Ballys shreveport--trip report

 the cost of living is much cheaper in texas than it is most places where poker exists. and one of those places the cost of living is much higher is shreveport. look at the hotels on priceline and if u see the ones which are safe, compared to the ones that are unsafe, u will see how much more expensive they are than where i previously lived in san antonio and houston. 

and even more so go look at airbnb in shreveport. everything is far more expensive than in a lot of other areas, because of a occupancy fee airbnb adds by state law that is only in certain places across the country that u dont see in other cities. that can turn a $2000 airbnb into almost a $3000 airbnb when u add a $450 occupancy city fee, along with a $100 cleaning fee and a $250 airbnb service fee. (cleaning fees and airbnb fees are common all places). 

so when my week ends that i paid for (and got 4 of the nights free) and only paid the other 3 i dont have any good options for sticking around. but the game was loose, i played in the 1-3 during the early morning shift. most cities thats a bad time to play, but here the game was so loose i won over $680.

people think the games here are good because of the 400k BBJ which only takes 5555 losing to hit. and the horseshoe on the other side of the river being closed part of the week. 

as far as the casino itself goes there is no temptation to play VP because they have the worst and smallest selection of VP machines ive ever seen. i dont see any vultureable machines here either unlike most places. there is still the same 3-2 vbj machine i lost a lot of money on in the past. (when i dropped about $3000 on live BJ over a weeks time and about $2000 on video BJ for about 5k total)

me losing that 5k when the poker room was closed when i came up during the lake charles hurricane is why i got these offers in the first place. 2 hotel nights per week, and $300 in free bet coupons a few times a month. 

and when i found out i had 5 more days to pick up $300 a day in december i came up here from san antonio via amtrak. i paid extra for a private room to avoid having to wear the mask the whole time sitting next to someone. paid 310 instead of 78.

paid the attendant a $5 tip too, for setting up the bed in the room for me and bringing me my meals as i played online poker tourney in the room. 

the $300 free bet coupons for BJ? theyre not worth nearly $300, for if u win they take the coupon and u only get $300 and cant keep it for another hand like some places let u with promotional chips. and if u lose they take the coupon too. i broke down $600 worth of coupons into 24 $25 coupons and still only left with $187.50 in chips. also the coupons can only be used for even money bets. 

there is only 1 restaaunt remaining and the 2 which i liked better are no longer in business. theres also the steakhouse of course, but id never ever go there. would take an hour for a meal. never been to one.  and the restraunt closes at 10pm. 

i got lucky to get a free upgrade which gave me both a tub and a shower, and a fridge. 

an awful lot of employees remember me from years ago and my blog, far more than i can remember. a lot of players remember me too. good news is the vast majority are nice. no self service drink stations are in business however, and no massage service in the casino. there are decent promotions going on besides the BBJ too for high hands and at times a hilow game too expensive for me. and for those who still want to play fixed limit and i dont know why anyone would because its not real poker, theres a 20-40 fixed limit holdem game. 

and the wifi works great in my room too. and i ran into Jay who knew me and drove me to a bookstore once, and i convinced him to let me give him $500 cash which he sent me cash app so i could deposit it in the bank. i get worried people will reverse it so am very hesitant doing this with people, but i still need to deposit another $2000 or so because my nearest bank is like well over 100 miles away in texas. 

with cash app, u can instantly transfer the money into your bank.

and also my hotel in san antonio refunded me the $300 for the final week i checked out early. so im still hanging about $27k with the recent additions to the roll. which is the most ive had since i left NV. 

on taking a vacation

 I could tell u a lot of weird stories about strange things going on in texas poker rooms, but i really dont need to make enemies of any more owners and who knows what type of people might have a stake in some of these places. and almost all of the dealers act like prison thugs except for a few nice ones and this is their sole reason for dealing in texas, because the stuff wont fly in a licensed casino and also theyd get about 1 third the tips any other state other than texas. 

Believe it or not, one of the nicest dealers happens to be queer so i never discuss my views on sex outside of marriage at the table. No matter what i might think. 

yes i am discriminated against in every way because no woman wants a guy whose autistic and has mental health issues and is unable to drive a car, which is the number one thing women look for in a guy, that he not be crazy and has a car. i dont even get hugs ever and theres almost no masseueses here unlike houston, and i miss that. the few they do have are far more expensive. and texas recently made it a felony to ask a prostitute to hang out with u and keep u company and is the only state to make it a felony for a causal customer. so they punish people who want someone to love them and put their arms around them and tell them lifes worth living a whole lot more than they punish weed smokers unlike common knowledge people think in other states. 

