me double.

so that BJ machine was definitely not allowing $1000 max bets like id read in the email, which of course has long been deleted. and the slot tech and the manager on duty found me a sign saying $300 is the maximum bet.

now every single casino ive gone in that has either live BJ or video BJ, when u bet the $300 max bet, u can still double down, split, etc. but not here. the tech said that since doubling would bring me over $300 i wasnt allowed.

now in that case no one would bet that high, if they knew ahead of time they cant double or split when playing 3 spots of $100 each. but no one would have any way to know, since every other VBJ machine in the US doesnt work that way.

both me and the other customer and his wife werent very happy and the manager gave us both the number of his boss who was no longer in for the night and i also asked for the florida gaming commission because in vegas, they are required to come immediately and resolve disputes, but in florida i guess its different. so im supposed to contact a lady who will be in tomorrow to complain.

I think Bill Potts Cutter, and many others, who are familiar with blackjack games on a machine will see what a horrible injustice this is that u dont have a way to know this upfront. it would be horrible customer service to drive me away and get so much bad publicity over such a small amount to the casino

but to me its a lot, more like a weeks hotel. for i lost out on the extra $80 id have got on the first hand that i won, and had it not timed me out complaining and asking why to the floor slot man on duty, id have won the second hand too instead of losing it, for either a $100 or $200 win instead of a $100 loss. and on the 3rd hand i wouldve got the next card, so who knows what id have got on the 3rd hand.

i think a serious case can be made the casino owes me either $80, $180, $280, or $380. i wouldnt have timed out had i not been trying to find out wtf i couldnt double. and had the email been right on the max bet (and claimed it was $300 instead of $1000) i would not have bet that much. and of course no one would have no way to know u cant double down when betting the max bet because every casino still lets u double down even when max betting.

thats such a low amount to the owners of gulfstream they should make it right just because i could cost them 100x that much in bad publicly. i could post flyers of this blog on every car in the lot and stand outside with a sign every day.

anyone familiar with gaming commission in florida, on how often they force casinos to pay out when they dont want to? the casino needs to state upfront u cant double down if u bet the maximum. id like to see a casino try this on a live table.