everyone knows weed is banned here, almost no one knows prostituion isnt a felony, but asking a prostitute is. only the man is charged here. 

makes it real easy for women to blackmail men make up stories and lie knowing only he can be charged with a felony. 

anyway the guy up the street saw me turn $100 into over $800 the other day within 2 hours and then left when the BB got to me and told me thats the third time i hit and ran and people were complaining and he didnt want me back no more. same guy i told u about before but at the time he still let me back. no way in hell will i sit with $800 and be able to play well when im only in for $100. if i was stuck i could play well, but not when i worry of losing all the profit. and the table had several people with a lot more than me in front of them. this is why owners should not be sitting deepstacked in their clubs games. 

most of my wins lately have been in big0 hilow games i won 3 of the last 3 times i played, but the min at most is 300 because the blinds are 5 and 5 which is way too high for me since i have almost no experience in 5 5 blinds games. its a shame a bankroll of 25k isnt enough for that game because theres real money to be made in it. 

since most of my readers are born privledged and are one of the few with a job over 15 per hour, they dont understand because they have plenty of money. and even the degens will play in it with only 1 or 2 buyins because they dont know anything about bankroll and money management and follow my strict rules on it (unless im playing video blackjack). a person has no business ever buying in over 100 until they have 10k in their checking account at all times. and 200 not til the same checking acct has 20k. 

remember how Jesus felt about rich people. (much resentment and hatred). he said its easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God

im glad the opportunity exists to play poker and is one of the few opportunities life offers to those who are mentally ill and cant hold a regular job. without it id be earning about half of what i make without enough for a safe room by the month in a nice hotel. pretty much all people have jobs that make minimum wage or far less except for like the top 25 percent who make over 75k a year. 

i wouldve played higher when i was young about 10-15 years ago when in a lot of vegas casinos etc, but i couldnt deal with must move games forcing me out of the 2 seat and into the middle seat in the main game. so i played exclusively 1-2 nl to avoid dealing with that stress. and now im paying for it because i still only have 25k when i should have 200k at my age. especially since i cant see a doctor and my prostrate health and kidneys are rapidly desentigrating. 

but i think that video and live BJ was just as much to blame as not taking more shots in bigger games.

yeah id like a vacation and to fly somewhere one more time because the vax is required because i could never take the vax. way too many people are dying from it. a paper came out saying in 2019 only 1 pilot that year died, and in 2020 it was about 25 or so due to covid and in 2021 once the vaccine came out it was 161 this year once everyone was forced to take the jab to pilot a plane. 

even Pfizer in those documents the judge released that they didnt want shown for 55 years, admitted they lied and over 1000 people died in trials testing the vaccine.

anyone read the troopers tweets? he never responds to me because he has a bias against those with mental health issues but he seems to be a republican and opposed to mandates and even spoke about the rapture this week if u can find it before its deleted. 

i wish card rooms would notify u if u win a drawing. a place in texas i hadnt been to for 2 months told me today when i went over there just to be somewhere different and play some big0 i found out id won $100 in time. great to know and helped reimburse the $21 uber i paid for twice, but i knew nothing about it and it had probably been on there for over a month. all they had to do is text me i get their spam texts all the time. i get those from a lot of houston rooms still too.

no reason at all not to text or email the player. they might otherwise never return but certainly will if they know they got 100 in time waiting

im glad i got back in my facebook account. i was worried today because my phone suggested i add my google address so i did, but then i got an email at my yahoo address (the only one i really use) that my primary address had been changed so i hit no i didnt want this. and then facebook assumed my account was hacked and wouldnt let me login thru either address, but wanted a code sent that was sent to an old phone number i no longer have. 

notice how when i complained about this on twitter every hacker and bot started sending me replies, one right after the other. 

i was able to get in on my phone because it says it recognizes my device. hmm i wonder why it didnt recognize my laptop as my device? then i deleted the old number off of there but it still wont let me add my correct number because it wont give me a text to verify it. 

i think i need to switch hotels to a different part of town but i probably wont be able to get any money back and will need to wait til dec 29 but i got to start playing more big0 games and not have huge uber costs. i wonder if the big0 still goes everyday in biloxi? i took bravo poker off my phone because it has so little space every time i needed one app a different app had to come off until i learn how to buy and install something in the phone.

believe it or not i found a place in missoula for only $850-900 on airbnb but if i flew there, its only good for a short time because its booked in feb but what a great price. it would be too small to have crime and be mostly a white city id think. good poker and its one of the few places i could hide without being known by staff and players. but its much lower than the alternatives in montana pricewise. 

id forgot it was winter because u dont have winters here in san antonio. i would deal with cold and snow most states if i went anywhere.
